I would not recommend this place. When booking you get the automated messages about your appointment being booked and your typical please confirm. On top of this the owner texted me several times from what I am assuming is her personal phone. Per the policy at this place, you have 24 hours to cancel. I work night shift 12 hours and have limited availability when I can do things. I was going to confirm until this morning I received a text message that seemed desperate to me. For a place I thought was doing well I wouldn't anticipate receiving these texts. I went online and cancelled and her is what I had written back to me. Mind you, this is the owner as well. If I could give 0 star's I would. I want to start by saying I am a licensed MASTER esthetician myself that graduated from Clover Park Tech in 2021 who then went and got further education for to be a Laser Technician I went to get my Brazilian waxed for the first time in my life and I left feeling mortified, shamed, and was treated in a manner I would never treat a client. Betty scolded me and made remarks about my body and stretch marks while I was in my most vulnerable state. She had a Trainee wax me post putting me on the spot and while being waxed, some of the wax had accidentally gotten flicked onto Betty's scrubs. She then used the trainee's hand that had just been waxing me to remove the wax from her scrub to then put the same hand back onto my private area being completely unsanitary. As a licensed esthetician I knew it was unhygienic and as a woman I was in a vulnerable position and mortified. Her after care kit consisted of bath and body works 'warm vanilla sugar' hand sanitizer that she instructed me to use to sanitize my private area. This product should NEVER be used NEAR or ON your private area and especially not on open follicles that can lead to bacteria, infection, and irritation. She also said to use Curel lotion to soothe the area after using hand sanitizer. This kit was a joke and so was her business. I paid full price for an UNLICENSED trainee to wax me while being simultaneously humiliated by this businesses owner. read more

I've been wanting to get "sugared" for awhile now and I'm glad I finally decided to schedule my appointment with Betty. Considering the fact that I never gotten waxed or anything like that, I was a bit nervous and didnt know what to expect. Betty made the experience pleasant and assured me that everything would be fine. She explained the whole entire process, what to expect, and what I needed to do while being sugared. She also went into detail about the after care process, what I need to do and what not to do. I can honestly say I had a very nice experience considering the fact ;) I love how she takes so much pride in her work. She was very meticulous and made sure that each strand of hair was out. I was extremely nervous about getting my first manzilian! I did this for confidence and hygiene but my body type is as Gabriel Iglesias describes it as fluffy. Hence I am very self conscious. While setting up the appointment Betty Lou was very positive and very informative relieving a lot of my concern. Betty Lou is truly the best in the biz! The spa is one of the cleanest I have ever seen. She is thorough, fast, and a perfectionist. She makes sure every single hair is gone from my cookie, and I can't say enough good things about her. So this was my first time getting waxed/sugaring ever. Plus, I hadn't shaved since, like, the Truman administration, so Betty Lou had her work cut out for her. A hack-saw may have been a better choice, but she weathered through like a champ while taking me from Robin Williams to baby smooth. It gives me such a huge confidence boost! First impressions is a bit cliché, but it really does matter! I used to wax (years ago), then did laser treatment for two years. Sugaring is the new "in" (or maybe I live under a rock? ) & I wanted in on it too. I came across Sugar Cookie & Spa, called the shop & scheduled with Betty Lou. Betty did amazing with explaining the process & calming my nerves. Arrived to my appointment and was assisted by Mikayla, who did my sugaring. Entered the room & I felt at ease (each room has a theme!); they even offer to watch a movie to distract from the nervousness. The appointment itself was a breeze (pain was about a 2/10, there's just those parts that !!!). Mikayla remained professional, informative & friendly; I did not feel uncomfortable throughout the process, it was like chatting with one of my girl friends. Once the sugaring was done, I was given a brochure + exfoliating gloves + aloe & lotion for my after-care. Mikayla went over the after-care routine & explained the importance of the first few days after getting sugared. I scheduled my next appointment & was on my way!
