I went to the Bayshore Mall to get a haircut. It's the day before the semester starts. I check in at Supercuts. Lots of people. It'll be a half-hour wait. If I'm not back when they call my name, I'll lose my spot. I also need a cable and a gel pad. Can I make it to Staples and back in time? I walk around the mall. Hmm, maybe T.J. Maxx sells computer cables. I walk over and look through the big window but they've blocked off their interior entrance from the mall. Hey, I'm hungry. Maybe a little chocolate at one of these shops? Nah. So where's Staples? The map says it's right next to Kohl's. OK, I found Kohl's but I don't see Staples. I do some googling. Apple Maps says Staples is *that* way. I walk in that direction but still no Staples. A security guard's eyes lock onto two ladies walking down the hall. I ask him, "Where's Staples?" He says, a little hurriedly, "Outside." As I look for an exit, I hear him say in a commanding voice, "Ladies! There's no smoking in the mall." I get outside. Where's Staples? Now I see it. My half hour's nearly up. Now seconds count. I get inside Staples, walk straight forward, and there's a guy named Markus. He asks, "Can I help you find anything today?" Yes, I tell him. I'm looking for a USB-C-to-USB-C cable and a gel pad. He takes me to the cables. He knows every option and exactly what the trade-offs are. He asks if I'm using it to hook up a laptop to a charger. Yes. He tersely explains what I need to know. Seconds later, we're at the gel pads. He knows what they have, and he understands what I need. They don't carry it. Not one second wasted. I buy the cable and walk back to Supercuts. So I orderd some tires online they came to my house an there the wrong size I get the return lable sent to my phone, I go to staples in eureka an printed out two copies of the return lable as my tires came two by two after printed out i went to my car an pulled out two of the tires attached the lable an took them in side I waited in a some what long line I get to the front an tell the man I need these to be returned he said is the same lable for all 4 tires I said yes gave the two that was not attached he said imma need u to bring all 4 tires in okay so I go out to my car again an grab the other two tires attach the lable to thoes as well when I get n in the store there is now a new line that is longer so I wait again when I get to thr front again this SOB thinks hes funny an says u have to have them all attach to each other, really, cuz this is exactly how they came to me. So again I go out to my car an grab my packing tape an head to thr front of the line an get ready to tape all your tires together an he looked at the tires an thrn said u know what, I dont even think I can take these, wtf! What do u mean j can't take them he said yea u have to send it freight. I said are u for real? I know u didnf have me pull these two other tires out my car then go back to my car for tape just to tell me u can't ship it! I bought a $50 card for printing, the worker screwed up the print. I returned to get a refund and was told they do not let you get your cash back from their cards for the first time- would have been useful to know before I handed them $50. Then today I tried to use the $50 stuck on this card to print but was told they do not provide a simple print service via email. So no Google doc links can be sent for print and their website is so not user friendly it's impossible to load anything to print. I hate this store. read more

A smaller store than I'm used to but that didn't matter. I needed a new desk chair and stopped in here because it's the only place I knew I could probably purchase one same day around here. I was happy to see that they had a good selection of chairs to choose from and quickly tested each one. Before I could make my final decision, and employee came over to greet us and explained the promotions on the chairs. He was most helpful and even volunteered to carry the chair to the front of the store for us once we made our final decision. Quite the savior for my back! Haha The staff at the counter was very efficient and helpful and all in all it was a great purchase experience. I was excited to see they carried some Apple products too. I tried to buy a device here, and when I went into the store the associate tried to sell me a bunch of useless add-ons. When I politely declined, they went into the back "to check if it was in stock," then came back to tell me it wasn't -- except I had already checked online and knew they had 2 of them. I went outside, sat in my car, and used my phone to order the device for in-store pickup. Then I went back inside in thirty minutes and picked up my device that had apparently materialized in the interim. The online price was fifty dollars more than the in-store price, and the whole thing wasted a bunch of my time. The associate had lied to my face (badly) because they are probably told not to make dry sales without the useless add-ons. I didn't make a big stink of it in the store because it wasn't worth someone's job, and possibly management is encouraging this nonsense anyway. Buyer beware of this tactic. read more

First off, unless you have been there, don't use the GPS location or the you will wander inside the mall looking at empty storefronts and then go outside because the picture shows an outdoor entrance that is clear across the mall from its "Location" mark. This is also after finding that they moved from another mall to this mall... I was in search of a CPU fan, one listed on their website that said in stock. I went into the store and was immediately confronted by an assertive salesperson. She had the confidence of a manager. "Can I help you find something?" "I'm looking for a part you had on your website, a CPU fan." "Oh we don't carry that." "But your website says you have it in stock." "Our store is too small to carry PC components." I'm thinking to myself *what? seriously?* "Can I talk to a manager?" She IS the manager. I leave without further conversation. I will not be returning to that store. The day before yesterday we went in to buy a desktop computer for my very "uncomputerized" husband. We ended up buying one and they installed all of the programs I wanted for him. There is maybe one person working in this entire store that knows ANYTHING about what they are doing/talking about. This isn't saying much considering there are about 3 people working in the store at any one time. I haven't been here once where I didn't wander around looking for someone to answer a question for me/help me find something and haven't found anybody besides some weird stocking clerk that avoids any eye contact and tries to pretend I'm not there. I had the worst experience here last week. I couldn't find anything I was looking for and spent nearly an hour searching for my products. I wanted to ask for help, but not a single employee was to be found this entire time. When I finally went up to pay, the line was very long and the cashier was horribly unpleasant. He had no idea what he was doing. I had to run my card 3+ times due to his mistakes, and the whole time he was making unpleasant jokes, even after I made it very clear that his jokes weren't funny and made me uncomfortable. Then a young man strolls in and says nothing he can do because laptop cannot be powered. Skip this store! Tried to get an inexpensive shredder -- past experience dictates: call before heading over. Did. Didn't have what I wanted but offered a sub. Takes less than 10 minutes to get there and behold, no shredder, just the overpriced, expensive stuff. Past experience also dictates use local print shops: Gave an inflated quote but before hanging up they quipped, let us know what the local shops say because we will undercut their price! Picture this: Just days before Christmas my husband offers to buy me a new computer (PC). But where does someone with limited computer knowledge and a large list of computer needs go to buy that last minute computer? If the new computer also gets a 'blue screen', is there techs at Co__co that can fix it, or one of my many other computer concerns, on site? No. Not only did the tech staff at the Eureka California store helped me with my purchase, added on an additional word processing program, and the extended warranty, added on a new Family Tree Maker program, they transferred all of my precious historical documentation from my 2005 Family Tree Maker program. It was only about 3 weeks later that a blue screen appeared during the middle of one of my http searches. Turns out it was a scam. I took the computer back to Staples where they diagnosed the problem and fixed it. Between the original purchase, the transfer of data, and the tech who made me promise to only go to httpS sites, I believe I worked with every tech. They were exceedingly helpful and product knowledgeable. They only kept the computer for the day they said that they would, and called me to tell me to pick it up. I am extremely happy with the computer service department at the Eureka California store. read more
