If I could give 3.5 I would and herenis why.....lets start with the service. The service is amazing, staff is attentive and friendly and great! Next they have a homemade tomato vinaigrette for the salad...a MUST try. I wasnt sure at first but I love trying any dressing they say is house made...and this is well worth it! The bread is good as well......but what you expect ro be the star of your meal is less than stellar. I got chicken parm with a side of linguine with Alfredo. Well the plate came out looking like a pool of alfredo....the chicken had obviously been pre-made and microwaved, it was chewing and rubbery. It had littke to no flavor....I sadly and I mean sadly...had to add salt and pepper. I couldn't even finish it. I did get a cannoli to go. It was decent. The filling was not the right consistency but it tasted fairly good. The table next to me, I heard them order chicken parm as well and when their order came out, she ordered pink sauce and i heard her complaining about the pool of pink sauce that just over ran her plate as well. Last but not least....it is about 82 degrees if not hotter in there. You can not cool down after coming in from the heat. Its awful. read more

Ordered garlic cheese bread and who ever wrapped it put the foil in between the bread and the cheese stuck to the sides of the foil. It was hardening on the foil and could not remove the cheese. Bummer! read more

We have been here several times and I have had a couple different things but we can never remember later if we "liked it" or not.... OK, so as a NJ native, to say I was skeptical of an Italian place in Texas would be a huge understatement... but WOW was I wrong! This place is up there in the pantheon of good Italian restaurants I have visited in my life, and I would go out of the way to come back to this place when down in Texas! Great appetizers and bread (awesome, AUTHENTIC bread?!) - very surprising. And then my entrée, the pasta Carbonara, was absolutely FANTASTIC! Great al dente pasta, tender mushrooms, and even though the menu said it included ham, it was very much more like the traditional pancetta. My companions ordered the eggplant parm, chicken Cacciatore, and some other dishes that looked (and were reported to be) out of this world as well. Prima Pasta, EXCELLENT job, and I gladly stand corrected about finding great, authentic Italian food in Texas. Five stars. read more

Our service was terrible, took over an hour to get our food. Never got our salad until we were leaving, so obviously that had to go in a to go box. I am from Pennsylvania and I should've known not to go to an Italian restaurant in Texas! Even the feel wasn't Italian. The server was nice enough but didn't know much about the menu especially the sausage! Well l am going to be nice and just say it's not my cup of tea. The Marinara sauce was tasteless. The pasta had a strange flavor. I ordered garlic bread and I think it was French bread cut in half no garlic or it was powdered. The flavors just were not there. We went to Prima Pasta today (Sunday) for lunch. We arrived with the after church crowds and got what appeared to be the last parking spot. When we entered, we immediately noticed that they were absolutely slammed. Once again, we immediately seated, albeit in the bar area (which was fine). We had a new server who I'd never seen there before, but as always, the service was perfect. I tried the Prima Special Pizza and my wife had Spaghetti & Meatballs. Both were delicious and presented beautifully. I was super impressed with how well the servers, management, and chefs were able to smoothly and efficiently take care of that many people without looking like they were putting out a fire. Food wasn't all that great and is very over priced for what you are getting. When looking over the menu the waitress came to bring us our drinks, my friend asked if we could get our bread. The waitress stated she was not allowed to bring us our bread until we ordered. My friend looked at me in disbelief but said okay. The waitress stated that was new implemented by the owners. Once we ordered, the waitress brought us our bread, giving us one roll each. My friend asked if that was all we got and she stated she was only allowed to give one roll per person at the table and couldn't bring more until we finished them... she stated that was also something new implemented by the owners once I got my food, it was mainly sauce. I was charged an additional $6 for pink sauce. I was not aware that was the case. I was also charged $6 for grilled chicken that were a few pieces cut up small to make it look like there was a lot. My friend was charged $2 when she asked for ranch when she had ordered a side salad and it came with the house dressing. For best practice, it would be nice if the workers would mention any extra charges when customers order just to make sure that's okay with them. For one person ordering an entree and a water, I paid $31. I probably will not be going back to this restaurant due to these unfortunate conditions. read more

Always a good time here. Their portions are huge! It's definitely worth the cost. The customer service is good, too. My favorite dish is their shrimp fettuccine Alfredo with Grilled chicken. The only downside is sometimes their utensils aren't all that clean. They made a mistake on my takeout order they me the angel hair pasta and not fettuccine, which altered the taste/texture of the food. I didn't check the food when I picked it up. Mistakes happen, it's fine, just double check your takeout before you leave. Other than that, I'd recommend this place. read more

