I was treated with fake pleasantries. Joseph at the door would not let me into the store to return an item to the Amazon desk at exactly 7:02 pm and 18 seconds. Pleaded I would take a couple minutes since I have the scan codes. I got sorry , sorry , sorry. What could have Joseph done differently ? Well he could have explained that the Menaul location stays open until 9pm instead of drowning me with fake concern and a title waves of sorry. The employees that stare at the clock waiting for the second to shut down the front doors says something in itself. This is not a store that is here to support the neighborhood. Needed copies, so I went to Staples. Copies are not cheap anymore and currently, I don't have a printer. I am working with our NM Lions Operation KidSight group doing eyeglasses screenings for children. Lions will do for free. Pay for our own gas, time, and the paper for the info sent to the DEPT of Health here in New Mexico. Asked if a discount or reduction in cost would be possible. I believe it was Aaron , Assistant Manager , who assisted me....if not it was Keyton Retail Sales Supervisor. Set up a new account with them for our Kidsights Group. The girl Julia who processes Amazon returns was great. In fact she's the only employee actually working. I thought I had to drop a return at the ship center but you have no signs. That apathetic girl working that counter, who was on her phone said "it's at the register" so I went to one. Where the guy told me I had to go to a specific register and refused me help; this would have been useful to know since someone already had taken what would have been my place in line. It would have killed the girl at shipping to let me know that? And then the guy who refused me help went on to eat a bag of chocolate chips at his register like a slob. Poor customer service at print desk. Came in to pick up my print order that was ready for pick up. Attendant spent over 5 minutes helping someone at a copy machine while two of us waited in line. Totally ignoring us. Finally had to ask other sales clerk and they were clueless. Finally manager came out and helped. Occurred on 7/13, in AM. read more

I had a simple 2 page program to run off for a piano concert. Waited in line for 25 minutes because there is only one person behind the counter. Hours later I got a call from David who talked me through the order of the program and was very helpful, however for 65 copies of a two page program, they are charging me an astounding $188.00! I could've printed them out on my home computer and even bought ink refills for Pennie's on the dollar compared to $188.00! Absolutely insane pricing!! Run your copies off YOURSELF!! read more

Zero stars. We waited for 10 minutes at the Amazon return counter until I walked across the store to get someone to help. They saw us, but didn't want to come over. We waited so long, one guy who was standing in line behind us got fed up and left. The employees were young and very obviously be not want to be there. No customer service. Then I requested help with another issue. Another person behind the counter spoke to me about it and helped the person ahead of me. But instead of finishing up with me (next in line), she started helping a totally different person at another counter. I was already frustrated with the lack of customer service when I first got there, so I was not happy. This was on Sat, 6/14 around 12pm - 1pm. The manager needs to do a LOT more training. read more

I gave it one star because I couldn't give it a zero. Which is sad, because this staples has always been my go to for office, shipping supplies, etc since they opened and we've always had good experiences there. Until today. They had a sale on boxes, and the bins were clearly marked, so we bought 5 of each and when we got up to the counter, they were magically $1-2 more per bundle. The cashier-wearing a lucy nametag-went back and brought two price tags from the shelf-the wrong price tags-and then proceeded to get ugly(ier) when we told her that we didn't want the boxes at that price. I've worked in retail, and there are ways to tell people that they're wrong. Getting an ugly look and shoving tags in customers' faces isn't the way to do it. I know that you want to get back to chit chat with the guy you were standing with, but sometimes you need to do your job correctly and politely. It's really too bad; the others who worked there seemed like nice people. I wish we had gotten one of them, but I guess they were too busy working. I believe a personnel change is definitely in order here, which may happen, because my mother is contacting the manager and corporate... We'll be back, but hell will definitely freeze over before I allow her to wait on us again. Sorry. (edited to add) We found what we needed at WalMart for half of the Staples sale price and we could buy as few or as many as we wanted, so I guess this employee's behavior saved us money. I had some issues with getting my recent print order set up due to my own problems but Dave in print services went well above and beyond the call of duty to make sure my order was completed successfully. On top of that their prices are very reasonable. read more

Poor customer service. Had simple copy and scan job had to come back twice from Bosque Farms. When I picked they didn't even know if it was scanned like I already paid for. Then for simple three page copy scan charged more then other copies. Still didn't know what was done. I was in the neighborhood and needed 6 flyers made for work and was already on a time crunch so I went in to have them type up 3 sentences on a sheet of paper and they informed me that I must pay 25$ to design the page and then pay for copies. So I left. I never come to staples and I now know why, I always go to office max and they have NEVER charged me to whip up a flyer real quick and are always super friendly and extremely helpful. I ordered 5 cases of paper by phone (number from online website) on a Thursday afternoon to be delivered to Santa Fe. Since I was not going to be in the office the following Friday, I indicated that delivery should not take place until the next Monday. It snowed on Thursday night and more was forecast for Friday night. Late Friday afternoon a neighbor business to my office called to say I had 5 cases of paper at my front exterior door. At the same time I received an email indicating delivery was complete and signed for by "Smith". From that I concluded that Staples delivery doesn't care that the product was left out in the elements, that I asked for delayed delivery, that the product may be stolen since the business was obviously closed (door locked, blinds closed) and that they lie about a person accepting delivery. I had to interrupt what I was doing to drive to the office and move the paper to the inside. To make me angry, when I called to ask the Staples Montgomery Blvd. store about the issue, the employee said I should take it up with UPS! There are too many competitors in this space to put up with such lousy service so I'll buy elsewhere in the future. read more
