Meeting up for an early lunch with my mom here just reminded me of how wonderful it all is. The staff are lovely, welcoming, and friendly. They remember faces despite long gaps of absence, yet they're so warm it feels we didn't skip a beat. The menu is abundant, with several soups to always choose from, a ton of salads, and sandwich options. My go-to (for decades) has been the combo with a half sandwich and half house salad with their house ranch dressing. I typically get the turkey and cheese on croissant. Toss in an iced tea. Always so good. Momsey did a combo as well but chose clam chowder and the hot ham. Everything was great for her as well. Love love LOVE Rocklin LaBou! read more

Secretly the best study spot location. Lots of tables, plenty of seating, the right spot if you're trying get work done on the weekend! Huge fan of the seats, and quiet ambiance on weekends. Favorite items: chicken panini, with spicy Thai soup, Italian soda. If you're just looking to snack or get something random: baguette with dill sauce!! This place has the best dill sauce, and if you haven't had dill sauce before, this is your chance. It's like a ranch, but a little more flavorful with a pinch of dill flavor :) read more

Love la bou! Their Asian noodle salad is my favorite. I've had sandwiches and croissants also. Always good!

I ordered the Chinese Chicken salad and really enjoyed it. I almost didn't get it though because the menu had the wrong information on it. They accidentally printed it with the wrong ingredients so I thought it was something else. But I talked to them about it and they showed me what was in it. It was really good. The staff seemed nice. The place seemed relatively clean. I would come here again... and certainly for more of that salad. I liked it a lot. read more

A coworker decided to be nice and treat us to La Bou for breakfast today! I chose the Egg, Bacon and Cheese Croissant. It was HUGE!!! And still hot when it got back to the office! My only complaint would be that it needed hot sauce! Next time for sure! Very filling! read more

Great price and good came out very fast and the workers are very nice would definitely recommend.

Always fresh and delicious! My favorite are the almond croissants, which are a lot of other peoples favorite too because they sell out quickly! They have delicious salads and sandwiches too though!! . It is all yummm!! read more

Best fill sauce and chicken wraps! We add bacon to it and it's declious!! Another hidden gem in rocklin! They have fresh soft bread and we use this to dip in the dill sauce. Pastry's are good too, got the cinnamon pastry and it was not bad at all. Ladies at the front are really kind. Service is fast and reliable. The inside is a like a small mom and pop shop, cozy for lunch or breakfast. read more

Good sandwiches at a reasonable price. I would just fix up the atmosphere a little bit. read more

Came here for lunch to meet a friend last week. I always look forward to la bou for their creamy tomato bisque. Unfortunately, I believe they have changed the recipe for the soup. It used to be my absolute favourite tomato soup. I will have to find something else I like. But there are tons on the menu. The house salad was still great and my friend enjoyed her Chinese chicken salad (not pictured). I love to order their dill dressing on the side to dip the bread in. I will continue coming here for the friendly, fast service and healthy and tasty food. read more

Like keto diet food, very healthy and fresh. The price is reasonable. The most my favorite food is their egg breakfast.

I've been coming here for over a decade and I'm ashamed that I haven't written a review sooner. But late is better than NEVER?! It's small and cute with a decent amount of tables to sit at. The sandwiches and salads are always so incredibly good. I almost always get their Chinese chicken salad and Thai chicken soup. It's my favorite! The chicken salad is loaded with sliced chicken breast and lots of peanuts. That soup is incredible too, I haven't been able to find a soup like it anywhere!?! I have searched for the recipe online to no avail. Anyway, I'm a fan of LaBou and there isn't a location I didn't like. The service and food is always great. I've never had a disappointing experience hence why I've been a long time customer. read more

This place definitely deserves better reviews. The ladies are always fast, efficient, and friendly, and the food always tastes great. It can be a little pricey, so it's a treat, but what food is cheap nowadays? read more

Disappointed in the spicy Thai chicken soup. I've included two photos here. One of what it should look like and one I received. They used to use wild rice but now they use short grain white rice which gets thick and mushy. No cilantro on my order either. Disappointing read more

I have been going to La Bou with my friend for about 18 years. It's amazing how Nancy still remembers us even though we don't go in as often! The food is so high-quality and their house salad with the avocado cheese and their dill dressing is amazing. Mmmmm! I always appreciate their great customer service and that they remember our face and make it a great experience. read more

Worst LaBou ever. Went to day at 8:15 am. Keep in mind there no customers besides me there. I stood at counter wanting to order for ten minutes. This LaBou continues to be horrible. I given it a chance again and again. I am done! read more

I haven't been to La Bou in years. I used to frequent the downtown Sacramento location back in the 90's. This is a different location, with pretty much what I remember the menu looking like back then.... Except for the prices! I ordered a half Asian noodle salad with chicken alongside a cup of Thai spice chicken soup and a small iced tea. It came at a cost of about $20! I think the prices are a little steep when you consider what you're getting. The food was okay. No complaints. But there wasn't an over abundance of it and it wasn't spectacular! It was a soup & salad lunch that was served cafeteria style! Not sure if I'll be back. The staff was friendly enough and the place was clean, so I won't write it off; it's just a big maybe! read more

The Chinese chicken salad had 4 pieces of actual salad and the rest was Cole slaw filling. Skimping on ingredients is not ok. read more

Visited this place while working in the area and it was a good sandwich spot. I wish I would have tried some of the pastries that were there but I was in a rush to eat and then leave. I had the California club on a croissant and it was pretty good. Thinking I should have had the baguette toasted as I saw a few people eating that. I also had the tomato soup which was quite good as well. This is a solid 3.5 stars and for a sandwich shop that's pretty good. I would definitely eat here again to try their pastries and different sandwiches they have to offer. read more

