This coffee house isn't as convenient to get to as many other chains but, for me, it's worth the drive for a special treat. I have mostly visited the location in Rio Rancho when I was in the neighborhood but I went to the Alameda location today because it's a shorter drive for me. Between the two locations, Rio Rancho is bigger and has more comfortable seating. However, my visit to the Alameda store with my friend today was so pleasant. Part of that was because of Barista Matt. Just a really nice person who was happy to answer our questions about the coffee and the menu. We were also interested in looking at the dozens of photos attached to the front counter. They were cute pictures of dogs who had visited with their owners. Clearly it's a dog-friendly establishment. With our coffee, we had Bear Claws that were sprinkled with piñons. Very tasty. It's a good thing they didn't have a fireplace with piñon wood crackling inside because it would have been hard to get me to leave.

There was so much thought put into the coordination of the products. The coffee itself was delicious! I got the valentines day flight- 3 tasty coffees paired with 3 bite sized chocolates. My favorite of the 3 was the caramel pecan- it was nutty and sweet without being overpowering. I was impressed with the size of the flight. Every employee I encountered was kind and made me feel welcome. Not only is this an adorable place to shop but there are enough tables that it would be the perfect place to meet a friend for coffee or set up for the afternoon with a book. Sometimes you get beans from a roaster and it's not quite the same at home. Well worth the gamble! The beans from Whiting are exactly the same. Same smooth, velvety texture. Nutty and sweet with a touch of chocolate. Zero bitterness. DIVINE. The folks behind the counter were super helpful in getting me set up for the best results at home. If you're around ABQ heading down Osuna, it's a mandatory stop if you love coffee. You'll want a bag for home. I know I'm going to be ordering beans from here for a long while.
