Please do yourself a favor and get reacquainted with basic, elementary math. Sorry I'm not sorry you couldn't figure that out, and I'm not really interested in hearing why you handed me someone else's Frappuccino when both of my drink orders were hot. Or lukewarm, I should say. On top of that, they were bland. I thought Starbucks had the same way of making each drink, but apparently not here. My matcha latte tastes like what I imagine bath water would taste like after Shrek got done bathing in it, nothing at all like the matchas I normally get elsewhere. The drive through line is pretty long, so that makes for an uncomfortable wait sitting in place while the cashier makes lame excuse after excuse as to why all the orders are messed up. If you are in no rush, looking forward to kill time on your day and you're wanting to spend endless minutes (and by minutes I mean minutes that turn into almost an hour) just waiting to order and then wait some more minutes to wait for your order while you listen at the same excuses as in why they are so slow, then come and visit this particular Starbucks. The worst Starbucks I've been to globally, service is slow, customer service is non-existent and the employees give you so much attitude when you ask why the slow service. Snarky replies, they leave the drive thru window area to ignore you while you still wonder why the long wait. Is important to mention that I decided to do this review after multiple visits since this establishment is extremely close to me and in each visit the experience was the same or worst. One of the responses I received regarding the long wait was the following: even if you are in drive-thru if there are multiple mobile app orders being received they will do those orders prior to yours, yes you read correctly ( the customer that's at the store has less priority than the customer that made an online order via the app that's not even near the establishment ). Terrible all around and after reading other people's experiences I'm positive corporate doesn't know about this because management is as well lacking. read more

This might be my favorite Starbucks in the area. I'm all for a local coffee shop on any given day, but I will admit to giving into the all-pervasive Starbucks marketing of seasonal drinks, etc. Each Starbucks has their own crowd and that is often what makes or breaks it for me, though another thing that can "break" a specific Starbucks for me is the seating availability and arrangement, some soar far above the others in this regard. The crowd here seems solidly suburban locals/professionals looking for their Daily Brew on their way to wherever they're going. But again, I've usually gone in the morning time. This usually makes for a quieter, but fast-paced environment: staff ready to churn out coffees and most folks waiting for their order, then dashing. It can be crowded in the "before-work" hours, but even with a long line it moves quickly. The staff is efficient, if not overly friendly. There is usually some sort of available seating, and I like it when the soft chairs in the front corner are available for me to enjoy my coffee in comfort. The Pantops location is convenient and there's a drive thru, if you're into that, though I've never used a Starbucks drive thru, call me old-fashioned. read more

Always closing early 3 pm or opening late. In store café always being closed with drive through only. Closed all day today. Also always dirty. No one cares about this place. Starbucks needs to start fresh with this store. It should relocate and start from scratch. It is also small and cramped. My friends and family have worked at other Starbucks in the area and they all referred to this one as the worse. Starbucks regional management needs to do something. Who knew my favorite Starbucks would be almost the middle of nowhere! But it's all about the customer service since all the menus are pretty similar and I always order the same thing. The barista was amazing!! I wish I remember his name but you will know if he is there. He was very welcoming and really funny! This Starbucks is just like any other - in and out pretty quick as they take your order and get it done quickly and efficiently. I'm not reviewing Starbucks for their food or drink, because quality at Starbucks is always consistent (and I only order a hot tea or an iced tea). Since everything is just as you would expect, this is primarily a review of what you may or may not be looking for in that it is an average Starbucks, with above average employees, and slightly below average cleanliness. The trash is often overflowing and some of the tables are sometimes a bit dirty. But with the amount of people that frequent this Starbucks, I don't blame them for not being able to clean frequently. The baristas are great. They're always friendly and some of them even remember your order and have it out in a jiffy when they see you come inside. Do not do mobile orders here, unless you're just ordering a regular coffee. The people here are nice and courteous and do their best. I am sure of that. What I cannot figure out is why this store cannot get its act together with mobile orders. Their inventory does not match the items available online, and they do not have a system in place to deal with errors. My last three mobile order experiences, when I ordered more than just a regular coffee: Today: mobile order for a $4.50 coffee from the clover machine and a doughnut. I arrive at the store and my doughnut is there in a bag - no problem. My coffee... is an empty cup. It turns out that they do not have a functioning clover machine. The barista offers me a few options. I opt to get a regularly brewed coffee and take a refund for the clover coffee. So, I stand in line for a few minutes, then explain to the cashier, and she refunds me some money. I get home and realize that they refunded me $3.00 for a $4.50 coffee, then charged me $2.85 for the regular coffee. So, they inconvenienced me and then screwed me out of $1.50. Nice. Last visit: mobile order for a $6 sandwich and a coffee. They gave my sandwich to someone else. It took 20 minutes to sort it out and get a replacement sandwich. I had to email the company to ask for a refund or some type of reimbursement. Thankfully, the online customer service is quick and easy and they reimbursed me for the cost of the sandwich in return for wasting my time. I'm done ordering sandwiches here, especially given my visit prior to that... Visit prior to that: mobile order for a $6 sandwich and a coffee. I arrive, wait a while, and after asking whether they've forgotten about my sandwich, they explain that they are out of sandwiches. But, they say I can have whatever item I want to replace it. I like this Starbucks and have had mostly good experiences! Not all Starbucks are equal, most of us know that. Some are just better than others. This is one of the better ones. Here are my reasons: 1. There is a drive through. This is always a plus in my book, with a baby in tow must of the time, I need to be quick and, even better, not have to leave my car. I've always had success with my order in the drive through line. 2. My special order is always done well (and accepted without grumbling). I always order something strange. 1/2 the sugar, 1/4 the flavoring, etc. Yes, I am that customer. I've never had a problem with them getting it wrong or being annoyed with me at this location. 3. It is usually clean, and I like that there is a bit of outdoor seating. Other locations around don't have as much. My only complaint is that every once in a while my drink will be too sweet, even with my requests for it not to be. I guess that might just be a Starbucks thing, being that so many of their drinks are just sugar filled by nature. read more

Seriously my FAVORITE Starbucks in Charlottesville. I always order an iced green tea, and sometimes when I visit OTHER locations, it has a fruity aftertaste or some other flavor that makes it seem like other locations add peach flavoring or don't clean their containers. THIS Starbucks always has a refreshing taste, and it is always correct. Sometimes they even remember my order and we have a quick chat if it isn't busy. They've been especially busy since COVID hit, but their mobile pick-up and in-store ordering is fast and efficient. Good stuff. Yes, this is a Starbucks, with all that that entails. But, all the same, it is, in my book, a _good_ Starbucks, set apart by its pleasant, college-town atmosphere. However, the service was good, too, with friendly staff who could be heard laughing and enjoying themselves despite the lunchtime crush. Genuine laughter makes a fine condiment, and it surely went well with the meal I had here. Plus: a big, clean bathroom (never a thing to be frowned upon, either). Horrendous. If I could give it less stars.. I would. If I'm paying $4-$5 for a drink.. I expect the drink to be filled up completely. (See pic) This is never the case. I've been here multiple times cause maybe someone was having an off day. & that's okay.. that happens. But when they consistently messed up on my order and they don't even fill the cup up? That's just ridiculous. Not worth the money. What I don't understand is the most recent time I went.. I got a mocha latte.. my cup had a sticker that said mocha latte.. But yet, no mocha! I've been to better Starbucks but they do a pretty good job here. Some of their baristas are on the 'green' side but I've noticed mentionable improvement over the last couple of months. Long line much of the time but goes pretty quick. And in the summer remember your jacket because the AC is turned up way too high.
