Have always had off putting service here and the worst offender was the person in charge. Waiting to order inside and the crew is cranking out drive thru orders while the two people working the dining and room are standing around talking about chocolate and how people say it with accents from other countries. After several minutes I ask the manager if anyone is working the front counter and she gives me a look and nods to the two chocolate fans, who then one of them acknowledges us in line and starts taking orders. Once order placed, it took forever. Friends who came in through (you can tell they know each other) were served immediately and walked out with drinks/food well before those of us who already ordered. Everyone working here is generally friendly even though they seem to be run ragged. Drinks seem to come out at a reasonable speed, but I have left without ordering when someone says they've been waiting 35 minutes for a beverage. I will never use the drive through here. Parking is always a nightmare. Maybe because they're the only Starbucks in town, they're always very crowded. I park at Bob's Discount Furniture and walk in to order. I would NEVER order food here and would never let anyone I know order food either. This place is in desperate need of foodservice fly traps. There are multiple flies in every seating area and swarming around the food racks and display case. These are not fruit flies which seem to be a common seasonal problem. These are regular, disease transporting house flies that certainly should be dealt with. Great service and people, terrible parking and drive-through, non-existent pest control. If you really want a coffee here, walk from Bob's, order hot to disinfect it, and take it for the road. Hard to get any work done with the flies. read more

Never have I ever been so frustrated with a Starbucks location, and I'm a former partner. This location is so busy you have to contemplate whether you really want their genocide funding coffee. You place a mobile order for drive thru, but you've been stuck in their lines before and they run upwards of 30 minutes. So you go inside today because that's gotta be faster right? Of course not!! This location insists on putting all your "drive thru" food items on the mobile order counter, but the drinks they put behind a whole other counter, so in case you want to try to help them out by avoiding the drive thru and come get it yourself, psych! Today you go inside because that drive thru line truly is an awful and is actually wrapped around the entire plaza, and they probably already have your drink made right? Today you go directly to the front counter and explain that you placed an order for drive thru, but you're here in store and wondering if it's hiding behind the "drive thru drink only" counter. You're trying to avoid what happened last time you dare pick up your order in store instead. They say "no they are still working on it." Then you wonder why you are standing in the lobby for 15 minutes for an order you placed 30 ago, and then they say, oh you placed it for drive thru so it was back here. Which is it? This is not my first Starbucks rodeo, partner or patron. I know how to pick up a mobile order, drive thru or not and whatever this location is doing, it's a complete disaster. No wonder the lines are the longest I've ever seen and the lobby is just as if not worse. Keep drinks and food items together in mobile orders. Between the lines and the feral lobby, no one has time to go hunting for items that workers decide to scatter, especially in the rushed coffee business. And did they even ask me what I ordered? Did they offer to remake it for me after I already received it insanely watered down after doing my due diligence? Of course not. As a cherry on top, the baristas here think it's funny to make fun of patrons and their orders. Multiple food items come out at once with multiple different names, and one of the baristas decides to yell in addition, "BUELLER?" As a former partner, I'm immensely disappointed. Invest in coffee at home, you can actually get your drink made without it being made wrong, taking forever, and it comes with 0% unnecessary attitude and degradation. Plus, it's genocide free. About 1:00 p.m., upn leaving the women's rest room, which was out of toilet paper, I approached a female barista (with a long brown pony tail and glasses). I said excuse me loudly. They were out of mocha, and apple stuff and literally everything that made up our drinks. Then we had to pick different drinks even though we didn't really want different drinks. All Starbucks are not created equal. This one is better. First the staff is amazing. They are super friendly and always have nice things to say or good things to chat about. I have been here a few times with some obscure drinks list. Initially, I would worry about them mixing up drinks, but they never let me down. This Starbucks is also on the cutting edge of pastries and merchandise. This might sound odd, but they always have the latest pastries and newest merchandise. I like to think the keystone of this Starbucks is the warm fire place. There is nothing better than resting your tired feet next to a warm fire during a harsh Maine winter. read more

This is one of the nicer Starbucks I've been to. A lot of comfortable chairs, plenty of outlets, and the big fireplace are nice draws. Plus, it's nearly always deserted. No one's there vulturing over your table. I used to sit there for 3-4 hours some afternoons, and I wouldn't see 20 people come in during the whole time. The only downside - the lack of people makes parents with small children think it's perfectly acceptable to let them run around the place while the parents sip their coffee and try to drift off into the fantasy world where they didn't have children (or their children were at least well behaved). First let me confess that I have previously worked in the coffee industry for nearly seven years. Secondly, allow me to confess that anyone that can stomach Starbucks coffee has the taste buds of a feces eating dog. I am not a coffee snob. I do know what amazing coffee tastes like and I can and do often brew the lesser blends such as Folgers. What I cannot tolerate is to drink a cup of Starbucks. I have participated in the SCAA Barista competition twice. Comparing Starbucks to a decent cup of coffee is equivalent to equating Burger King or McDonald's to a flame grilled Kobe burger in a high end restaurant. While they both may sate your hunger, one will never pretend to be the other. Starbucks utilizes lesser quality beans and attempts to overcompensate for this by over roasting them. Any coffee shop that is worth their salt will attempt a peak roast. Starbucks will over roast and sell it to you as a "City Roast." tl;dr Starbucks overcooks shit beans and sells them to you for more based on branding. You can do better. read more

This is slowest drive thru ever. The line took about 25 or 30 minutes just to get one drink. I always tip them because the service is always nice but there was only 1-2 people working inside. It was okay but won't come back to this Starbucks. It sucks it's the only one in Bangor other then the target Starbucks. read more
