I completely have to agree with Tim Y. that this is a brand new location and has that "new car smell." It is a very nice looking Staples both inside and outside. Everything is very organized and very clean. Also, the employees are all very nice and courteous. And they will ask "Can I help you find something." Try getting that at either OfficeMax or Office Depot, unless you go to a location where there are several employees lounging around with nothing to do. It is also way better than the Milpitas location, which is the one that I usually patronize. read more

I had a pile of prints I needed cut, and it was going to take me forever to do by hand. Turns out, Staples has a handy-dandy industrial paper cutter. This puppy will slice about 250-300 pages at a time. Yowza! And it's cheap... like seriously... i so wish I'd known about this years ago. The girl at the desk (gosh I wish I'd caught her name) was wonderful. Super fast, super nice... zip zip zip and I was on my way. I looked for a name brand mouse, competitors where offering one. So after I search at Staples isles. No mouse. I proceeded to the cashier, no one was around on the floors. I asked for price match she said yes, called someone. After waiting and waiting and waiting, I just went to look once more to see maybe I missed seeing any of the name brand on another isle. Still no one showed up to help. Mind you I was the only customer, besides a lady already waiting to pay. Wow. I spent a lifetime at this Staples one afternoon. Walked in to witness a screaming match between two employees, which was unpleasant. Later we were checked out by one of the employees in the yelling match, and it took him 15 minutes to check out an order of about 15 items. It seemed he had never seen a check before, and this novel method of payment befuddled him. Them we went over to make some copies at their copy center. The self-server machine was disgusting, covered with dust. We asked the attendant to clean it off, and he found that it wasn't working anyway. So he went ahead and ran the copies on the big machine, which jammed about every 50 copies. My advice: just avoid this Staples. Whatever you need, they probably can't do it. read more

I honestly don't know where to start I seen a review on here similar to mine it's about the management. I shop here a lot with my kids because they love coloring books and markers and I come to print a lot. I have a shopping bag. Some guy with the tag says Robert says watch someone in educational supplies she has a purse to another associate. And of course he asks me if I need help" And of course I'm the only one there! Accusing me of stealing and watching me down every aisle. This store needs new management. Once I got what I needed I found the same items on clearance. So I got those instead. And I got some toner and ink. And after I was done I went to checkout and asked Iola is I can use the restroom since there is a red stripe blocking it. And she said yeah it's fine and the Robert guys comes and said there's a bathroom at Starbucks for in and out. And viola said I can use the restroom even tho there's a tag. She was so nice about it. So I left my items with her she said she will save it when I checkout. And after I was done going to the restroom I came back and got rang up by her. she was so sweet. The robert guy went next to the checkout. And was watching me and watching viola. And I bought a few items and I wanted to do a price match since staples sign on the register says they do it. I found the same item I needed for cheap. It was a ink and toner cartridge I found it online for 20 bucks cheaper. So I showed viola my phone And I asked for a price match and Robert budded in and said that's the cheapest we could sell in online. There's no need for a price match. And viola said it's online for cheaper and Robert said Listen!!! No we can't do a price match. He was so mean to her yelling at her so unprofessional!!!! she gave me a price match. And robert said no you can't give a price match that's the cheapest we offer". And the clearance items were coming up as full price and "Robert guy said we can't give you the discount sorry. She went beyond and above and helped me get the best results. I even made a mistake on instructing my preference, and she was still so kind and re-did her job. Staples is a great place to get things in a hurry. I like the way they have there layout of the store. It's clean, organized and easy to get in and out of. I know that the prices of the products is a little higher than some other stores like OfficeMax but i like all the above things I mentioned. Another advantage is that thy have a print center that is way to get in and out of when you need some printed products quickly. The people are extremely friendly and helpful. They really care about the work they do and about the quality of the print jobs they do. Once I sent them a job and I realized that I had made a mistake in the original file I had sent. Staples printed the job and since it wasn't perfect they actually did not charge me. It was that big of a job but it's the thought that counts. Right? I came in here today to