My experience at Stanton Optical was the worst I have ever, EVER had. Tried to rip me off by charging an ungodly amount ($800+). When I questioned this and then actually added up the numbers myself in front of the salesperson, the price came out to a full $300 less than that, and they had no explanation for the huge discrepancy. Then I waited for literally four hours for them just to process my purchase, and then had to come back for ANOTHER hour and a half later in the day because they hadn't finished on time. When I finally got my prescription sunglasses, they had messed up my sunglasses lenses with huge blotches in the tint. Also, they got my prescription wrong, and refused to acknowledge or correct it. I"m wearing my Stanton glasses right now and the entire right eye is fuzzy. A truly AWFUL place. Complete incompetence, across the board, from the optometrist to the sales people. DO NOT GO HERE!!!! Also, during my god-awful experience, I encountered/heard at least three other customers with similar complaints. read more

If I could give no stars I would!! This place and its management is a joke. HORRIBLE SERVICE!! It took 2 months to get contacts and the only reason I got them is because I finally went down there after getting the run around on the phone. Avoid this place, take your service and money elsewhere. read more

This was the most unprofessional visit I've ever had to date. I've used competitors in the past , so I knew what to expect as far as hidden charges. The unfriendly unhelpful staff did not make a friendly environment to visit at all. Maybe because it was close to end of shift. When we were checking out, it was the first time anyone not in the exam office spoke to us. I was not shown any options I asked about the fee of the exam being discounted but I was cut off and told oh I gave you a much better deal. I was not explained pricing I was told how much my daughter's glasses would be and then moved on to my two pairs. I spent a significant amount by the time we left. It was the unprofessional visit that bothered me. My daughter and I are rocking our cool trendy new glasses. I chose very noticeable frames and work at a very busy salon, where I come into contact with a large amount of the community. As a hairstylist I try to stay trendy, so of course I get compliments on my frames. Sadly I do not recommend this business location. Hidden charges excessive , with no breakdown quote or receipt until you agree to cost. Unfriendly unprofessional staff. read more

I booked an eye exam online. Imagine my surprise when it said they had eye exams available on Sunday!! I received my confirmation and went into the store as scheduled. When I relayed to the staff that I had an eye appointment they said there was no doctor in office. They offered no empathy, no recommendation to set-up an appointment when the doctor was in, nothing. I pulled up my confirmation and verified it was the right location. Again, no apologize but just stated they didn't know why the website let me book the appointment. Well I don't know either. It's not my website. If you're going to be in customer service, please learn the basics of customer service. There are too many competitors out there not to. read more

We have not had one person from Stanton Optical say they were sorry about not being able to do our glasses right. We have been there THREE TIMES and the glasses were not done right. They really expect us to go in the FOURTH TIME! We will keep telling people not to use this company. We are also filing a report with the Attorney General's Office. DON'T USE THIS COMPANY! read more

The staff were friendly and helpful. That was the only positive. Unfortunately, the so-called deal is a bit of a bait and switch. They offer a free eye exam and two pairs of frames for $69.00. The problem is that the lenses are NOT included in the deal. You get to pick from about 6 or so frames, and then they ask what features you want on your lenses (transitions, scratch-resistant, sunglass tint, etc.), which add to the cost of the lenses. My wife and I spent nearly $800 on four pairs of glasses (granted, one pair was sunglasses). My glasses got something on them I couldn't remove with a cloth, and they got scratched when I tried to remove it, and I was charged $30 to have them repaired, plus one week for the service. If a business is going to overcharge me for their product, they should repair or replace them for free. I will not be doing any more business with Stanton Optical. read more

I find it interesting to note that all the negative reviews have been removed from here. There were tons of them. Do not patronize this business. I have had to file a complaint with the State Regulatory Commission and my vision insurance plan. I also plan on filing a complaint with the Albuquerque licensing bureau. It has been over 5 months since I was at this location and to this date I still do not have a written prescription. 3 different eye doctors - all incompetent. Could not get either my contact lens or glasses prescription correct. What have they done to correct this - nothing but empty promises. My husband ordered glasses -- paid over $300 and it took six weeks to get them. Their excuse was the coating factory. He gets them and they were useless - actually made him sick because the eye doctors are incompetent. Then he waited another 4 weeks for another pair of glasses. DO NOT PATRONIZE THIS COMPANY. They are bad for your health! read more

Thursday 9/11 I received the call that my trial lenses were in. 9/12 9am I picked them up and asked if I can do follow up exam right away to expedite the process. Was told to come back after 9:30 am. Went back at 1:45 and was told the there is an available slot 2:15. No problem. Saw the doctor and explained how the contacts worked for me. The doctor changed the script and ordered another set of trials to test. I do believe that they are trying to make this right so I jumped them up a star. read more