First off, when did they stop making their fabulous muffins??? Second, when did they turn their establishment into just a storage facility? Food is not bad but pricey. I don't get how this happens. Makes you feel like it's unclean. This used to be a great place but I won't be going back! read more

This will be the last time I come here. As I watch in amazement not 1 but 2 women making order after order with gloves on. THE SAME GLOVES. They never once changed them so who knows how long they had been wearing them. Watching them touch LITERALLY EVERY SINGLE THING INCLUDING FOOD with the same gloves that they just grabbed your lettuce with and your chicken and bread bread, back and forth from all the handles knobs, lids, all the way back to the microwave door and buttons and so and so forth. Making sandwiches and salads never once changing gloves. Until it was pointed out. I will not be back. Gloves are ment to be changed and used for food handling to protect customers not to just keep the employees hands clean because they can't be bothered to WASH them or change gloves between orders it defeats the purpose. I didn't make a scene I took my order and walk out. read more

I've been eating at La Bou since college in the 1990s. Granted, it has been a while since I had ordered anything besides a croissant and coffee, but wow. I went in with my daughter and after waiting a few minutes as the staff seemed more focused on to-go orders, I ordered a chicken Caesar salad for my daughter and clam chowder for me. Someone, I ended up with two salads and a soup - which was fine, I figured I would pay for the extra item since it was already made. Total for 2 small salads, a small soup and 2 cans of soda was over $30. I'm pretty sure I was overcharged but in the moment - I let it go. The employees do seem as though having walk-in business is bothersome. I understand that food costs are up, and I do not mind paying extra to support a small business. Unfortunately, the food was literally inedible. The chicken was some kind of deli meat-style smoked product that was on top of the salad in thin slices. The soup had a strange clumpy consistency and tasted as though it had been reheated multiple times. Even the baguette was stale. We wound up leaving after a few bites and chalked this visit up as a loss. What happened La Bou? read more

Quick and friendly. Food is good but I view this place more as a time crunch type stop. Very good pastries and service so I would recommend.

I'll be honest I haven't been to a la BOU in forever. Used to enjoy a coffee and pastry of some sort. We decided to pop in for lunch since I had to stop at harbor freight, figure we could keep it healthier than getting a burger somewhere. We both ordered the half salad and soup. We both got a chicken Caesar salad, she got the Thai chicken soup and I got the chicken tortilla. We shared a Snapple. 34 bucks!!!! Ugh! I almost wanted to ask if they rung it up right. Lol. Salads were decent but lacking chicken. The soups were just plain useless. No chicken in the soups and barely any chunks of anything and they didn't taste like much. Little disappointing. Should of just been bad and had a burger for way less cheap than that. Probably just stick to coffee and sweets there. read more

FOOD - Chicken Pesto Panini: roasted chicken slices, roasted tomatoes, and cheese in a warm pressed panini. Good size. The chicken was slightly dry. 3.5/5 - Turkey and Cheese Croissant: a good amount of turkey slices and cheese in a flakey croissant. Yummy! 4/5 - Spicy Thai Chicken Soup: very tasty with a nice kick. I definitely recommend this soup! 5/5 SERVICE Friendly staff, quick service. 4/5 FINAL THOUGHTS Good food, lots of options. I would come back, especially for their spicy Thai chicken soup! The owner or worker are not friendly I've been there twice had the same lady help me. She doesn't explain that you have to walk all the way around the corner to put your order in she just stands behind the counter and expects you to know their process. I had soup once and it was horrible. Came back for a chai tea and cinnamon roll. The chai tea was way too sweet, and cinnamon roll very bland and wasn't that great read more

I've been coming here for over 20 years. Today I came and ordered a combo meal of salad/sandwich. The turkey changed. It was thick and slimy and slid out of my bread onto the table. My Chinese chicken salad had chicken that tasted like it was made the day before and the dressing had a very odd taste (almost like molasses was added). I will say the service was awesome as always. Needless to say I won't be back anytime soon just because when I spend money I want tasty food. read more

I love their sourdough bread! Today, I ordered their half sandwich and salad combo and was so happy when my order came to my door with extra bread slices included! I love ordering their blt on sliced sourdough! The bacon is always crispy and the bread divine! I usually like this half Chinese chicken salad but got the house salad today. The ranch dressing is just delicious and made the salad way tastier. So yummy! read more

I'm going to try to be nice because it might have been a long day. But chicken tortilla soup should at least have chicken and tortillas. Mine had tiny bits of chicken and all the bread they could put in the bag. My wife loves her lunch so I guess it wasn't all bad. So three stars for me read more

As always La Bou signature bread and ranch is awesome, you have to come in morning hours for fresh and best taste of bread, sandwich, soup, salad, sweets and much more. I ordered a Spinach salad from Door Dash that came from the Rocklin location. My salad had a boiled egg that had a dark brown spot with a darker spot in the middle of that spot, the who salad smelled like absolutely disgusting and a very small white bug was on the lettuce. For get it. read more

I've gone to La Bou for years, but with their high prices, and terrible quality of food, today was my last visit. The spicy Thai chicken soup (my fav!!) tasted like dirty dishwater, only 2 small chunks of chicken no rice no mushrooms. The simple Turkey sandwich wasn't on the right bread, and the usual great quality fresh sliced Turkey was replaced with slimy Walmart lunch meat. I get times are tough, but if you get lower quality ingredients, don't charge high quality prices. I paid $72 and could not eat 3/4 of the food. So disappointing. read more
