What a gimmick! The sales tactic is a joke. For people likey sister who are on a budget, this seems ideal but it's a big scam. They advertise a $69 special but after turn around and charge almost $200. I went in ask for a break down and explanation and the girl was snarky and talked so fast circling details on a laminated breakdown sheet. The selection of glasses is horrific. I don't know who would choose to wear any of the glasses in the predetermined selection. They if you choose other glasses, you get a hefty upcharge. Let's not forget the "free prescription" that you get with purchase. Don't fall for it. This was our first, and last, time at Stanton Optical. We went to them because they were offering a $99 contact lens special. When we arrived for my wife's appointment, the store was busy and we were directed to the area where the free exam was offered. The representative, Kara, was obviously under stress and became argumentative when my wife began talking with her about the offer. After a manager finally arrived she informed us that the website hadn't been updated and they wouldn't honor the deal. My wife informed her that it wasn't our fault that Stanton Optical hadn't updated the site, so they should honor the deal. The manager conceded and honored the offer. Unfortunately, the problems didn't stop there. When we were trying to check out, the manager left for lunch, and the person checking us out had no clue how to deal with our deal. At the end of it all, we finally got what was advertised. We will NEVER go to Stanton Optical ever again. read more

I wish I had read the reviews before scheduling and taking time out of my weekend. Scheduled my daughter an exam on Saturday because I work all week and they offered Saturday appointments. Walked in, wasn't there 5 minutes and walked out. I had scheduled over the phone, which they told me was my first mistake, because over the phone I was offered a 45 dollar special for the exam, lens and frames. I even called days apart before scheduling to ensure this deal was indeed true. So we get there and immediately they tell me that they will not honor the special because I booked over the phone and that the booking agents don't know the specials for the area which upset me more because they obviously booked me for the cottonwood location. I walked to my car and called the same number I had called to book the appointment with and I asked them why they would lie and false advertise this $45 special. They put me on with a costumer representative superintendent who said that deal is true and should of been honored. He called the store directly and told me that if I went back they would see my daughter for the $45 special. I did have him book me an appointment for the next day but I have decided to not return after my own experience and the reviews. SAVE YOUR TIME AND AVOID THIS PLACE!!! read more

ok so don't ever cancel an appointment. they will call and text and email REPEATEDLY. the website made booking easy but no way to cancel. I called and the staff said they canceled it. immediately started getting reminders for the appointment. then after the appointment time the texts started. then calls. then emails. it's been 3 days. I told them I'd schedule again once an unexpected bill was resolved. now? please just leave me alone. (I couldn't get through to the location to make this request). I will probably go elsewhere as I have felt hounded. they made me want to block their number. it was like a high school break up where the guy says they can still be friends then stalks the girl. my clients are probably wondering who in the world would call that much during a person's work shift? they're also probably sick of my ringtone. my mom had a great experience so I'm guessing if you go it'll be ok but I can't vouch personally. I'm totally disgusted with these rip off artists! I had their eye exam via virtual TV, no doctor present. It was a joke! I knew the test was bogus and when I recieved my glasses they said my eyesight improved! It was an absolute lie but assured me that the prescription was correct and to wear them for a month. I told them I was going on vacation and wouldn't be back for a month. They reassured me that it will be fine and to call them when I get back and they will take care of it. When I got back from vacation I called them to make an appointment which was made for the following week. I just left their establishment totally pissed off! They told me I have to pay for a new eye exam if I want the right prescription for new eye glasses! They told me that my original eye exam was over a month ago so I have to pay for another one! Went for my annual eye exam , going to Staton for several years . Results were always spot on , always happy . Well got my results and ordered glasses from Stanton . But , after getting them I felt a little uncomfortable with the prescription . I got a recheck with store manager Maria , she was Great . I got a new prescription and Maria replaced and even updated the new glasses . I will see you next year !! Thank you management . read more

