Quick visit, and Starbucks is very consistent in their cleanliness and fast and courteous customer service, but one thing that stood out was the fact that my drink, which ALWAYS comes in a plastic cup, was served in a compostable paper/cardboard cup and lid! Warning on ICED drinks. this location has gone to paper cups and lids for ICED beverages. Ordered a cold brew with light cold foam. Only option is huge dome lid. They were out of straws so I ended up with boba size straw. Of all days to be wearing a white blouse and taking the train to work. I asked if this was all of SoCal and he said no, just Carlsbad. How does one enjoy the cold foam iced coffee when drinking from a huge straw? I am not an engineer but it's clearly a product malfunction! This location is just trash don't bother going unless you like rude employees with your drink made wrong multiple times over. Barista Leah is as rude as they come on top of being totally unprofessional in every way. Kim is another wonder. She has been working for Starbucks someone told me 10 years and this woman can't make a drink right to save her life. I got my simple drink made wrong not once, not twice but it took her three times. I was not the only one that day. The bathroom is always dirty and the three tables inside when not in use always dirty. So, the service stinks, the place is dirty and there attitude is ridiculous. I stopped going after multiple complaints and the manager and lousy district manager Ashley did/ does nothing. Hopefully this locations fate will be the same as the Starbucks in Del Mar on 15th. Street. Its gone ! This location should close as well. Please you can seriously get coffee anywhere else don't bother with this Starbucks. I don't know how many of you have been or like the coffee shop a better buzz but it's taking over the spot of Starbucks del mar on 15th street and it seems they are slowly pushing Starbucks out at least locally and I for one love it. I've been choosing this Starbucks to meet with a friend here and there during this covid outbreak. It's super easy to get to, right off the freeway and has a ton of outdoor seating. There's always an ocean breeze, there are canopies overhead along with umbrellas and the tables are clean. I park, order by phone, pick it up and find a cozy seat to spend face-to-face time with my friends. I'm super careful these days, not really wanting to spend time in restaurants, but this suffices perfectly. My favorite drink these days (since we ARE talking Starbucks!) is the Pink Drink - with extra strawberries. It's super refreshing and so pretty. In fact, I need one today, speaking of . . . A snowman shortbread cookie and a Grande Americano were in order when I visited this Starbucks on a busy Thanksgiving Day morning. The shortbread cookie was nicely shaped like a festive snowman, had a light buttery short bread crumbly texture, and had very good flavor. The cookie is made with enriched bleached wheat and wheat and malted barley flour. The white chocolate icing was semi sweet, and not as sweet as most white chocolate icings that I have encountered. Good cookie. The Americano was alright. It was a bit harsh, and not as smooth as they usually make it. I usually ask for a new one, when it's this way, but this time I added a little half and half and a touch of honey to mellow it out. The young ladies at the counter were friendly enough. They were a little rushed, given the long lines, which was understandable. There was an older gentlemen working as well and he had a very funny sense of humor. Nice Starbucks. Early this morning went in with my three boys to grab some hot chocolates and cake pops. Ordering was great and when it came time to pay. The cashier asked me for my name and I not only told him but I spelled it word for word. Most people for some reason can't say the name Nerissa so most places I have to spell it out. And for some reason, he got some really strange spelling of Nerissa starting with an L. It's disappointing, it's almost like he put zero effort into trying to spell my name. My kids thought it's funny he can't spell my name. On a recent visit the place was a goddam zoo on a Saturday morning, no other words to describe it. About 30 people inside, screaming kids, everyone trying to see if their order was ready, a long line at the register, etc. On a past visit one time I waited 20 minutes and without getting my order (a simple cold brew) I had to leave for work and took a loss on it. Now during the tail-end of Covid, what I don't understand is why we still can't grab our own online order. It piles up with a couple staff members adding and adding to it, because we can't grab our own order. They are making it hard on themselves and customers. I saw my food and drink but couldn't get to it. 20 minutes of this and by the time someone finally asked me my name the ice in my drink was melted and the sandwich was cold. I really enjoy coming to this Starbucks for two reasons 1) staff is always friendly and welcoming 2) I enjoy hanging out by the fountain drinking my coffee/tea Unlike other reviews I've noticed, I've had nothing but great service here. The employees are young, but knowledgeable about their product. At my most recent visit, I decided I wanted to try the sparkling green tea + Apple on ice. They made an effort to make it but their carbonation machine had broke the evening before and didn't have enough time to get it fixed. No problem to me because I went with my go to drink: Iced Green Tea latte w/ coconut milk no added sweetener. My drink was ready as soon as I received the receipt! Talk about fast and friendly service!! The atmosphere is very enjoyable and relaxing. I walked here with baby in the stroller and parked ourselves at a table next to the fountain. We joked, laughed, sipped our bottles/ Starbucks and had a great time in the cool fall/summer breeze. I'll definitely be back to this location. Thought I'd check out a different Starbucks, since I usually go to the one at Paseo del Norte. OMG, it was 7.30 in the morning and this one was packed!! A nice woman from Wisconsin sensed that I was in a hurry (Joey was barking in the car) and let me in front of her. Same quality but geez Louise, next time I'll go back to my regular in Paseo del Norte where there's no one in the early morning. And BTW,. the only way I knew there was a Starbucks here was because I got lost one day and found this mall. You can't see it from the street. In the early morning, once you enter the mall, all you have to do is look for the place where all the cars are parked, 'cause there's no one in the parking lot except in front of Starbucks. read more

Came and met up with a friend at this location. There was a deal going on for a BOGO - SCORE!!! Love the holiday season since Starbux offers my fav flavor. I ordered a Peppermint Mocha, non-fat and no whip. She ordered the Creme Brulee. We lucked out coming in the time we did because a few mins later, this place was PACKED!!! There was always a line, but the line moved very quickly. Kudos to the staff there for keeping up the pace!!! My PM was delicious - just enough mint and mocha. MMMMMM I tried my friend's CB, and I found it bland. However, she liked it. Not much seating in this Starbucks, but lots of outdoor seating as it shares with other fast food establishments in the breezeway. Unfortunately, it was gloomy and cold and we lucked out and snagged a 2-seater table inside. This is not a place to hang out, but moreso a grab and go kinda place. Super busy!!! Okay it's Starbucks again, but this one has a really nice outside seating area in front of a beautiful fountain and next to the best seafood market on the planet, Pelly's. The inside is small without a lot of seating so good luck when the weather is not so good which is rare. This Starbucks is close to the Carlsbad Campgrounds so it can get busy in the summer for those who are tired of campfire coffee.... The staff is also very nice here. read more
