Went to get a visón test with their optometrists and they were all so nice and answered all of my questions, this was my first time doing a vision test and everyone is so helpful. They were able to take my Presbyterian centennial insurance. We traveled 3hrs away and had our pup with us, and they were so nice to give her a treat while we waited :) thank you so much to everyone there As for the glasses area next door they were super packed so we waited for a little bit and unfortunately my insurance didn't cover lenses so we ended up going somewhere else, but they were really nice and there were so many glasses to choose from. read more

I LOVE the doctor at this site. I was treated very poorly at Eyemart Express on Holly when I thought I was having a medical emergency with my eye so came here instead .... I was treated with the utmost respect and care. I felt I was in the hands of a true experienced professional & just amazed at the compassion and care of the staff as well. I will never go elsewhere. It turns out I was experiencing an age related change ... gah! Even as an FNP myself I was frightened at my symptoms but immediately seen and put at ease. When I called I was told that I could get TWO pairs of progressive bifocals for $86. Most other places were charging $150 or MORE, so I jumped on it and traveled across town the next morning. Picked out frames that cost $30 more than the margin $19.95 frames (you get what you paid for and I was willing to "upgrade" to a better frame. So the optician takes my measurements and enters my prescription details into the computer. Right off I said I knew that it would be higher than the $86ish (didn't remember the "cents") I was quoted. So it should be around $116. She said that it was bit more... $189ish! "Of course", she said, "that includes the tax." I replied "that's still not right, unless the upgrade and the tax is over $100!" She asked me to consider a cheaper frame. I basically replied that the problem was the price of the lens. I had her forgo the progressive lens, and asked her to quote a price for lined bifocals. She came back with a price of $140. "Again, that's too high", I told her. Then I asked to see the price without the tax. It was $129! I said, "that is $10 higher than you told me!" She responded that there was a $10 surcharge on my lens because of how strong the prescription was. I told her that I was not happy (but that I was also tired of shopping for glasses, I'd spent over an hour searching out deals online and making phone calls.) She said she hears that all the time. She said, "when customers tell me that 'the lens will be easy (i.e. the price)', I always say, 'it's NEVER easy. There's always extra charges'". I told her that I'd pay it even though I was still not happy. She asked if this is going to be cash or credit. I responded, "Credit...... Unless that's an extra charge too." And yes there was a tone of sarcasm in my voice! She said, "That's the one thing we do right!" (when it comes to price). That being said I got two pairs of good quality eyeglasses. Not what I wanted (NOT progressives) for $20 less than the other stores' best price for PROGRESSIVE lens. In fairness, in this bait and switch era of eyewear, the advertised price is always a low ball figure. So I'd give them ONE star for the price and 4 or 5 stars for the glasses themselves. Make sure that you get the NAME of the person quoting you the price and go in armed. Make sure you give DETAILS about what you want AND your exact prescription. Hopefully that will be enough to get a better experience. read more

Don't know what has happened to this place, but the service is horrible! Went in yesterday with my husband and we were third in line to get new glasses. 4 people working the fitting floor and two behind the counter, so they weren't short staffed. We walked out an hour later having never been helped, with exactly one person ( who was there before we got there) being successfully helped. The staff would give sloths a good name. It was as if they were intentionally moving as slowly as possible. Sighing, yawning, interrupting each other to ask for help. It was beyond bad. read more

Amazing service. Friendly, knowledgeable staff. I went in yesterday to choose new frames. I was skeptical at first, because of COVID precautions and what not.... After signing in I was greeted by one of the staff, and I was told that she was to follow me during my optical shopping. I thought it was weird at first, but I felt that they were following best practices which I most definitely appreciated. She was great help, and didn't get upset after I tried on, literally 30 pairs of glasses. They had a great selection and I definitely recommend getting your prescription glasses here. read more

They are all inexperienced and the manager there treats the employees like shit. My grandma brought in her new prescription and they got the whole thing wrong. we had to take them back to the doctor next door to help us. They are clueless not sure even the lab knows what to do. I AM NOT HAPPY! The front desk employee Jennifer was rude and unprofessional. When I picked up the new glasses, I asked if someone would check to make the prescription was correct. SHE snapped "NO"! and I wasnt even offered the cleaning lotion that goes with the glasses. After an hour of wearing the new glasses, i got a headache from the frames being too tight and had to go back to my old glasses till I can get back to the store. There is a reason they are busy every time I've been there: friendly staff, excellent prices, and quality work. Just as my warranty expired, Eyemart Express honored it and replaced my lenses, which were damaged by a very deep scratch somehow left by the TSA.. go figure. I was in need of eye glasses due to the fact I had just broken the frame on mine. At the first store (no names) I found a frame I really liked and asked if they would hold them until the end of the day, they did but were not very pleasant. I then drove to Eyemart Express on Carlisle where I was pleasantly greeted and Phillip offered to assist me in finding that perfect frame. Well didn't take long and there they were. I then had to make a decision, that was easy my business went to Eyemart Express because of the way I was treated. I am going back for a pair of prescription sunglasses and am really excited. In my experience Eyemart Express on Carlisle is the place to go when looking for eye glass frames. They have a good selection, very helpful people, hours are convenient and they get your glasses to you quickly. I have been using eye glass mart for years. I've gotten my son's glasses there also. From just a set of glasses at night when I took my glasses off to now having to wear them full time. The customer service has always been ok to good but this year was different. Danny was the young man who helped me was very insightful he knew all if the mechanics and his recommendations were very helpful. He noticed a difference in my prescription and told me how to go about getting my glasses fixed within eye parts policy. I did need to get the prescription changed and his help has been invaluable. He has already helped other members of my family and I would recommend him anyone who is getting a new pair of glasses. read more

