Interesting little restaurant, it is in an old building in the downtown square area. Very friendly waitress, did a nice job of and seating us, made sure our drinks were filled and brought the food out. Food was pretty good. I did not expect to love this like I did. Very unassuming place, cash only. It was the only place open and we had 4 hungry kids with us. Wow! It was great. I really wanted to like this place. My family and I love trying to support small businesses as much as possible. Unfortunately 2 sandwiches, 1 pasta, and a kids corn dog took one hour and 40 minutes to get to us. Fair warning, it's one cook and one waitress. About an hour in, she came to our table with 2 sandwiches (neither were correct), then proceeded to walk around the restaurant and ask 3 other tables if it belonged to them. Additionally, if you need to use the restroom you'll have to walk directly through the kitchen. It was very awkward having to skirt by the cook just to use the facilities. I hate giving negative reviews, but I don't want other people to make the same mistake we did. Fantastic food and service. I had the pasta carbonara. Peas with spaghetti- who knew? I really did enjoy it. My wife had the chicken when was tasty and moist. Cooked just right. Nestled in an old building with lots of historic charm, though it does need some upkeep. Now if your in a hurry, we'll hurry on by to one of them quick food joints. It ain't coming fast here. Evidently Beau cooks these meals to order..... on at a time. That also means your partner will get theirs and yours will be out in a while. Been wanting to try Starbeaus for a while. It's in the corner downstairs of an old building on the town square. Got the Chicken Fried Chicken with mashed potatoes and fried okra. It was very good. Food came out piping hot. Breading on chicken fry was great as were the mashed potatoes and okra . The bread that was served with the meal was nice and soft and just enough butter on it. Have to go through kitchen to get to restroom, but that is okay. It is clean and still has some of the old pipes on the wall. Have to take a step up and watch your head getting out of your tall. All in all Starbeaus is a good place to eat when in Comanche or passing through. We will go back. read more

One of the best chicken fried steaks I've had in awhile! Lemon, chocolate and coconut pies were delicious

Food was good but nothing spectacular. The service was crazy slow. The waitress was not at all friendly but bless her heart; it seemed like she was manning everything except for the actual cooking. A local family was in there actually playing a game of dominoes because they said they enjoy the food but knew it would take a long while to actually be served their food. The place was clean but repairs are definitely needed on walls, ceiling and entry. Would not recommend nor will I be eating here again. read more

Fat man tested, fat man approved. I walked in and saw a small town shop owner trying to keep a business open.... well I don't know their situation, but the inside is rough, but very clean. My helper ordered a sandwich and I ordered the chicken parmesan..... he lost out. The sandwich was good, but had NOTHING on the chicken parmesan. If you want olive garden interior designs and feel... then go suffer through olive garden food.... I will eat at a killer mom and pop place any day before wasting my valuable belly space with some chain store crap. In the end, my tea glass never got low and I had to take half of it with me and that Just is not normal for me. I am fat man that loves good food and usually will eat until it's all gone, but she gave way larger of a portion than I could eat and for 8.95... how the he'll can you beat that. Outside was interesting, inside left much to be desired. We found the service left much to be desired, one lady was doing everything. We were surprised to find that they did not accept credit cards, cash and checks only. We ordered spaghetti with meat sauce and a chicken salad. This was was without a doubt the best spaghetti I have had in years, the price was high, but the serving was very generous and tasty. The salad was accompanied by a large piece of grilled chicken in a bed of spinach and lettuce, ranch dressing with a side of honey mustard. The salad was delicious. We found this place while camping in the area. A little business run out of a beautiful old building. The chicken salad sandwich and the chicken sandwich with green chilies were both wonderful! We wrapped up our dinner sharing a delicious chocolate cheesecake. The place lacks atmosphere but it was clean, socially distanced, quick, well priced and delicious. The guy who answered the phone was so rude, hateful, and had such an attitude that I decided I will NOT stop here to eat. He even hung up on me. Our food was good, southern clucker and hot roast beef sandwiches. But the staff is quite unfriendly. I called to ask hours for lunch and barely got a reply, should have known then. But we arrived, no one greeted us, so we sat at a table and waited. No one came to our table so we thought you had to order at counter. We were told waitress would be with us soon. She finally came and was unfriendly, I almost felt like I was bothering her by being there! We got our food, but she decided to clean a table and drag the table and chairs around, making so much noise we had to wait for her to finish before we could carry on our conversation. As I mentioned the food was good, the waitress came back to see if everything was ok after I finished my meal. She took my plate but didn't offer either of us a refill on our drinks. We went to counter to pay and that was the friendliest she acted, as she said goodbye. Good food or not, I would like a pleasant experience when dining out. read more

Service is fantastic if you are a regular. We gave them three chances, all three times we were treated like it was a pain in their neck to even take our order. The food wasn't the worst but by far not anything to write home about and way too expensive. Only reason we even tried them 3 times is because choices are limited in the area. After an enjoyable day of deer hunting south of town, we stopped in here based on other Yelpers' input and were not disappointed. The old building is a cool setting for a no frills approach to quality food. We tried to figure out the decor, seeing wooden shoes in the window and pictures on the walls from a variety of countries, but it didn't really matter when the food arrived. One friend enjoyed the roast beef sandwich, another had a steak while another friend and I polished off burgers. The server was not only attentive and cheerful, but also pitched in with the food prep. With her and only the cook working, service wasn't lightning fast, but hurrying shouldn't be part of the schedule on a visit to Comanche. We were bummed to hear they'd already sold out of pie for the night, but that just means it's worth arriving a bit earlier. Currently tops for Comanche restaurants in my book. read more