make labels and the young Asian guy working at the printing station had the WORST attitude I have ever experienced in customer service , I had questions because he said he couldn't print my labels on certain paper so I asked if I had the write paper and he said "never said you didn't" so I was like ... ok? And I asked him to print 2 pages of labels and he said ok 2 copies ? And I said as long as there's 2 pages sure and he says "they are called copies" basically just being a shithead then started rolling his shoulders and eyes Every time I would ask him something or talk to him and the manager did absolutely nothing about it just stood there and listened to it all . There's a lot of space between the annoying customer service member who won't leave you alone for 2 seconds, and the one that would ignore you if you caught on fire in the paper goods aisle. After almost 10 minutes of waiting behind the one customer in the one line that was open in the middle of the weekend day, I had to ask if they were going to call someone else to help me. The clerk looked annoyed that I had the audacity suggest that I didn't need to wait behind a guy whose printer cartridge problem could've been solved by Google. The manager was too busy to offer assistance because he was trying to unload a laptop to a couple who really wanted him to assure them that the open-box laptop was just as good as the brand new one. When someone finally came up to ring me up, it took him 5 minutes to figure out how to work the register, and I had to offer payment twice because the first time he cancelled the sale instead of accepting my tender. There were practically no other customers in the store. I counted at least 5 employees on the floor who were convinced that restocking the laptop accessory section was more important than selling anything to me. No longer do I have to go to downtown, pray for an open parking spot, hunt for quarters for the meter, and/or avoid the ONE crazy homeless man who insists that "THAT'S MY BICYCLE!!!". I ordered a black and white double-sided printing with binding online at 11:30pm on a Wednesday night, set for pick-up on Friday. I received an email at 7:30am the very next morning that my order was all ready to pick up. I was so skeptical of that possibly being true, but since Staples is so very conveniently located by City Sport, I dropped by that day after my workout. Sure enough, there it was in all it's glory! Since I already paid online, all I needed to give them was my name and phone number, and I was set to go. Super quick and easy! Some of the printing came out a little lighter than expected, but that was probably my fault for picking such a light font color (I made a planner and it was for some dates I wouldn't use anyway, but point taken for next time, go a little darker!) I'll also make sure to pick out 28lb paper instead of 24lb next time, which was also my fault for not knowing paper weights too well. The 24lb was fine for the job, just a tad bit see-through, but overall I was delighted with the result and the insanely fast service!!! Thank you, Staples! I went in yesterday and was "helped" by highly inefficient and clueless staff. I just needed a small flyer printed out for our girls scout event and it was a nightmare, complete fail. The server kept blocking my email and the people who worked there could not find me a "business solution" on how to use the file i wanted to print except to get it on a usb drive, meaning wasting another half hour to go and come back? Really? Do we really live in that era still after all the cloud capabilities out there? I even said i can give you a link to download the file after trying a few times to email their email account.. but they said they cant do that! The store only had one employee that was capable of printing my engineer print...and of course he was on break when I walked in. So I browsed. Store was reasonably clean and well organized. I don't think many people use Staples much anymore with the advancements of Amazon and online ordering. Anyway, when I walked back up to the desk, the one employee who could have printed my print was there. Yes! Then instead of showing me how my printout will look he says we can't do it because the words will be long and narrow. I told him that's how I wanted it. Oh, he says. I was waiting for you to come back. ‍ After 10 minutes he asks when I need my print. Um...I came in to print it right now! His printer was being a pain in the butt. If did finally print. The biggest disappointment in customer service was actually overheard. Another customer came in looking for something. The cashier asked if he could help them, then fumbled with a maybe it's on aisle 11?? Then when they left another employee corrected him and said he shouldn't have said anything at all if he didn't know?!?! Ok, so many things wrong here. Be courteous and ask what your customers want...then know where things are!! And if you don't, either find someone who does or (here's a novel idea) take them back and find it with them so you'll know next time. Sheesh. Ordered an iPad online. Picked it up the next day. Lady at the online pick up