My wife and I stopped in here while we waited for our flight as it was one of the few places in the area that we found serves matcha. While we didn't try the coffee, it looked like it would be delicious. I can say that the matcha was lovely. It is not sweet (which I love) but allows for you to add flavors or sweeteners of your own (which my wife loves). The service was friendly and efficient. We weren't in a hurry so we found a table and hung out for a bit. You can tell that many people use this spot for studying or working remotely so tables seem like they may be hard to come by if it's busy. The inside was super cute and it's in a great location. This place had the best biscuit sandwich ever I really liked it so much that I was thinking about it and the cheese and the bread itself was so delicious. The turmeric latte was amazing. My husband got it and I kept stealing his drink because it was so good. The latte was generally very good as well. The ambiance here is really romantic Kyu then fine. I would highly recommend it with your date friends whoever or just Come here for a really good food from this café. I highly recommend coming here. Street parking is available nearby as well. Overall it might be a small place in downtown Bangor but don't let it fool you because it's a jewel in disguise. I got a large coffee, pumpkin/chocolate chip bread & chocolate chip muffin from the microwave & they did pretty good & even brought it to my booth where I was sitting & might be one or two people at the counter at a time but they were good, accurate in orders & timely. We stopped at Bangor on a Sunday morning and were hoping to get some caffeine boost. We were very happy that we found this spot and we enjoyed each drink ordered (joyride, pistachio latte, blueberry matcha). The staff, oh, such a delight. If I am giving advice to Bangor, the city can benefit from more coffee shops. There were only a handful non-chain coffee shops that open on Sundays. One is drive through only and the other is temporarily closed. I do not know what we would have to do if we did not find this spot. read more

Super quick and easy detour off 95! Awesome lattes. They use tandem beans to brew the espresso. All the syrups are homemade. They also have super good breakfast sandwiches on biscuits and good gluten free muffins. Would definitely stop here again. read more

It is a real delight having this space in Bangor. A place to slow down, or get some work done, enjoy truly beautiful herbal teas or a matcha. It's a fish tank view on down town Bangor which makes one appreciate it in a new way. Visiting Maine and haven't had a great coffee experience until I came to Chimera! First green flag was seeing they had Chemex and pourover equipment for sale. Ambiance was great--calm, chill vibe and clean. The baristas were incredibly friendly and accommodating to my pretentious requests/questions (I can't help it as a barista myself ). You can tell they know what they are doing (and are passionate about it, too)! The cortado was incredible! Perfect milk texture and temperature, and the flavor of the espresso really shined through. Local cafes are the way to go! I got coffee from Chimera both mornings I was in Bangor. A cute little cafe with jazzy chill music and very friendly baristas!! Great little coffee shop with supremely off-beat art and good coffee in Bangor. My wife and I came here looking for actually good coffee before we flew out of Bangor on our way home from a trip for our 15th wedding anniversary. This hit the spot. We both got cortados and while they weren't the best we've ever had, the were definitely near the top. Dry, clean and coffee forward. They also had a great little seating area inside and outside. Love the atmosphere and staff here. I've had the iced matcha latte, turmeric lemonade, and iced almond milk latte. The matcha is delicious and I like that it comes unsweetened so you can ask for whatever sweetener you prefer. The coffee shop was easy to find and in a very cute location. Stepping in the shop was even nicer. The set up and staff was very nice. A coffee shop. I am confused that when they changed name, and owners, they took the coziness out of the place. It became colder, they replaced couches with generic hard furniture, removed decorations off the walls. I get that you want to make it yours, it is just no longer my vibe. Having a gourmet coffee shop is important to keeping downtown Bangor vibrant. The updated (likely new owner) version served good coffee and took the time to design a heart which I appreciated. The updated shop design is relaxing and welcoming. Less welcoming was the cashier who was alittle grumpy (and winter has not even set in). Initial impressions are formed in that initial interaction so hopefully it was just an off day for that individual.
