Went to get a pedicure with my sister. The man who helped me left me sitting with my feet soaking for so long that the water went cold. He proceeded to cut the skin around my nail and I was bleeding for the rest of my visit. When he did it he tried blaming me for having dry skin or a hang nail. When we left my sister told me that my mom and her have been cut EVERY TIME he does their nails. It's so bad my mom hasn't gone back. Honestly, I'm not planning on going back either. Went in for a full set of nails after taking a nail break for almost two years....as soon as I sat down Lily proceeded to accuse me of writing her a bad check the last time I was in the salon. I was shocked and told her I would never do that, she insisted that I had and that I owed her $40! I kept telling her there was no way I would do that and why would I be coming back in to have my nails done if I had! I was so upset I told her to charge my debit card the $40 and left. As soon as I got home I went online and found the check written on 1-4-2018 and it was processed through my bank on 1-16-2018. Called Lily to let her know that her accusations were wrong and perhaps she was thinking of someone else! I was so upset and then to top it off they did not credit my debit card back the $40! A well priced nail salon in Salem! I've been coming here for about a year, having pedicures, acrylic nails, and most recently a full set of solar nails. Every time I come I love the finished look! Unlike other salons that I've tried...ive never been cut by their machines when they arent paying attention, they talk to you (yes in English), they also didnt talk about me to eachother. I am very picky with my nails and my technician always does exactly what I want. Yoyo did my most recent set of solar nails price was $45...not too high. ** long review, long story, they made me cry* My fiancé experience. Lady- person that did my nails Girl- another employee of the establishment I had an appointment . I was in there today. Around 3:30pm, moderately busy and I was just there to get a pedicure. As I walked in through the doors, I quickly got told to sit and wait. No big deal, mom and I picked a color. Peticure was okay. I wasn't asked what type of peticure I wanted but also not big deal, it was short but okay not memorable but not terrible. Mid way I asked if they had time and space for a mani cure, the lady said yes. So I decided to go for it. The manicure was done at like 4:30 i waited until 5 to leave but still careful with the manicure. I placed them in the fan but unfortunately two got ruined, so my fiancé took me back to get them fixed. I wasn't mad, I didn't want anything for free or my money back, all I wanted was to get them fixed. I walked in trying to talk to the lady that did my nails and wanted to explain that I waited and was being careful but two got ruined if she could fix them. Before the lady could answer The girl next to her responded sarcastically you should have waited longer and as I tried to explain that I knew that and that I did wait, the girl started to become more rude and loud at me. All I was trying to do was explain and be kind to them. she made me cry because of how rude and demeaning she was being when I wasn't being rude, I wasn't asking them to do it for free and I wasn't mad at anyone. When I talked to the lady about how rude the girl was being all she did was laugh at me. Same place.. bad idea I had to get the nails fixed so I did. I got them done at 6pm and left at 7pm (got kicked out at 7). Now being 9:30 the nails that did not mess up and have been done since 4:30pm are still wet and at least 3 have wrinkled. AND with the fan they placed me under the rest of the nails have a bunch of small air bubbles. I wish the other staff, such as the lovely man that helped my mom could be at another establishment, he was amazing. I cannot say the same for the two other people that helped me. I do not recommend. I normally go to a different nail salon, but recently moved and this one is closer to my house so I figured I'd try it out. The guy that did my nails was really nice and made it a point to have conversation while he worked, which was nice. Their establishment is clean and spacious, but their nails are crap. I got a full set of acrylics put back on and within just a few days they looked like they needed filled already. They lift super easy, the polish cracked and chipped and two have already fallen off- I was only in there a week ago! Not worth the money. read more

Na is the worst, she is so rude! Hands me the sandles to put on then practically yells at me to let her do it, I accidentally smudge a little part of the nail and she flips. Wish I could give a negative review. went for a manicure yesterday. Just a manicure $15 with a french tip nail paint ($5 extra) and a $5 tip. I thought the guy did an ok job. But the first time I put my hands in water the paint started chipping. No BASE coat, no TOP coat. Didn't even last a day. $25 spent and I need to paint my own nails a day later. I went in about a week ago and I will not be going back. I had never been to this location before and when I sat down I had asked if they happened to have a nail menu (you know, when they show their services and how much it cost). They responded that they didn't and then began to give me a very confusing description of the type of pedicures they offer. I had thought that we had come to an agreement about what it was looking to have done. So, I sat back to begin relaxing when the nail lady helping the person next to me starting talking shit about the conversation I just had. I know I don't speak Mandarin or Korean but I do know you are talking shit when every third word happens to be "menu" followed with head shaking and laughter. I was so pissed I just sat there and gave that bitch stink eye the whole time. It's not my fault that you don't post your services in a noticeable place forcing people to ask what you offer. read more

