The young lady at the counter helped guide me through their menu options and made sure that I selected an option that would be best for my dietary preferences. Pro tip - the brown rice is cooked with chicken stock so if you're vegetarian, go for the regular white rice. I ended up with the falafel bowl and added most of their veggie toppings as well as the tahini sauce, hot sauce, and a lemon vinaigrette sauce. Sauce me up. The serving size was generous and everything tasted fresh. Just what I needed to fuel the rest of the day's adventures.

They don't drown it in white sauce unless you want it that way. The brown rice was flavored so well! You can choose white or brown. They give you all the toppings you want and they're all fresh, high quality. There are so many tangy, delicious flavors all together! Chicken is grilled fresh, so you have a 10-15 min wait, but I like that rather than premade chicken. It's a quiet, clean, peaceful restaurant with plenty of seating. Smells clean. They're very popular. People come to eat or for takeout. But you wouldn't know. Service was perfect! Shri was fast, efficient, so respectful, asking everyone how they like the food. She really welcomed me and every customer. I wish all people at such places were like her! Generous with servings and respectful, she looked like she really wants you to enjoy and come back! They have lamb chops, salmon, shrimp kebabs, all sort of Mediterranean foods. They won't skimp on toppings. You'll be full and want to return! Highly recommend!

I wanted to try a representative sampling of their food, so I ordered a chicken parmigiana wedge, a large cheese pizza, and a 2 liter bottle of diet Coke. Out of the three items, the best part of the meal was - the diet Coke. (If you've tried getting Cocla Cola products from Albany restaurants and are a Coke fan, you understand this.) The pizza was pleasant, but decidedly average. The crust was not crisp, though reheating should help with that, which I shall find out with the leftovers. There was more crust than I normally like relative to the cheese, but it wasn't overly unbalanced. It was just a little too much on the crust side. The wedge, in conrast, had so much sauce I could not taste the chciken at all, and had trouble even finding the chicken on the sandwich. When I did, the chicken had minimal flavor. a good chicken parmiagiana should actually let you taste chicken with crisp breading, not soggy breding hidden in enough sauce to cause digestive distress. And yes, I did expereince digestive distress. I might buy their pizza again, but Albany's a decent size city, and there's lots of competition. But I won't be trying the wedge for quite a whle.

Don't skip this place for pizza. It's one of the better upstate NY pizza places for sure. As pizza…read moresnob from NYC, I enjoyed the standard cheese pizza far more than I expected to. Also worth trying is the lamb over rice. Next time, I'd get it with extra sauce as it was a bit dry. However, I prefer this to Aria down the street - this doesn't have that flavor I dislike in the food from that other place that I've yet to figure out. I don't know if they have other options to add toppings, but maybe it's something to explore. It was just rice and lamb with a bit of green salad. Not other than advertised so no complaints there. The mozzerella sticks were good. Melba sauce was provided (as it should be everywhere in the universe). I'm torn on the eggplant parm dinner. It seemed like the eggplant rounds were cut up and mixed into the ziti or they were tender enough that they just disintegrated into the ziti. I'm certainly into having pasta with eggplant parm but also I want to control that ratio. This made it difficult to find and fork the eggplant amidst the ziti. It was also difficult to find eggplant pieces where the eggplant and breading were still unified. The eggplant was pretty good though. The calzone is not small. It was a bit light on ricotta compared to other calzones but there was no lack of cheese overall. It was more of a folded over white pizza than a calzone. That is, I expected it to be a puffy pocket but it was a flat semi circle with big slits on top. Not bad. Maybe I'd be in the mood for that style of calzone again in the future. I'd skip the buffalo chicken wrap next time. It was relatively dry, not spicy, and not as substantial as I was expecting. Beyond that, it had a grill flavor to it that was a bit out of place and interfered with the expected flavor. They seemed to put it on the grill to seal it closed in the middle but they keep the ends open so you have to hold the end closed while eating it to prevent bits from falling out. It was more of a somewhat buffalo flavored chicken roll-up than a buffalo chicken wrap. Surprisingly good fries. Also, great peanut butter pie. Note that the pepperoni is beef. It is very appreciated that it is clearly marked as beef so people can decide if that's a thing they want more or less than traditional pepperoni. Far too few other places think it's important to note this!

One thing I've appreciated is seeing how much they've improved over time. In the beginning, the food quality and consistency weren't always where they needed to be, but they have made significant improvements and have become much more reliable. The peri peri chicken is flavorful, well-seasoned, and cooked well, and the sides are generally fresh and satisfying. Whether dining in or ordering takeout, my recent experiences have been consistently positive. The staff is friendly, and service is generally smooth. The only minor issue I've noticed is that they occasionally run out of certain menu items, especially during busy periods. However, that hasn't taken away from the overall experience. It's great to see a local business continue to improve and grow. Overall, Tribos Peri Peri offers good food, solid service, and a much stronger experience than when they first started. I'd happily recommend it and will continue to return.

"But I got my head in the clouds like Zeus Swear I can see…read morethe game from a bird's-eye view" (Eminem) What on earth does peri peri mean? Well peri peri is a fiery little African Bird's-eye chili whose name literally means "hot pepper" in Bantu. Tribos Peri Peri in Avon is the regional chain's eighth location (and the only one in CT), with the other seven in MA, MD, and NJ. Their cuisine pays homage to that incendiary African Bird's-eye chili pepper in their Portugese, African, and Southeast Asian flavored chicken dishes. You can have your pick of wings, tenders, platters, and even a whole chicken with or without sides. Some of the sides and appetizers have a Mediterranean flair such as hummus, pita breads, couscous, falafel, etc. The non-chicken lovers can get other dishes with lamb, paneer cheese, falafel, etc. Now, when you order chicken you have to decide on your tolerance for a heat level. I ordered three freshly grilled tenders and needed to select one of their six spice levels for the sauce the tenders get bathed in. Level One is plain, Level Two is Lemon & Herb, Level Three is Mild, Level Four is Medium, Five is Hot, and Six dares you to be Very Hot. I went with Level Four Medium, and I gotta tell ya, my chicken tenders were very spicy. Oh... and the chicken itself? FANTASTIC - freshly grilled, large, moist and perfect. Soon after the tenders were delivered to my table, two more things appeared- a squeeze bottle of white and red sauce. The smiling server said if my chicken was too spicy I could cool it down with the white garlic sauce. But if they weren't spicy enough, I could increase the firepower with some peri peri sauce. Of course I had to try the peri peri sauce and lets just say I was very grateful I just tried an eye dropper's worth of it. Along with the chicken, I ordered an amazing side of grilled corn on the cob. So the food was great, but how about the service? My experience was fantastic. The gent who took my order was friendly, conversational, and helpful. And when he brought out those two sauces, he was playfully smiling when he talked about the heat level of that Peri Peri sauce. What a nice addition to the Farmington Valley.

There are plenty of cozy places to sit both inside and outside, and today they even had a musician performing on the patio, which made for such a relaxing atmosphere. We ordered breakfast and iced coffee from the café. The Brown Sugar Maple Croissant Breakfast Sandwich was absolutely delicious! Even though the café was very busy, the ordering line moved quickly, and they brought our drinks and food right to our table--a really nice touch. We also stopped by the bakery. Even later in the morning, there was still a great selection of baked goods. We brought home strawberry lemonade muffins to enjoy tomorrow, and I can't wait to try them. The general store was filled with adorable locally made products, along with a nice selection of take-and-bake meals that we'll definitely be coming back for. The entire property is thoughtfully designed with charming little seating areas scattered throughout. It's the kind of place where you want to slow down, relax, and spend a while exploring.
