Formerly a Mexican Cuban restaurant they have now converted to a Burger and Wing restaurant. And while that sounds like an odd progression they have absolutely nailed it. The service was great. They behaved as though they were genuinely happy we were there. One of us has an allergy and the server was attentive in making sure the dish was prepared appropriately and advised us on what sauces , etc. to avoid. You order at the counter and choose your own seat inside or outside. There is a large selection of sweet and unsweetened teas available! My husband described the double bacon burger as one of the best he has ever eaten. The wings and spiced pickles were great. It can get kinda of loud here. Only thing I would change would be a real fork for my salad instead of a plastic one. read more

Closed months ago. Food was OK, changed to serving burgers after original menu played out. Business lasted two maybe three years.

From what I understand this place has made a major change. I think for the better. My favorite is the cheeseburger bowl. It really fills me up. The burgers and fries are little greasy. The chicken fried steak is fairly good. It's good food especially on Sunday after church. They serve several flavors of tea, as well as, regular soft drinks. Stopped here right after they opened on a Sunday. Food was excellent!!! I had the La Patrona burger...one of the best burgers I've ever had! The staff were super kind and hospitable to us and our crazy kids (we have two under two) and the food came out quick and hot! read more

My sister and I had stopped in and ordered food and mixed drinks. The mixed drinks had no alcohol in them and they still charged us full price for drinks that they did not put alcohol in. Then my sister ordered another drink...same thing...no alcohol in her drink and it tasted like colored water...no flavor and they charged her $11 for colored water with no alcohol in it. Worst place to get mixed drinks from. You could probably test the drinks for alcohol and find none whatsoever in the drinks. read more

Passing through from Coleman on a Sunday and not much was opened. Stopped here and found an impressive menu. Burgers with delicious buns that can also be served on a lettuce wrap or gluten free bun. Three homemade sauces that were delicious. Eight different varieties of tea. The staff was excellent. Will tell relatives that live near to try it. read more

It is difficult to find good Mexican Food around here. I had the Chili Rellanos here and the flavor was so good. The ranchero sauce was excellent. Service was good. Iced tea was great. read more

I grew up in Florida & miss the good from my youth. So for Coleman, TX to get a Cuban restaurant was awesome for me. When I miss Florida's food, I go there. The Cuban sandwich is very close to home. read more

The food was amazing but what was even better was how friendly and helpful the wait staff were to our family.

Told the front line worker when I came in and again when I ordered that I am severely allergic to gluten and cannot risk getting sick. I explained that I can't have any soy sauce, gravy, marinades, wheat products whatsoever. My salad came with lots of croutons mix into it. I sent it back to be remade. The waitress was again asked whether there was anything at all gluten related in the hamburger patty and grilled onions & mushrooms I wanted to order. She assured me it was safe. No liquid sauces/seasonings? No just straight grilled without any seasoning. One bite swallowed and I strongly suspected that she was wrong. My spouse tasted it twice. We were convinced it had a sauce mixed into the meat with a very strong, savory flavor that was most definitely added to the meat. I questioned the waitress again and emphasized that I cannot get violently sick while on a road trip. The waitress asked the cooks who said it only had sea salt - 100% not possible with the taste of it. They only spoke Spanish so there was a language barrier. I wisely didn't eat any more of it (delicious as it was) and had no dinner besides the side salad and was glad I didn't eat more than one bite because I got VERY violently sick. This is a follow-up review after 3 more visits to Don Luis in Coleman Texas. While the food is still outstanding they do have some issues which need addressing. First, on our second visit I again ordered the Street Taco's which were delicious the first time. This time the tortillas were old and cold and crumbled when you folded them. The meat was just barely warm. The plate they were served on was cold and had not been heated. On our third visit. We had a Cuban pork dish on which the pork was very thin, dry and tough. We had the Steak Fajitas which were very good and served on a sizzling platter. But, the meat was (while tasty) very tough. Each time we have been there the staffing has been an isssue. There have never been more than 3 waiters and usually only 2 for the entire restaurant even during the dinner hour. We will go again just because the food is usually pretty good as a rule. But they need to work on consistency and staffing if they are going to make it, even in a little town like Coleman. read more

Wonderful food and service! The stuffed avocados are so unique and delicious..worth the trip to Coleman.

6 of us stopped to dine at 8:00 on a Tuesday evening. We were seated quickly, but that's where the service stopped. I got menus and silverware for our table. About 15 minutes later, our drink and food orders were taken. A table of 6 was given one small basket of chips. The waitress came by once to refill drinks and tell us that they were out of carne guisada. 45 minutes after placing our food orders, we left without eating. Very disappointing stop. The Abilene locations have always been prompt and attentive, we were shocked to see the differences. read more

If I could rate the service at this restaurant as negative 10 stars I would.. only 4 tables including mine and we had multiple things wrong (over cooked steak, wrong sauce on enchiladas) and things we asked for that never came. The manager never came to our table although I caught his eye plenty of times. Had to flag down our waitress or waitresses. Had to ask for the check although we were clearly done and sat there for awhile. And had to walk up to one of the two waitresses to get the bill paid. Horrible restaurant, I mean come on my dead grandmother makes better food than DON LUIS, it's so horrible me my family went there to try something new and when we left we were very disappointed, service sucked so bad we were there for 47 minutes just waiting.
