They do a decent job of printing things and they're usually well stocked with exactly what I need. They're always welcoming and friendly when you come in the front door and thank you for visiting. Negative the other three stars because I had to find an employee for help and he pointed me in the direction where the product I wanted would be "if we have it" and couldn't answer a question on the second product I was considering. The second employee I asked gave the same answers. I felt like I was bothering both of them. I left without buying any product and I won't be back. I don't think the people working here want to be here. They seem mostly to be downright miserable. Oh yes, they wait on your needs/questions - but not a one enjoys serving the public. I think the management hired only workers who want to be alone...so a task like 'copying' is quick and easy, but if you want a stapler, binder, or other item - it's a point and 'I think it over in that section'; assuming you can get their attention. I called earlier in need of a Dell charger. I was very thorough in my description and was told by the general manager, Andrew, that you had it & would put it at front on hold for me. I drove in and lo and behold- 3 blank stares & no charger. I don't know about you, but time is the most valuable commodity we have and you've just wasted over two hours of mine. I did not have the bandwidth to come in and pick this up today but to add insult to injury, to be greeted by the fact that you don't even have it is really poor service. When people wonder why Amazon is taking all the business from retailers, here is a very big example of why. With 4 yup 4 workers eating food at the front, wrappers in plain sight, employees on their phones, Staples can't quite do the job thoroughly. It's just a sad commentary on the general work ethic or lack there of in society today. It's actually the exception when somebody gets it right. Truly disappointing and to find out that the fellow who helped me was actually the general manager makes it even more so. If that's the best you've got, I predict Staples will go the way of many other bankrupt retailers. IMHO sooner than later. read more

iPostal is the worst. I've been a customer at the Scottsdale Staples at Hayden location for over a year and it is constant issues. They don't process mail when it comes in for days, or over a week. I just had packages that had been deliverred 6 and 8 days prior before they entered them in the system. They are completely unorganized, and repeatedly tell me I don't have any mail, then while we wait, they look through stacks on the counter and find it. Their copy department manager Leo just makes excuses "its back to school time", or "it was under a box". I've paid for packages to be shipped out and it takes days before being sent. They are just terrible. You can't run a business using iPostal. you can't depend on them at all. I've spoken with corporate multiple times and they haven't done anything about it. Leo is still there, not doing his job. And you can't forward mail from iPostal to another address. you have to forward all your accounts manually. what a nightmare. read more

Also, I was in a rush so I asked a worker who was in the middle of stocking some items and he didn't hesitate to point me in the right direction. We like Staples, and prefer it to the other "Office" stores. There is a reason Staples had risen to the top in this category. Both Office Depot and Office Max just cannot keep up. Their selection is very good and they're always thinking of ways to attract you to stop. Coupons, $$ for recycling printer cartridges, document printing, I could go on. But most of these items Staples started and have since been copied by the other two. So "A-OK" Three Stars. read more

Can't go wrong at this Staples. Should be able to find anything you need and I always like to come to Staples for their back to school sales. Printer paper especially is always discounted. I happened to come on a good day when they are putting a ton of items on clearance. Nothing too fancy, but notebooks, household items, and electronics accessories are all heavily discounted, some up to 50% off. My one tip is to download the Staples app before shopping. You can order items beforehand and pick them up in the store at the front desk. I did that my first time shopping at this location and actually found a better deal through the app than was listed in the store. Never hurts to save a few dollars! read more

