I recently used the UPS Easy Drop-Off with Mobile Return Code (FREE) service and went to my local Staples store, which is listed as a UPS drop-off location. However, when I got there, the cashier informed me that she couldn't scan the QR code and told me I needed to go to a main UPS Store instead. This was very frustrating and felt pointless, especially since Staples is promoted as a valid drop-off point for this service. If the location cannot process mobile return codes, that should be made clear beforehand to avoid unnecessary inconvenience. read more

As a snowbird I don't use my printer often and the ink had dried out with the heat and lack of use. I needed 10 pages of my tax preparation printed and after a quick trip to Staples, I had the documents in hand and was pleased how inexpensive it was. However, after seeing the price of a replacement ink cartridge (and evaluating my use), Staples lost a sale on the cartridge replacement. But I'm sold on using Staples to print from my flash drive. My favorite Staples was the one on Catalina Drive. It was a wonderland of office supplies, laptops, cameras, art supplies, and tables of back-to-school bargains. But, it closed down. Staples used to have a genuine rewards program, and they would also pay you $2.00 for every empty ink cartridge you returned. That seemed to stop without notice. The last time I turned in ink cartridges, I got nothing. And, despite making substantial purchases, my reward coupons stopped coming in. When I told this to the cashier, she asked me if I wanted to sign up again. That's the strange logic: you incurred losses from them, but you should trust them again even so. At the 16th Street store, there are no cameras and the art supplies are really for children's projects. They no longer carry the 32lb. business paper or the nice notebooks with interior pockets which sold for $2.00 each. I get most of my office supplies at Walmart or even the 99-cent store. Walmart also has art supplies, and Michael's has an excellent selection of nice brushes and other artist items. I still shop at Staples sometimes, but I do not enjoy it like I used to. read more

We just recently purchased new office chairs and I highly recommend the black Telford II. This chair is super cushiony, helps me sit up strait, and has a few necessary features that make it a great chair. It is also a space saver as its not too big nor too small. They have a copious amount of items to choose from and their staff was friendly and very helpful. read more

My wife and I are on the road a lot and need copies made regularly. Color copies are very expensive. The copy center here gave us 20 copies for free! I'm sure they can't do that regularly but we were very impressed with the kindness. They are busy but moved to the line very quickly. I can see why they have a lot of business! read more

I went into Staples yesterday, in Yuma to try out office chairs. I liked the only chair in the place that did not have a price on it. I had a gentleman help me get the information that I needed. He went above and beyond for me. When he went to the register to look up the item he was given a price. I told him that I was going to purchase online, that my company does all orders online and asked him if he could print the item number out for me. He went back in to print the item and was given a completely different price. He wasn't sure what was going on, so he asked for help from the manager Melissa. She checked as well, and was given the much higher price. I told her that I was going to purchase online, and asked if she could check the website, she did, and still was given the higher price. I didn't ask for her to print the item number since I thought the price was too much. I went into the office the next day, and told my boss the price of the chair, joking that I liked the highest price chair in the store. He told me to get the item number and we would order it. I was shocked. I called today asking for the name of the manager that helped me yesterday, and got lucky enough that she was there again today. I told her that I need the item number after all. And she was all too happy to get it for me again. Even though she knew I wasn't going to purchase at their store, she still went above and beyond for me.
