Starbucks in Huntington Road in Athens GA. Completed a Mobile Order to Pick up inside the restaurant through the Starbucks app while I was sitting in the restaurant next to them. I figured to order my drink ahead of time so by the time I walk and pick it up it would be drinkable. Their drive-thru line was quite long. So long that any day it would turn anyone away but I was walking and it was a joy when I entered Starbucks and it was empty inside. The staff definitely look busy and tired but nevertheless still greeted me appropriately and were very thoughtful after I ended up buying a mug and they suggested I use my Starbucks accumulated stars due to a Holiday Offer of a Mug for 400 stars. Two days in a row I've stopped by on my way to work at approximately 0615-0630 and every time your menu board and all outside lights are off. You're clearly open but leave your outside lights off to I can only assume to deter patrons from visiting your establishment! Always great service, but I can't give this location more than 3 stars because something happened to my breve in the last year or so. I don't know what happened but it's not like before. Not creamy and not tasting like latte, more like milk with a tiny bit of coffee. For some reason, there's an inconsistency among Starbucks locations. I was going through something extremely difficult today when I decided that an iced coffee would make it all better (don't we all think this way). When I got up to the window I couldn't help but laugh at myself with tears streaming down my face. I knew the girls in the window could tell in that moment I was going through it. But instead of making me feel shameful for being a mess I was met with so much compassion and before I drove off was given a pastry on the house. Apparently corporate Starbucks doesn't have to follow recipes. I ordered a shortbread frappuccino. Just so your workers know, it's a vanilla frap, with whip cream on the bottom, shortbread drizzle on the whip, then the frap poured over it and whip on top with cinnamon and nutmeg sugar. Decent place for studying. I had a vanilla scone. Coffee prices are no different than anywhere else. Restroom was relatively clean. Moderate amount of people studying at this location. I got tired of a library so I came here. Coffee was good. I had black coffee, as I do not understand why people drink the lattes and sugary coated drinks, and I am a believer coffee should only be black, with no sugar. To all the millennials that work at this location, we in drive thru aren't interested in knowing your name, giving our name, interested in what you want to upsell or being friends with you. All we want is a FULL cup of coffee. When I was handed a grande size just now I could immediately tell it was less then half full. When I asked them to add some milk or more coffee I was handed a cup that once in my hand I knew they had spilled coffee and milk all over the side of the cup. So my question is where should I send my dry cleaning bill. Don't make the mistake of thinking I asked for a full cup and they gave me one. The cup was still only 3/4 full, they just don't care. I suppose all Starbucks locations have "regulars." I happen to be one here. I've even been introduced as such by one employee training another. The interesting thing about coming here at all hours of the day is that I get to see all of the other regulars. In fact, somedays I like to play "Regulars Bingo" to see if I can spot them all. There's Asian studies guy. I'm pretty sure he's a UGA professor who meets all of his students here instead of going to campus. Took me a while to figure that out, though. When I first started coming here, he had a different nickname to match what appeared to be creepy behavior. I feel bad, though. He's legit. There's also cocktail dress lady who shows up two or three times a day. At first I thought she was ordering drinks for an office, but I think it's always just for her. At least one of them is always a large water. I'll bet her gold member account expiration date says "Armageddon." Next we have Art Deco. He's actually a really talented artist, and that's not his style, but he's here all the time, drawing with markers or just surfing the web. I'm not convinced he always buys a drink, but his drawings of college mascots always seem to please the customers in the lobby. We also can't forget about poindexter. He's a pudgy, nerdy guy who always comes in and stays for hours at a time. This guy is a mid-30s grad student who clearly is mooching off of the taxpayer dollar somehow. He also only orders an iced coffee and then gets his free refills using his membership card. I guess he's not ripping the store off, though, since he pays $2.50 for the first one and even after drinking 3 refills has only consumed about ten cents worth of product. Still, he's always chomping on ice. Everyone could do without that. The best regulars at this Starbucks, though, are the baristas. They are constantly smiling and polite, even when they are slammed. They always do what they can to make your order right and they learn your name. It's a small touch that goes a long way. Best of all, they always treat me well, no matter how many iced coffee refills I order. read more

As the best coffee in the world this place serves the best. Upon arriving the outside is well landscaped and generous parking for the loads of coffee lovers that partake of their delectable handmade coffees and pastries. Once through the entrance door you can t help but to notice the abundant space for sitting and enjoying the free WiFi. The decor pasted to the walls made a square room into a lively relaxing and comfortable place to spend some time sipping on your latte, tea, brewed beverage. A busy place for sure, but not exactly an excuse for the restroom to be completely out of paper products. I notified the barista about the oversight and in more than thirty minutes the men's room was still barren of the necessary essentials. Please do not allow this to keep you away for this visit had more than 30 people walk in during the hour. I lived in Athens for four years in college, and of all the coffee shops that I visited (which was literally all of them), this Starbucks had the most accommodating and endearing staff. They know many of the customers in the store on a personal level and always take an interest in getting to know new people as well. I love how clean and roomy this store is, and how much personality the staff puts into decorating and making the space special. Westside always has its own unique flare whether it's for holiday decorating or in the attitude of the staff there, who consistently go out of their way to make make each customer feels welcome and excited about coffee (always suggesting delish new drinks and treats with lots of samples). Their passion for what they do certainly shines through in every aspect of the store, and now that I've moved to a bigger city, I can appreciate - and miss - even more how rare a place like this is.
