After 3 lens remakes was lucky to eventually get a working pair of glasses. The First Virtual Exam was completely useless. The Second Remake was also useless. The Eye Wear Fitting Staff conceded that a usable pair of glasses was not possible and offered to refund my money for the frames and lenses minus the $79 Virtual Examination Fee. When I reminded them of their initial commitment to work hard to deliver a new pair of usable glasses they grudgingly agreed to another Virtual Eye Exam which apparently costs extra money they did not want to spend on what they decided was a losing proposition. Luckily, the Retake Eye Exam was completed by a "More Competent" Virtual Optometrist who prescribed a Working Eye Prescription. Got a Great Deal on Two(2) Pairs of Glasses and Progressive Lenses. These people lied to me. I called their customer service and the location in Fort worth to make sure they took my insurance. Everyone said yes. When I was checking out the gal said it's going to cost you $360 with your insurance but I can get you a discount if we go out of network. That statement right there gives me the impression Im in network but its cheaper if we go out of network. Come to find out I was NEVER IN NETWORK. Why in the hell would I want to get glasses out of network. They knew I was out of network and purposely did not tell me because they knew I wouldn't do business with them. With my insurance it will cost me $180. They charged me $250. They have 2 choices, either honor my insurance or refund me fully so I can go to an in Network. DO NOT GO HERE. Very disappointing experience. I was told over the phone that my insurance was accepted and an appointment was scheduled. At no point was I told the exam would be telehealth or that seeing an in-person doctor would cost an extra $29 even with insurance. After taking time off work and arriving early, I was given completely different information by the office staff -- including that my insurance was not accepted. The inconsistency between phone staff and in-office staff is unacceptable and misleading. This visit was a total waste of time. read more

This chain is the worst! Let's start with the "free eye exam" conducted over the internet with a video screen. There is no prescription given at the end, apparently it only available to the people in the store. Then there's my biggest complaint- the glasses are crap. They're cheap in the extreme. My frames broke twice during the time I had them and they shed nose pieces regularly. My wife's glasses frame came apart and we had to wire it back together. The "service plan" we had shelled out for apparently expired about twenty minutes after we left, so we were SOL. I would never go to this place again. I would get a seeing-eye dog first. read more

Shaycie at the North Frisco location on us hwy 380, was very sweet. The experience overall was rather impersonal though as the actual exam was done remotely, the Dr. was streaming and controlling everything digitally. My big problem was the lack of complete information and transparency. I ended up paying almost $400 for my glasses while my daughter went to another Stanton location and paid $140 for the same features. Shaycie told me that the lenses I would need were not available at the $79 cost and would need to upgrade my frame choice and lenses package. Truth was, I could have chosen the less expensive frames and paid $129 for the frames and the lenses I needed, bringing my total to $140. Shaycie's response when I questioned her, "well, they didn't have pretty frames in the cheaper options." Sweetie, I would have settled for ugly to only pay $140 vs. $400. read more

It's discouraging to still be charge 45 dollars and leave empty handed without a paper Eye Prescription m When I first walked in, they said they don't except my insurance... Then was offer a discount plan... where the exam would still be free. Turned out it was a LIE.. My original appointment was scheduled for 1 pm... I didn't get called back till close till 1:30 pm - for the 3 small test. Then wasn't called back again till close till 2 pm for the actual eye exam... The eye exam was virtual... I kept explaining, I didn't understand or that I couldn't see. Instead of rephrase three question or show a different line. They just repeat the previous question or statement. While looking around for frames... I told after 2 technicians they both wasn't sure how to diagnose my eyes. It's unfortunate the 2 Technicians did not know how to explain or assist with patients with disabilities challenges. I lost the option of the discount ..... and had to pay for the exam. I only stay, kept the appointment due to the discount plan was offer, where the eye exam would had be FREE... And received a discount on the eye glasses. Turned out the CREW exam was also a LIE too. If I had known the 2 virtual technicians would had been able to diagnose me. I would had left & continue to tried to find another place, another location. I am beyond disappointed with my experience at Stanton an eye care center in Weatherford . After NOT being informed that all doctors were tele-health, and being seen, I was then told I needed to see an in-house doctor for my left eye. I was still charged over $100. No contacts. No script: Nothing. The girls working there including manager have no degrees or certifications in optometry. I will be contacting bbb and the health board. This place is a scam. read more

We had ordered a prescription refill for my wife's contact lenses over two weeks ago from our regular optical shop, not Stanton, and they had repeatedly told us that it would take about one week to get her prescription from the warehouse. They finally told us on Monday , "We should get them in by Friday or Saturday." She is to catch a flight tomorrow on Wednesday so that timeframe was not helpful. I made one call to Stanton Optical on South Hulen St in Fort Worth and they were great help and got her a ten day supply to get her through her trip to visit family! Super friendly staff! This place is awful I went for an exam, got 2 pairs of glasses, one with the sunglasses change, and one regular its been 1 month since I went to this place. I am not happy with Eye Lab. This time will be the 5th time they have made my glasses. They always blame the people cutting the lens.