desk asked for my name (didn't look at my ID or my email) and went to go look for my item in the back room. I must have waited at the front for quite a while because my friend had wandered around the store, picked up a few items, and even paid for them before the lady came back. Lo and behold, she came back with the wrong item with the wrong name. Do I look like a Jeremy? I brought my computer in for repair because it was running slowly and seemed to have a virus. I hate that... The tech staff was somewhat unenthusiastic, or perhaps it just seemed like that because I was stressed about my computer, and perhaps I was expecting "yes! we CAN fix this" right away. I ended up having my repair done here and it did get done and all seems well. I also picked up a ream of paper for a good price and was able to recycle a few printer cartridges. I should have saw this coming when I, not two seconds into the store, witnessed a yelling match between a customer and the supervisor. My review however is for Erika. Before coming into this location I called ahead and spoke with Erika asking her to check stock for an item and it went a little like this: "I saw you have an item in stock and I wanted to call to check it you had it physically in in the store since I'm clear across the city. I would really appreciate if you made sure it's there and I even have a SKU to make it really easy." Erika said no problem, put me on hold and came back saying "yes we have one here." "Thank you so much!! I'll head over now." When I arrived I navigated my way through the escalating confrontation between said customer and manager. However, when directed to the shelf via a staff member we found it empty and, after radioing the front, informed me they had none in stock. I thought, no problem. I called ahead so it must be held up front. When I approached Erika's counter she looked at me and immediately tried to leave, knowing what I was looking for since we had just asked her on the radio. Instead of making an effort to help me she tip toed and waited just far enough away so the gentleman already assisting me had to start searching her area. She tried to leave again and we literally had to say that I "asked to speak with you specifically". Her body postured morphed into that of a guilty toddler, painfully sulking back over and not making eye contact. She stood there until I questioned her "I just spoke with you on the phone? Can you help us find this?" She reluctantly mumbled "there are two in the system" to the male staff member but not speaking to me directly. I politely called her out, hoping for any sort of acknowledgment: "So, when I called and asked if you had one physically in stock and you said 'yes'?... ... ..." ::blank stare:: ::crickets:: No reply. She literally just stood there exaggerating this awkward situation! No apology... nothing. Finally the other staff member got fed up with her too and told her: "FINE. I've got this. Just ... go." ARE YOU SERIOUS?! How do people with her level of interpersonal skills even get hired? I left with no device and no more time to check other locations since all my remaining time was spent driving to Erika's location and trying to pry information from her. It's not the mistake that I'm upset about because mistakes happen all the time. I am totally understanding (even if Erika was clearly in the wrong and didn't check when she said she did). It's how she handled her mistake that pisses me off and the subsequent position she put me in. Not taking care of a customer and not apologizing? Not acceptable. That elevates a simple mistake into a very awkward situation when it could have been easily resolved with a "Oh sorry, I checked the computer instead of the shelf". Heck, couple that with any number of excuses "we were so busy" and I'll gladly give you a smile and a "no big deal". Well, the way you handed it is now a "BIG DEAL". Good job creating problems instead of finding solutions. A little apology goes a LONG way. It makes customers feel valued! Lying, not helping those in need, and avoiding responsibility completely exacerbates the situation, especially when there isn't an approachable manager on site. I won't ever be shopping here again. Whenever possible I do like to shop at brick and mortar stores but interactions with employees like Erika make me feel good about shopping with Amazon and Google. I would have saved time, gas, and energy and I certainly wouldn't have felt like an inconvenience to the business I was supporting. read more