It was a last minute gift and staples had me out the door in 10 minutes. I emailed them my 2 pictures and while I waited for them to be printed I ran over to the paper isle as I need more paper for my printer on my way back to the printing center I grabbed a new insert that I've needed for a couple of months for my day timer, picked up the pictures and I was literally out the door in 10 minutes. I am not one to leave reviews or call people out by name but Allie (operating supervisor) was the rudest employee I have met in a very long time. I came in to print some color copies and picked staples for their paper choices. From the first interaction to the last, she was rude, sharp and unfriendly. My son even commented on the rudeness she showed us. I have no idea why she presented herself in this manner but when you work in customer service, it should be a positive experience. An absolute joy of an experience. My husband and I went into the store to look for an office chair. We had a very limited amount of time, and a reasonable idea of what we wanted. We were greeted immediately by a store member as we headed to the chairs. Within a moment, the same store member, Karen, came to check on us. Karen was the epitome of an on-point salesperson. She did what every salesperson should do: helped us solve a problem in the best possible way for us. She quickly ascertained what I was looking for and walked me to 3 different types of chairs that could meet these needs. She waited patiently as I had a "chair -off" where I sat in each 10 times to pick my favorite. She used social proof and shared pros and cons as they pertained to my needs. She was helpful and welcomed (not at all pushy or overbearing). I told my husband that it was one of the most pleasant buying experiences that I've had in recent memory. She topped things off by helping us order the chair and have it shipped (as it was not in stock in the store). Karen was phenomenal. I asked for her store manager's name, which she said was Kimberly. Just left the store with a big smile because of the Custer Service I just experienced. This company should be very proud of their employees at this location. From the moment I stepped in the door I was greeted with a hello, may I direct you somewhere and do you need any help. Oh Staples, I know you well. When you work from home, you frequent Staples. It's just a fact of life. There's no supply closet for me. Instead, I get to buy all my supplies, but at this location, the employees remember my name and they're unusually helpful and nice. They'll take you right to the aisle where whatever it is you're looking for is located and recommend products if necessary. Staples has everything you could possibly need or want for your home office, from furniture and pens to planners and mouse pads. And their prices aren't bad either, but certain items you may be able to get cheaper at Target or somewhere else along those lines. This Staples is close to my work and easily accessible. There is always ample parking outside, which is nice. The inside is pretty easy to navigate and the employees are helpful. Anyone I've approached was capable of answering my questions or pointing me in the right direction. They also don't hassle or make me feel uncomfortable. There are plenty of employees wandering around, but I think they could use a few more at the check-out area. When I'm shopping at Staples I like being able to get in and out quickly and can get impatient if I have to wait too long. Beware of this place. I stopped in to look at a chair to buy and they say that they have a price match guarantee and they said it's even if it's online "even Amazon". So I went online I check the chair I found it for $20 cheaper on Amazon but they told me immediately that it wasn't valid without even looking at it because it was by an Amazon reseller and it actually had to be by Amazon itself which is total BS. I went on to the website for Staples and I read their price match guarantee fully and nowhere in the terms and conditions does it say anything about that at all. All it says is a shifty, they can change the rules anytime. In the end because I'm a true yelper even though I got it for the amount of money that I said it should've gotten it for they still need only get one star the lady at the cashier was a total bitch and the manager was inept at best. In some ways this is your typical Staples store. Same products, same pricing, same layout. But definately not the same service. I dropped in to buy a one subject notebook for work. I found the notepads and paper pretty quickly and was up to the register in no time. Unfortunately there were 3 people in line in front of me, the gal at the front of the line had no idea what she was doing, and it was holding up the line. Okay, so I'd say that's not the store's fault. What bothered me however was that there was one person at the service desk next to us on the phone, and three other employees within 10 yards who were standing around chatting - none of them rushing to the registers to help get the line moving. The guy at the service counter finally gets off the phone, it's obvious he's a manager at this point, he walks to the next register but instead of opening it he starts organizing flyers. What should have been about a 3 minute wait to check out turned into almost 15. I was so annoyed I would have left 10 minutes prior had I not needed the dang notebook so much! Customer service is terrible. I have purchased 2 3 drawer filing cabinets which one was fine and one had factory defect. Because I did not return in there 14 day return policy window they would not exchange. I spoke with manager who said they could do anything. I didn't want my money back I just wanted a new one that wasn't defective. Ok people send it back to the manufacturer and exchange. Not customer service anymore. I bought a new one at office max.
