I took my car here for repairs, and I had to take the car back not one.... not two.... but three times because the service department kept messing up my car. They also finagled the dates on which I rented their in-house car so that they could use my rental reimbursement to cover themselves. On top of that, my car just broke down today (1.5 months after being repaired) due to the same issues that I had before I took it in for repairs. Not only will I be spreading the word about their bad business, but I'll be taking legal action against them. Such a shame. read more

Service Department Review. Typical "old-school" crooks. Tried to use a recall repair to "find" things wrong with my wife's car. Their "required" full-circle inspection gives them license to poke around and find anything to scare you with. Her car's report card came back with them saying her wiper blades required "further attention". I HAD JUST CHANGED THEM MYSELF two weeks prior. Including the rear window blade. They said the drive belt was cracked and required "immediate attention". The drive belt had typical hairline rib splits over the pulleys. These are high markup jobs for dealers. Good riddance. Glendale Star Mazda is the greatest. They greet me by my name upon arrival and give me the Star Treatment even when the appointment is a simple oil change! I usually try to bring in a clean car but yesterday the car wash went down right before my turn so I came to my service date covered in sap, cobwebs and leaves and probably a squirrel or two in there! Not only did they deliver it to me washed, but they did a vacuum inside too! And, after the complimentary tire rotation, the side walls look brand new with a wipe of Armor-All. This is a long one, I was waiting to hear back from the general manager before going the route of public review but I had no response. Here you go. Purchased a used Ford Edge for my wife in October 2014. The sales woman Edita was very accommodating, we were able to purchase the car quickly and I was on my way. Upon arriving at home we realized there were a few broken items on the car. The weather strip of the sunroof fell off when the sunroof was opened, the seat belt cover on the drivers side was missing and an air vent in the rear was broken. I immediately call Edita and she told me not to worry, bring in the car and we will take care of everything. Being that these issues were not of personal safety my wife drove the car for about 2-3 weeks. Then she started to notice other things, complaints about the brakes not working, the lights not shutting off while driving the car and the heater not working. My main concern being the brakes, I drove the car to find the brakes almost did not work at all!! Immediately I called and was connected with Aldo the sales manager who denied repair of the items stating that it had been too long since the purchase and that nothing could be done on their side. My argument...... I did not purchase the warranty because I was ensured that EVERY car that is sold through Mazda passes a vigorous inspection. Being that the car is only a 2012 I believed the car should be in great shape, not unsafe to drive. Here is the total list of everything that was found to be broken on the car that supposedly passed a rigorous inspection: 1. Power brake booster 2. Heater blower fan 3. Driver side door latch (cause of lights not working) 4. Sunroof weather strip not attached 5. Heater vent in back seat 6. Seat belt cover After about a week of negotiation with Aldo I was told everything would be taken care of, great news!!! The day I picked up the car (Christmas Eve), I was dropped off by a friend. Aldo and I went through the list of items for me to find out they did not fix two of the items (drivers door latch & seat belt cover). I was so frustrated, It was Christmas Eve, I was dropped off and had to take the car home. I was told that they could not approve the door to be fixed, then why tell me everything was fixed? An obvious lie to get me to pick up the car. Understanding that I would not get any further I then reached out to Mark Castro the General Manager of the dealership. I attempted to contact him via email and voice mail with no response. Realizing I never want to deal with this group again I took the car to my personal mechanic to have the final items fixed with a bill of $617.86 I recommend shopping elsewhere, you be the judge! read more