The service was great from beginning to end! Timing of drinks, appetizers and entrees were great! The calamari was the best I have had in ages. Perfectly seasoned and fried. Cheese sticks equally good. The shrimp Alfredo was so good with creamy sauce (not watered down) with a touch of Parmesan. Yum. I didn't taste the chicken dish hubby had but he cleaned his plate. The food is actually pretty good, unfortunately for the kitchen staff, the wait staff is horrible. The waiter didn't listen, turned in our order with the totally wrong dish. My wife wouldn't eat it, tried to adjust the bill, waiter called her a liar and refused. We will never go back. For context she told the waiter "I want linguine with garlic and olive oil." He brought a dish from the menu that was linguine with broccoli, garlic, and oil. When she said something to him he said, that is all we have. We are supposed to believe that a scratch Italian kitchen doesn't have linguine, garlic, and olive oil,....you can only get these sauteed with broccoli..... Came here for date night with my husband, and ordered the calamari, when we got it it had a strong fishy odor, and tasted horrible!!! Sorry couldn't get a picture because we sent it back quickly and told the waitress it was spoiled. Fresh calamari should not smell like anything. The meal was ok. When I checked out I asked that the calamari be removed from our bill since it was not eaten. The owner was upset and tried to tell me he served at least 10 of them, can you say FOOD POISONING!?! My family converges on this place once a year and normally it's pretty good, but this time, while the service was still excellent, the food was too salty. The prices are still good and the portions generous, but if the food isn't up to par what's the point. Also, the owner should really consider the patrons before he "lights up". And it was an accounting nightmare when checking out. After being presented with a list of our order (no total bill) the owner handed US a cheap, barely working calculator to figure out how to divvy up the check. By the time we left we were all an allergic mess, which pretty much ruined the experience. After this visit I would no longer recommend this restaurant. read more

This was a great choice in a town full of chain restaurants. I had a small pizza with tomatoes, jalapeños and garlic. It was a generous size with generous toppings. It was delicious. I come here on a monthly basis. It is the only Italian restaurant in town so not much to compare it too. The wait staff is fast and friendly. The food is ok at best you can most definitely taste that a lot of the food Has been frozen not all fresh. The salads are good and fresh. On my last visit I ordered The Sausage & Peppers Parmigiana the sauce was kind of cold and the peppers were very raw. The sausage was over cooked.... Let me start be saying my Waitress was Awesome! I order Chicken Sicilia and now looking at the picture of the dish that is on Yelp the chicken is completely different then what I was served. What I got was not a chicken breast or even sliced up chicken breast . It was a peace of chicken tenderloin with the gristle still in it and a beat up flat chicken with batter on it. I ate the tenderloin and left the gristle part but I tried the other peace and could not eat it. My guess is they ran out of chicken breast and substitute a tenderloin and a piece of chicken that was meant for chicken Parmesan. The dish itself tasted good so I ate what I could and was going to pay for it and not make any seen. I quietly told my waitress that after I leave to show them the pieces of chicken that I could not eat because of the gristle other than that the dish tasted good. This is where things went South. As I was paying and about to walk out the bus boy was picking up my plate so I ask him to leave the plate to show the chef. The head waitress jumps in so I told her that my waitress would explain why But she was not having none of it. So I told her I think the chicken I was served was substituted because they did not have the chicken that they normally put in the dish. I showed her the chicken that was left and all she could do is argue with me. She told me that's how are chicken breast are and if you did not like it you should have spoke up and they would have gotten me something else. I told her when I see chicken breast on the menu I think of a whole boneless chicken breast. Still arguing with me she said this is not fine dinning. I replied fine dinning? I could get whole chicken breast at Olive Garden or at home. But clearly now after seeing a picture of the dish on yelp she was wrong and I was right but still she tried just to win a argument while I was just trying to help them out by not serving the next customer the same gristle up chicken they served me. I'm sure they have great food but not listening to you customers is just bad business. read more

Ordered a large "specialty" pizza. Ingredients are very good quality, especially the cheese and vegetables. Lots and lots of cheese hardly and other toppings. Perhaps the next time I order a pizza from here I'll ask for extra sauce and one that has fennel in it but that's my own preference. The crust got chewy and hard like a cracker pretty quick but I don't eat a lot of crust so not a big deal for me. Just would have liked more Italian sausage, mushrooms, onions and pepperoni on mine. The large pizza sold at Bangs Thrift mart deli has this place beat with amount of toppings still this place has slightly better ingredients. Crusts are also similar. read more
