She went above and beyond to make sure my two teens/pre-teen had the glasses they needed/wanted. Stanton always runs great deals, but customer service has at times been lacking. I was extremely disappointed with the way everything was handled. When I walked in I'm told to go to a white desk and points okay I figured it out it's in the back. The only person who was friendly was the girl who checked me in. When I went into the pre exam the woman Maddie was not kind or helpful. She explained nothing about the tests and when I was having to retake the exams 4 or 5 times because she was on her phone scrolling social media which I watched with my eyes. From the time my pre exams started to the end she was on that phone and she seemed extremely frustrated with me but I continued to ask questions because my eyesight is extremely important to me! Then come to find out it's not even the "doctor" who does the actual lenses exam it's the Maddie woman. During the lenses exams she was flying through them and everytime I would ask for a redo on the 1and 2 she would sigh heavily again. She made me feel very uncomfortable to ask anything and she didn't tell me a thing about my eyes. I don't understand no one even looked at my eyes but apparently I have all these expensive recommendations with no explanation so I'm very afraid that the lenses aren't correct for my vision! I'll never be back to this location as I feel the "doctor" guy in white coat who kisses certain customers on the cheeks and skips me to handle "high profile " customers who were behind me in line do not deserve my money. I've never been to a more unprofessional unpleasant eye place in my life. I only have it 2 stars because of the first woman who checked me in she was very kind very friendly. My copay was only supposed to be $25 but the guy in the white coat said because I was going online to buy my glasses (I was not giving this place anymore of my money) that I had to pay $79 and he went over to the wall picked out one yellow sticker glasses and one blue sticker glasses when the wall states "2 pair of glasses for $79 blue tag" so I am confused why he chose a yellow sticker and then made ME pay for that. I told him to donate the 2 pairs to the elderly or to children and I feel he took advantage of my kindness. I spoke with my insurance and I was ONLY supposed to pay $25 so again just another untrustworthy reason not to return. I have never left a review but the experience I had on 7-18-26 was awful and truly disappointing experience especially dealing with something as important as eyesight. read more

I honestly don't even know where to start. My experience with Maleah was beyond frustrating. Edith was amazing tho. I got glasses from here the same day. After the drive home I couldn't see clearly out of my right eye. I came back next day and waiting over 45 minutes i finally got to talk to Maleah about it, and instead of checking the prescription or making sure the lenses were correct, she brushed it off and told me that I just needed time to adjust. The problem with that excuse is my prescription DIDN'T EVEN CHANGE, so there was nothing to "adjust" to. Why didn't the guy in the beginning tell me like she did, they won't check your eyes for another week, keep in mind I asked to check the lens not my eyes. On top of that, I was charged more than what I was originally told online and in person. The prices I was quoted didn't match what I ended up paying, which only added to the frustration. $50 extra. The whole experience left me feeling like my concerns didn't matter. When a customer says they can't see out of their new glasses, the last thing they should be told is to just give it time without anyone even verifying that the prescription is correct. No one greeted us. The medical info entry was glitchy and said my dates were not actual dates so I was forced to lie. The exam was a joke with a telehealth doctor, a dirty mirror, dirty screen, dirty equipment, and a broken chair. Their selection of frames was terrible. They weren't priced, but had color codes instead (I'm colorblind) and they were sold out of affordable frames. Instead of same day service we were told closer to a week. We were advertised exams and glasses for under $100 each, but spent over $500 for 3 of us. This might have been acceptable if any part of the experience was good. We will never return. read more

I've been to this Stanton optical for years and unfortunately feel like service has declined terribly. You don't meet with an actual eye doctor - that part is all virtual but it has been for a while. I went in with the intention to get glasses and contacts which is what I normally purchase, but was astonished by the price. No one explained the BOGO frames deal to me so I spent the majority of my wait shopping for a 2nd pair of glasses I had to put back. Base price for BOGO pair of glasses was $700+ not including any contacts because you still have to pay for the lenses on the 2nd pair. I ended up getting one pair of glasses for nearly $400 just to get out of this old pair. I understand that they're short staffed but you can tell they don't want to be there either. I went as a walk in and ended up being there from 1:30-3:50 that day with a toddler in tow. I definitely wish they would've told me that they were busy and I would've just come back another time. read more

This place does not have an Eye Doctor! About a week ago I called Stanton Optical in Amarillo. I explained that I need a complete eye exam as I haven't had one in years and I now have floaters in one eye, plus I need new glasses. I was given an appointment for this. I arrived a few minutes early for my appointment yesterday. The worker who met me as I came in the door asked what I was there for. I told her my name and said I had an appointment for a complete eye exam, due to floaters in my eye and needing new glasses. In a rude tone of voice she told me that they do not have an eye doctor there, and that I should go to either Eyemart Express or to Walmart, where they have an optometrist that can dilate and exam my eyes. I live over 100 miles away in a small New Mexico town. I drove all that way for nothing! read more