As a first-time new car purchase, this transaction was handled by professional, sincere, incredible individuals. The person who helped me through everything was Kyle, the Internet Sales Manager. When we arrived to check out the dealership for the first time, although there was no one to immediately help us, we were approached on three different occasions to ask if we'd been helped, and they made sure to find someone to help us as soon as possible. Kyle offered to help us, and he took us on a test drive while explaining all the details of the car (which he did twice, thankfully, helping me completely understand what features my car came with, and all of the cool gadgets and abilities). Kyle was diligent, answering any question or concern I had, never losing patience, making sure I was totally and completely informed on the entire process. He was easy to communicate with whenever I needed answers. He still is very helpful, answering questions for me even after purchase. He is one of the hardest workers I've met, being approachable and good-natured. Also - Not only did he make sure to track down the exact car (drivetrain, color, model, package) I wanted, he was informative on the process all the way through, which is exactly what I needed as a first-time car buyer. I was blown away by the staff here, because when I'd went to another dealership (I won't mention who!), they treated my mother and I with absolute rude behavior, unlike Kyle, who was instantly informative, helpful, and didn't treat my mother and I like idiots. He was very professional all the way through, and my mother and I were able to tell right off the bat that we were in good hands. Not only did I get the EXACT car I'd been looking for, I got it at a great price. Looking at all of the other dealerships, their base price was higher for the specific car I was looking for, unlike Star Mazda, who had very fair pricing. I wasn't expecting to get exactly what I wanted, I was prepared to have a different color than I'd preferred, or something to go wrong, but he made sure I got the right one. I'm more than satisfied with my purchase, and the kind staff, who always checks up on their customers who are waiting to make sure they are comfortable, and being helped. I have a 2006 Mazda 3 with a 5-speed manual. My clutch was shot at 20K miles and Star Mazda refused to fix it under warranty, saying it's beyond the "wear & tear" coverage. They went on telling me how its my fault and i must be very hard on my clutch and I shouldn't race around so much and ride the clutch. WTF!? Seriously?! I BABY my car.... I don't race it around, pop the clutch or do "burn-outs" EVER. I take very good care of my car and that was a total insult. I argued for what seemed like ages with the service department about this... even their boss, to no avail. $1600 later in repairs & $100 later in rental car fees, I had my car back after 4 days. If there was a closer Mazda dealer to me, I'd go in a second! But The nearest one is Galpin and it takes for EVER to get there with traffic. *Honestly, I'm starting to think it's worth the extra long drive in traffic just to deal with a more reputable dealership. *shakes fist in air* Oh, don't even get me started on how they lie about what else needs to be replaced...... When I had just about 10K miles on my car, they told me my front & rear brake pads and rotors were shot. I was SHOCKED! They said it wasn't covered under the warranty and needed to be replaced before they could give the car back to me because it was a "safety issue." Again, I take extreme care when dealing with my car. I don't ride the brakes or stop last minute. Upon asking for the manager, I went OFF and told them I wanted to see PROOF that the pads & rotors were shot. As soon as I started walking back to where my car was being stored, they immediately changed their tone and said they would take care it. 10 minutes later the manager comes back and says there was absolutely nothing wrong with my pads of rotors and they tech that inspected them was wrong. You guys, you're doing it wrong! Lease the car, get the service package and stop worrying. The best thing about this is if ever something malfunctions in your car, you just take it back in and say, "Hey YOU'RE car isn't working right, can you please fix it?" and they'll fix it. Instructions on How to Buy a Car: 1. Do no buy, lease. 2. Go to Costco Auto Program website, if you want the best deal and fill it out. One of the internet sales people from your local car dealer will contact you very soon. (I got Kyle. He's great! I emailed him the night before I decided to get my Mazda3 and he had it washed and gassed up by the time they opened. With all the paper work and coffee, I was out of there in a little less than 2 hours!) 3. Go test drive the car and any other car you are interested in... a lot! 4. Internet Sales will show you what they paid for the car and what you are paying for the car. Don't forget to look online and ask if you qualify for any discounts! Next, figure out how much you want to put down as a down payment and... boom! You have a car. I had a Ford Taurus for a long time then a Mazda 6 I bought from a different dealer a few years ago. Mazda's are great cars but mine was acting up after 4 years so after replacing the A/C, the tires and a few other things I decided to never buy again. And I couldn't be happier! I was looking for a sedan, but not a granny car, and the Mazda6 fit that profile. I went to other place son the Brand Blvd before here to test drive cars (Ford Fusion, Chevy Malibu, etc) but The Mazdas look so cool and they really are pretty great cars. So I come here for a test drive. The salesman was an older gentleman I guess from the old school as he just let me drive it only making a few comments along the way (no pressure, no upselling). Came back to the dealership and met the service department