I'd like to give them 0 stars based on billing practices. They say they are not allowed to bill 2 different vision insurance policies. I've had medical providers including vision bill multiple insurance policies with no problem. Lens Crafters refused to do that. They do not offer a price list for the types of lenses available. They tell you price is based on your prescription. Apparently that sounds like they charge everyone different for the same lens. I talked to Vison Works who told me they do bill multiple insurance companies for one claim. Lens Crafters should do the same. Hi there, I did check and was told that we in fact can and do , do this. I would recommend calling back LC just to make sure someone was correct in what they shared so at least you get some clear peace of mind even if not the best end result . However again, I am told we do this at WV and it is not uncommon. Thank you !!! read more

Andrea to the rescue, the progressives were not quite working for me. The pair of progressive glasses for working did not work, the words on the screen had a blurriness to the. I thought that with more wear they would get better but that was not the case, decided to go in today after wearing the glasses off and on for about a week. Andrea helped by doing the professional eyewear thing and the new lenses are in development. Hoping the new lenses will work out for me when I pick them up. Stay tuned.... Almost all of their glasses are just what's popular. Mostly expensive name brands. Not many different choices. I had to deal with 2 different people for eye exam, with a wait in between. Then someone else who tried to get more money by talking about all the different lenses, etc. you can get. Super expensive in the end anyway. Not going back. read more

Horrible experience. Please do not go here! Totally inefficient process of doing an eye exam. Having to go back and forth between rooms and the doctor visit is on a screen, via Zoom. Then they have the audacity to tell us we have to take a class to learn how to put in contacts or they won't give them to us after we paid for them and the exam. When I asked for a refund they said I have to come in person. Your service sucks and I want my money back and you want me to drive to your store to get a refund. More inefficiency. AVOID AT ALL COSTS! I should have read the reviews of this place before doing business with LensCrafters in Greenfield Wisconsin. While I was there picking up contacts, I asked the sales associate if she could tighten the screws on my glasses that I had purchased elsewhere. The associate without hesitation, took him to the back room and tighten them. After about 3 weeks of them tightening the screws, cracks began to appear around all four screws on my lenses. I then asked the store what they could do to help me pay for new lenses because of what they did. The manager stated the sales associate should not have agreed to tighten the screws and said it is their policy not to pay for any damages they did if the glasses were not purchased from them. The manager was very rude and uncaring, and did not apologize once for the damage that will now cost me about $300. read more

Looking at the reviews, people either love them or hate them. I personally have had nothing but positive and polite experiences here. I'm greeted pretty quickly and offered assistance if needed. I tend to pick the more bougie setup (designer frames and blue light reduction lenses), so I'm not surprised with the prices I have paid. But with decent insurance, they definitely are a lot less than than the sticker price. I recommend utilizing the birthday coupon because it's 50% off frames and lenses. read more

I been a customer of Lens Crafters for years for eye exams & to purchase multiple pairs of eye and sun glasses. I recently stopped by for a print out of a previous transaction for several pair of eye glasses & the employee was abrupt rude & told me she was busy and would get around to it. I waited about 15-20 minutes and I walked out & left. There were allot of people waiting in the back waiting area for exams etc. but seem they seem to have very little staff to no staff who were unable to handle the amount of people in there. I understand people may have called in sick or they may have been shorthanded that day. This company seems to have follow the normal corporate model these days raise prices, increase work for employees, but not increase pay thereby leading to unhappy employees in a shortage of staff. I did notice during my last exam about a year ago that they now have shifted to the staff doing all of the set up/exam work prior to seeing or speaking to doctors in person and or by telephone-visit thereby cutting cost for the company by having fewer doctors but allot more work for the employees. The stores are pretty &they have a nice section of glasses, but the prices have became increasingly higher pretty much unaffordable but the level of service has changed and all of the work seem to have shifted towards the employees and not the doctors. Prior to the store being remodeled several years ago they used to have a significant amount of staff who were pleasant and helpful, and they also made the glasses right there which was the benefit of paying more but was super convenient but that no longer exists. I have never believe in discount eyeglass places, but with the extremely high prices and lack of service now I'm going to look to a discount eye glass store. It's really a shame this story used to be a fantastic store but no longer. read more

Under my account stated upcoming eye exam with the date time my name the doctors name and the location which was scheduled for January 11th at noon. I also received a phone call days prior to confirm my appointment. The day of my appointment I arrived ten minutes early for them to tell me I don't have an appointment. I logged into my account showed her my appointment and also stated to her I had received a confirmation call. DO NOT SHOP AT LENS CRAFTERS (( unless you want to spend a TON of money )) So yesterday I went to Lens Crafters with my new prescription I had just gotten from my eye doctor. I was super excited to get a new pair of glasses finally since my old ones were no good. I decided to go to Lens Crafters since that's where I'd gone in the past and was always happy with my experience. I picked out a pair of cute pink Michael Kors frames which were $172. I expected that much for frames since I've had Versace ones in the past which were also very expensive. I brought the frames I selected out to the girl and she helped ring me out. I told her I had a really high prescription (-9) and would need Feather Weight lenses to thin them out. She told me she recommended the High Index due to my high prescription. However it was a $300 price difference between feather weight or high index, so I took my chances on the Feather Weights. My glasses came in today, totaling $473. When I went to get them.....I was SO disappointed. The lenses weren't even thinned out. If I wanted them THIN I would've had to have paid $784. I was NOT happy. I came home and started looking around online. I went to Warby Parker online. For an almost IDENTICAL pair of glasses....WITH HIGH INDEX thin lenses.....WITH free shipping.....WITH scratch protection for free......and with my "high prescription"...... My complete total was $125 So instead of $784 for the high index thin lenses I paid $125 and the frames are seriously almost identical I can't even tell the difference. Where does Lens Crafters come up with these crazy high prices for their lenses??????? Needless to say I returned my Lens Crafters ones and will only be going through Warby Parker from now on! read more

