Reading all these negative reviews, it reminded me about the golden rule... you the way you be treated. A witnessed how some customers had really crappy attitudes and we're always on their phone.... So if that's the kind of energy they put out it's no wonder they don't get waited on hand and foot. For me, my experience was absolutely amazing.... I had gotten into a horrible accident and lost part of my eyesight and I also have brain damage because my memory is severely affected. There was a nice indigenous woman who saw my glasses all up in white gorilla tape. And my head wound was still evident, I came in to get new glasses because my prescription was two years old.... I didn't expect my glasses to be fixed, but she took a look at them, politely asked to see them and said she would be right back. Even after the warranty was a year past she gave me new frames..... that was absolutely compassionate and kind. I have always gone there and after this, there's no way I would go any place else because the humanity they showed..... was beautiful and I am so grateful. So I can walk around with normal glasses instead of looking like a mashed up mummy lol. SCAM....They just bait people with bull crap sale promotions , just be honest from the beginning. The promotion was 2 glasses for 79.00 and a free exam, I couldn't find 2 I like so I told her I'd pay for both and only get ONE PAIR of glasses......and the total is 634.00. "literally just wanted a junk pair for work" Then when I tell the lady theres ZERO CHANCE IN HECK, the price mysteriously works its way down to 346.00, then again to 234.00. lol place is a JOKE! I had 1,300 cash on me, I only say that to say this, I had no issue yesterday or in the past paying 6-700 for a pair of glasses....BUT when I can get Oakley, Gucci , or other named brands that are good quality for the same price as these flea market value glasses AND THEN YOU LIE to get me in the door with a bs promotional deal? Went to get exam and new glasses but after receiving new glasses I could tell they were not right. But sales associate told me to wear for a week .Which I did and I still could not see well. I believe the optometrist did not do exam properly, or the equipment was not used properly and or the company who makes the lens is inferior. They checked glasses again and said the axis were off. They sent them back to lens company. Waited another week and the glasses were still the same. I asked for a refund and received most of it. They had shorted me $50 so I had to call back to receive the rest. I asked the manager for a refund on the eye exam but he refused. I went to Eyeglass World on Coors and received the perfect pair of glasses , everything is crystal clear and I can drive at night! The glasses for my daughter were purchased and the lens turned yellow. Staton say to come on in and we will warranty it as it's been less than a year since purchase. I go into fix the lens via warranty and one manager accuses my daughter of uses the lens in the swimming pool. Really? Then says that I'll be charged 20% to replace the lens that turned yellow. This is no fault of ours. When I walked in, the team member says "this is the second yellow lens I see today." I asked, "did they have to pay 20% replacement?" "No, the owner waived the fee." Now I sit and wait with yellow lenses to see if my request will be waived! Insane. The manager had some audacity to make a claim that it was our fault. This place is a joke. The only good part was the eye exam. Getting the glasses that were ordered was a nightmare, never again. I placed an order for 2 sets of glasses and explained that I would be leaving the country in 6 weeks. Was assured that there would be no problem, both pairs of glasses would be ready within 10 days. The first pair came in as planned. Was told that the 2nd pair was delayed and they would call me back in 5 business days. That came and went. I called them and was told that they would be at the store in 2 days and they would call me. No call. I went in and was told that the glasses had been lost and to pick another frame and the new glasses would be done on a rush for me. I picked new glasses and waited for the 7 business days, no call. Went into the store and all I got was more "so sorry for the delay but we appreciate your business". They never called when they said that they would. I ended up leaving the country with only 1 pair of glasses. They wouldn't do a refund since the glasses were "set to be delivered to the store in 2 businesses days". I heard that a lot. I ended up having to get the glasses shipped to me since I had left the states for 6 months. I would STRONGLY recommend to go else and save the aggravation. read more

It is an alright place if you need to get something quickly, but I likely won't go back. The prices are a little high, the turnaround time was long, and really the quality for the price isn't there. Overall there are better places, but if you can't afford an exam and cheap glasses or contacts to get you by, this might be your option. After my exam, it took quite some time to get attention while I was looking at glasses for driving. I knew what I wanted pretty quickly. The positives: The staff was nice. The rest: However , I did not see a doctor in person. The doctor is on video- and all of your exam is done in a room with the virtual doctor. It was cool from a tech standpoint. But it was strange to have a doctor be on a screen vs in the room. So. It didn't leave room for questions. It definitely feels like a franchise. I think this is a great place to buy glasses or contact lenses. However, I recommend finding an eye doctor if you want a personal touch, a person on the room that can answer questions about your eyes, etc. read more

My son and I have been waiting over two weeks for our glasses. we was told it's delayed apparently ups is the issue..., apart from their snobby attitude we were give the tracking number to track our glasses ourselves...... I guess it's our jobs now to make sure our glasses gets to NM and to the store....., this is absolutely ridiculous I would never recommend this place. My husband had an appointment on Monday at 11:30. When we arrived they promptly seated us. While we were waiting another young man walked in and stated he had an 11:30 appointment. Upon hearing this news, I went to the counter to ask if the other man's appointment was at the same time as ours? She answered yes! My next question was, does your company double book their appointments? The answer was yes! However, this is not stated on their website. As I looked around, the waiting room was slammed packed. With one optometrist on duty, we did not elect to stay. Just the thought of being rushed through the eye exam made us very uncomfortable! Very long wait for service. Did not care much for the video conference which was suppose to be my eye exam. Eventually picked out a pair of glasses expecting to pick up some of there advertised specials. BOGO, discounts. The customer service is terrible and the associate had an awful rude attitude. My lenses were scratched on two pairs of glasses. Stanton did send for replacement lenses I sent my own frames for new lenses and frames returned with paint damaged and flaking. The associate claimed the damage paint was from use and my body wearing paint off. I know the frames were in excellent condition when sent out. The paint is flaking and rough and not damage from wearing them. These frames were not in a case but received back in a soft pouch read more

