Ordered my glasses two weeks ago and called on Friday to see if they were ready. They asked if I could hold and I could not because I had a gig I had to get to. Gave them my name and number to call me back and leave a message. They never did call back. That forced me to come on Yelp to see what kind of reviews and regret not reading before going there. Called and they said my glasses have been ready but they didn't have my phone number to call me? I gave it to them when I had the appointment and then again when I called on Friday. At least I got an eye exam for $45 that got discounted off the glass price. In regards to the $78 special you have to read the fine print. Only glass lenses up to +4 are included and frames are restricted to $59 and below. We were prepared before we went in knowing what to expect as my prescription is only +2.75 I will update this after receiving and using my new glasses. Hopefully mine don't fall apart like others have. read more

I have been wearing glasses/contact lenses for over 25 years, never had this kind of bad experience with optometrists. First of all, Stanton optical is not honest about appointment details and how much you need to pay. They do great marketing and talk nicely over the phone when you make appointment. They charge you $45 per eye exam, even if your insurance fully covers the eye exam. Because, they want you to buy eye glasses from their store even if you need only contact lenses. (That $45 is applied towards eyeglass if you buy one from them; otherwise it's gone) This is a fine print in the agreement and they dont tell you when you make appointment. I suspect lot of people dont read this fine print in the agreement and just sign it. I strongly advice anyone to read the agreement (that they give you in a iPad), and dont check the checkboxes until you fully understand and agree to the terms and conditions. Also, there is no optometrist you can talk to in person!!! It's all telehealth. If you need a personalized experience with an optometrist, this is not the place. I will never go again here. read more

I been low on cash so I decided to use their facilities.Plus we moved to far from our regular eye doctor. The employees were really nice and helpful. But I walked in and the two ladies working that day had to catch up on their personal business before I was help. They did greed me but after standing there waiting. 10 minutes or so. But that's ok I was not particularly in a hurry. But I noticed that machines are not being wiped after issues went into examination room and the eye machine was all blurry do to smug on the glass. I heard a lady say that they should clean it but after I walked in it was still dirty. I don't think I will use them again first and last for me. read more

My husband lost his glasses at Sunsplash. We were searching for a place that could do same day besides Lens Crafters. We went to the one in Roseville, they were not trying to help us at all, so we came to this location. We made an appointment and were seen pretty quickly. The manager made sure my husband had his glasses by 4 pm so he can go to work, because he did not have a spare. :( great customer service!!!!. My only complaint is that the second pair came in three weeks later, as compared to them telling us two weeks. Personally, I usually go to Lens Crafters for higher end frames (Tiffany, Prada, etc.). They are a lot cheaper than Lens Crafters, but it depends if you want inexpensive compared to higher end quality. If you need a pair of glasses in a hurry and do not want to spend a lot for one frame, this is the place to get them. read more

Worst experience ever! Absolutely no customer service. I did not feel taken care of as I did with competitors. Took my two children in. One for an eye exam and both for glasses. We entered at 3:45 and did not leave until 6:15. The eye exam was not free as advertised. They claimed insurance didn't cover my daughter but it did for my son. So one child did not get glasses. I want to start off by saying that, the service I received today at Stanton Optical from start to finish was exceptionally good. With that said, here goes my story/review. I have been procrastinating getting an eye exam because I thought I could purchase computer glasses that were in my eyes (no pun intended) cheaper at a drug store. Not only would I have saved money by going to my local drug store, but the time spent would be less of a burden, since I wouldn't have to take time off work for to go to an appointment. However, these past few months I noticed my vision has gotten a bit worse, as I feel myself straining my eyes a lot more when I am on my computer, to the point where I have constant headache's at the end of my work day. That's when i realized my eye prescription had changed. This morning, I decided to call Stanton Optics to schedule an appt in order to take advantage of my time off. My eye exam was booked within 5 minutes of making my call for an appt scheduled (at my request) an hour later, that same day. As soon as I entered the store a gentlemen introduced himself as Chris. He took me over to the eye exam waiting room where I was checked in promptly. Dr. Chris White (yes, ladies and gentlemen both individuals that assisted me have the same first name). Dr. White listened to all of my issues. He even went as far as letting me sit in front of his computer to help gauge how far I sit from my own computer at work. Dr. White was a true professional, very personable and not at all grumpy like other optometrists I have interacted with in the past. After my exam was completed, the othere Chris (sales manager) took me over to examine the frames that were available in their store. I must say, this process took the longest simply because I am a very indecisive person. Through my back and forth, Chris stayed with me the entire time. He helped me figure out by narrowing down my selections, which frames were the best fit for me based on my likes and dislikes. Never once acting as though he was annoyed, or like he had something more important to do - as I have experienced this type of mannerisms in the past. Needless to say, I walked out of Stanton Optical with my new prescription (free) and two sets of computer glasses - I took advantage of their "buy one frame, get another frame for free," special. I also received an AMAZING deal, too good to pass up. In closing, the entire staff was fantastic. But the two people that stood out were Dr. White, who managed to restore my faith in optometrists and of course Chris the sales manager. Chris managed with his hard work and outstanding customer service to make me a permanent customer of Stanton Optical. His consideration, committed and confidence managed - IN MY EYES - to elevate the overall success of this store and of course my overall clouded misconception of optometry stores. His tenacity and dedication to his job, is one I have not seen in quiet some time. I highly recommend anyone who reads this review to bring your business to Stanton Optical, you will not be disappointed. read more

