We also had the kimchi pancakes as anju, and they were one of the highlights of the meal--crispy, flavorful, and a perfect match with a cold beer. The food, drinks, service, and atmosphere all made the experience special. This was honestly one of the best places I've visited for Korean food, drinks, and watching sports. The last time I went was on May 17th last year in 2025. All my group members went together, and we had an absolutely great time. I especially love that they have a private room where just our group can sit. However, if there are more than 12 of us, it gets too cramped to fit everyone in that room, so for larger groups, we would put two or three tables together outside to sit together. All the food and bar snacks here are delicious, but my absolute favorites are the kimchi fried rice, seafood green onion pancake, pollack roe pasta, french fries, sweet potato fries, and clam soup. These dishes are so, so good. The watermelon punch is also amazing. Whenever you go as a large group and order a lot of food, they offer a complimentary service to any customer where you can choose one or two free dishes (they usually give you a menu to pick from the appetizers or cheaper snacks). I really loved this perk, which is why I used to go there so often. Come to think of it, it's been over a year since I last went. I feel like we should definitely go back there for our next group gathering. The staff are always friendly every time I visit, and it's also really convenient and nice that you can call ahead to make a reservation if you have a large group.

I'm not sure what meat it was though as it wasn't listed on the section in the menu. The scallops were really good too. Nice and buttery. If you like eel/hag fish, you've got to order this! It comes with a side of sesame leaves you can wrap it in and a bed of onions underneath the delicious fish. Service: Staff are hospitable and attentive, will come by once in a while to see if there is anything you need (especially a refill on side dishes). Food: The restaurant focuses on the soups like haejangguk (해장국) or yeomsotang (염소탕) both of which taste amazing. The haejangguk here is served with oxblood (making it especially good for curing hangovers) and is served as regular or special (which contains more meat which is good if you want to share with another person). Tip: Be sure to add vinegar into the haejangguk for a deeper savory and rich taste. The goat stew is also very good and comes with a side dish of the same sauce used to make the soup which you can dip pieces of goat into. While it is served as an individual entree, I recommend ordering the hotpot version for the yeomsotang as the constant boil of the pot overtime makes only enhances the flavour of every ingredient and piece of meat inside overtime (which you can eventually add rice and egg to make it a black goat "fried rice") The side dishes here are great and is pretty easy to finish most of them before the main entrees come but the staff will be willing to bring more if you ever need it. This restaurant is sort of a hole-in-the-wall restaurant overshadowed by its next-door neighbor (Park's BBQ) but that doesn't make it any less as I can verify that it's very much legit as all the customers are only older-generation Koreans which means it is worth visiting for deeply nourishing and "more authentic" Korean dishes with good service.

Crisp, bright, and exactly what you need to cut through the richness of the soup. Service is friendly and attentive, but straight to the point. No frills, no hovering. You come here to eat. They're also one of the few spots that open at 7am. Cold morning? A bubbling hot bowl with a bottle of soju hits different. It's not Instagram food -- it's honest, old-school Korean comfort in a bowl. By the way, they also serve spicy squid stir fry (오징어 볶음) that's become one of our favorite dishes. Just the right amount of heat with real wok flavor. The squid and vegetables are fresh, tender, and perfectly cooked. If you want authentic 해장국 in K-town, Hanyang is hard to beat.