I've used this Stanton for many years , always very happy . The last time there , got a full eye exam and ordered glasses . After a week or so I left these were not as sharp as I felt they could be , I'm almost 70 years old . Well Marie the store manager & Tom the Brand manager asked me to come in again . I did , They found a small difference in the two prescriptions . They made me a new updated with more features than the first . They Were Great . I'll be back next year and recommend everyone I know. To add insult to injury, I'm out 300.00 They also knew about their doctor being sexually inappropriate. Like I said I told Everyone about all of this. Even the District manager got it wrong. I was not happy with the service and cleanliness of the optical eye examine equipment. The equipment was greasy. Yuck. I give this place negative stars. Like a black hole kinda star. Long story short, it had been 5 years since my last eye exam and I lost my glasses. Cue freak out mode because it was a Saturday (on a holiday weekend) and I am leaving to go out of town on Thursday, so I needed glasses ASAP! I googled "same day glasses" and Stanton optical came up, but I was SUPER hesitant to call because of course I came here to YELP first and saw the reviews. Crap. I call Warby Parker where I usually get my glasses from but they had no appointments available before I go out of town, and no one else was open Monday (Labor day). So I called Stanton and they offered me an appointment the next day (Sunday). I was pleasantly surprised with my experience, my eye exam was pretty straightforward, and the tech was super nice. After the exam I looked around at the eyeglasses they had a lot of options, and I found a pair comparable to my Warby Parker glasses that were lost. The guy working the front then helped put my order into the computer. He told me they did not have a tech working to get the glasses to me that day but that I should have them sometime this week if my prescription wasn't too strong. I got a text the next day that they were ready! Tried them on, and I can see! No problem with having a wrong or inaccurate prescription. Very happy they came through for me, now I can go out of town stress free! The frames were a little pricey, which is why I knocked off a star, but I would definitely recommend Stanton optical! read more

I had to pick up my glasses in 2 different trips and didn't feel like when I asked to have one pair adjusted they knew what they were doing because they didn't check to see if they really fit. Then I get a chance to finally head back to get an adjustment and they are super busy and tell me to sit and wait they just need to be more organized and make the eye exams feel more personal read more

Recently, a repair request ended in my glasses being accidentally broken...could have been a disaster ..... Not! Kudos to Maria Velasquez, Sales Manager for the Corrales location. Maria took charge and completely took action to remediate my situation, she was kind and very responsive. TLDR: THIS STORE SUCKS! Under-staffed, poor customer service, many other problems. Before COVID it sucked. During COVID it sucks worse. AVOID. Non-TLDR below: The number that seems like a local number connects you to their national office. I recently called to order new contacts, and waited on hold 14 minutes. After that wait, the only service that the guy on the national number could provide was to call the unlisted local number for me. He tried that, but failed to get through. So he provided the actual local number to me, which is kept unlisted, for god knows what reason, since the national number is worthless. (I've been through the same rigamarole with this before from Stanton...) After my call with the national center concluded, I called the actual local number, and waited on hold for 23 minutes before reaching a person. The person who finally helped me was very nice, but she couldn't get her system to process an over-the-phone payment that was needed to place my order for contact lenses. It required 10 more minutes to just find out that nugget of information. She wanted me to come in, during COVID, just to swipe my card! No thank you, I have observed how inefficient that office runs, I would probably be there for 30 minutes just to swipe my card for an order. I asked for my prescription to be mailed to me so that I could take my business elsewhere. At this point, a manager stepped in and offered that they could, in fact, process a card payment over the phone. Result: I spent an hour waiting on the phone just to make a simple order for contacts. This wasn't the first incident of suckyness, there were 2 others, both before COVID. The earlier problems included issues with picking up orders. Can't wait to go through that again. Just an awful place. I feel sorry for the people that work there because their management do not have them set up for success. read more

Went in for an eye exam to get an updated contact prescription. I was there for over 2 hours from the time of my appointment only to be told they were unable to sign off on my prescription due to an IT issue. I was told to come back the following day. I arrived there first thing in the morning (they open at 9). Myself and several others had to wait over 15 minutes for the manager to finally show up and open the store. I will say that Ariel was a bright spot and provided me with excellent customer service. Unfortunately she is employed at an establishment that is clearly ran poorly. read more

Pretty good but things got a-lot more expensive when they knew we had insurance. The eye exam was good and the prescription was accurate.

Staff was most helpful and provide excellent customer service. Would have rated them as excellent, but am waiting to see how well the telecom technology works. Had to wait a bit because of some IT issues, but find waiting is a common occurrence at all the places I have gone. The one thing that I really liked was getting an appointment right away. Last place I went I had to wait three months and did not get the service or pricing expected. read more

I'm giving 3 stars because I was able to get my father in quickly. I'm not giving more stars because there is no optometrist on sight. They use telecom technology. We were sent away because they couldn't help us since he needs to see an actual doctor. I wish I would have known that was the way they ran their clinic. The technician that helped us was great!