To be fair - this is NOT an update on the review of the quality of the glasses but the new processes they put in place for those of us who cannot use our lenses. I contacted corporate, did a brief overview of my issues, sent a copy of a letter my optometrist gave me after analyzing the lenses and finding they were not even close to my prescription (I should have known my headaches were coming from somewhere as I don't get them...I kept blaming stress and allergies), sent them the recent "Call Kurtis" local consumer complaint person on local news, and copies of my reviews, I almost immediately received a response from the customer service manager issuing a full refund - only "catch" was I had to return the glasses (fair) to the store...where I swore I would never go back!!! I hate being treated like a nuisance when without customers, there is NO BUSINESS. I have to say I ran into Martha again, she remembered me, she introduced me to a manager who processed my refund with profuse apologies and it was actually a pleasant experience. They seem to have been getting better people there - there is hope! read more

These guys are great! The whole process from exam to completion was hassle free and led by a really friendly staff. I highly recommend this location. The manager, Kristine (Osterberg) is a class act. She is upbeat, incredibly helpful and the ultimate professional when dealing with customers. It was particularly crowded during my initial visit but Christine made sure everyone was acknowledged and aware of current wait times, etc. The whole experience was stress free and pleasant which is a rarity with the many Covid restrictions in place. Stanton is up to par with Covid-19 precautions and requires masks be worn and temps taken before entering the store. Good job, Stanton (at Madison Ave. In Fair Oaks) and a special thanks to Manager, Kristine, for all your help, patience and attention to detail. I am a happy customer! read more

If I could give negative stars I would. I called for pricing. I was told it would be $99 for the exam and 2 pair of glasses. I scheduled an appointment for my husband. His appointment was at 2:05. I waited in the car during the exam but I knew he would want my opinion on glasses. Finally at 3:15 I got a text WTHeck took so long? I go in and the selection was not great but we finally decided on a pair. I was NEVER told that there was a limit of about 10 pairs of BUTT UGLY glasses that qualify for the 2 for $99 or we would have stayed home. The exam was done by a doctor (possibly) on a computer monitor. That's right, he never saw a doctor in person. When all was said and done it was going to be around $200 for ONE pair of glasses that neither of us liked all that much. He is a diabetic which is why at 53 yo he now needs glasses. The lady had the nerve to say we needed to pay for the non doctor exam. Nope I don't think so. They really need to communicate their pricing a lot better and actually get a REAL in person doctor. read more

I took my dad in for a eye exam because he needed glasses and I figured since he was in town i would take him. I know we were walk-ins and if they had at least just stated that they couldn't see us and to schedule a appointment that would have been understandable BUT when we walked in we couldn't get anyone to help us at first. Once I was able to talk to someone (the optometrist) his response was well do you have a appointment I said no bit since there is no one in the entire store can he just get a exam he then rolled his eyes and told us to check with the receptionist. The receptionist wad nice and very helpful and got us back right away unfortunately thats not where the rudeness ended the optometrist felt the need to make my dad feel bad about not having a appointment and how lucky he is that he is willing to see him . Its hard enough to get someone who is uncomfortable with doctors, dentist ect to go in and get the necessary work done don't make them feel like shit because you are lazy and didn't want to see a walk in purely out of the fact that you didn't want to work. Moral of the story the optometrist at this location has terrible chair side manner and you should get your eyes checked elsewhere if you want to be treated with respect read more