I called and they weren't ready I waited until November 25th to finally get my glasses. they gave me some glasses in the meantime but those broke like 3 times. I asked for a call back so I can get a refund but they wouldn't call back and when I would go up there they said the manager wasn't there. I had an eye exam on April 26th and was told 7-10 day turnaround....not business days, because I asked. After calling on the 7th day just to see if there was a pickup date, the automated system told me May 10. When I did not get a phone call on the 10th, I called on the 11th only to get a representative from a call center telling me that it should be the 17th, but could not tell me why there is such a delay. I am starting a new job and intentionally did this process early so I could have new glasses and it is not going to happen. Will not return after this experience. read more

Came into this location as I was passing through and needed help with some contact lenses that were given to me in my home town a couple of days ago. (same company) The girl that was at the Amarillo TX location was extremely rude and was giving every excuse in the book to not help. I was even willing to pay for another set of contact lenses. This was an amazing experience! It's cheap too! $150 for contacts and glasses prescription. $100 if you do their glasses deal. You can get two of their cheaper glasses for 79$ with that deal. They also have a buy one get one free deal for glasses that are $100 and up. I don't know why people are mad? They picked expensive glasses when it's clearly marked how much you will need to pay for the nicer glasses. Be mad at yourself for having expensive taste and not looking at the price tag. They have glasses in everyone's pay range. I loved my virtual doctor. She did amazing on both my husband and I. We will definitely go back. well over 90 min behind on our appointment. they lost our insurance card. then was told 7-10 days for our glasses. we get a text saying it's ready and show up. they don't have them. said the box was scanned and sends that text. come back tomorrow but call first. They really rush on exams and refuse to honor company policy. Here is my story: 1) get my eyes examined with a lady on a Skype television who's accent is super hard to understand. 2) I pick up my pick up my glasses and immediately see something is wrong. I decide to try them for a day. They have 2 different perscription in each eye. 3) I bring the glasses back, they tell me the glass isn't cut right in one eye, they keep the glasses and I pick them up the next day. After reaching out to them yet again and saying that the recut didn't help and it still wrong they schedule me to come in again 4) they re-examine with an in house person. - she was rushing, and didn't seem to want to take her time. She asked leading questions like " is it better? how much better? Is it a big difference ?" But only on one eye. My perscription ended up changing so much from the first exam 5) I pick up the frames, it's better, but I feel a difference between each eye. I tried the glasses for a few days. I take them back and tell them, they decide (again) that it was cut wrong and I wait while they cut the glasses again. 6) I still am not convinced that it's right, they offer to re-examine me yet again. -Same lady as the second time. They examine just one eye, They have marks on my glasses from measuring how they were cut and leave the marker on there while I get examined again. She's holding up dirty lenses to see what I think to my original dirty glasses. She said that it "could" be normal that I'm seeing different in each eye. She is rushing again, and seems bothered that I want to clean the marker off my glasses for the exam. She says, you're ready 20-20 with both eyes, and why would I need the same perscription in my right eye as the left. She said she didn't want to tell me what to do, but that it's too strong, so I tell her the (left) weaker eye is fine and I can see, so lower the right eye to match the left. She refused to change the other eye. She said if it will make you happy to get both eyes the same perscription then I'll change it. I was very uncomfortable throughout the whole process. (Keep in mind my eyes are exactly the same!!!) ((why is there two different perscription anyways?!?))) 7) I get my new updated glasses. They are VERY strong, (like she and I had both said that It was). I look at the perscription and realize it's 3X stronger than my script actually is. Both eyes are the same though. 8) I decide to go back and ask for a refund as I am not happy with the perscription still and my frames were also pulling my hair out as well. The girl at the front says. "No I won't give you a refund" I said I'm not asking for a refund of the exam or even the use of my insurance, I simply do not want these glasses" I straight up told her that I am NOT satisfied at all with them. ( I was going to bite the bottle and pay for an exam / frames out of pocket elsewhere) "She said you see 20-20 out of each eye, there is no reason why I should refund you." And I said "it's about the frames I don't like the frames" and I referred to the sign that says if you are not happy that Stanton Optical will restyle or refund. She said that a restyle would be possible but NO refund. Her reasoning is that the glasses have to do with the perscription and my script is fine. Again I said I'm not satisfied and that the sign clearly says that I can be refunded. She refused, so I left and called the number that the sign had. I ended up getting a refund of my insurance and frames as well, and guess who had to process that when I went back into the store the same girl that told me no the first time. After spending an hour in the store doing my eye exam, I was very disappointed. Found the perfect frames and was ready to order my new glasses. The technician happened to lay down my prescription in front of me and as I looked over it I realized that they had my prescription showing at lot less than what I currently have. When i asked the technician how was it possible that my eyes improved when my major complaint is that my current glasses are not strong enough. All he could offer was that they redo my exam. That wasn't going to happen! Waste another hour of my life I cant get back. The real warning I should have listened to was a gentleman walked in at the same time as us and was demanding his $500 plus for having to wait over 3 weeks to get his glasses and they still were not there as of last Friday. The way the staff handled the man started out good until sitting on the side lines you realize that they continually shoveled him around to each employee until they finally felt he was satisfied. Not sure if he really was satisfied or tired of the run around. I don't blame the technicians or the store employees, I blame the owner that isn't providing proper training and hiring young kids to run the store. The young lady at the front has been there since the 1st day as she has watched many others come and go. It has been over 2 weeks now and I STILL haven't gotten the second pair of glasses yet and instead of $79, it cost me over 800 dollars. Part of that cost was for transition lenses, but the lenses barely darken at all in direct sunlight. Traveling through Amarillo and was having trouble with my frames on the way to vacation. Unfortunately the frames I had were discontinued tough still under warranty. The ladies there got my lenses into a new set of frames for a decent price and ordered a new set under my warranty to be shipped to my home! This is a good deal and impeccable service!!! I walked in and was greeted immediately with a smile. I did need a new prescription and was put on a list ASAP, was seen within 10 minutes. So a little on how this place operates, you get your appointment, it is all done remotely... the doctor isn't in the room with you but literally operates via inter-web. You get out and pay $45. If you purchase glasses you get that $45 as a credit toward the final cost of frames and lenses. The bargain frames must be ordered and it takes around a week to get them. I didn't get bargain frames but I did get buy one get one free on frames. You then pay for lenses, anywhere from $99 to $199 depending on your script. If you wear glasses you know this normal. Scratch resistant extra $$.... and so on. This is where it gets good!!! You can pay $25 and for the next two years you get four frames, at the same cost of your most expensive frame, for FREE!!! You only pay for the lenses. Now I have only one complaint, their frames are mostly in-house brands.... not so many name brand. I am not too snooty when it comes to that but for the price of some of the frames they should be. I was really impressed with the service and glasses I picked. They also makes lenses in-house and they are generally done that day. Highly recommended!!!! Will go back for more!!! read more

