I would've given 5 stars for the delicious senorita bread with the inexpensive rates of $6/15 pcs but unfortunately the lady there was kinda rude. We have been living in Fairfield for years but went to this place for the first time. Asked if there was anything more they serve like vegetable pastries, croissants etc? And the lady said 'No, this is all that is left (pointed to the trays) and we are closing soon'. They close at 7pm and we were there at 6pm. This is good advice; they're sweet and savory and no words can encapsulate the euphoric experience of devouring these little guys. You need to go get a box for yourself. I dream of the seniorita bread. It is everything a bread lover desires! My biggest regret is that I looked up how many calories are in one little itty bitty piece of heaven and MyfitnessPal estimates 300 calories per piece - 300 CALORIES! So what about these señorita breads, you ask? Think of a cross between croissants and bread sticks that are soft and fluffy, with a hint of melted butter inside the dough. I grew up on these delectable things! It's best to have them fresh out of the oven, but heat it up for about 10 seconds in the microwave and they're perfect with coffee or even as a standalone snack. It's very common to find them in local bakeries in the Philippines. It's too bad I have not come across a good señorita bread here in the states, that is until I stepped foot in Star Bakery in Fairfield. Pleasant lady behind the counter let me try one and let me tell you, my first bite was absolutely heaven, like I was instantly transported back in Cavite. It was THAT GOOD, I even called my mom and told her about it while I was still in the store. I bought 25 pieces for $10 and easily gobbled up 4 in the car while driving home. Bring these at ANY potluck/reunions/birthdays and you'll be the star for the day. Damn. Their senorita bread is no joke. After reading the reviews here I made it my goal to try out some and 5 for $2 is a pretty sweet deal. As I sat in my car, steadily devouring them one by one I realized that 5 was not enough. Once you eat one, you just want to to eat them all. Next time, I'm buying a big ol' box. Senorita bread is sweet, but not too sweet. Buttery, but not too buttery, flake-y by just a little bit, chewy by just not enough and the rest just melts in your mouth. It is like heaven. Visiting Fairfield for a wedding. Easy to find but it's on a busy street and I had to deal with the early morning traffic. I immediately start questioning my judgment after this big white guy comes in after me and orders the box of Senoritas twice a big as the one I ordered. Did I do the right thing? Should I order another box? The box is handed to me and its piping hot! I get in my car and open the box and a puff of steamy sweet yumminess hits me in the face. As I pull one out, it's glistening with butter and gooey sugar. Don't get me wrong, it's perfectly sweet. This is a MUST stop if you are anywhere near it. No amount of stars is enough to describe how awesome the senorita breads are. The purple rice cake is pretty good too. A few of their other items are kind weird but it's fun to try them. I like to bring a big box of senorita bread to work and everyone always has the same reaction. They look at it with suspicion, they ask, "what is it?" and I say, "Just try it" and they take one slow bite and get all big-eyed and smiley and say wow! Then we all keep eating and trying to analyze how to make them. The reviewer who said keep them in the trunk is right. I'm in love with their bread! They are so addicting, you can't just have only one piece! They have other items available, but the bread is what you come for. Pricing is great. The box displays make ordering easy. The wait time could be long, but considering you are getting fresh baked hot roll of yumminess, I can't complain. I usually stop in here for a morning treat or if I'm getting food for the office as my co-workers are quite fond of the delicious snack. I always go there to get a box of Senorita bread. But on that particular morning, I planned on buying a box but saw these senorita breads in plastic bags. I was curious and asked the Filipina middle aged woman what's in it. She said it's senorita bread but I asked what's inside because it seems there's some stuffing inside. OMG as many have said before, the freshly baked warm señoritas melt in your mouth! We stopped by after smelling the Filipino bakery smell next door at Ikoi Sushi. Seriously, living in the Bay Area has me accustomed to the smell of Valerio's bake shop so I knew it had to be Filipino run. Being new to the shop, we opted for the $6 fifteen piece box and wondered why we didn't get the $8 twenty piece ... tried the mongo hopia and it was ok, karaoka? (4 round ball almost hollow brown sugar glazed dessert/snack on a stick) was ok as well but not the best I've had. I prefer a warm chewy interior with a slightly crisp exterior from the hardened glaze. Customer service was on point and they mentioned the Newark location (which I realized I've passed by on many occasions but had no idea what was in store). The mom of the duo we encountered was super friendly, plus I now understand why I saw so many people of various ethnicities buying boxes of fresh señoritas-- deliciously satisfying and service is pleasant. It's cool how they have plenty of rows and stacks of boxes varying in size waiting for their crowd pleaser to be placed inside behind the counter. My stomach's churning with anticipation as I imagine freshly baked señoritas aye yi yi. I think Star Bread in Fairfield deserves five stars or more for their amazing Señorita bread!!!!! I'm very impressed by the softness and the taste of señorita bread its so unique and different. I was first introduced to the bread from some coworkers that I worked with at the Solano Mall before I had moved I wish I would've known about the bakery before I had moved out of the area. Wish there was a Star Bread Bakery where I live now. I come down here every so often to visit my 707 family & friends and to also to come to Star Bread to get their famous Señorita bread to take home with me, it's my favorite it's very yummy!!!! I don't reside in this area but a closed friend of mine brought twice from South SF and I remembered the name... we were visiting at the nearby hospital then I yelp for something to bring. Then I selected bakeries then it pop up! Spanish bread always been a Filipino Favorite! Also bought some Hopia and which the sales lady recommended to try the Baboy & the Ube.
