I was recommended to Stanton and gave them a try. I first went to the store in Greendale/Greenfield on 76th St. The employee at the store did nothing but rush me out and didn't even ask me if I had insurance. Just wrote up a bill without it, and then told me I would have to come back the next day because he was leaving for the day. He could have first asked if I had insurance. I did not go back to that store. So I tried the Drexel square store. They were polite and the lady who helped me was very nice and I got my glasses within 2 weeks. My prescription changed, so I went back to order glasses. First, I got a notification that my glasses were in, and I went to the store, and nobody could find them. They told me that they would look for them and call me. Never called, so I went back, and they said they did not find them and that they would re order them. That was 2 weeks ago. I still do not have my glasses. It's never taken a month to get my glasses. I feel Stanton Optical is not reliable enough for orders or communication. Maybe if we paid for the product at pickup instead of at order, they would take the title more professional. I do not recommend them if you need your glasses in a timely manner. read more

This company is an absolute joke! First off come for an eye exam to be told no Dr on site ummm okay, second off sorry we can't have you wearing a neck brace during your exam, and lastly the video chat with the dr doing the exam freezes during exam and they said that's okay we go enough info to prescribe your glasses, it's been 5 weeks and still no glasses and contacts came in couldn't see so I phone them and they say oh you still need to wear readers with them or pay for more expensive contacts, said glasses come in go to pick them up only to hear they are damaged and don't make the frame anymore so we need you to pick new frames. They prescribe your glasses with every up sell they can to try to make money! I should of questioned my total and I didn't but he could tell I was shocked but I paid my husband questioned his total and that's when he said oh we have the add one on here like the dr prescribed. I will never step foot into this place again. read more

Clean store. I was greeted promptly for my eye exam (only). They don't take my insurance but quickly showed me their price sheet while explaining their prices were much better than my insurance can offer. Sounded like a sales ploy. I asked for the price sheet and was denied. He told me it was proprietary property. I told him I wasn't in the market for glasses, just need an exam. He checked my current prescription. He performed the basics then brought me to an exam room where I was greeted by an optical technician on a computer monitor. He was pleasant, albeit a bit difficult to understand. Call me old fashioned, it felt cold and impersonal. When the exam was over, I was invited to look at frames while I waited for my prescription. It didn't take long. I was handed the prescription. I don't know if my prescription changed, if I have any vision issues, just here's your prescription, thank you, have a nice day. I'll be making an appointment with a qualified optometrist in the very near future. It'll be interesting to compare their findings vs Stanton. read more

Already wrote one review which I gave 1 star, because I could not give a zero. Anyway, from my first eye test back in March of 2024, I am still not done. had two failed eye exams, and needed an outside eye doctor for another exam. Finally after over 3 months I have eyeglasses and contacts that work. There is a ton more I could report, believe me. I am still waiting for my refund for my alternate eye exam, that I gave them over 35days ago. I told them 3x that I have still not received my credit! Nothing! No actual eye doctor on site, bad exams 2x, mislabeled contact lens boxes...... just absolutely incredible. ABSOLUTELY DON'T GO! read more

I read about their advertised $79 special for two pair of glasses and an exam. I registered on line and got a $25 off coupon as a first time customer. I thought lucky me. my insurance pays for lenses. this will be cheap. so I made an appt. I found out after I got there that the exam was a "telephonic" exam. strike one. My insurance would in fact cover my lenses but not new frames. The two for $79 cannot be used as I had insurance. strike two. The $25 off coupon was also not valid because I was applying insurance. strike three. My cost for new frames only would have been $199. no second pair. The salesman was very polite and helpful and I cancelled my appt and will go elsewhere. he was just playing the hand that Stanton corporate had dealt him. I would NEVER go back. this is clearly them finding ways to avoid having to follow their advertised special and coupons. read more

I went in on the 29th of January to have my eyes examined. I was able to purchase glasses right then and there but was told they wouldn't be available until February 10th. Which was fine until they got delayed until the 17th. Well the 17th came and still no glasses then come to find out they got delayed AGAIN! Finally yesterday I got the text saying my glasses were in but got the notification right as they were closing. So I left the house and was driving through the snow storm with a screaming baby just to get there and see a piece of paper that was written on saying they were closed. ARE YOU KIDDING ME?! I have been waiting for these glasses since I can barely see out the ones I have now. I'm very upset and they will be losing mine and my family's service. read more

I just got my glasses from Stanton Optical. They fit great. No adjustment needed. They have a large selection of frames. My order was done done in a week and a half just like they said. I hadn't got new glasses in about 5 years. I thought the price was quite reasonable. I think they are worth checking out. read more

