Kimchi Fried Rice
Trin H.

|[ a d i f f b e a r ]| My friends craved the old ob bear so we decided to come try and see if it's comparable. While the flavor of the panfried seafood was okay and decent, the undercooked rice cakes (at least on our visit) really messed the dish up for me. IMO a squishy and nicely cooked rice cake makes this dish good and without it makes this a 2.5/5. |[ o t h e r f o o d s ]| Kimchi fried rice 3.75/5 - fried rice really good but portion smaller than I'd like. The side salad was underwhelming imo and I'd prefer if they just made the fried rice portion bigger and/or put a better side with it. Fish cake soup 4/5 - prob my fav dish, soup was v flavorful with lots of fish cakes! The egg is also a nice touch. Decent portion size enough to share w a few people. |[ n o t e s ]| Has potential, would love to see improvements (see above). Cute relaxing interior, quick efficient service. Valet parking $5.

There is limited parking in the front, but it is super spacious inside. We came when the parking lot is completely full, but we still got a seat in 2 minutes. The staffs were quick and courteous. Now the most important part, the food. It. Was. Amazing!!! Everything was so tasty, and paired super well with our drinks. We asked for the Terra beer and mixed it with Jinro soju. Overall highly recommend!

This was our second round location and it was booming!! The ambiance in the location was popping! Their cocktails were yummy I believe $10+ and if you're drinking it's kind of a rule to at least have some type of finger food!! It reminded me of the 포차's in Korea! The waitresses are great and constantly checking up on you to make sure everything is going correctly.

This was my first time exploring K-town and this spot is definitely a vibe!! The parking is tight but valet is only $5 so worth it to me. The outside is super cute & there is karaoke upstairs I need to go back someday to try. For a Friday night we were seated quickly & waiters were friendly! If you're looking for a place to drink with a large group then this spot is it for sure. It's really great with friends, because it's poppin it's usually loud ish in there but fun! As for the food I wouldn't say I have had much Korean to compare it to. I will say it was mostly tasty but some were interesting textures and tastes. I like trying new things so I just have to figure out what's for me! Overall I will definitely go back with friends for more soju & try other dishes!

Super cute and vibey pocha in ktown!! When you walk in and get seated at the outdoor patio, it feels like you're on a rooftop and I love the open ceiling, perfect for a warm summer night. We got soju + beer, fish cake stew and bbq pork grill and this could have fed a party of 4. Everything was around $100 which is such a steal and I left feeling so content and stuffed. Really enjoyed dining here and will be back.

We came here during lunch time and we were really impressed! We tried their lunch special which was $13.50 for your choice of protein and came with a bunch of side dishes. The restaurant itself is spacious and I loved the outdoor area.

Solid place to eat and drink with friends. When I found out that OB Bear food was here I knew I had to come for their KFC wings. Their wings are still my favorite in Ktown. Crispy on the outside juicey in the inside. We also ordered: ( Good size portion on all dishes) Spicy Pan Fried Squid- This was also great. The squid was tender and flavorful. Combination Pancake and Seafood Pancake- I thought these were ok. Not much taste in the seafood pancake the combination pancake were better. Make sure you ask for extra dipping sauce. Budae Jjigae ( Army Stew) w/ extra Spam- No better way to end the night with all the drinking. This soup also hit the spot. Service- this was great for a Tuesday night. Parking- street ( read the sign carefully)or valet ($5) Overall happy to see OB Bear KFC here at Star Night.

Came here on a Thursday night and we were seated right away without waiting! This is a great place to hold large groups. You can street park or do the $5 valet parking which isn't too bad. The outdoor seating was so spacious and the fairy lights really brought a chill and aesthetic vibe to this place. Their menu is pretty expansive for a pocha. We got the fried chicken wings, corn cheese, seafood pancake, and kimchi and tofu. However the star of the night was the fried chicken wings - super hot and fresh. I just wish they had the sauce on the side but they ran out. The waiters were all super attentive to our group. They were quick to bring us anything we needed - utensils, plates, water, etc.

We love big portions and comforting dishes !! What we tried (*= fav): - Nacho fries - Fried chicken - *BBQ grill - *Rice cake platter (ddeokbokki) - *Spicy seafood soup (jjamppong) - Drinks: Raspberry piña and Star Night Special Drinks, food, bar, karaoke (can host up to 30 people)--this place has got it all!! Parking lot with valet in the front or park at madang plaza across the street. Great for casual catch ups and service is quick!

