My recent experience with Star Auto Mall was very upsetting. Staff member Fernando had a rude tone including comments I did not appreciate. When we started discussing trade in value a staff member drove the car about 20 feet and said it was an $100 trade in value which is simply absurd. I felt like staff thought I was a fool. Worst purchase of my life. These people are absolute scumbags. I financed a car with them, telling them I was about to take a trip to Florida to see my family and wanted a safe vehicle to make it down there from PA. Around NC the car started acting up. Massive clouds of white smoke, collision light turned on, check engine light blinking. Thank god I made it down to FLA. I was told to take it to a nissan dealership, which I did. 8k worth if repairs needed. Fluids leaking, bushing rotted, misfirirng sparkplugs, dirty brake fluid. Apparently these idiots didn't finalize my paperwork so technically I dont own the car which made the warranty useless. So instead of spending time with my family I spent the whole trip being lied to and avoided by star auto mall. They wanted me to tow it somewhere cheaper to get it fixed or tow it back to PA for repairs. We were looking for a decent used car for a second car. Checking Star Auto, we found a Mazda which we thought would decent. I checked various sites as to the price for the year of the Mazda and things seemed in line. Although my wife thinks we paid too much for it. The sale went good, friendly, etc. We were told the vehicle was cleaned and detailed, but, it was not. There was only one key and theres keys need a computer chip and run about $75.00 each. but they only gave us one but said they had someone who would cut a key, chip, etc. for a good price. Why did they just not get us the key? There was an issues with the right front door lock which they did repair. My wife decided to clean the interior of the Mazda, only to find the seats, floors under the mats, dirty and look as though they had never been cleaned. The Mazda had just been in for the yearly state inspection and oil change and we had to have two tie rods replaced, aligned because the tie rods were replaced and exhaust work with a pipe and converter, etc. and all of this extra repairs ran over $800.00. They basically sold us a piece of junk, not cleaned, never detailed, etc., etc., etc. And only one key! They could not spring to have an extra key made?????? I have never purchased a vehicle and only received one key.. And all of this was under one year of ownership. Less than one year and we still have a few years to go on the loan. Never again. If we need a used vehicle tat bad again, a full time dealer that services new vehicles from the factory and has good trades. Stay away..... read more

Got a great car...but with intermittent issues that have resulted in $400 costs. Warning light for the right turn indicator. We brought this up the day after purchase, and the dealer thought it was just a bulb...so we decided not to bring it back.....and wait till the problem showed up. Every time it indicated a problem...it would disappear when we were about to bring it in. Now, having the car inspected, at a Ram dealer, the lamp came on again and will fail inspection with a $400 fee to replace the LED lighting unit. Ouch. I believe the dealership knew about the intermittent issue, sold the car anyway, and when we brought the issue up stated that it was just a bulb. I bought a car about a month ago. 2018 ford explorer xlt. I took my car to the service department to get wheel bearings and a tire sensor fix. They had my car two weeks, it wasn't fixed when I got it back. Took it back again for a second time still wasn't fixed. Third time wasn't fixed, and when the mechanic brought me car out he was smoking in my car. Now this is the forth time I took it in. Said it would be ready by 5:30. I drove 45 minutes to be told it wasn't done.. THIS SERVICE DEPARTMENT IS HORRIBLE!! They give you the run around and when I asked for the documentation for the work done they wouldn't give it to me. Made it seem like I had no idea what I was talking about, when I specifically came in to look at a car, it was already sitting out front and he refused to let me look at it because "someone else is looking at that" and he wouldn't believe me when i said I AM i just called and drove 45 minutes i am trying to look at it. Absolutely ridiculous. Was pushing me to sign papers that binded me to purchasing a car i didn't even come to see, wouldn't budge on price even though the car was extremely overpriced, bumped, dented etc. I told them to call me back if they lowered the price and they lowered the price the next day and it was sold 3 days later & they never called to tell me. Drove 2 hours after being told the truck I went to look at was in exceptional condition, showed up the truck was dented everywhere, tires were mismatched, both rear tires were basically bald, one of the tailights literally falling out, random dangling electrical wires in the bed of the truck, and one of the tires was overinflated to 101psi I'm sure the sensor was bad but whatever, still proceeded to go and talk numbers, we were separated by $600 otherwise I would've bought the truck, they didn't wanna sell it over $600 and said they weren't making money on it, which is complete crap because who goes into business to break even lol Thankfully I didn't buy it. The general manager I guess the salesman I had had gone over to him to ask for the best price out the door and the old man proceeded to throw a fit basically borderline yelling and complaining "no that's it that's it" yelling at his salesman great work environment too I guess and then proceeded to call me back a few days later after I had told them if we didn't come to a deal that day I wouldn't come back I wasn't gonna make a 2 hour drive there and 2 hour drive back again when I was ready the first time with money in hand with intentions to take the truck home. This place had to be the worst place ive been to to finance a car. Between every car they continuesly ran my credit . The people were verg rude and got annoyed anytime i would ask question. The man that was helping up would go smoke a cigarette everytime we needed his help. Worst experience and would not recommend then tried to pressure us into leasing a car. Also the guy was not wearing a mask the entire time. We were sitting at his desk the whole time while he was there bc he kept walking away . There were other customers there either. I will never ever buy a car here again. I got an extended warranty that the salesman said covers everything and that I should bring it to them for repairs. I need a new transmission and Star can't even fit in looking at my truck for three months. I went somewhere else and found out