So today i went in to get my nails done like i always do every two weeks by lily!!! I have been stuggling to keep my nails because im a pregnant woman with not much money my other half offered to pay but me being a independent woman couldnt let him!!!! Well there was a woman sitting next to me while i was asking lily what we could do that didnt cost as much as my usual! This woman got up and left about 10 min in my session. Well in the middle of my nails getting done lily told me she was going to tell me something at the end of my session i said ok looking at her strange. Then about done with my nails lily told me that someone paid for my nails. I couldnt believe it i am so thankful this was truely a blessing and i am so greatful! Im pretty sure it was the woman sitting next to me! I hope that this woman is blessed the rest of the year and knows what a blessing she is to this world!!! Terrible pedicure. Not worth the money. Waited half an hour because the man who seemed to be in charge said it would be worth it. It was not. I gave them several chances and won't return. I always tip very well and each time was disappointed. The two times I had a mani they did not massage my hands and seemed to be in a hurry. I noticed a lady had an appt with the same tech and was waiting. Why should I feel rushed out? Another time I had an appt and waited 15 minutes I decided to leave, It looked like I would be waiting at least another 10 mins and my time is just as valuable. While having a pedi I was nicked and then bleed. The services last 30 min for 50 dollars that does not include my good tips. It use to be at least 45 mins to an hr with long messages. Over time the prices have gone up and the services have shortened. I know I'm not the only one who has noticed this. I think everyone is pleasant/nice but when I can go to other places without mentioning names that charge 50 dollars for an hr and also serve champagne, wine coffee or tea and are not rushing through like cattle that's more appealing. -Best wishes- read more

NEVER AGAIN! This place is awful! The first time I came in was just for a full set of acrylics with regular polish and they pushed me into getting the gel knowing I did not have the extra money for it. But I did it anyway because I was tired of arguing. A week later when they started coming off they were put on so thick that it hurt trying to get them the rest of the way off. I decided to go in a second time, that time I got their best nail tech, Thomas. He did an AMAZING job. Talked to me, made me feel comfortable and confident if I saw something I didn't like. Was so nice! I left so so happy! But i also got a pedicure and the girl that did my feet kept making rude remarks. My feet are not bad at all. There was a small rough patch of skin on my feet and she was like "time for surgery". When she started the massage she put gloves on and started making fun of me because my legs weren't completely shaved. I was working 60 hrs a week at the time and didn't have time to run home and shave my legs. She kept saying things to her co workers and they kept making jokes about how they should get the duct tape out or how i should go get my legs waxed just being mean. Third time (last time) I came in I had one of the girls. Barely speaks any English at all. As soon as I walked in the door she was grumpy. Threw her phone in the drawer like I was interrupting her. When she started applying the acrylic powder she kept layering and layering it till they looked fat. I told her it looked funny and she said "I'm not done!" So I shut my mouth. She decided to then file the crap out of them down. Started filing the sides, I told her I wanted rounded corners and instead the were slanted. The sides were so filed that you could see my original nail. It looked like she clipped the sides of. She asked me what I thought as if she fixed them and I pointed it out that they were clearly messed up and she kept saying "I'm not done! I'm not done!" So she played some powder and now they just look cakey and gross. So I said whatever. I complained to the one who started to paint my nails and he laughed at me and said he won't fix them. He spoke across the room to the owner and he said he would just give me $10 off next time as if I would ever come back! They're rude and unsanitary and not at all professional. This place sucks. I wish Thomas hadn't of left. If I could give no stars for "star nails" I would! read more

I've been here before but very disappointed in treatment today. Pedicure over in 15 minutes, equipment old (chairs) and don't work, young man who did the pedicure had somewhere more important to go because he cut drying time to five minutes and had jacket on and gone before I could get out of the chair. I've been to Star Nails several times for acrylics and I love them. For those of you who like to be chatty, they'll chat right along with you; for those who like silence when getting their nails done, they totally respect it [I'm not a big small talk person]. They're very percise and very, very good with what they do. My nails don't lift, the colors stay on, they are freaky thick, nor breakable thin and they really take their time to make sure things are perfect. I prefer Thomas, he spent a good two hours on my nails and they we fabulous. read more

