I don't shop here often because I have found printer cartridges, envelopes and storage bins at lower prices elsewhere. But I do come by occasionally when I want to buy some ink cartridges so I can utilize the cartridge recycling plan. If you have a Staples membership card (free loyalty card) and buy a minimum amount of ink you can turn in used ink cartridges and get $2 back for each one (I think they limit you to 20 a month). You get a check in a month or two. It works out for me he work is paying for the ink, then I can buy something with the refund check. Win win for the environment and me! read more

They don't allow a zero star rating. If they did, that's what I would enter. If Dimwit were a profession, the staff in the printing department at the Vernon Staples store would be world class professionals. I ordered a business card. I designed it on my computer using MSWord. They said I had to send it as a pdf file. So I saved the file as an Acrobat Reader pdf file and sent it. In transmission the image of my my card was reduced to about one-half inch tall by about one and one quarter inches wide. The MORONS at Staples didn't bother to adjust the size of the image and printed it as it arrived, centered in the middle of a two by three-and-a-half inch card: unreadable, unusable, but they claim to be professionals. When I went to pick up the cards, I was outraged and said they were totally unacceptable. The pig-bitch clerk got surly with me and said that was the image they received. She refused to take responsibility for their inept performance. Then a manager said he could he could reformat it. After about 45 minutes, he got nowhere. Then he moved to their automated business card program, which STINKS. The size of the print cannot be adjusted, it will only accept pdf images for logos, it will not allow borders or any other personalized features. The moron technician manager took another 45 minutes slapping together a card that was a far cry from the design I had so painstakingly created. An additional charge appeared on the computer screen. He said it would not apply. Sure enough, when I got home, an email was on my computer "confirming" my order and adding the charge to my credit card. I called the store. I spoke with another "professional." He said he would check on the matter and get right back to me by phone. He recited my phone number to confirm its correctness. I waited an hour. Then I called the store. He insisted he had called me within ten minutes of our conversation and was directed immediately to voice mail. My phone does not have voice mail and does not direct callers. I have an answering machine which records messages. My phone did not ring; there was no message on my machine. I did not leave my room for that hour. He did say that the charge would not, in fact, be applied. I thanked him and hung up. Evidently this moron professional can't even punch in a phone number correctly. Listen Folks: DO NOT UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCES GO TO THE VERNON STAPLES STORE FOR YOUR PRINTING NEEDS. Avoid the aggravation and the frustration. Save your time and money. It is not worth the effort. read more

Smaller store, recently renovated. I'm able to easily find printer ink and little office type things that I might need. Kids that work here are nice, for the most part. This location has a really nice print shop. They've helped me with business cards in the past, and I'm very pleased with their work. This location also carries a full line of Apple accessories, which in great when I need something quick. Nice store...serves the purpose here in town. read more

I received wonderful service at the Staples store at the Powell Center near the intersection of Powell Road and Route 23, between Delaware and Columbus Ohio. The department was print/photocopy services, the day of the week was Saturday, and the customer service person was Brooke. What was so special? The store charged me a small amount of money for putting a larger number of pages in a pdf format and then, because some of the )previously 2-sided) copies were upside down, took the time to make them face up before finalizing the pdf to give to me. Later that week, when I discovered that the pdf was locked, other customer service staff and I worked out that the "locking" was due to Adobe expiring on the publicly shared computer I was using, which meant that I could just switch where I was priiting the information off. While some retail experiences leave you with either a neutral or bad taste in your mouth, both of these heartened me at a time when I really needed heartening. Do not go here for shipping. I dropped off a pre-labelled UPS package that never made it back to amazon. I tried to track the package using the tracking number on my receipt, but I was given an incorrect number (it's basically just a random number, totally useless.) I should have known not to leave the package when the woman behind the counter didn't know how to sign into the computer. The package is lost, there is no way to track it and Amazon charged me $120 for not returning a text book. I spoke with the store and all they could say is that all packages were picked up, and that basically there is nothing left for them to do. I have never had a problem mailing back packages to amazon until I used this store. Stay away. read more

Not impressed. I needed double A batteries for my camera for work. A simple in and out store experience, right? Nope. Above the battery display is a sign, buy one 16 pack of Duracell, get the second for 50% off. Awesome. There were no 16 pack AA on the display. So I asked a cashier if they had them, she said no. So I grabbed the 20 pack and went to checkout at a different cashier and asked for a rain check for the two 16 packs. Simple enough? NOPE. She proceeds to call the manager. Over comes the manager and I explain I was looking for a rain check for the buy one get one 50% off. He asks me if they have them. I advised I didn't know the answer to his question and pointed at the other cashier who said they didn't have them. The manager and I walk over to the display together, I point at the sign and then the empty hangers where the double A 16 pack batteries should be. He picks up the AAA 16 pack batteries off of the hangers and is going to hand them to me. I advised him that those were AAA and not AA which I needed. He then states that they don't give rain checks at Staples, that if they don't have the item in the store they will order it and send it to you... Alright.. Over to his computer terminal he goes and then into the back of the store to get the batteries. He returns with them and hands them to the cashier. The cashier rings them up in addition to the 20 pack of batteries that I had initially grabbed because, go figure, I needed batteries. I had to advise her that I no longer needed the 20 pack of double A as I now had 32 AA batteries. She removed them from the tally and I was permitted to leave the store after 15 minutes, three employees and affirmation in my belief that all shopping should be done online. read more

Folks, if you're like me, you expect to get the sales price, when sales are offered in promotional flyers. Be careful when shopping at Staples. You need to really know whether they are offering discounted prices; special vendor promotional pricing or need to take extra steps and obtain a rebate through their website (save your receipts). There is certainly nothing wrong with the model. Unfortunately, in Staples you can't be a casual shopper because if you catch a mistake beyond 14 days, you lose all access to the promotional price. You would think they maintain records of sales made within specific periods of time and would honor your receipts, when presented. Certainly, a sophisticated retailer like Staples knows what they charged all other consumers for the exact same product within a given promotion period, using UPC codes as their index into that information. Don't expect Staples to be consumer friendly with that information. So, fellow consumers, don't get "Stapled", caveat emptor...AND may I suggest you shop at Office Depot. They are much more helpful, and they treat buyers, like special customers. My Staples rewards card is now history. Ciao 4 now. read more

Poor management and poorer service. We brought a package to be mailed. They gave us a price and said for $2 more the guaranteed 2 day delivery...they didn't send it out for 2 days. When we called all we got was attitude. Don't mail anything from this place. They have poor service and crappy managers. read more