I cannot express how filthy dirty this place is. I am not one to complain but having being there twice I feel the need to share what I've witnessed. First visit the first thing I noticed was the carpet didn't look like it had been vacuumed all month. Debris everywhere. Carpet is fraying and the fixtures that hold the glasses are filthy-dusty and falling apart at the top. Thank goodness the purpose of my visit wasn't for myself but for my MIL. The gal who helped us took awhile as if she didnt know what she was doing. Turns out, after we picked up the glasses a week later she ordered them with a tint on them even though we told her NOT to. So there goes another 2 weeks wait. As we go to pick up them again they hand us this paper bag with my MIL glasses. No eye glass case. Just tossed in a bag. We do not recommend. Sometimes the service outweighs the visual eye sore but this place was horrible. I woulndt give it one star but I have to in order to post a review. read more

I got my daughters eyes checked a few weeks ago from another Stanton Optical but they were closing for the evening. I came to this Stanton Optical to get her current glasses fixed but instead I was able to still take advantage of their BOGO deal with taking the amount of the exam off of the price. The staff was extremely friendly and helpful. Now my daughter is headache free and says she has never been able to see so clearly. Thank you to Stanton Optical and the outstanding staff... I went to Stanton Optical about 2 weeks ago and I had a wonderful experience. Had a free eye exam and walked out the door with 2 pairs of glasses for 59.99. The downside would be they don't offer alot of "value" glass frames like the promotion says. You have to look through all the glass frames to find the value ones. I did have a wonderful sales manager named Alicia and she was wonderful and went above and beyond. She helped when I asked and showed me where exactly the glass frames were. She was very bubbly and helpful. Also they didn't have my lense prescription in stock. I had to come back 2 weeks later but that's the typical wait time for glasses. I can now see and love my glasses. Thank you Alicia and Stanton Optical for making my experience as pleasant as possible. read more

WORST STORE EVER - Do not go here. Misleading prices 2 glasses for 78 dollars hahaha you won't be able to walk out the door paying under 250. I was told I had full coverage for 2 years as well to replace any damages. I went the other day and said they changed policy and it would cost 20% of the frames cost to fix. Also don't go unless you have at least 2 hours . The customer service is the worst I have ever seen I was told I will be with you shortly about 10 times from several employees. Stanton optical is a great company! I have been to every location in Sacramento and this one BY FAR has the best customer service. Dan the general manager is not only an awesome guy but very helpful in making sure my glasses met all my blind-person requirements. I previously went to the Arden location and had such a frustrating experience that I almost lost doubt in this company. Dan and his staff restored my faith in this company that is so completely convenient for someone who wants stylish glasses as well as easy eye exams. This location is great because of Dan and his team being not only knowledgable but also just being fun helpful and great people. I have been going to stanton optical for years and both Roseville (newer staff) and Arden neither had good customer service or weren't knowledgable whatsoever that I walked out of Arden with messed up glasses and no contacts. Dan helped me purchase the right lenses for my glasses after being mislead by the other store. GREAT LOCATION. GREAT COMPANY. GREAT FRAMES, LENSES AND CONTACTS! 6 weeks ago my wife had an eye exam and ordered two pair of glasses from Stanton. Right away there were problems. It seems the computer program used to order glasses was not working properly and the technician couldn't finish the order at the time. We were told it would be corrected and she would finish the input then. Fair enough. Stuff happens. The glasses arrived Stanton adjusted the glasses for my wife and all seemed well. However, a few days later she said she was having a hard time seeing through them and went back to her old glasses. We took them in and after some checking we were told that the lab had made them incorrectly and had placed the correction area too high. (They were progressives.) We left them to be redone. Three weeks went by and when we hadn't heard from them she called to ask the status. The person who answered said they couldn't talk then and that they would call her back. Two days later we still hadn't received a call back. My wife called again. Same results. I called and was told that the lady had a customer in front of her and said she would call me back. This was understandable and good customer service: serve the person who is there first. However, I never received a return call. My wife stopped by and the glasses were finally ready. She brought them home last night and they seem fine.....so far. I am having cataract surgery now and planned to get an new glasses I may need from Stanton. I'll be looking for another vendor now. While Stanton's prices are good their customer service leaves a lot to be desired. The frustration wasn't worth the cost savings. Dan A. read more

I went here because Costco doesn't accept VSP insurance any longer and I needed glasses for my oldest. I asked three times if I could really get glasses and exam for 59$ and they said yes. At check out we selected two budget frames and we're told for her lenses it would be a total of 427$. They did bring it down to my budget but we couldn't get the glare guard and other normally free stuff. I won't go back. read more