Almost 2 months now and still do not have the second pair of glasses. The Manager, who is about results per his words supposedly reordered them over two weeks ago! Geez how hard is it??? I have paid and not received them. W The. I have been very patient but I am done. One more week and this Granny will be picketing in front of their store!!!!!!!!!!! Update , finally after 2 months 4/08/16 I finally received my second pair of glasses. Went into the store and the Manager told me this was JUST brought to his attention. Buloney! 2 and 1/2 weeks before he told me in person he was 'all about solutions' and would reorder them because he wasn't sure what happened. This guy is SOOOOOO full of it. Lame. This place is unprofessional and chaotic. You make an appointment with them, but when you get there there are 10 other people waiting to see the optometrist. You'll be waiting hours. If you're thinking of going here, skip it and treat yourself to Freddie's next door. read more

I went into Stanton on Jan 4, 2016. I ordered 2 pairs of glasses, one were progressives and the other were sunglasses. I was told there would be a 14 day wait on the progressives. I understood that. I waited 14 days and then called. I was told 14 business days and not to call back, they would call me. I waited exactly 14 business days and called back.. I had to wait another 2 days. I finally went in to get my glasses, I was told my sunglasses wouldn't be ready for 2 more days. Those days came and went.. I waited a week then I went in and asked what was taking so long. I was told the reflective coating was holding it up. I just told them to refund me the cost. Of course because of their BOGO I paid $110 for the 2nd pair.. I am now heading to LensCrafters to order sun glasses! read more

First of all, the "specials" they offer aren't so special, the cost of the glasses I purchased FAR exceeded $69 dollars for two pairs, a bait-and-switch tactic that relies on them getting you so deep into the purchasing experience that backing out when you realize the true cost is difficult at best. The sales girl was nice enough, but the entire time we were in the store we had to listen to the manager schooling new employees in their hard line psychological warfare sales tactics. I was of course hoping to purchase glasses at their advertised price, so I was willing to put up with it until it was too late and I was in the stock chute. The glasses are horrible. I bought computer glasses for more than DOUBLE the advertised price and looking through them is like looking through oily water. The effect is so distracting that I can't use them at all. When I contacted customer service through e-mail (I can only imagine the joy involved in speaking to the store employees directly about being unhappy with your purchase), I received this response: "Unfortunately, if the glasses are made to your RX and are within ANSI Guidelines, we would not be able to refund you on a medical device that has already been made for you, per your request." The person then told me to go into the store to "resolve this matter," something I am unwilling to do given how aggressively they pursue their sales encounters. I will avoid them in the future since they are more concerned with milking you for money and seeing you out the door than they are conducting honest business practices and attending to with respect. Fortunately we have public forums available to counteract being dismissed by companies who follow dishonest and exploitative business models. read more

Very unprofessional, They don't charge by the cent for extras, they charge you by the dollar.

I went in for the $69 special and at first was upset because the selection of frames was horrible. The manager Manny Molina then approached me and was excellent at taking care of the problem. He allowed me to pick other frames and still gave me the special and was extra accommodating. I really feel he cared about making me feel good about the experience. I will recommend the Corrales road location to everyone I know who needs glasses or contacts. read more

When you go here for an eye exam, the eye exam isn't even performed by a real person there in the room with you. Rather the exam is performed with some sort of video uplink. Please do not spend your money here! The doctors always cancels and their staff are unprofessional. I was given a prescription that was not finalized. Spent a lot of money for this prescription to not be vaild. When I complained, they did not bother to fix it. Their solution was having me pay for another appointment and for me to make sure the prescription was finalized. read more

My review is from a different standpoint. We do service for both of the Stanton Optical locations in Albuquerque and every time we go out (per their request) it is almost impossible to receive payment from them. No amount of calling or sending late notices work. We have now had to turn them over to our collection agency and needless to say, we will not be working with them any longer. read more

This was my first time going to Stanton Optical, but I had great customer service while I was there even though they were very busy, one of their machines kept giving them issues, and they did not have an onsite doctor they completed everything they had to do. Kelly in the eyeglass department was amazing she helped me get my glasses ready that same day within 30 minutes, because I came from out of town, was very patient with me, and she really worked her magic with making the whole experience very affordable for me!! So, thank you Kelly for making my day!! read more

Staton off Corrales did a great job great customer care I guess the deal 2 for 69 with a free exam is not exactly what we think it is so exam right well I was gonna take my prescription and go but Maria helped so much she told the supervisor on duty the issue and he credit me back and made sure it was only 69. The only thing bad was Gina was very rude didn't want to help so Maria offered to help great customer care love Maria keep her there. read more

Great Eye Doctor, Staff and overall experience! This was my first time stepping into Stanton Optical. I was quickly set up with an eye exam,(eye exam fee transfers as credit if you make an eye wear purchase). The eye doctor was very knowledgeable and great. He made sure that I understood the results of my eye exam and was able to answer all of my questions. After paying for my exam and being informed that if I decided to make a purchase, the exam fee would be applied to my purchase, I decided to see what was available in the eye glasses section. I was introduced to Miranda, who was amazing!! She broke down all options and helped me pick the best, for my situation. I will definitely be back! read more

First time here. The Dr was very nice (thank you!) Meanwhile the other girls weren't very nice. Customer service care needs to shape up.