people, who are some of the coolest (and fastest-working) mechanics I know now. I bought the car a week later. The lady doing my paperwork was very clear and explained all the legalese clearly. I know what I signed and why. Talking to the money man was fun. It was kind of that high-pressure environment of negotiation but I ended up with 0% APR at about $700 less than sticker (not Dealer price, but close). When I finally got my car the salesman did a very thorough job of explaining all the features of the car and helped me set up the car Bluetooth (which is SO awesome btw) to match my phone. Drove off that day! While the salespeople here are kinda shifty, The service department is total opposite. Outgoing, friendly, fast. If the car takes too long to fix (rare), they will set you up with Enterprise for a quick rental for the day or weekend. I have come back to this location time and time again for all my service needs, even though I could go to Jiffy Lube and whatever, my Warranty covers oil changes, brakes, and a whole slew of other things I don't even remember. I love this place and if you're looking even to just test drive these great cars, engage the salesmen (you only would see them once) but really this place is all about the service - which is important because you see them every time you bring your car! read more

I've had nothing but good experiences with Star Mazda. I started going there for maintenance and warranty work on a Mazda purchased at a different dealership. Willie has been my service contact since the beginning and is always easy to get a hold of and keeps me posted on the status of the work. Everyone there is always really nice and the work is done properly. They also have free wifi so I can stay there and work while waiting on my car. Today I traded and bought a 2014 Mazda 6 GT with tech pkg and had a great first experience with the sales team as well. My salesman Aaron was really enthusiastic about the car- he and the sales manager went out there with me and looked at all of the new features of the car because it was so new that they hadn't even gotten to play with them yet. It was nice to see that they were as excited about it as I was. (The car is amazing by the way, check them out if you haven't yet! ) The process was smooth all the way through finance. I never felt pressured and they went carefully through every step and worked out a pretty nice deal for me. After dealing with both the sales and service department here over the past couple of years, I can't see how anyone could give them scores as low as I've seen others giving here. I called in 15 minutes before i walked in, the guy did know I am coming and still let me stood there like an idiot for 20 minutes while he seat in his chair doing nothing. as we talk more about the 2014 Mazda 3 it really shows me how much he doesn't know about the car. I was still fine with it, until..... as we start to talk about price we suddenly stood up and walk away and came back with a form saying my international student Visa can't buy a car, I asked him where did this come from, he just mumbled and replied to me saying its immigration law. that was the biggest bullshit I had ever heard, I own an 2012 Harley Road King, also an use 2009 MINI, both of them bought in the US. this is the first time I been turn down by this made up Visa problem. people don't go there, It's a total wast of time read more

This review is for the service department only. I brought our Mazda here on a Saturday when our seat broke just 17,000 miles in -- it was off the track and a piece of metal connecting the motor to the seat had broken. I had initially taken the car to my mechanic but he suggested that I get it taken care of under the warranty at Star Mazda since he deals with them often. Once I got there I explained what happened and Lou (who is amazing and if I was writing the review for her only I would give her 5,000 stars!) got the paperwork ready and checked the car for any recalls as well. Went to go sit outside and read and about 45 minutes later I got the bad news that the seat would NOT be covered under warranty if caused by a hair pin, coins, etc. and would cost me $800. WTF. All I know is that the car seat curves sideways when I move it and an effing car seat should NOT break after 17,000 miles regardless of if there was a stupid hair pin or coin and there was no way I was paying $800 for a 2 inch tiny metal coil (the piece that broke -- shoddy design!). Lou explained that they would have to replace the whole motor hence the $800 and offered to talk to the GM about it. Unfortunately, the GM wasn't in and I had to leave after waiting another 15 minutes to get that news. I got the part number as well so that I could call my dealership and ask them to ship me the part if need be since they are beyond awesome and have taken care of our broken mirror signal via mail NO PROBLEM (they are in Illinois otherwise I would have just gone there). Jump to Monday. Called Lou and she was able to get the OK from the GM (or maybe it was the service manager) to have the seat covered under warranty. Had my fiancé go in on the following Wednesday to get everything fixed. He was told it would take a couple hours then got the call after an hour or two that a piece was missing and that he would have to come back....which made him incredibly mad since he had basically wasted his whole day...Luckily, Lou came to the rescue and got him a rental car and also somehow got the seat fixed the next day and not 2-3 days later as we were first told lol. To be honest I could see why people complain about this place, but Lou was AMAZING and if it wasn't for her great customer service, Star Mazda would be getting 1 star! If you do have to take your car here for servicing, make sure you talk to Lou. She will do her best to take care of you :) read more

