I have been dying to try out this place since I first heard of it. Let me tell you - Star bread definitely lives up to the hype! Firstly, they have such a great selection of food and all within a great price point. The quality of food is especially surprising given how cheap it is. My friend and I both agreed they have the BEST lumpia we've ever had. I picked up the last 6 pieces they had at the end of the day and it still tasted so good - did not taste old at all. We also picked up their pretzel hotdog which was pretty tasty with the sweet bread and salty hotdog combo. However, I wouldn't really call it a "pretzel dog" since it did not taste like a pretzel at all. Either way, it still got eaten up. I was sad they had run out of their nutella malasadas but got their next popular flavor - bavarian cream. I was surprised to see it had the perfect ratio of bread to filling and was not overly sweet which I appreciated . I will say, this was quite different from other malasadas I've had. Instead of the airy-doughy texture, it was more dense and bread-like. Not bad, but not what i was expecting. Overall, I really enjoyed the three things we got from here and will absolutely be coming back to try more goodies! read more

So after hearing/reading rave reviews, my daughter and I had to stop in during our trip to Roseville. I'm so glad we did! Great baked goods! We got some of the seniorita bread and some ube rolls. They were both soft and pillowy, sweet but not "tooth ache" sweet and I am happy to say the ube rolls had a good amount of filling. But beware, the seniorita bread is addictive! read more

The "star" of the show here is the seniorita bread. Always served fresh and warm. It's very addicting so be cautious. Staff has always been nice and they work very efficiently in getting your order and checking you out. They have other goods here, but again the seniorita bread is what you need to get here. If I HAVE to criticize something, it's probably the malasadas. They just didn't have the same lasting impression as the seniorita bread. I got one with filling and the ratio of filling to bread wasn't that great, and seemed more dense and just didn't have that addicting craving that you get with the seniority bread. I went in to by lumpia and saw this amazing sign sent from the heavens "señorita bread." Do yourself a favor, go and try it. If you don't think that it can really be that good, you are wrong. They also sell other Filipino baked goodies and snacks--from Lumpia and Turon to Pan de Sal, Siopao, and Ensaymada. FOOD: Seniorita Bread: Good. I thought they would be larger, but they're actually finger-sized. The bread is soft, while the layer of butter and sugar in the middle is flavorful. They're just a tad too sweet for my palate, but delicious nonetheless. You can enjoy these as a snack or perhaps for breakfast with a cup of coffee. Most customers buy Seniorita Bread by the box. Malasadas (Mango, Dulce de Leche, Bavarian Cream, Strawberry): Good, with my favorite fillings being Bavarian Cream and Strawberry. The exterior is soft and coated with sugar, while the middle is fluffy. My only request is for them to make sure each Malasada has a fair amount of filling. Starbread's popular Seniorita Bread is as good as advertised. They're authentic, tasty, and freshly baked everyday. I had my first senorita bread at a party this year but had no idea what it was or where to find it. When I realized Starbread was in Roseville, I was there the next day. While I came just for that item, I ended up getting a variety of things. The dinner rolls were excellent. My favorite, besides the senorita bread, was this thing that looked like a giant donut hole. They were excellent and come with various fillings. The person behind me had called in an order for lumpia, which they had packaged and ready for take out. I'll do that next time. I've never had lumpia like theirs which has corn and green beans. There's still a lot to try and I'll order different items next time because I wasn't disappointed with anything I got. read more