I was a bit weary of stopping in here since it was a new store. I came in to buy a laptop that I had seen online and thought that as long as they had it there and the person there was able to find it, I should be OK. The laptop I wanted was on display, so at least I wouldn't have to have a store vs website discussion. There were other laptops that I was thinking about upgrading to but the associate didn't really answer any of my questions so I got the one that I went in there for. After a couple of days I researched some more, and wanted to upgrade the laptop. I went back in there and had to bother the associate to let him know that I was there to upgrade my laptop. He gave me the "Sure thing man have a look at what we got". I would have least liked the courtesy of a polite greeting and didn't get it so I knew this would be an ordeal. After looking at some of the laptops, I did find one that I went to look at and it was there. I bothered the associate again to see if they had one in stock. After about 15mins he comes back and says he does but couldn't locate it. During that time I talked myself into upgrading to even the next laptop up from that and asked if they had those. After some confusion with the system he found it but wasn't sure if they had it in inventory. He started looking for where these units were and even asked his manager, who seemed to be talking to a "buddy" of his. After another 20mins or so he came back with a box that had the right markings on it. Turns out, it was the wrong unit and off they go again. Another 10-15mins and they are both back but then the manager disappears. He had never said a word to me and I really only dealt with the associate. So we start to finish the transaction as I had already been there over an hour and I was tired of being there. So he starts working on how to return the laptop I had bought previously......guess what, time goes by and it seems he needs to have the manager (I think his name was "Sonny") approve it first. He goes to look for him, and he is nowhere to be found. Then another associate comes to me and says "Sorry sir, our manager let for break and he should be back in about 15-20mins"......... That was about all I could handle. I said to them "I am going to leave" and those two kids didn't flinch. I must have done them favor by leaving. Anyway, I know it's a new store but I would have thought that a big corporation puts a lot of emphasis on training their store managers and associates, especially the new stores that need to make an impression. I guess I once again put too much faith into a retail store. Experiences like this make me enjoy online shopping more and more........ What is even more frustrating is that I purposely chose to go in the store after 7pm on a Wednesday in the hopes it would be quiet and I would get some attention. My advice, if they have something you want get it on staples.com and don't bother going into this store. With any luck, business at this store will decline enough to close it down or at least fire everyone there and start again. read more

I went for getting the photo print, and waited for 2 hours to confirm that the pictures are of good quality and everything is fine. the associate confirms all is good, and confirms the order. Next Morning, I get a call from staples, that we do not have these paper, and also the image is not scalable stating" we can go ahead, but image will not be good". After an argument, they never even felt its something wrong from there side, rather, just kept on saying we can move ahead but image quality is low. Price of printing seems like it has doubled. The quality is know where near what they are charging. Also they let go of their print techs constantly. Once you get a good tech that knows what their doing and does a good job they are gone. Pay your employees more so your service is constantly good. read more

Went in to buy a chair but they were out of stock. Jonny at staples went out of his way to lookup the particular chair on the catalog and then on the internal system. He spent about 15 mins while making sure other customers are not held up. He called a the Cupertino store and made a reservation for the chair. The dedication was really high. I wish had read some of these 1 star reviews before going to this store! As it happens, something has to be fundamentally systemically wrong to lead to this kind of problem. I had a very similar problem with the cashier, Abdi (or Abidil). He was just plain annoying, and simply to let me check out couple of items I had to struggle through various cash registers only because this person was simply mean, or he does not have any professionalism at all. I tried to call to complain with the store manager. I was put on hold for 10 monutes, and had to go through 10 options. The manager was not able to appreciate the problem. She just tried to treat everything business as usual!. I saw only only one other customer at 4pm, Friday. May be the owners of the store are too rich to worry about anything at all. read more

I had to print out a booklet/presentation pamphlet that I made for my precalculus class, and like the terrible student I am, I procrastinated way too much on this project, and it was due the next day (200 points!), but I finished it in time and I placed the order, and I had some questions about time and whatnot, so I called them, and unlike some other experiences mentioned here, my experience was great! The representative, Joe M. (i think; he looked like Santa) was very kind and answered all my questions thoroughly, and since I was on a time crunch, he offered to have it done in just one hour, and he came through! Derek is the person who was at the billing and didn't offer the staples printer and told me some bull shit rules regarding this.