Don't waste your time going to any other MAZDA dealership! Star MAZDA is where you wanna go! I had visited this dealership on two separate occasions. My first visit to the dealership was up to my par when it came to customer service. I was greeted by my Abiel and he helped show me the vehicle I was interested in. At the time of my first visit, I was not able to make a purchase because of the remaining payments I had on my leased vehicle at the time. Even though I was a bit ahead of the game on my next purchase Abiel was calm, friendly and so helpful. He never made me feel like I was wasting his time that day as I was not making a purchase. He even went to his desk manager to see if there was any way they can pull me out of my leased vehicle ahead of time. This made such a lasting impression on me that when it came time for me to trade in my old lease I went back to Abiel. On my second visit again, it was five stars all the way! Abiel showed me all the bells and whistles the cx5 had to offer. He took me on a great test drive so I can get a great feel for the car. Oh did I mention that he even remembered who I was from like six months ago from my first visit!!!! Anyways, he was able to get me the price I wanted and color and trim line. I took a long time to decide as I always do with any purchase I make so Edita had to help as Abiel had another client that came in. Edita, is such a character!!! OMG!!! Had such a blast working with her as well... As I dragged on deciding if I should make the purchase or not Edita never pressured me or made it uncomfortable! Oh, Tim, I think he was the desk manager!!!! Got to meet him too! Very nice little man... A bit spicy!! But he was great!!! He made conversation with me and even made me feel comfortable as well. PLEASE AVOID THE SERVICE HERE!!!!!!!!!! I have never have the urgency to write any bad review but this will be it. I would give this place a negative star if I could. First of all, this place is a total rid off. They can easily asking you for 50% to 80% more of the money that any other regular auto repair shops would ask for. They tried to charge me $600 for a service that was unnecessary and shouldn't need to be fixed. On the phone, my service guy (Peter?) told me the AC filter is full of dust and my AC is in an extreme dusty condition which required difficult works to get it cleaned and fixed. I couldn't believe how badly I've used my car when given the fact that I don't drive a lot (only to school which is 2 miles a day everyday). The service here might be nice, in terms of they are polite and talking nicely. However, knowing that they have the tendency of lying and trying to get your money in a immoral way- this place is truly the shadiest. I get it- you try to make money because it's a business. But at the very least, you shouldn't lie or enlarge the problems just to get you pay a overly charged fee and fix things that are still in good condition. I went to another auto repair place that's within two miles drive from this shady place, they charged me $0 for inspection and kindly help me remove leaves that cause the annoying sounds from my AC. They clean the air filter and showed me there's NOTHING dusty on it. I don't understand why Peter or the works at Star Mazda would lie to me by saying it's very dirty and full of dust. I feel compelled to write a review for Star Mazda because buying a car is a BIG THING for some people, including myself. I purchased a car from them 2 years ago and the process went smooth. But like everyone else on a budget, I wanted to get the best deal on another car even if I had to switch dealerships. Yet, Star Mazda proved that they are the best Mazda dealership for me. I believe what separates them from other dealerships is their transparent process & amazing customer service. I decided to start my search online for a 2017 Mazda 3, so I do not have to drag my sister and myself to every dealership. After I emailed many places within a 50 miles range from Los Angeles, Kyle from Star Mazda was the most approachable - he sounded like a real, genuine, helpful person. For example, one dealership spammed me with 3-5 emails a day while another dealership insisted that I provided a phone # before their "product specialist" could check if a specific car had the premium package. However, at Star, Kyle gave me all the necessary information I wanted through email (model, price, rebates, etc). He answered