just how BAD the warranty they sold me really is. I got the top level tier of that warranty company and they are horrible. Ford dealer told them i need a new transmission. They did not believe them so they made them do a tear down that cost me about a 1000 dollars because that is only covers one hour of diagnostics. Dealer never said that. I was assured that the warranty was great and covers me bumper to bumper. Liars absolute Liars. Anytime i have wanted the free oil change done the garage is three months behind. Mechanical service is horrible called three times to verify that my car was being serviced correctly, what I wanted done and was told yes that's what they are doing, because the time before this one had a horrible experience they didn't do anything to the car after it stayed three days, well when I went to pick up car today and only oil change was done forgetting to put air in my tires like I requested and checking the remote starter to my vehicle, just a horrible place I can't believe I purchased a vehicle to star auto mall biggest mistake in my life!!! On February 8th, my fiancé and I were driving down Nazareth Pike, and had been stopped at a red light for about 2-3 minutes. From no where, a man driving a dodge caravan came speeding behind us and rear ended us. It was pretty clear he had been distracted driving. This man was employed by Star Auto Mall.. It gets better though, we decided to go through with a police report and this man had a suspended license. How do you work at a car dealership with a suspended license? This was a car that someone had just purchased and he was doing a fill-up. Needless to say this buyer was not getting his car. This accident costed us roughly $2500 but obviously have insurance. However, my fiancé still had to pay his $500 deductible. I am looking for a way to recoup this cost. $500 is not enough to where it is worth legal fees, so hoping this remedies the situation. I am willing to delete this review if the owner of Star Auto Mall offers to pay back this $500 deductible. Not trying to be a pain but management should have absolutely known his employee had a suspended license and should not have been driving. I would never recommend anyone comes here for a car and hope this situation can be fixed. Thanks. read more

Thiis for the star auto on 512 allentown I bought a nissan rogue at another auto dealership and the tranny started going bad after just 4 mos. I just started a job 2 weeks ago and freaked deciding I would finance a used car. A friend said he heard star auto was ok. I went in and was met by yari who proceeded to complain of a migraine the whole time and eating her lunch and texting. While in a very uninterested way was able to suggest one car. I test drove it they ran the numbers and the payment was too high. This was a Friday and I was missing work and my job was understanding but they had me there till almost 8 pm.then I went in on Saturday they pulled the same shit on me having me sit there unattended for hours and sending me off to my second job with nothing. They called me Monday saying if I could come in Tuesday morning they had a Subaru impreza then changed it to a Subaru legacy I could drive it and if I liked it I could sign papers and they'd have me out of there in a couple hours. Well I got there and the car they had me test drive was filthy had garbage in it and stank. On the test drive the brake light started flashing and the engine light came on. I pulled over and the brake stuck on AND I realized they haven't even put gas in it. It was on empty. I had to call them to come get me. They then had me drive the damn thing back while she followed me. Then Bob became involved. Cranky old guy with a cane and a very disrespectful attitude. Told me they were taking care of all that and they were backing it up with a very good service plan. Mind you they were selling it for almost 6 grand with the service contract over 7. He fed on my desperation. Made comments about how some people come in there and expect a good car with bad credit etc. I(yes stupidly and desperately) decided to stick around. Around 7 pm he pulls the car fax. This is after I transferred my plate and insurance to this car. Hes like darn it the title is bonded we can't sell this car to her. Turns out this car had been totalled. He's like just take the car tonight so you have wheels to get to work tomorrow but you gotta sign this and this and tomorrow the paperwork will be voided. Well I went to work the next day and they started calling and texting saying they needed the car back and they were gonna come to my work with my work and swap the cars out. She said she'd call me back when she found their driver. Well 7 pm came and I was done work so I went home which is near the dealer and called her and asked why she hadn't called me back and she said she WAS WITH A CUSTOMER! I took off to my 2nd job in Easton and the car broke down in traffic on the way. I was able to get the car to the place I was cleaning and park it in their lot. I emailed Bob the next day and told him what happened and where the car was and that I took the plate and my insurance off it. Long story short he blamed me and started yelling at me through email about if I had better credit and better trade and more money down I could got a better car. I emailed him back that he can't blame it on me that he put me in a total death trap and that I was going to post his rant on social media. To which he replied "yo! Blah blah blah. Needless to say when I go in there tomorrow to get my rogue there better not be damage to it and if they give me a problem I'm calling the police. No lie. If I could give them no stars I would. Horrible service, looked online at there inventory and found a car I wanted. Did the online pre-approval application and was approved. I got a call from them and set up an appointment, but before the appointment I told them to make sure I was going to be approved because I did not want to go in there and waist my time, I was going with X amount of money and I gave them the VIN #. They ran everything through supposedly and said I would be able to take that care home. I get there and they take a copy of my ID and tell me to wait a little while they contact the bank, had me test drive the car I came in for and I literally sat there for 3 hours waiting on an approval. I finally see the sales rep walking around and ask him what's going on because not once did he come to check on me, he said the bank was waiting on a manager approval so if I wanted he would call me the next day, as im walking out he's showing someone else the same vehicle. Never get a call the next day, called 2 days later to check on it and Tianna took down my number and I never received a call back. WAIST OF TIME !!!! read more
