Prima Pasta keeps it 100 Always!!

Prima Pasta is the best Italian restaurant in Central Texas!! Awesome service and every bite is delicious!! Calamari is super and grab some cheese sticks too!! Bread is delicious with some Alfredo or spinach dip. Stay Blessed and hopefully you find your opportunity to eat an amazing dish here!!

    Pasta Carbonara - truly excellent!

OK, so as a NJ native, to say I was skeptical of an Italian place in Texas would be a huge understatement... but WOW was I wrong! This place is up there in the pantheon of good Italian restaurants I have visited in my life, and I would go out of the way to come back to this place when down in Texas! Great appetizers and bread (awesome, AUTHENTIC bread?!) - very surprising. And then my entrée, the pasta Carbonara, was absolutely FANTASTIC! Great al dente pasta, tender mushrooms, and even though the menu said it included ham, it was very much more like the traditional pancetta. My companions ordered the eggplant parm, chicken Cacciatore, and some other dishes that looked (and were reported to be) out of this world as well. Prima Pasta, EXCELLENT job, and I gladly stand corrected about finding great, authentic Italian food in Texas. Five stars.

The food is very good, I've not tried anything on the menu that I don't like but the manicotti is my favorite.

Cold iceberg lettuce, plenty of dressing (no dinky cups needed) with great little croutons. Made in house? It was that delicious, and grated cheese on top (either Gouda or Mozzarella, but definitely mild and delicious. I'm hungry all over again. I ordered a combo with Canneloni, Ziti and Manicotti, cheesy and delicious as all their food. The best thing was the rolls (complimentary) which were better than ever. Soft and yeasty, buttered and beautifully dusty with Parmesan and garlic. I'm now officially starving! I'm sure we got tiramisu. It's terrific. I've never had a bad meal there, but this was exceptional. These folks are wonderful--and we've seen their kids grow up here. Practically the most wonderful thing of all was the absolutely professional, polished, and polite voice taking our phone order...the little girl who grew up into a polished and terrific young woman. Bravo!

We tried the stuffed mushrooms and had a pizza as appetizers. All entrees come with a salad and bread. I ordered the shrimp fettuccine and it was so creamy. Not dry or oily. I loved it. It's a good size portions.

I got my order to go, and they were pretty quick getting my New Yorker out to me. The bathroom was clean, and the restaurant was quite big. Everyone seemed nice inside as well. It's really just your typical McAlister's. This isn't the fault of this location, but holy smokes those prices are outrageous. RIYL: The chain of McAlister's. They make soups and stuff

The dill pickle lemonade was surprisingly good! But... The reason we stopped coming was the shockingly minimal amount of meat on the sandwiches, and the high prices for meat that can't even cover the bread. It hasn't changed, I can't believe they are still in business, this is the same reason we stopped going to (the now closed) Schlotsky's). The amount of ham on those sandwiches seem to be ok, but... I order a 1/2 and 1/2 with a garlic steak and a "bbq" honey pork. The tiny slivers of meat that were there were not appealing at all, they were both the same odd color of grey, and again, couldn't even cover the bread. The flavor (like the meat) was almost non existent. I couldn't even tell which was which... I literally used about six napkins throughout the course of 2 sandwich halves?? What was leaking out? It wasn't water? As I longingly gazed out the window at Chick Fil A I lamented the loss of $35 for sandwiches and drinks for 2 people. So long McAllisters, you blew it for good this time.

Hidden Gem Just Off the Interstate…read more If you ever find yourself near Beneventi's Italian Restaurant, do yourself a favor and stop in. My husband and I stumbled upon this place while traveling, and it turned out to be one of the best dining experiences we've had in a long time. From the moment you walk in, you can feel the history in the air. Antique items are displayed throughout, and as you enjoy authentic Italian recipes passed down for generations, you're surrounded by photos of those very generations who built this restaurant's legacy. It's a place that feels both warm and welcoming, like stepping into someone's home. I ordered the Trio, which included lasagna that was absolutely phenomenal--rich, flavorful, and clearly made using the family's secret recipe. My husband went for a pizza, made in-house with the freshest ingredients. Everything came out piping hot, and the flavors were out of this world. The service was excellent, and the manager was kind enough to give us a tour of the property. We were blown away by how beautiful it is, especially the outdoor stage--this would be an amazing wedding venue! And whatever you do, don't leave without trying their bread pudding. Trust me. I took some to-go and didn't regret it! P.S. Jan, when I said I'd wait until I got home, I lied. I ate it in the car.