This place is very unprofessional. Went to get glasses and my lenses were completely popping out of the frame. The lady that helped us didn't even explain to us in regards to the lenses not fitting the frame. My prescription Is not stong, for them to pop out like that. When I put them on it was completely the wrong prescription. When I explained this to her, she left and came back with different lenses and said she wanted to try something else. This place is horrible. They contacted me yesterday let me know that I had a box of contacts that I had forgot I ordered . There voicemail stated that if I didn't pick them up by the 25th that I would be a pay only status . I payed for the contact a ahead of time . I payed for the service ahead of time . A simple saying that I have them there it would have been fine don't threaten me . The girls in there where nothing but condescending and rude. I can't recommend Eyemart Express highly enough. For what I would have paid for one pair of glasses at my doctor's office (and would have to wait for), I got TWO pairs, one of them sunglasses, the other one with anti-glare coating, all done in an hour. They have a one year warranty on the frames and lenses. The staff was very friendly and patient, and my glasses were ready exactly when promised. They can get a little crowded, but you can browse while you wait and there's plenty of chairs to sit in. If you need to collect on your warranty, you can go to any Eyemart Express in the country (convenient for a military family like us). I was very pleased with my whole experience. read more

Ridiculous service. Total bait and switch. I went to EyeMart off Carlisle because they had a promotion for Buy One Get One Free if you use insurance. I checked their website for accepted insurance. VSP was listed. When I walked in, I should have known I was in for it...The lobby was busy. I waited over a half hour to be seen. As I waited, I listened to the conversations around me. They are a HARD sell. Many of the people in there were senior citizens who are likely on a fixed income. I listened in as the salespeople tried to nickel and dime them to death. I also checked out the frames. They are CHEAP CHEAP CHEAP. The reminded me of the sunglass frames at Dollar General or Walmart. I did find two pairs that were acceptable at $99.95 each. I felt that was a deal, since I was getting one pair FREE. When I sat down, I gave the saleswoman my personal information so she could get insurance authorization. First problem....She tells me that the BOGO is only for the $19.95 frames and basic plastic lenses. (So, the ugly bin). She then stepped to the back for verify insurance and came back to tell me that my allowance for a frame was $40....(It's actually $125 with VSP). That the polycarbonate lenses with antiglare are $98 (Should be $40-$60). Anti-scratch, another $29.95 (no clue what it should be. I always get Crizal lens treatment since it does all of the above). I attempted to show her my benefits summary. She explained that they are OUT OF NETWORK for VSP!!!!!!!!!!! I ALMOST stayed and paid out of pocket since I have a few hundred dollars in my FSA that I need to use by the end of the year. Unfortunately, she was such a sarcastic, unapologetic little twit. Called ahead to confirm that they were in my insurance network - was informed that they were. I checked their website and VSP was listed as an accepted insurance. When I went in, not once did the lady helping me tell me that they were in fact NOT in the VSP network. After telling me how much the total was, I was shocked by the out of pocket expense and had to change my order to cheaper frames and single distance lenses (instead of the progressive lenses I was supposed to get). I later confirmed that the prices given to me were out of network. I called and explained the mistake and was informed that there was nothing they could do. She then explained to me that their prices are so cheap that it would be the same out of pocket expense paid had I gone to a store that is within my insurance network. BS! This place is a ripoff and neither myself nor my family will ever go here again. read more

I went to the Carlisle store in Albuquerque. They have an excellent selection of frames from inexpensive to "Oh my Gawd". Friendly, quick service. I'm 66 years old and this was the first time in my life that I got a new pair of glasses that fit me perfectly from the start, no fiddling around on my part with the ear pieces to make 'em fit better. I've been to this location a few times, and I continue coming back based on the prices alone. They have the best prices on prescription glasses hands-down. So you may be asking "what's up with the two stars?" Well, every single time I've gone; I've had to wait close to an hour just to meet with an associate to pick out my frames! Followed by another hour wait when I return to pick up the glasses! Just a word of advice: do not go on the weekends because the amount of customers is ridiculous. If you have a flexible schedule, I recommend going during the week. The wait times are far less. Other than that, I'll repeat myself, the prices are basically unbeatable! read more

The only reason I'm giving them two stars instead of one is because my first two visits were quite pleasant. On my third visit I came during lunch hours and it was quite busy. I signed in for a pickup as they requested. What I needed would only take a few minutes of time, but I respected their system of organization during busy hours. I have no idea what I did to annoy the staff which were visibly agitated by their customer interactions, but I wound up having to wait almost an hour for a simple pickup. It turns out someone had crossed out my name on the signup sheet. They said I must not have heard someone call my name, but that was not the case. I believe that the staff engaged in vindictive behavior for an unknown reason. I worked in customer service for decades and I understand how difficult it can be to put up with overbearing rude customers while you are busy, but I have never been anything but pleasant and patient with their staff. I was completely undeserving of the treatment I received. I received only the most halfhearted of apologies. I will not be using this business again. read more

So, got glasses in store - no problem. I'm told to go online where my prescription is saved to order others. So, I did for prescription sun glasses. First, they overcharged me for the frames - then, not as I was told at the store, I find that they are being made in Texas and will take 7-10 days. I go to the "chat" function - which gave an auto-reply of call this 1-800 number. What is the point of having a "chat" function if it's crap. Worst experience ever. Now I am waiting for 7-10 days for an over $100 pair of sun-glasses. read more