all my questions in a friendly manner. He even provided me with the lowest quote (about $1500 less). There were no hidden fees nor any rebates that I do not qualify for once I am at the dealership --the internet price was REAL! Importantly, I felt like the whole thing was an easy, transparent process. The exceptional part of this experience was when Kyle went out of his way to look for a 2017 car model for me (When I was ready to buy a month later, they had no more in stock since 2018 is here. The early bird gets the worm!! LOL! Not at Star though -- Kyle will get you one!! LOL!) When we met up, he was professional and helped me find the exact model I wanted from another place. There was no pressure to buy and I took my time to go home and decide. When I decided to purchase later on, he had the car delivered to Star (no extra fee). Notably, when I went to see the car, the car was right in the front with a VIP rope (WOW). That made me feel special & Kyle said he got the last eternal blue mica for me from San Diego!! WOOT! I believe it is the extra mile that sellers provide for customers, such as the little things, that is truly exceptional customer service. This was definitely shown through my car buying experience with Kyle. I believe he should be a role model for exceptional customer service! I feel like the whole car buying experience was amazing because I got lucky and worked with Kyle. I had a car situation, and had to leave the car at Star for a week and he babysat it for no additional fee. Then, when I went to pick it up, Jon greeted me and he was very sweet. Kyle brought the car out and it was sparkly cleaned again!! He even included free tint on the back windows! Lastly, I must comment that there was also no pressure to buy their maintenance plan or any other offers. I knew what I wanted (no extra stuff) and that's what I got. Don helped me with the paperwork and he was so sweet too. Again, there was no hidden fees. Everything was transparent from the start and Star exceeded in customer service. I had checked online and knew they had the body style and color I was looking for and called ahead letting the Internet Manager know I was coming by. He was straight forward and didn't talk too much (good) and allowed me to take a proper test drive (even on the highway briefly to test the road noise and power). I wasn't ready to buy that day but they made my short list for Mazda dealers. I was surprised to see they didn't have a lot of unnecessary dealer-installed add-ons that you typically see at other dealerships to jack up their margins (VIN etching, "high-tech stain-resistant interior treatment," etc.). It was just a straight forward experience, which I didn't have when visiting other dealers when I was in the comparison phase of my buying process. I would recommend considering this place if you are local or willing to make the trek from LA. read more

When I drove out there with my husband, the individual I had been e-mailing with introduced himself to my husband (handshake and everything!) and ignored me. We checked out the vehicle, and the salesman continued to ignore me, even after I stated the car would be for me and my husband wouldn't be making the decision. The oil change service is fine here, didn't take too long and friendly. It would be nice if they did a simple car wash like other dealerships when you bring your car any service. And of course since it's a Mazda dealer they try to convince customers they need all kinds of other repairs done. It's also kind of humorous that they make such a show of saying they charge 3% more for credit card payments, as though the CC companies are doing it to just them lol...every business gets those fees, it's just that Star Mazda is in a very select few that refuses to accept it as a cost of doing business and charges their customers that much more. I also get tired of them never putting the seats back to the spot they found them in...they might think it's a waste of 30 seconds, but it's frustrating to have to find "the" spot after every visit. I had a leased car (I got a bad deal on) that had to be turned in and I really wanted to try the Mazda6, but the reviews had me a bit on edge. The staff at Star Mazda was courteous with me. From reception, to sales, and even through (the dreaded) financing department, everything was clear cut and concise. Even though I was a recent grad with a low down payment in hand (not exactly Tier 1/high roller) the folks at Star Mazda answered my rapid fire questions, and even joked around a bit when I probed them about non-Mazda things. Don't get me wrong, I didn't come there to pick up a couple of drinking buddies, but I didn't realize that the group they have at sales are passionate about what they sell. I bought a Mazda CX-5 from Star Mazda last year. While I was somewhat happy with the car buying experience I have been substantially less happy with the service department. My first experience with the service department was just for an oil change and 5,000 mile service. That was okay, but more expensive than it should have been. My second experience with the service department was absolutely