Italian Earl of Sandwich & potato ensalada.
Diana T.

Carli helped me decide what to get when I wasn't sure what desert to get for breakfast. As far as ambiance, there is no din that disturbs dinners. We didn't know where to eat today, but I really like being around my peers in the community. The pic is what my house spouse decided to eat, the always delicious Italian & potatoe salad. (Like tomato, the ending in potato is optional.) Thx for the excellent service at 12:54 p.m.!

Not the soup I ordered but they sent a soup spoon

Well, I have not been here in a couple years because of bad experience. I thought I would try it again. I ordered a salad which was fine. I ordered a bowl of broccoli & cheese soup, over $5, and got a bowl with 2 pieces of broccoli, some shaved carrot and a few pieces of chicken. Really? Very disappointed.......

The salad was fresh and good. The Italian sandwich was one of the best I've had in a long time.

Excellent food and service, but the bowls of soup were only 75% full, even though they cost $7.

This trip we finally made the turn into the parking lot. Walking in, we were greeted immediately. Our greeter was behind a counter that contained fudge and other candies. My wife asked where the fresh made cinnamon rolls were, but unfortunately they were already sold out. We walked around the business and found it to be quite large. It was well stocked on most things but a lot of it was stuff I had no interest in. We did enjoy watching the ladies making taffy. The wife and I both used the bathroom facilities. We found them to be well maintained and very clean. I was hoping that this store would be similar to the Choke Cherry store in Estes Park. Unfortunately it was not. We didn't get lunch as we had already eaten with our daughter. We did hear several people say that the food was excellent. Will I return? Of course as my wife has to have some of their cinnamon rolls:)

Quick look rating: 4/5 Food & Quality, 5/5 Service, 5/5 Experience…read more What a great store! I have gone through several times before this review! This grocery store is well laid out! As you enter behind you is a bug zapper, I have never seen that, and I love that item! Someone is thinking upstairs! Thank you! Great carts, two different sizes and the area is clean, thank you again! As you enter to the right are all the fresh veggies and fruits with the Starbucks to the far left! Starbucks is a nice little add if you can not wake up totally to the shopping. To note, the Starbucks is fully staffed and can do what ever quickly! Thank you to them! To the far left, they have hot meals to select from, and if you are going to try to save money, have a bite! Do not shop hungry! It will cost you in the long run! If you walk through the store you will notice that the isles are wide, clean, and the products are well placed. This store has a number of cold bins! A number of more cold bins than the normal store, but they are trying to take care of you and being in a small town! ~ Cons: ~ They do not have a deli/meat person other than their deli person! ~ Their fresh fish area is very limited and also the frozen fish area. But this is central Texas, you eat fish near the shore, not in in central US. ~ Pros: ~ The veggies look and feel so fresh! ~ Customer service Rocks! ~ The fruits look and feel awesome! Just like they would taste fantastic! ~ The daily hot meals are a nice touch, and if you want to save a buck, have a little something before your shopping! ~ The pharmacy looks like they are on top of their game, but I can not verify this at this time. I like this place a great deal! I do have one problem, I came back notify the store manger about this problem and she lied to my face. I told her about the problem and would come back about in a month to see if they had resolved this issue, and update my review. I had read an article that the catfish and tilapia from china were not on our best interest. (Let us leave the issue on that) The manager only stated that she would look into this issue and it was higher issue now that it was brought to her attention. If you find a problem, please let them know so they can help you out! Yes, I will be back!

I know that's the way it is but it's not right and if you don't get the deals at United they're already so Sky High anyway it's horrible that's the only reason I come is to get the deals and then you don't get them unless you do exactly what they say get it delivered or pick it up and I didn't see that I've never seen that I've been getting fruit on sale there taking it to my sister at the nursing home but that's how it goes everything's changing and it's going to get worse it's going to get worse . And everybody's going to be in a mess not pleased at all such a good mood after talking to them at the pharmacy and then go to grocery that I wasn't even going to pick up the stuff that I needed to go ahead and get it for the family and here we go Lord help me Jesus help me Jesus

I felt like we intruded on these ladies lunches! I'm looking all over for a menu and finally ask the girl behind the counter and she pulls a menu out. I'm was so confused as to why they don't just keep them out. The next thing that got me is that there weren't prices on the menu. We ordered 2 pulled pork and 1 chicken salad and it was about $38. The girl behind the counter was very sweet and accommodating, especially for my picky kids. My kids love pulled pork and they said this was okay but they preferred grandpa's. It did look a little dry but my husband said it was okay. My chicken salad sandwich was dry as well. The potato salad was really good though!!! They both could have used a little more seasoning. Thankfully there was salt on the table. Now for the star of the show... the pickles!!! I'm the only real pickle eater and I thought they were really good... enough so that I bought a big container. It was a little odd because the pickles on my plate were different textures. My husband actually noted the same thing. We went back and got a Dr Pepper cake. It was moist and had an interesting flavor. I don't think I would have guessed DP if I hadn't known it before.

DELICIOUS! I actually heard about this place from a Reddit post about places to stop on a road trip…read moreacross Texas and I'm so glad I listened! It's home cooked food, calories-not-monitored, but worth every single bite. It doesn't look like much from the outside, but I knew it was going to be good when we saw the parking lot was overflowing into the grass. Luckily there was still an open table inside and we were welcomed by the sweetest staff and our waitress was just as wonderful. So many things looked good on the menu, but I couldn't resist ending this road trip with another taste of chicken fried steak to compare to Mary's (and they can definitely compete because it was AWESOME)! We also tried the chicken fried chicken (delicious), sweet potato casserole (amazing), Mae's potato casserole (tasty), cheese sticks (good), and the hamburger and fries which was obviously delicious enough that my picky daughter almost finished it - which says a LOT! We were very glad that we'd ordered the "smaller portions" for lunch because it meant we could grab a few of the desserts to go to snack on for our final leg of the road trip and keep enjoying at home. We tried the toffee cake (incredible), peanut butter cake (sinfully good), and the coconut pie (very light and creamy)! We also snagged some items to take home with us from their coolers and I can 100% recommend their pork tamales and summer sausage. If you get the chance to stop here, you won't regret it at all! Delicious, great service, and good portions!
