I'll never go here again. I was going to give it 1 star, but the only reason I gave it 2 is bc the very first time I came here I had a good experience-- the boss did my Brazilian wax and she was very professional & did a great job. But the second time I went, I don't remember the ladies name, she was a young Asian lady, her customer service was POOR. But that's not even the worst part. She double dipped my wax stick the whole time she was waxing. I felt disgusted bc at that moment I realized I wasn't the first or last customer she was going to dip their coochie sticks into the pit of wax that many customers use. & it just so happened to be the first & only time I left a wax with a BURNING sensation all over my pubic hair. I literally was burned or had a rash which caused so many ingrowns. I also had a Groupon, but she lied and said they no longer take groupons but I had just bought the Groupon 2 days before and mentioned the Groupon while making my appointment over the phone. Anyways, I wouldn't suggest going here really bc the double dipping of the sticks. That really concerns me. read more

I had a great experience as a first time waxer. I bought a Groupon and they squeezed me in for the next day. The owner greeted me and was incredibly kind and helpful. The other ladies in the waiting room shared that they've been coming to this salon 8-10+ years and that they would never go anywhere else. My waxer Felicia greeted me and showed me to the room, where she continued to share information on what to expect and the process. She was fast and incredibly attentive, and explained each step to me. She made sure I was okay, and we had great conversation the whole time. Based on my research, I wasn't expecting to come out completely bald since I have very thick hair and have been shaving for years. But she got EVERYTHING, even my ingrowns. I genuinely believe it wasn't that painful because of how talented and professional the estheticians are here. After an after-care talk, I booked for my next appointment at the front desk. I just moved to Washington from Arizona and have been searching for a esthetic salon that was decently priced, and boy did I find it! I came to Dianna here at Essential Esthetics all because of a Livingsocial offer! Well best offer I have purchased from any of those discount coupon sites! From making my appointment to meeting Dianna in person I knew I could trust her with what I need to get done with professionalism and TLC since it was my first time getting this kind of service done. She was amazing in coaching me through it and I survived! I haven't stopped seeing her, especially since she recommends every 4 weeks to get "touched up". Dianna owns this business and has since moved from leasing a space at Salon Da Vinci to her current space which is adjacent to the Taco Bell on Meridian and into the building where there is a salon on the bottom floor and various other businesses. You can park in the tiny lot or at the Taco Bell. After you have reached the second floor, there is a little doorway which is a set of stairs leading you up to her office. She has her own space up there, just the rooms in suite 300! She has also hired a few more people to help grow and accommodate more people in her business but I prefer my Dianna. She is awesome, listens to me as she works away and before I know it I'm all done! Her prices are way too reasonable than any other place who would charge you an arm and a leg (literally). So let me start off with I've been getting a Brazilian wax for over two years, and this being the second time I have come to this establishment. The very first time I went in July, before vacation, the technician was lovely and the Brazilian I received was virtually painless. Only complaint I had at that visit was that she missed a couple areas, and the service seemed rushed. When going to book my next appointment on their webpage, I noticed a lot of the girls changed. Because the girl who first worked on me was no longer an option, I selected the owner to do my next wax so that I would know what her standards were for this service, to prevent confusion with future appointments. Fast forward if you will to yesterday. Not only was I not properly checked in or anything, but they passed me off to what had to have been a new technician, Mariana (I want to say.) Now, I say she must have been new, because within the first 5 minuets you could tell her wax technique wasn't consistent with other technicians. What is supposed to be a 30 minuet window, was an hour and a half long appointment, during which I received burns to my genitals because of the temperature of the wax, and have scabs and bruising from improper technique. Never have I been in so much pain from a Brazilian, that I have cried, especially not while being worked on. Upon returning home, I examine my genitals to see the damage done. There's still hair everywhere she waxed,even though certain areas she went over it 5 times, because her technique is off. There was still blue-green wax on my skin. The skin is pealing in spots. The amount of oil and powder she used loosen wax stuck in hair was excessive and still evident in the hair left on the supposed waxed parts of my body. I have a 3 inch burn on the crease of my thigh from the wax, as well as splotches of burns on the top of my genitals. I sang praises about this shop after my first visit, because I really did think it was great. After the damage of yesterday's appointment, I'm not going back. read more

Had my first ever facial here and it was amazing! When I called to make the appointment, the receptionist helped me determine which facial would be best for me. I was originally interested in one of their more expensive facials but after asking me some questions, she informed me that facial wasn't really right for me. I really appreciated that she didn't take advantage of my lack of knowledge and just schedule me for a super expensive service. A woman named Tu did my facial and she did such an amazing job!