horrible. I received notification from Mazda that there was a recall for my vehicle having to do with a fuel line that could leak and cause a fire in the event of an accident. The notification said to take my car to my local dealership to have the issue fixed. According to the notification it is a relatively simple fix that should only take 20-30 minutes. Now that is of course dependent upon the work load at the local dealership, so I called today to see if they were busy and when would be a good time to bring the car in. The woman I spoke to said that they weren't that busy on that day and gave me a couple of times to bring it in. I chose the 1pm slot and she took my information which tells me that she was making an appointment for me. When I got there at 1pm, there was no appointment and the service rep told me that they were really busy and it would take 1 hour 45 minutes to 2 full hours to get my car in. Had I been told that on the phone when I called I would have made an appointment for another day. I didn't have 2 hours to spend there as I had other things to do so I left. Then after getting home, I called back and talked to someone who told me that I DID IN FACT have an appointment on the books for 1pm and she didn't know why the service rep said that I didn't have one. I asked to talk to the service manager who made an appointment for me for another day to get the recall fixed and promised me that I would be in and out. I showed up for my new appointment 2 days later and was once again told that it would be a while to get my car in. They did at least acknowledge that I had an appointment. After an hour and a half I went to the service area to see how much longer it would be only to be told that my car was actually done and nobody bothered to come tell me!! Are you kidding me?!?!? Do you really have so little respect for my time that you would just let me sit there after you are done with my car!?! Making matters worse, when they brought my car up to me, I checked the traffic map app which is part of the infotainment computer and it wasn't working properly. It was working when I brought it in and it said that the last update was 45 minutes earlier, when they had my car! The service rep told me that he thought it was just building blocking the signal so he got in the car with me and drove around but it never worked. We got back to the service area and he called someone else who said that it was an XM radio issue. One problem, the traffic map is an HD radio app and has nothing to do with XM. How do I know that and the service rep doesn't? You are supposed to be experts in Mazda cars! After fighting with me over this, they took my car into the back only to discover that they did something to the infotainment center and it had to be reset. After the reset, the traffic map worked. But now, I have been here for over two hours for a recall repair that was supposed to only be 20-30 minutes! This place has absolutely no respect whatsoever for the time of their customers. Unfortunately my car is under warranty so I have to bring it to Mazda service centers and this is the closest one to me. It might be worth driving to one that is further away in the future. read more

WONDERFUL EXPERIENCE! This is my first Mazda purchase, and after having visited another Mazda dealer I can't express how pleasant Star Mazda's dealership is. I took my daughter car hunting for her first new car last week. The goal was to show her how to purchase a new automobile and avoid the snake pit of dishonest salesmen poised to pounce with their gap insurance, etching fees and other hidden charges. To keep it short, I had contacted Kyle Groom at Star Mazda and explained we would be dealing on price. Any added or hidden fees would result in us walking out in favor of lunch and another dealer. I was pleasantly surprised to find Mr. Groom had actually listened! He effectively helped us find the car my daughter wanted. The price quoted was the price paid. My daughter received an excellent interest rate a $500 model discount and another $250 graduation discount. The contract had no added fees other that license, registration and interest. Mazda puts nitrogen in the tires of their new cars as it adds to tire wear and gas mileage. The normal charge for this was $99. It was $0 on our contract. It was refreshing to deal with a salesman that provided full disclosure every step of the way! It was equally refreshing to find a salesman that listened and did everything asked of him to keep our experience positive and maintain our future business. Mr. Groom and Star Mazda made an anticipated day of car shopping hell, a great experience. I walked out the dealership knowing that we had received an excellent deal. Kyle Groom is the most pleasant and hard working sales advisor I've ever encountered during my car buying process. Had no intentions of buying a car when I went for a test drive at a different dealership. The process was long and drawn out. Pressure tactics don't win any points. Luckily Kyle returned my previous inquiry and left a message for me to call him back. We spoke over the phone a few times before