I'm not one to take the time to give a review but after listening to a customer whom wasn't happy with her service berate the young sales women I had to compliment not only the sales associate but the manager whom walked it just as the customer left. The lab is who she should be angry at not the sales team. Myself and my two sons have all been here and not only gotten our exam but our glasses and sunglasses here. It's convenient and they will go out of there way to make it right. Prices are good and join the eye glass club.. $39 and 4 free frames over 2 yrs.... for the family to use. Great service. read more

The virtual eye exam was fine and well conducted but after that things went down hill fast. Ordered two pairs of identical sunglasses. First they call me to pick up and when I get down there they tell me oh, only one is in. So I have to make a second trip in. Then I find the sunglasses have nose pieces that aren't attached they have just two nubs and fall off instantly. I stop in and they tell me they will have to have a manager call me because they don't know how to order them. The manager never calls, I call them up and they said well we have been busy so we don't return calls. They then tell me I have to pay to have the glasses replaced and it takes a few weeks. Wow. Just wow. So far it's been a pretty bad experience. Last Monday I was told my glasses would be in within a day or two. Wednesday they were still not in. Monday I called and after a 20 min wait on the phone the rep hung up rather than transferring me. Another call and I was told they would be in by Tuesday. Today (weds) I called and was told they weren't ready and they would check with the lab. They put me on hold. Another person from a different company picked up the phone and said he would help me. He looked them up and said they were ready to pickup and I could get them in the store. I asked him to double check. He checked and found out they weren't ready. Maybe I'll have glasses tomorrow. Maybe I'll have glasses next week. Not a good experience so far. read more

Bait and switch! Made appointment after talking to a guy on the phone about a minor scratch on my glasses that I had purchased there. Told me to come in and they would fix it, buff it out. When I got there they acted as if I didn't have an appointment, but still took me. And then said no they don't fix lenses. I would have to send out my glasses (and be without them for a week) and they would replace the lens at a small cost of course. And that's with the warranty! And they were not nice about it. We really enjoyed our experience at this eye clinic. The staff was very warm and friendly even in the midst of this pandemic. You can tell they really prioritize cleanliness and customer safety as they were all wearing masks and gloves and took our temperatures as we walked in. I should have read these reviews before considering this location for an eye exam. I made an appointment over the phone at 6:00 pm. I got a confirmation email and text message for an appointment at 6:25 pm. I arrived at the place at 2:20 pm and the person in charge looked confused stating that appointments can't be made close to that time. I explained that I had the confirmation for the appointment and she said that the system (computer) was already shut off and that she couldn't verify the appointment. However she managed to cancel my appointment because I did got an email that said: thank you for canceling the appointment ...? didn't cancel it. She did. She said she couldn't see my appointment but she actually could cancel it??? So I wasted my time and gas. Very unprofessional practices. read more

Well I should have looked at the reviews before I went. I was mislead by my wonderful in person experience. They were so kind and even gave me a free pair of sunglasses for my wait time! Now for the one star. My appointment was 01/08. I knew this trip was going to be expensive because I needed new contacts as well as new frames/lens. That was no issue. They assured me my contacts would be in rapidly but the glasses will be 2 weeks. My contacts arrived shortly after (3-5 days) but I wanted to wait until my glasses were in so I didn't have to make multiple trips. Well that was not the case. After 01/22, I contacted them and asked why I haven't been notified to pick up. No answer. A week later (01/29), I was told they had to remake them but the new pair should be ready 02/05. I'm now writing this review 02/11 and my glasses have been delayed yet again. It's been over a month!!! Absolutely ridiculous and they never contact me with updates about the process! I do not recommend this place at all and I will avoid it from now on. I called in advance before making an appointment to make sure that they accepted my insurance. I was led to believe on 2 separate occasions that my insurance benefits were being used towards my visit and my contacts. This was a lie as they are not on my plan and are out of network. I was not expecting the vision test to be conducted by a technician via a remote tele visit. I was sent home with a pair of trial contacts. No charge for anything. 2 weeks later, I realized that I could see better far away and up close with readers on! I went back for a recheck. This time, the prescription was way different than the first. I received another set of trials. However, this time I was expected to order contacts. I then was assured that my insurance was being used. $250 later, my contacts were ordered and I was out the door. One week later, something was still not right with my prescription. Went for another recheck. This time I was assisted by a tech that gave me a different strength to try. I could finally see. After almost a month and a half. MY contact prescription was updated and the contacts that were ordered were sent back to be updated. When the contacts finally arrived, they arrived at the wrong store 20 miles away. When does it stop. For me, it stops now. I will avoid this place like the plague. The good thing is, I still have my full insurance benefits for the rest of the year to use elsewhere. read more