After a few quick email exchanges asking for my contact details and availability, which I responded to promptly, I've apparently hit the wall with their automated system or something. This store needs a serious cleaning! It's a beautiful place but you can tell that it has never been cleaned! When I went to get glasses I noticed the floor needed to be vacuumed bad and the glasses that you try on has fingerprints all over the glasses! Also there was dust all over the bottom of the counter tops! You would write your name in the dust that's how thick it was! With Covid going on you would think it would be spotless and clean, but it's anything but that! My glasses took almost 3 weeks to get and the same piece of trash was still in the corner! The ladies bathroom was horrible!Covid could spread easily here without any sanitizing being done! So gross!! Also, you can't call the store directly they send you to someone in Central America is what I was told! No one knows what's going on because you can't call the store directly and the person you do talk to doesn't notify the store!! If I could I would give this store a negative star!! Will never go back. I made an appointment for my elderly mom 2 weeks ago. When we get there the entrance was impassable to her. Snow and ice. She walks with a walker. They couldn't even clear a small path. So we rescheduled the appointment for today. She was in the exam room 2 minutes. Apparently she had some glaucoma and needed to see the dr. I thought that's why we were there. Oh no! The dr was on vacation. It's very difficult for my mom to get out and both times we were there she didn't even get to see a doctor. This operation is horrible. I just moved to Florida full time and these guys advertise heavily. I can now see why because word of mouth would put them out of business. So two weeks ago I picked up new eyeglasses and had new lenses installed in a one year old frame. So today I went to wear the set with the new lenses. When I opened the box the screw that holds the lense in place was broken. I returned to the store on Northlake and was greeted by Lee. He looked quickly and said sorry frame was out of warranty. I explained the frame did not fail but the assembly with the new screw failed. He told me to go to Jeweler to get screw removed. Seriously? So I walked to workstation found pliers and removed the broken screw myself. Can't make this up. Just spent 600 and was blown off by ineptness. Stay away they are really bad. read more

I bought glasses at the Amarillo store. I was told it would take 2 weeks. Then 2 weeks later the glasses came in and the lens fell out of the frames and wouldn't stay in and the sunglasses were not tinted properly. They were sent back to be replaced and said another 2 weeks. After 2 weeks still not in and said another week. Talked with customer service and were rude and said they could have someone call me in 3 days or go some where else. I have never had to wait any where at least 5 weeks to get glasses. Very Poor service and would never recommend to anyone. Very poor management and I would think twice before getting glasses with Stanton Optical. I was also told they were in network and that was a lie. Don't stop here because you will not get quality glasses if you ever see them. read more

Went in to Stanton Optical Wednesday for a walk in appt- was told none availabke. The store was extremely busy. I was greeted at door by a sweet lady Modesta. She was with a customer and asked the customer for a moment to speak to me. She then explained to me about sales in the store. As she was helping me, the customer she was with, and continuing to greet and direct others walking in poor lady had to even answer the phone as other staff (not distinguishable- mo e had nametag o or white coat) was ignoring it. I was extremely impressed by her and assumed she was manager.