we agreed on a sale that had me driving to Star Mazda late in the evening. Now don't let the fact that Star Mazda doesn't have fancy glass exteriors like some of their competitors detract you from going there. Kyle is a pleasure to work with. They also have a nice complimentary coffee/tea brewer with a giant tv and couches for their customers. It was so refreshing to work with Kyle because he was honest, down to earth and NEVER once used any old school pressure tactics found in other dealerships. He drew up the paperwork and Steve from finance helped to wrap things up. These guys stayed past 11pm working with me to get the process done (they normally close at 8). If you are shopping for a Mazda all you need to do is call or email Kyle Groom. Seriously, we shopped around for months, the car buying world is a deep swirling pit of confusing information. We walked in a few dealerships and haggled, we paid for a fighting chance information package, we checked out edmunds price promise, we looked at truecar, we considered the costco buying program. But all I really had to do was email Kyle. He came back with a quote immediately, and was prompt and responsive in all his communication. No gimmicks, everything spelled out. No phone call spamming for you to "call him immediately" for a great deal. He gave me the exact cost breakdown, with the Out the Door price, as I requested. WHAT? I thought, must be too good to be true, thought I'd still check in out in person to make sure. We bought the car the next day because we knew we were getting a good deal. (Seriously we had multiple quotes and had a massive spreadsheet to calculate everything.) He might be a bit busy if you just walk in, so make sure to let him know when you might be stopping by or schedule a time. We also expected to have to put up a fight in the finance department for any mistakes on our financing rate, or for the extended warranty up sell, but we just kindly declined and that was it. I got my car serviced at their new service department at 1401 South Brand Blvd. I came to the dealership because the last time I got my car serviced, it was really cheap! It was not the same this time around. I was helped right away, and when the guy asked me what he could do for me, I asked them if they had a 15,000 mile service package. He showed me what they offered and it was a bunch of stuff that totalled to $280!!! A total rip off when all I really needed was an oil change =(. But I didn't know that until I reviewed my manual. In the end, it was my stupidity for thinking I could get a good deal for service at a dealership. I highly recommend reviewing your vehicle manual before making any quick decisions on service. I gave them 2 stars because they were actually friendly and offered donuts, water and coffee in the waiting room. But other than that, total RIP OFF!!! read more

This review is for Hannibal at the Star Mazda Service Dept. in Glendale. My husband made an appointment for me the morning of 11/5 -- i arrived on time and was immediately impressed with Hannibal's personable attitude -- he was very thorough and took the time to explain the process. He also set me up with a loaner vehicle at no cost, which saved the day for me, because I still had a ton of weekend errands to run and would have had to rent a car to get them done that day. Throughout the process, Hannibal was an excellent communicator and advised me to look up anything I didn't understand so I could be fully aware of the repairs they were doing. When I wasn't able to pick up my car right away, he let me know it was no problem for them to keep it an extra day and a half (and for me to keep the loaner) until I could come get my vehicle. Today, when I came to pick up my car, Hannibal was present, kind and again -- explained everything they did, even mentioning when I should expect to have these repairs updated. We had a great conversation and he made the process super easy and pleasant -- which is pretty atypical for any transaction involving car service, usually (at least in my experience). This review is for Mr. David Gomez in the Service Department. While driving on the freeway last Sunday night, TPMS light came on and started beeping. I suspected a tire puncture and took my vehicle in for service. It's a fairly new vehicle so I figure I get some maintenance done as well. I was assisted by Mr. David Gomez who was very honest with his maintenance recommendations. He thoroughly answered all my questions and brought a dipstick to show me that my oil was still very clean. He told me all I needed was to get the tire fixed. The technicians took their time to inspect my tires and the car was brought back. There was no puncture. It just turned out to be an unbalanced pressures in the tires. It was a relief knowing the tires were fine. I was willing to pay for the service to compensate for the time they spent assuring the condition of my car. I asked how much. Mr. Gomez said "No charge" I personally don't enjoy having to take my car in for service. However, it sure was a pleasant experience. Thank you, Mr. Gomez. I'll be dropping by again when I hit 4K miles. read more