WOULD NOT RECOMMEND!!! I arrived with my child to get an eye exam for him that was previously scheduled. I spoke with the retail manager and he stated he didn't see an appointment. I attempted to show him the mail showing I did and he refused to look only trailing "I don't know what you want me to do? I don't see an appointment and I'm not going to bump someone else back for you" I was appalled and couldn't believe he was talking to me in this manner. I calmly advised him he was being hostile and that I never asked him to bump anyone just simply sitting there must be something wrong with their scheduling system. He begins saying again but lowering his tone because now he's caused a scene " I don't see an appointment." I said "Okay and left the store." Listen I get it things mess up but to be spoken to that way when it was no one's fault is unacceptable. I called back and spoke to the store manager who provided me with the corporate officer's phone number. Her only concern was me naming the correct employee in my complaint to corporate. I don't recommend this Location to anyone especially not a minority because they will not be pleasant. read more

I purchased three pair of glasses which was a sizable amount of money. Right in the viewing area of the glasses there appeared to be bubbles or scratches after I just had the glasses one week it's supposed to be at 100% satisfaction for 30 days. Instead I was accused of dropping my glasses or somehow miss handling them causing the scratches. I took care of the glasses exactly as I was taught including buying the LensCrafters cleaning kits. I was told remaking the lens would cost $368. Even if they insist on blaming me for the scratches, you think they would find some sort of wiggle room on the price. This is certainly not 100% satisfaction for a very expensive purchase. I would definitely not return there They are invested in the money not the customer. It's been two weeks now in my third pair of glasses is still not in so I just returned them. I don't want to deal with this company. read more

I would give it a MINUS 5 stars if I could. Terrible! Went in to purchase new frames and lenses. Found what I wanted, and sat down for purchase. Payment terminal charged my debit card twice. Over $1200 deduction from my account! When I called it to their attention, I was told it would be three to five days before almost $700 would be returned. I am on Social Security. A Senior Citizen. I was very upset needless to say. The manager started to threaten me saying I was "invading her space" because I was upset!!! I had not moved from the seat. I had not threatened her in any way. All I said was their practice was "unacceptable " I canceled the entire order and her response when I was leaving was: "I hope you have the day you deserve" This is customer service at its VERY WORST. Mykel Key the employee was SO incredible rude and arrogant. I will never go back again! She enters my daughter's prescription in wrong and my daughter asked her nicely if the numbers on the doctors paper should match and Mykel was agitated and rude. Especially when we didn't get the expensive lenses. I was asking questions about the lenses and she was down right ugly and rude. No smile just a dry rotten ugly attitude and look on her face. I ran out of contacts a long time ago (somewhere around the 1.5 year mark) and the prescription in my glasses was WAAYYYY to old to wear, but I put off getting an eye exam because like Stephen, I hate the whole process....making an appointment, being scolded for not wearing my glasses, etc. The online scheduling was a breeze! I made an appointment for me and the mrs at the same time. That alone makes it 5 stars. We show up for our appointments and are quickly greeted by an employee who checks us in and tells us to browse the frames. I found the selection to be very large but not overwhelming. We both found frames we liked. I was completely prepared to be rushed through the eye exam process since it is a chain and was pretty busy. Instead, I felt like I got really personal and attentive service from both the assistant and the eye doctor. He took the time to explain to me more about my vision then the pricy eye place I used to go to on the east side. We both had our eyes checked and walked out with new glasses in under 2 hours. I had to order my contacts since they don't stock one of my prescriptions. Five business days later they called me to tell me they arrived, I stopped in, told them why I was there and 2 minutes later walked out with my lenses. I'm lazy when it comes to eye appointments. It's one of those things about trying to be all "taking care of my body" while actually being "it works, leave it alone" in practice. I hate the puff test. I hate the "number one or number two, number two or number three" lens switching. And I hate being told that I need to take better care of my glasses because they always get scratched. This is the first establishment that I've gone to where they make the whole process painless. They're very welcoming and aren't at all condescending to the customer. I've been coming here for a few years now, and I'm very happy that I found them. Most recently, I flew home from Europe for leave and found that, while doing an inspection of my duffel, the TSA managed to misplace my hygiene kit containing my duffel. I called LensCrafters to ask for help, and even though I was overdue for an exam and didn't have time for an appointment, they had two boxes of lenses waiting for me at the counter within the hour. I had one of the worst customer experiences ever. The manager treated me terribly. I went in to have new lenses put into old frames and the frames got broken. I eventually brought replacement frames in and the new lenses were fitted, but the manager just handed me the glasses in a used case and did not offer to fit the glasses. I felt as if I was simply a bother to her and felt somehow at blame for the problems. I will not go back to LensCrafters at the Steinmart Plaza. read more