Such an amazing little spot. We did a day celebration and we were sad to see that the majority of karaoke spots didn't open until 6 or 7. We ended up here because it was the first one open and we are happy we came here. We got the "small room" which easily fit the six of us and had enough seating to maybe fit another five comfortably. The music selection feels endless and the food!! The food was delicious. Their wings are a must try. They have a doorbell that alerts your server so you can place orders without having to leave. They bring everything piping hot or nice and cold for the drinks. Definitely a place I'd go back to.

I really like this place. I love the atmosphere here. The outdoor patio seating has heaters all around. It's have very cute Christmas lights all around. This place is packed with people. Service was good. The bar food was also delicious. We got the clam soup with bean sprouts. It was perfect for the night. The soup is large and stays hot in the grill. It was perfect for the cold night. We also got the garlic fries and that came out hot and crispy. Overall, we had a great time here. There's a valet or street parking.

Ohmygod I dread the parking (can do valet) and long wait here but I love the vibes. Very loud, ambient lighting, and accommodates for larger parties. Ordered spicy fish cake, fried chicken wings, fish cake soup, and more -- honestly I blame capitalism becos these prices were not it for these dishes that get cold so easily. Lots of alcohol available

I would definitely get this again. There's so many tacos and burritos to choose from. We ended up getting the Taco Trio which was $12. Our favorite was the brisket. We chose the trio for the value but next time we would try the more extravagant tacos for a little bit more. The asian fried chicken burrito was the most surprising (in a good way). It had a little kick to it because of the fresno chiles. So if you like spicy and some crunch, this is for you. It is on the heavier side so you can split it with two people. Got some red velvet churros for dessert. My wife thought the homemade cream cheese frosting was kind of sweet, but i like it that way so I ate the whole thing. We were there until 1:45p, and the reserved tables were without people sitting in them. I approached him after my friend left and let him know I WAS RIGHT ;)))! Anyway, the ahi bowl needed some extra sauce and was a bit dry. Luckily, I had eaten a lot of their deliciousness guacamole with "new chips" that were perfect. We both took our leftovers home ... I absolutely respect our bartender's sticking to the protocol of "reservations "... however, sometimes one has to read the room. It was basically empty with just a few customers inside. Of course I will return ... Just had to say something... Highly recommended... maybe next time WE WILL MAKE A RESERVATION ;)))) Street parking is challenging but, again, I park down Larchmont and always find a spot...

Found Anju while searching for best group dinner spots in Koreatown Los Angeles and now I completely understand the hype. First off, making the reservation was incredibly easy. Being able to book a large party online without having to jump through hoops was a huge plus. When we arrived, we got seated almost immediately, which for a large group in KTown on a busy night felt impressive. Parking initially confused us a bit because of the plaza setup, but they offer valet and it ended up being super convenient and worth it. The vibe here is awesome. It's technically an outdoor restaurant, but it still feels intimate and lively. Perfect energy for groups, celebrations, birthdays, catching up with friends, or just hanging out over Korean BBQ and soju. Kyle was our server and genuinely made the night. Super attentive, very accommodating with our large party and baby, constantly checking in, pacing the meal well, and just brought great energy to the table all night. Service like that really changes the whole experience. Food-wise, the marinated beef was phenomenal. Easily one of the standout dishes of the night. So flavorful, tender, and the kind of dish everyone keeps reaching back for. We also ordered an octopus and pork dish that completely blew me away. Probably one of my favorite bites I've had in LA in a while. The asado-style platter wasn't my personal favorite compared to the marinated meats, but it still came with a generous amount and was great for sharing with a large table. We ordered a ton of food, beers, soju, shared plates, and left absolutely stuffed. Considering the amount of food, drinks, and the size of our party, we all felt like the value was really solid. Dessert is definitely more simple and traditional, so don't come expecting some massive dessert menu, but honestly the focus here is the food, drinks, atmosphere, and group dining experience. Overall, this is one of the best large group restaurants in Koreatown if you want great Korean food, strong service, fun social atmosphere, and a place that actually handles big parties well.