just visited your Fort Worth location and pretty disappointed overall. There wasn't enough staff to take care of everyone that was there, I waited 20 minutes after my appointment time, and waited another 45 minutes for the doctor to approve my prescription in which didn't happen before I left because the doctor would not reply to any of their teams phone calls or text! There we're several people that walked out before me because we can't wait all day for the doctor to finally reply. There's needs to be an alternative when your doctors refuse to answer their phones. They couldn't fit me with glasses or contacts because of the doctor not answering. If I would have known that I was going to be there for nearly 2 hours I would have just went to my regular eye doctor across town. However, the staff was nice. I was excited to try this new Eye Lab that opened up near me. Open on the weekends, I wasn't going to have to take time off work to get an eye exam. Sept. 1st I got the exam, ordered a pair of progressive lens glasses which I'd never had before. They were promised in 2 weeks, so I waited that amount of time before calling them to see if they were in. I was told they were, so ran over there to get them. Here's the first problem. Tried them out and couldn't see. I saw better without them. They took them to the back room, came out and said that they put the distance in the wrong eye and that they added something in there for astigmatism, which I don't have. They made sure the prescription was correct as well as the order entered correctly in the computer, which it was. Ordered a second pair. So I wait 2 more weeks, and call them again to see if they came in. Sat on hold for several minutes before she came back on and said they were there. I went again to pick them up, tried them on, and promptly handed them back. I'll be damned if it wasn't the exact same pair they tried to give me the first time. I know this because there was a mark on one of the lenses that was there the first time. Then they tell me that I chose the wrong frames for progressive lenses. Too small, and that maybe they couldn't fit it all in. Ok, but shouldn't someone have been able to tell me that when I originally placed the order? At this point she tells me she will refit me for "free". Well it wasn't free, as I paid $257.00 for 1 pair (which I still didn't have). I didn't do the 2 prs for $59. So she hands me another frame to try on, which I didn't even like but was tired of it all. Orders what is now the 3rd pair of glasses and they were going to put a rush on them. I think they said 3-5 days. I give it that long and go up there again. On 10/7 I sat down with the store manager, Tiffany, and requested a full refund ( this 3rd pair still wasn't in) and for the amount my insurance company paid out to be refunded to them as well, since I was going to need them to cover a pair of glasses elsewhere. Of course she didn't want to do that. She refunded me $200 back, ordered me another complementary pair of glasses, and nicely found a pair of frames(free of charge) that would fit my current old lenses to use while I was waiting. My frames were broken. This is already a long story so to wrap it up, when the third pair came in they were better, but I've been wearing them for approximately a month and a half and I still prefer my old pair. They said there is a learning curve for progressive lenses, and I feel by now I should be able to see properly. Bottom line is, there is very poor communication in that store. Every conversation has been initiated by me, I never once received a single phone call from them that my glasses were in. I don't feel I should have to chase them down, when they promised to call as soon as they came in. 4 pairs of glasses total ordered, I have only received the one. The "complimentary " pair never showed up or if they did, no one called. At this point, I am just done with them. The only nice thing I can say is that I got new frames for my old out of date lenses, which is my go to pair. The new pair is useless and blurry. I was very pleased with my experience at Eyelab. I was able to schedule my appointment for contact lens fitting via the internet. The staff from the moment I walked in was very courteous and extremely helpful. I loved the telemedicine eye exam it was much more efficient and comfortable than my previous exams. They accepted my insurance and what I really loved was no high pressure to purchase anything. They were happy to just provide my prescription and told me to just make sure I purchase from somewhere that takes my benefits so I could use my benefit monies remaining. Will never visit a 'traditional' optometrist office again. Made something I normally dread very enjoyable and didn't have to use half my day doing it. Took less than 50 minutes from start to finish:). Plus they were open on Labor Day so I didn't have to take off work!! read more

Very nice staff but poor quality frames i have tried for 6 months to get a correct Rx for glasses and Contacts. Contacts are close but glasses are not even close i have had several eye exams i finally asked them to just give me my old RX and when i got them back i cant even read with them. Now im trying to get a refund. Never Ever will i Go Back. Frames are generic its not a good place to go. The staff tries but its just bad Opticians Optomitrists are very questionable. read more

We were pretty disappointed because we didn't even get in the door. We showed up 10 minutes before our appointment time and they told us we had to wait in our car. We watched as they allowed three people to go in ahead of us one of which said her appointment was an hour ago. Eventually our car started to run out of gas and we had to leave because it was so hot outside we were running the air conditioning.