My daughter asked the older nail technician for a mirror finish on one of her nails. The Nail Technician said they don't have that type of nail polish. My daughter asked if she could have a few little gems glued on one of her nails and was told my the older nail technician they didn't do that service, even though the person next to her was getting it done. The nail technician rushed through and my daughter ended up with nail polish that was not at all professional looking with bumps and uneven polish. My daughter was quite upset and pointed out a display of the mirror finish nail polish she wanted. When I brought this to the older nail technician she smirked and said "it's too late now". Then she went around lying to the other technicians that my daughter wanted the one color out of ten that was out of stock, which was not at all the case. She even had the audacity to look over me signing the credit card slip as a strategy to get a bigger tip. No tip for extremely rude and unprofessional nail technician. read more

Not good. I went in and the lady at the front was very rude. The guy doing my nails did a really bad job. They were very uneven some round some square. I asked him to fix them a bit but it only got worse. the price was not very good, it only took about 30 min to do and it was a real shotty job. Once I got back into my car I almost cried they were so bad and just flat out rude to me. I was temped to drive down the road to get them fix but there just nails. Not even a week later now I have had one fall off and the rest are all lifting. Getting my nails fixed today. Never again. Dirty, loud, they don't sanitize the clippers (not between me and the girl before me at least) just not a place for me. Ill find a place that is at least clean this time. read more

I received a really pretty full set for a reasonable price. They were really busy and a bit rushy but I did come in as a walk in so I can't fault them for that. I made myself a pedicure appointment to treat myself for my birthday which was that same day. They scheduled me for an afternoon appointment at which I arrive early and noticed a full couch/ waiting area of customers waiting. After already running 10 min or so late they called me back to just sit there and soak while others were done. Clearly they had overbooked. This was not my first visit and usually they turned people away but it was a lady scheduling instead of the normal man who I had always seen doing it. I was about to get up and re- schedule as I needed to get home. The nice lady next to me insisted I take her appointment insisted I take her appt as I should be treated on my bday. On my way out the same lady who was doing the scheduling spoke loudly saying that people who schedule a pedicure but than get a shellac pedi just put other behind. I was talked into by gal who did my nails that it was faster. Anyhow, all in all this made my day go from very good to bad. After today and my last experience with the same individual I won't be returning. read more

Bad deal! Like a factory. A bad factory. Absolutely no interaction from my pedicure technician. She was spaced out, looking away most of the time and when I involuntarily said "ow!" because she was hurting me with the cutters, she just repeated it back to me like I was nuts. She rushed me though the pedicure and did not even bother to remove polish hatchet she had slopped over onto other parts of my toes. I was placed into a tepid (not warm) whirlpool, and the entire procedure was 20 minutes... Including the minimal massage. Also, she coukd not remove my other polish with the remover, so opted to start scraping my nails with the blade of her cutter! Horrible! BIG disappointment and I will not be returning. I only went because my regular nail place was booked for the time I needed. And ladies, it was grimy and grubby inside. I'm not sure they are autoclaving or sterilizing their equipment. read more

I don't get pedicures often so when I do I want the experience to be a treat! I called for an appointment late in the day on a busy and hot Saturday. I was pleased they could get me within an hour. I arrived the same time two other ladies did and we were all seated in the massage chairs. I noticed that my nail tech seemed to be rushing through every process of the pedicure. My feet had their soak, polish was removed, nails clipped and filed, cuticles pushed down, and calluses scrubbed in a flash. She was a little rough in filing my nails, as it was a bit uncomfortable. During the very quick leg/foot massage, I looked over at the two other ladies and they were still having their nails meticously worked on. All in all my experience only lasted about 25 minutes (and that's after letting my toes dry for 5 minutes). 25 minutes - $25. I just felt the nail tech really did not want to be there. On the other hand the two other ladies pedicures probably lasted about 15 minutes longer and they seemed to have a very pleasant experience. I will keep looking for a nail salon where I feel relaxed and pampered with a nice long pedicure experience. read more

i got my nails done here and they were very nice but i asked for stiletto nails and told her i wanted them pretty long and she had the same nails as me and it costs $5 extra to just get a color added to them and my color was poo green because there's no where to test it out so i had to go home and paint over them. read more
