I also have a condition that causes extra nails to grow and in the past, technicians have either clipped them off completely or ripped them out causing me to bleed. Its made me wary of going to nail salons but I really do need help sometimes. The staff here greeted me warmly, they were very gentle, nonjudgmental, and understanding. Everything was very clean and I'm pleased to find a place that has waterless pedicures. I will definitely be back.

I initially didn't plan to write a review since this appointment was over two years ago, but the experience stuck with me. I remember leaving feeling uncomfortable and not welcomed, which says a lot given how many nail salons I've been to. I felt it was important to share and I hope this was just a singular customer experience and off day for the salon. Update: Thank you for your response! I truly appreciated it and I completely understand your perspective. I know it's been some time, but the experience stayed with me, which is why I felt comfortable sharing it now. My intention wasn't to reflect your current team, and I truly hope things have continued to grow and improve since then. Wishing you and your staff all the best.

Here is the email I just sent to Oakes and Alder:…read more Hello. Today I attended a 90 minute massage with Laurinda. About 50 minutes into the massage, she moved from my neck down to my left leg. I noticed that the deep pressure felt on my neck became surprisingly light and she had one a on me instead of two. She was working on my inner thigh. I also felt a light rhythmic bounce of the table. I looked up and saw the blue screen of her phone reflecting on her face. She was texting. I said "are you serious?" And she gently told me it was an issue with security and the front door. She said because there isn't someone to cover the desk she was making sure somebody locked the door. She asked me if I understood and then I told her I was very uncomfortable with her being on her phone with one hand on me and while I was naked no less. She asked me if I wanted her to stop and I said yes. She said it would be no charge, apologized and then I burst into tears. She left the room. I got dressed and left. To be clear, in my mind, there is no part of this that was acceptable. If there is a front door issue, then that is some thing that should be addressed so that a therapist does not need to be on their phone mid massage. And if this is not the case, it is just bottom line unacceptable to assume it is OK for any practitioner to have a phone on in the room during a treatment. This was the first time in well over a year that I have tried to have a massage. My husband died five months ago, and I've been carrying around a world of stress. This was an appointment that I made in an attempt for self-care and I am extremely disappointed in how much it feels like it backfired. I have literally not been touched in by anybody in months and months, and this was an attempt at working through some of the muscle tension and grief that I have been storing in my body. I find the use of phones in this space not only a privacy issue but also potentially dangerous. A practicioner, especially with hands on a person's body, should not be multi-tasking while treating. I'm not sure if this is an industry issue but I am certainly done with massage. I hope you will address this at your studio. Lucie

The first time I sat in her chair she was faced with a major hair disaster and she just intuitively knew exactly what to do -- no lengthy consultation, no hesitation, just pure skill and instinct. She completely turned it around. Beyond her talent, Ciri is simply one of the best people to spend time with, especially during a color appointment. She's warm, friendly, and genuinely fun to talk to, which makes the whole experience something I actually look forward to rather than just another errand. If you're looking for a stylist who truly listens, has an incredible eye, and makes you feel completely at ease, Ciri is your person. She's an absolute gem!

    * Beware, your time is not valued here…read more What I am hearing in your response is that because the consultation is 15 minutes and complimentary, it is acceptable to change or adjust it as needed. Not one, two, or three times but as your company wants. Got it! My concern is that, regardless of whether the consultation was free, I still secured my appointment as requested with a credit card and set aside my time in good faith. From a client's perspective, a scheduled appointment is still a commitment, and repeated last-minute changes make it feel as though the client's time is less valued. If the situation were reversed and I had made multiple same-day changes or cancellations, I would have been subject to a fee. That difference in expectations is what I found frustrating and ultimately led to my decision to cancel. This is not about the consultation itself, but about mutual respect for time and consistency in how scheduling policies are applied.