Had to wait another two weeks after the bottom part of my trifocals wasn't right and it I couldn't walk in the glasses at all. Total time 4 weeks from purchase time. I may be taking them back for refund as the vision with the glasses is still blurry. I work and don't live near by so this is a pain to have run back and forth. I have read the reviews on Stanton Optical and I can honestly say that I was treated with respect by all the staff. My glasses were suppose to be in in 2 weeks and they arrived in one. I'm don't know this but maybe Stanton replaced the staff with better staff. Rena the manager was supper and very professional. The young lady that took care of me was Astrid. Perfect. Don't waste your time and money on this place. Unprofessional staffs, imprecise results, overcharged and really really rude. Instead of helping me out, they keeps chatting for almost 30 minutes. Looking for a refund cause it's a imprecise result (my eyes are so blurry and can't see really far), they gave me a different location to get my eye check again. my husband and I both got glasses from them two years ago. Happy with them. My husband went back this year and got two pair. He got coating on the lenses. After two months the coating is defective. When you clean the glasses the lenses are streaked. The manager told him the cleaner he used had alcohol in it. He took the cleaner along. No alcohol. The manager told him there was nothing he could do. I could see a year from now but two months? What a rip. I will be going somewhere else for mine. read more

Brianna was super attentive and helpful! I had an issue with the fit of my glasses and she took the time to correct it to ensure they fit exactly how I wanted! Also, with insurance this is one of the best deals I have ever gotten for glasses and sunglasses. Other places (visionworks, lenscrafters) even with insurance were charging $300-$400 for lenses and frames. At stanton I got new frames with lenses and new lenses in my own sunglasses and paid under $300 for both. Will definitely take care of all my eyewear needs at this location in the future! :) read more

Short staffed! My appointment was at 1:45 pm and I had to wait u til 2:30 pm to get in for the test then it took another 45 minutes to get thru the testing procedure with a non friendly doctor virtually!. At the end they told me that you need to come back in 2 weeks for another evaluation with real live doctor!!! So my 2 hour appointment was a complete waste! Not coming back again and don't recommend it. read more

First visit to Stanton Optical. The your lady who assisted us was nice. However, when I picked up my glasses the manager gave them to me and told me to wiat till morning to wear them as put on fresh in the AM. Did as asked. Could not see all was blurry. Went back to store and the manager stated I needed to wait a few days. Still cannot see-missed work- He was not happy when I told him I did not want him to assist me as the last time he was rude and did not even check to see if there was a problem. I then called in and was told to go to another store and I did in Greenfield- The people very nice and sorry to hear of my issue - they looked at original prescription with what was entered in the computer and apologized as the prescription was transposed. They took the glasses and marked up where the progressive lenses would need to be. Finally a week later I went in to pick them up. The person gave them to me and walked away. He advised I wait till the AM to wear them. I did! I cannot see yet as it is all blurry and I called and asked for a refund as this has gone on since November. I was told the the issue will be escalated to corporate office. Then an email sent to me letting me know it was sent to corporate- I hope this does not drag out much longer as I now need to go elsewhere and get glasses so I can see. Rated at a one star I would consider pretty bad. I have never in 50 years of wearing glasses had never had such a horrible experience. My blood pressure shot up as I had to see my doctor. My prescription was outside their eye doctors but I received it at the Eye Institute. I just want this nightmare to end. Give me a refund as I need glasses. Such a run around - My spouse also got glasses but he has not problems. read more

Terrible. It's a bait and switch operation. There are maybe 10 frames you can choose from for the $59 advertised special and they are ugly. My glasses were made wrong and I was told they were not. They were reading glasses. I stated whe reads with a book 2 inches from their nose! Demanded a refund after having to endure the pressure to have them remade and it took 23 days to get my check. Didn't take them that long to take my money. I actually contacted the Better Business bureau on them for help. All I can say is DON'T GO HERE FOR GLASSES read more

They have a very competent staff that uses attention to detail. Their eye exam was thorough and the opticians took time with me in choosing frames. I was not treated as just another number. I would strongly recommend Stanton Optical in Oak Creek to everyone! read more

Barb not only refused to give me the four boxes of contacts (6 month supply) that I ordered and paid for, but refused to give me a complete copy of the receipt showing the breakdown of cost. She took the receipt out of my husband's hand and put it directly into the shredder. Even after another employee who remembered me and my experience was telling her I should be receiving 4 boxes. This was after a horrible experience two weeks ago during my actual exam. The staff is completely untrained. There is no DOCTOR in the office - they appear on a screen from a call center. I spent over an hour waiting for the staff to figure out how to type my order into the computer and then waited longer while they had to call customer support to figure out how to input the correct price per their website. While I waited 3 customers came in complaining their glasses were not the correct RX. The staff told one customer that everything was entered into the computer correctly except the axis - and that should have nothing to do with how they are seeing. After leaving I was curious and simply googled how the axis affects your glasses. It drastically affects the line of sight out of glasses. After speaking to Greg at the corporate office, and confirming I didn't receive the proper order, Greg then called the store manager. I overheard their conversation. Greg was telling them that I was correct. Suddenly the call with the store manager was "disconnected". I will definitely never return. read more