I paid more than $600 for a pair of $99 glasses. They charged for everything, up selling like a street corner hooker. Next time, I went to Costco and got higher quality , more options, better service. Will never go back here. read more

At Stanton optical I made the appointment for a cataract update. The person answering the phone was at a different location possibly a call center. I showed up for my appointment on time. I had been to this location several times in the past for the same check up. I was inform that the eye exam would be done remotely. The doctor would not be in the room with you. After a discussion with the employee, I found out the exam for the cataracts can not be done at this location at this time. They will not have a doctor there until June 14th. My time was wasted. I asked why, when I made the appointment I was not informed. The location employee stated the employees who make the appointments do not know which locations have doctor's present. What a screwed up system? read more

Beckey Over priced. There was no eye doctor on duty so I would say I received a mechanical eye check and no eye exam. I am very disappointed. read more

I wish I would have been smart and checked this place out. They have horrible reviews at BBB which they are not a member. That should have been my first clue, they don't want to be. They operate as a bait and switch, they determined I needed progressive lenses and after 480.00 later I got them and put them on in the store after waiting a week and they made me sick immediately. This was their decision not mine, I just wanted to see better. So they made bifocals which are $20.00 a lens cheaper, I asked for a refund and they said no.. So what they do is sell the highest price and if you end up with less that is your problem. The bifocals I got have the wrong prescription I want to take them back but they don't care if I write bad reviews, turn them over to BBB etc because this chain works on profit, not customer service. So, here I am with the wrong prescriptions, glasses that make me nauseous and I'm still waiting for them to fix the 2nd pair, which took them 3 times so far to get right. They are ready today, so we'll see how they work out for me. If you are smart, you better have all your questions up front, pricing up front, service up front, guarantees up front before you walk in there. Once they got you, they got you. Too bad they are so awful, obvious corporate, not locally owned and operated. Think they need to rethink and re-do their policies and make their customers happier. read more

I went in all proud I was getting a deal... I got my eye exam by Skype, then the lady tried over charging me I corrected her and she fixed it... But now it's been 2 months and I haven't received my glasses... I went there today, hoping to get a pair of vintage glasses repaired (lens was out...needed new screw to hold frame together). They were very gracious..fixed the frame, replaced the nose pads, and even cleaned the lenses...And would not take any payment! How often does THAT happen??? I'll need some new glasses in the next year.....I think I know where I'll be going. read more

If I could give less stars I would. After they tried to make the eyeglasses for the 3rd time using their perscription I gave up. It's been 3 weeks and I'm STILL trying to get my money refunded. By the way, they will NOT refund the exam because services were rendered, even though I had to have the exam redone elsewhere to get an accurate read. Save yourself the nightmare and go somewhere, anywhere, else. It has to be better. read more

Very nice place - great selection, prices and customer service. The optical techs Alyssa and Eujorie were terrific - everyone made us feel welcome and cared for. And I left with 2 pairs of great glasses without breaking the bank. They even helped me fill out paperwork for insurance reimbursement - the items they gave me were easy to submit with no issues. Stanton Optical is far above the other stores in town when it comes to customer service and value. Exceptional...we will be back and we highly encourage others to visit. I went to the Optical store yesterday and I was very impressed how friendly the staff was. I was greeted by Laura who worked with me for quite awhile to figure out the best choice for my prescription. I never wore official glasses before and I had to choose between bifocals and sunglasses. She was extremely patient and gracious through the whole thing. She explained everything in detail (which took awhile), only because I am a novice with all this terminology. I felt like she was an old friend. She also brought Ryan over to help several times and he was just as friendly and courteous as he took his time to offer his help also. I would highly recommend this new business. I went to three other places prior(the day before), and they simply did not measure up to the standard that Stanton Optical had provided to me. If your looking for outstanding customer service and a great pair of glasses, do not hesitate to go there. You will not be disappointed!!! AAAAAAAAAAAA++++++++++ read more

Awesome customer service. Awesome products! Would recommend Stanton for all your eye wear needs.

