Right when I arrived at the shop, 3 nail techs swarmed me and didn't even give me a chance to pick out my color. She asked me what shape and length I wanted and I said "a medium length coffin" lol I got far from that. She also cut me several times and missed several spots on my nails with the acrylic.

I do not recommend this place. Unfortunately I made the decision to book an appointment here with what looked like the owner & got treated horribly. I make my appointment but then call and tell them I will be running late, and ask if there will be any issue. She says no that's fine and to come over. As soon as I get there, parking is already very hard to get into considering it's a tiny lot with multiple businesses and she only had about two parking spaces for her nail salon. I go up to the door and it's LOCKED. I attempt to call but no answer so I start walking away and she opens the door while chewing with her mouth open to ask "What I want" she did NOT greet me, just proceeded to ask to look at my hands and look me up and down. I told her I made the appointment and wanted to get a fill done. I ask if she still has time and she says yes and to take a seat. She starts commenting on my nails saying that they aren't the size I told her, and some other things mumbled I didn't comprehend. At this point I didn't feel comfortable anymore. She was already trying to rush and shoo me away. Telling me they close at 5pm and have other appointments but it was 4:05 at the time. Plenty of time for a fill. She could have let me know she had other people so I didn't waste time. read more

I randomly stumbled upon this salon and was so glad I stopped in. Chita was my nail tech. She pays close attention to detail and will make sure everything is perfect before you leave . I will definitely be back! Plus, look at those nails!!! So good! read more

Well, I won't go back. I was a walk in I wanted a polish change. The gal was not happy, kept asking why am really here? What do I need? Pretty rude. I didn't want gel and she did it anyway. There was another customer waiting for a pedicure and a personal message? Gross. Don't go here, there are plenty of other nail salon that will treat you better read more

So glad, I found this little gem of a nail salon. This one woman show is super detail orientated and took HER TIME. Making sure my pedicure and fill were as perfectly done as possible. No rushing or being passed around then leaving with one hand with thick nails one with thin ,with hardend bumps of acrylic on the under side of your nails. No more will I settle for uneven, crooked , differently shaped nails! Thank you, thank you "tiger, I don't remember how you told me your name was spelt. Only that it was kind of like tiger." So, tiger, the owner of Star Nails on E main in puyallup you are fantastic! My feet are always so dry, due to diabetes, and for years I've been going to this and that salon hoping to find one that would take the time to get all of it off. No matter what process they used, I not had good results. Star Nails was thorough, completely turning my dry feet into soft pink skin. She fixed my bad nail job from the place near Fred Meyer. And gave me a super design that I've been getting compliments on all day long, every where I go. My nails are perfectly shaped, perfect thickness. Let's not forget about my eye brows, THAT WERE CROOKED, like the left being almost 1/2 inch HIGHER than the right. " thanks nail salon by Fred Meyer for the uneven eyebrows!" And here I believed that's just how it was going to be, must be my face. "Tiger" did I mention she was the owner and sole employee? Said "NO, and grabbed a mirror showing me the differences in my brows. She could fix them, "YAY!". AND, I walked out with perfect feet, toes, nails and BROWS. Now the are evenly placed across from each other, instead of me looking like I'm raising my left one continuously. Thanks again for the time to took to make everything perfect. My mom and I came in on a saturday evening for pedi's and we were the only ones there so that was a plus! The lady working, who is also the owner, was very nice. She was friendly and took the time to get to know us. However.... Since there was only one worker, only one pedi at a time, which was fine. The pedi itself was not the best. She cut my nails WAY too short. The best part about a pedi is the foot massage which didn't happen here. She used body scrub on our calves for about 10 seconds and put lotion on and that was it. There was no foot massage!! As for the polish, she pretty much slapped it on and i have polish on my skin on some of my toes. Ugh. The WORST part is sanitation does NOT exist here. She shared the same tools between my mom and I and the tools looked very used and dingy.. gross. Also, after i already paid, saw a pedi was $18 but she charged me $20 for both plus i gave her a tip because thats just the right thing to do. Im really sad because the lady was so nice but man, that was probably one of the worst pedis I've ever gotten :( read more

Amazing pedicure!! My pedicure and smooth feet are awesome! The price is well worth the visit. I called in the morning to make an appointment in the afternoon, and I would recommend doing that. The owner is so nice and personable, there is only one person doing nails and she takes her time!! Which is unlike all the other salons who rush your pedicure to get to the next person. LOVE my pedicure, will definitely be going back. I have made this my new place when I need my nails done. read more

You can always tell when business owners have pride on their work. I walked by in here without an appt one morning because I needed a quick pedicure. Chita greeted me friendly and attended to me quickly. The place is small but quaint. She said it's just her and her husband and she gave her husband the day off because it's a holiday :) she did a thorough job on my pedicure it was very clean and she even recommended lotion for my very dry heels. I also needed eye brow wax but wasn't going to do it until it's grown out a little bit. She said it's grown enough :p she also did a touch up wax on my lip and chin. While there I went ahead and splurge for manicure. Just cleaning no nail polish as I work with my hands a lot. I had pedicure, manicure, eyebrow wax and lip wax all for $45. She did a great job and I will definitely come back and bring my mom with me for girls day. She recommended making an appt as she mention there is only two of them. And for those with ingrown nails she knows how to take care of that too. The service is good and the price even better. It's definitely my new place to get nails and waxing done. read more

Chita is my new favorite. I showed up last night just before closing time, fully expecting to be turned away. She took me in, did my fill and pedi, fixed all the issues that the last place created, and was a lovely person the whole time. Her family hung out there also, and they were kind and funny. It was an enjoyable evening all the way around. Highly recommend that you do not just walk in. Call for an appointment. Her calendar is on the wall and I saw that it was pretty full. I can't speak to Chita's work because she was so rude when I went in that I didn't go back at the time slot she had open later. She was very dismissive and rude, even a bit of making fun of my nails being coffin shaped. I won't go back. read more

