First time getting my nails done here. Was not greeted when I walked in. A man was on his laptop and ignored me. When he finally took the time to ask me what I was there for (manicure), he had me sit at his station until he offered me a pedicure, then got irritated when I said okay! Salon was filthy with dust and cobwebs everywhere. Nail polish colors were outdated, dried up, and very disorganized, and not much to choose from. They insisted on using an electric drill on my natural nails when I mentioned I did not want so, and I felt rushed. read more

Best gel manicure I've had since moving to Maryland. Took one star away because they do not have proper ventilation the smell is so strong.

The nails were not completed properly. My thumbnail, especially is very bumpy. I'm not very pushy and every time I go there they give me their worst nail technician. read more

If the tech would have been as concerned with my nails as he was with the game I wouldn't have had to come back to have my nails fixed for a break within the week. Within two another break happened. I'm here in vacation for the holiday and haven't done anything remotely strenuous to cause a break. Would not recommend the salon. Paid another salon to fix their mess today. They educated my their work wasn't holding up. All I have to say is if you're going to be in the business you need to know it's one where you'll need to continue your education as things change and new things come along. Would not go back and would not recommend. Save your money and go to a salon who cares enough to A. Educate themselves B. Educate you and C. David at Star Nails took the time needed to do an excellent job on my pedicure and gel manicure. He was not rushed and I wanted a natural manicure and he gave me a couple options instead of automatically going to the go-to French pink. He also looked at each stage of his work before moving on to the next step and did not use the dremel which I appreciated.I will definitely go back. Highly impressed. read more

THOROUGHLY DISAPPOINTED. Was recommend Star Nails by a friend and will NEVER be returning. My friends and I went with our Bridesmaids party and every single one of our nails were below unsatisfactory. A majority of the party requested a full set of gel acrylics and pedicures from multiple different nail technicians. We were left with bubbled, chipped, rippled, smudged, peeling and bleeding nails. The technicians messed up the manicures multiple times and we requested to get the nails fixed, but were never satisfied. One of the girls was left with extremely short broken toenails due to cutting and filing to short to the point of her experiencing extreme pain during the salon visit and after. With a whole group of 7 girls, getting acrylic manicures and regular pedicures, we were being rushed in and out of the nail salon in UNDER 3 HOURS as if we were unimportant and being bothersome. We called in advance to check if they had available time and they responded with we have a substantial amount of time. We went into the salon at 2:30pm and left at around 5:00pm. Many of the nail technicians were rude and disrespectful, grabbing our hands violently and roughly. Hours after the nail appointment, we discovered how poor each of our nails were. We were unreasonably over charged for the services provided. We attempted to reach the salon over the phone to ask to speak to a manager and be refunded but we were ignored. Customer service at Star Nails deserves 0 Stars and I wouldn't recommend it to my worst enemy. read more

It's not until I get away from my small desert town that I realize what a hick it's turned me into - or just how much I'm missing out on. Like the perfect pedicure, artfully administered with professional grace. Oh, and them brand new, highfalutin city-folk chairs.... that do the back rubbin' and the foot soothin' (with remotes that aren't duct taped together). Toes be lookin' mighty fine just two weeks later. What a modern marvel. There's a lady (the owner?) that gives everyone the stink eye, but maybe her face just looks like that. I came here today with my mom and sister in law so we could all get pedicures and manicures before our family vacation. They sat all of us together for our pedicures so we could all talk which was nice. We all got spa pedicures and omg was it relaxing. 10/10 recommend. Then we all got our nails done. I showed her a picture of what I wanted and usually when I go places and do this it never looks like the picture I ask for but here... she did it EXACTLY how I wanted. I got a full set of gel acrylics with a coffin shape and she made the shape perfect along with how I wanted the tips done. I couldn't be happier, thank you star nails!! read more

I am quite happy with Star Nail. It is a small intimate salon. The prices are competitive with other salons, as well as, they don't nickel and dime you for every little service. In the past I have had my nails done by each of the nail techs with no complaints, however, I adore Lynn and try to see her every 2 weeks for a gel fill and occasionally a pedicure. Lynn is very personable and doesn't rush through the process. If I have an appointment scheduled then she is ready for me at the appointment time which I really appreciate because I have had issues in the past at other salons where I've waited 45+ minutes for a scheduled appointment. They recently updated the salon and I am very impressed with the changes. read more

We went to back to show them what happened and they charged us for their shitty job the first time around and didn't offer compensation or anything. My gel manicure has chipped after 4 DAYS!! 4!!! I am so disappointed. Multiple nails are chipping. In addition the whole experience was so rushed. No wonder they are chipping. She barely let them cure under the UV light. I was in and out in 45 minutes and I had a gel manicure, pedicure, and eyebrow wax. how ridiculous!!! Horrible experience. I decided to try this place on a whim because my usual salon was too busy. I got a gel manicure from the lady at the first table and I had a weird feeling from the get go when she asked me to pick a color as soon as she set the basket of 200 samples in front of me. I told her a needed a minute but she just stared at me and I felt so rushed I picked some random color I wound up hating. That was just the beginning. The whole gel manicure took this lady maybe 25 minutes! She was rushing like she couldn't wait to get me out of there. Filing like mad, dropping things, roughly pushing my hand into the water bowl, cutting my cuticles so fast and haphazardly she cut me. The speed at which she painted my nails made an extremely sloppy application. She was so rushed she wasn't even letting me keep my hand in the UV lamp for 60 seconds! I left and went to my car only to inspect the damage and notice three of my nails were peeling at the edges. I went back and she was already watching a movie on her iPad (I guess that's why she was rushing to get me out of there!) and showed them to her and she said something about my cuticles and started cutting them. I told her the issue wasn't my cuticles it was the gel polish peeling. She rushed to fix two of the three and blamed it on the polish being new. I am completely dissatisfied with what my nails look like now but I am not going back to deal with her. 30 bucks plus a 5 dollar tip out the window! Never again! read more

Arrived at 6:55pm and waited about 15 minutes for a pedicure. The technician sat down and didn't say a word to me at first. She continued to engage in conversation with her co-worker. I had to ask her to cut my toe nails; she just went to filing without asking my preference. It took about 5 minutes to cut, file, and scrub my feet. It then took her about 15 minutes to massage my legs and feet, which was not a pleasant experience. During the 20 minutes, she continued to engage in conversation with her co-worker. The only part that was enjoyable was the hot towel wrapped around my legs. I wish she had paid more attention to my pedicure and detail, not her co-worker. I will not be a returning customer. read more

AWFUL EXPERIENCE. Did not talk too me once but only to convince me to pay more for gel after I said no thank you twice. My manicure took an exact total of 4 minutes. She didn't even try, she clipped my cuticles so fast I bled . She then got mad at me for bleeding...? THEN, put so much stuff on my cut to try to stop bleeding so she could be done with me that she infected my cut. Horrible customer service, horrible job. Never recommend . read more