Staff is awesome got a great deal on two pair of glasses so far so good. I would definitely recommend them they have a great selection on glasses and not inpatient or bitchey about the whole process. I went to Costco and the lady who waited on me here at the west side was rude and intimidating so I just walked out, and eye art express advertises two for 69 but when you use your insurance and who knows what it isn't 2 for 69. Stanton has free eye exam and the atmosphere, staff variety of eye ware , highly recommended. G read more

We ordered 4 pair of glasses from Stanton they were all delayed, when they did come in they were in all the wrong frames. They all had to be sent back. One of the glasses were just jammed into the frame the wire that holds them in place was exposed with major gaps in them. When the glasses did come in the clerks could not find them. The lenses are not even placed right in the frames, I have bifocals. Never again, stay away. read more

I really wished I had read ALL THE NEGATIVE reviews as there are SO MANY, but I figured only upset clients leave messages..well here's another unhappy customer! This location is very nice when they are helping you with your glasses order, and then you are on your own! I didn't receive a call letting me know that the first pair was ready. Initially, they wrote my number wrong---I do understand how DIFFICULT THAT CAN BE-i then gave my number again, so when I picked up my first pair I was told I would definitely get a call next time...well..crickets again. Once again, I called and guess what-they were ready DAYS ago!! So, if you don't mind waiting in line for possibly an hour to pick up your order--they make you wait in line behind EVERYONE regardless of how long that could take, picking up the product you've paid for! Other places ask who is picking up glasses and get them out as quickly as possible. But, if you want to be treated with the respect we all deserve, you won't find it here! Needless to say, with all the competition in this field, I will NEVER go back to the Stanton on Corrales Rd. read more

WARNING..... This place has the worst customer service experience and unsafe covid 19 practices. My appointment was at 1pm I called a week prior to schedule said appointment and had to wait for two hours and 20 mins before I even got started. They are not friendly and if you do not ask they will not bother to tell you how long your wait is for your appointment. And when you ask they are very rude and they make you feel like you are asking for a huge favor and they have to go out of there way to help you. There is chemicals out but they are not labeled and they do not clean there machines thoroughly before you are asked to put your face on them. I did not notice this until I was done and waiting for my prescription. They do not where face coverings or gloves all the time either. Now on to that, it has been 6 weeks and I still do not have my order. I have gone in to check and they can not tell me when or if they are coming in, I was promised a call back and four days latter I still do not have an answer. One big problem my insurance has already paid this company and now my money is tied to a service that was far less than average and a order that is no where to be found.... Save you time and stress and do not use this place or services. read more

There should be a negative star for these guys. The glasses took 3 months to obtain. they charged for shipping an never shipped. Family had to pick up and went there 3 times to retrieve. When I finally got the glasses the frame in one pair was broken and the other pair's frame was not the size I chose and the visual area was a pin hole, (I paid extra for the option of wide lens prescription sculpting), and the reading area required tilting the head back and looking at the lower frame to even find the reading area pin hole. when found ... literally you could focus on 2 words and that is it. I took the broken frame in to replace and they replaced it with a wide (51 width: my original was 49 width frames). They took so long that my credit card company will not dispute and Stanton will not call or answer or address the problems. They say it is out of warranty now... they basically grifted me for $275.00 read more

I am very disappointed in the service I received at Stanton Optical on Corrales Road in Albuquerque, New Mexico. A doctor gave me a low quality and impersonal eye exam via video chat. Two weeks later, I picked up my glasses and immediately knew the prescription was wrong, however the technician insisted I wear them for a few days to "try to get used to them" and then return. I wore them home as instructed and returned the next day with my husband - as I was endangering myself by driving with the wrong prescription. I insisted upon another vision exam with a physical doctor present in the room; I was issued a new prescription with substantial changes from the first. A week later, I received a call to let me know my new glasses were in.  When I arrived at the store, I was presented with two lenses and no frames. I was informed they had lost the frames I'd purchased and was instructed to choose a new frame. To add to the inconvenience and my own disbelief, I was also told that if I chose a frame LESS than the original dollar amount, I would not be reimbursed for the difference. I was not able to find any frames that were the same price and asked for a refund. I was denied a refund and directed to speak to a manager on Monday. I was never contacted. Over a month has passed since my original eye exam and I still have not received the eyeglasses I paid for. Not only have I received poor quality and unprofessional service from Stanton Optical, I was instructed to wear glasses that were the wrong prescription. This was not only unhealthy for my vision, but upon operating my vehicle, a potential safety hazard. I do not recommend Stanton Optical to my family and friends, or anyone reading this review.  There are many affordable eye care options that offer good service and professional employees - Stanton Optical is not one of them. read more

I really wish that I could put NO STARS for this place. I have had the most horrible experience with Stanton Optical.