I literally walked in and there was one nail tech and she looked at me and said "sorry, I don't have time" She was currently working on someone. I just hate the fact that I just got there, had not been there for more than 3 seconds and she immediately says she has no time for me when they are open until 7 pm. I came in at 5:30. read more

She's vary friendly and is not as pricey as many other places are I got a full French tip set for 25$ and fills are 15$. But you probably want to call her before hand to set up a time to come in. I can usually call the day of if she's not to busy. read more

Chita did an acrylic fill with a top gel for only 20$! Amazing job, making sure it was up to my standards as well as her own (perfectionist). Very talkative and interactive during the entire visit. Very personable, nice, and pleasant. Prefers customers to schedule appointments as she is very busy especially on weekends. But walk ins are welcome. My mother got a pedicure for 20$ as well and loved the experience. We were running a few minutes late for our appointment she Chita called me to make sure I was almost there or she would have called other clients to see if they wanted to come in early. This place really needs to work on their customer service on the phone or hire someone who speaks fluent English. All I asked was how much a manicure and shellac. The lady on the phone just kept asking me what time and if I still have polish on my nails. I told her I'd come in in 30 minutes and I had shellac on my nails. She replied sorry I can't next time, she didn't even try to schedule me for later or answer my first question about price. So disappointed. read more

I want to start by saying…read moreI am a licensed MASTER esthetician myself that graduated from Clover Park Tech in 2021 who then went and got further education for to be a Laser Technician I went to get my Brazilian waxed for the first time in my life and I left feeling mortified, shamed, and was treated in a manner I would never treat a client. Betty scolded me and made remarks about my body and stretch marks while I was in my most vulnerable state. She had a Trainee wax me post putting me on the spot and while being waxed, some of the wax had accidentally gotten flicked onto Betty's scrubs. She then used the trainee's hand that had just been waxing me to remove the wax from her scrub to then put the same hand back onto my private area being completely unsanitary. As a licensed esthetician I knew it was unhygienic and as a woman I was in a vulnerable position and mortified. Her after care kit consisted of bath and body works 'warm vanilla sugar' hand sanitizer that she instructed me to use to sanitize my private area. This product should NEVER be used NEAR or ON your private area and especially not on open follicles that can lead to bacteria, infection, and irritation. She also said to use Curel lotion to soothe the area after using hand sanitizer. This kit was a joke and so was her business. I paid full price for an UNLICENSED trainee to wax me while being simultaneously humiliated by this businesses owner.

I thought the redness would go away the next day. But it looked and felt like a sun burn. It eventually peeled but there is still a pink line on my nose. I did let the lady know about it. She just said next time she would not over exfoliate but I am too disappointed to return. I am looking into other spas and will be extremely clear what I don't want. Unfortunately, in this case, it did. I've been here a few times for lashes and once previously for hair, and my first hair appointment was great. The stylist was gentle, communicative, and professional. I loved my hair, was shown products afterward, and happily purchased them. I left feeling taken care of. This second hair appointment was a completely different experience. I was greeted by a young stylist who seemed pleasant and understood what I wanted. However, once she began, I immediately noticed she had extremely long, sharp acrylic nails (about 1.5-2 inches). While I have nothing against acrylics--I wear them myself--there needs to be a limit in a professional setting, especially when working so closely with a client's scalp and hair. She colored my hair without gloves, which already made me uncomfortable. Throughout brushing, coloring, and washing, my hair repeatedly got caught in her lifting acrylics. My hair was yanked out multiple times, and at points it was genuinely painful. Holding a brush seemed difficult for her, and the brushing was rough and uncomfortable. The shampoo experience was by far the worst I've ever had. Normally, that's my favorite part of a salon visit. Instead, due to her nails, she couldn't properly massage or clean my scalp. The shampoo barely reached my roots, yet my hair was pulled the most at the bowl. My scalp was sore for two days afterward, to the point where brushing hurt. I'm a mom of three and a full-time college student, so self-care time is rare. I was really looking forward to relaxing--maybe even reading--but it was hard to focus through the discomfort. On top of that, the stylist seemed mentally checked out, asking me the same questions twice and lacking awareness of the situation. When the service ended, she simply removed my robe and said thanks for coming. No walk-out, no product recommendations. I had planned on purchasing shampoo, conditioner, and heat protectant again, but I left without anything. I still paid for the service and left a tip. After taking a few days to cool off, I felt this needed to be said. This experience was unsanitary, painful, and disappointing. My hair turned out "meh"--the haircut felt rushed, I didn't get the layers I asked for, and highlights alone don't make up for the experience. I truly loved coming here, but after this, it won't be my salon anymore. If you come here for hair services, I strongly recommend choosing a stylist whose nails allow them to work safely, hygienically, and comfortably--preferably ones that can fit inside gloves.

I came here based on the reviews from Yelp and I am so glad I did. As long as I'm in this area, I will not go to any other nail salon. I like Chita's spunky personality, and she does an exceptional job. She is upfront about pricing, very attention to detail, considerate of requests for shaping, color and length of nails, and is incredibly consistent in the quality work she does. I was looking for a nail place while my daughter is having her 2 hrs dance classes in downtown. This was the only place with no bad reviews so I had to go for it. Chita owns and is the only nail tech. You need to call ahead always but sometime she can get you in right away! She's nice and friendly but she's the only nail tech and will tell you she doesn't have time for you right away if she doesn't great quality work!!! read more