Had an appointment at 4:45pm and it now 5:45pm still not seeing a doctor yet. When asked staff about how much more time we had to wait, we got an dirty look. Bathroom is a disaster. Toilet seat is not even attached to toilet , no toilet papers. If it is not because my daughter is desperate for some new glasses, we would never come here. Mediocre. My wife only needed to get frames because she is a Vet and gets her glasses at the VA hospital. Unfortunately, the VA doesn't have much in the way of ladies frames (they do have two to choose from at any given time, and my wife has both those frames from years ago but she doesn't like either one). So we have to buy her frames elsewhere and my wife had seen that Stanton had the color frames that she had been looking for, so she went there to get her frames. Unfortunately the Stanton staff is not very competent and although my wife clearly told them that she just wanted to get the frames, pay for them and leave quickly so she is not in the store during the Covid-19 Pandemic any longer than necessary, their incompetence kept her in the store far longer than she needed to be there. The store was empty, there literally no customers in the store at all, so there was no reason for the three employees who were standing around doing nothing to delay my wife (I was waiting outside since we didn't need both of us to go in). At first they told her that they didn't have them that she could only buy what was on the shelves, but my wife had previously checked the website and called them so she knew that they were in stick at that location. It too much wasted time for her to convince them to look through their inventory and they did find that they had the correct frames but they were Blue which is the incorrect color and my wife specifically told them the color she wanted (that color is the whole reason that we went to Stanton to begin with) so they tried to sell her the blue frames, but she stood her ground and they looked again and found the correct color. Then they handed her the frames without a case, so my wife asked for a case. They said they did have that size, which is total nonsense, but she insisted on a case so they looked again and pulled one out. All the cases are the same, they are cheap plastic generic cases so they most certainly have cases for all their glasses that they sell. Then the employee could not get the case to close on the frames, so much time was wasted while three employees tried to figure out how to close the case. My wife finally took the case from them, flipped the frames the right side up and she closed the case on the first try. This is not rocket science, although most people put on their glasses right away, plenty of them get more than one pair (reading, computer, sunglasses, etc.) so closing the one generic case that they have in stock should be child's play. Apparently for Stanton its a huge challenge to get the case closed because they placed the frames inside it upside down. PS I was standing out front watching all this nonsense, and my wife was texting me all the nonsense as it was happening. They tried to charge her double, for the frames even though the frames were on sale. It took a significant effort effort for my wife to explain that it was a sale price to three different employees who tried to convince her that the sale price was only for online purchases but the online purchases are only for in-store pickup (they won't ship frames to your home) and so it really is the sam price in the store, so the employees finally checked and confirmed that the sal price my wife told them was correct. Even worse is that they demanded her name and date of birth to create an account for her even though she just wanted to buy frames, and never use their services because she gets her services at the VA hospital forever so she just needed to pay for frames and get out (we are still in the middle of the Covid-19 Pandemic and she did not need to stand there discussing her needs and desire to get out quickly with three employees, when all she wanted was very simple), but the employee insisted on demanding her personal information and then demanded for her to show her ID when my wife resisted giving them her personal information which was totally unnecessary. We are shocked and appalled that Stanton would demand such personal information when it's clearly useless to them. We buy six frames a year, three fir each one of us (reading glasses, distance glasses and prescription sunglasses) so we could be good regular customers for them but wit that kind of terrible service we will keep looking for some other company to supply us with out annual glasses purchases. Go to any other optometrists in the country these people have no follow through, No sense of customer satisfaction(from the store management to regional it's the same all I got was apologizes with no results), & No anx about taking your money and giving you nothing essentially. I waited over four and half months paid over $100 and all I got was an exam and trial contacts that did NOT fit my prescription. Best part was they "lost" my order and all they can do is give me a discount on the exact thing that I just got hosed on ‍. Stanton has a broken system and YOU pay for it. HORRIBLE EXPERIENCE!!!!! DO NOT GO TO THIS LOCATION! I walked in with my frames needing adjustment, the assistant manager Matt Sanchez who helped me, ended up scratching my lenses!!!! Matt Sanchez (assistant manager) argued with me telling me that he didn't do it. He's the only one who handled my glasses! And then proceeded to tell me....."too bad, it's his word against mine" !!!! Great customer service, professional staff, excellent product. First time using Stanton OPTICAL. It was very busy the day of my eye exam and all the staff were working hard to take care of all customers. Great customer service, I totally blew it in my first selection of my frame style. After weeks of trying to adapt to the style "I chose". I decided to go back and get a different frame design. I found one I like better & causally mentioned I did not like my first selection. The manager Kelly offer to swap out the my original frame chose. I was blown away. It was totally my fault for not making the correct selection. I was so happy I still purchased the new selection . I was even more happy after they were ready. Now I have two perfect sets of glasses that I am totally satisfied with. I will go always go back to this location if I ever have more eyewear needs. Called Saturday afternoon to get an appt for my daughters glasses. Was able to get a first-thing on Sunday appt. We worked with associate Dayanna to figure out our insurance limits and get lined up with the glasses we wanted. We were out within an hour and glasses will be ready to pick Monday afternoon ! I made a same day appointment because of some problems I was experiencing with my vision. The person on the phone assured me the doctor would be able to asses what was going on. I showed up for my appointment and was told I would be virtually seeing a licensed refractionist or something. No eye doctor in the office. When I explained what was going on with my vision to the employee there he told me the virtual visit would not be able to asses what was going on with my eyes. Total waste of time. Very frustrating. I'm sure they're fine if all you need is a regular eye exam but if it's anything else don't bother. read more

Stanton Optical in the Cottonwood area of Albuquerque has got to offer the worst customer service of just about any business I've dealt with in the area over the past several years. I ordered two pair of glasses (buy one get one free). The primary frame I wanted was ruined by the person putting in the lens and they had to find a replacement in another store. After many calls and visits, I was told the frames had been found and sent over, but I discovered they had the lenses put in the wrong frames (not even close in color or shape). Someone wrote down the frame number wrong apparently, and they now don't know what pair I ordered and it isn't in the store anymore. The staff look perpetually confused. I was told they would investigate but noone ever graces me with a return call. The main center (where all the phone calls go) is useless and keep "elevating" the issue back to the original store. I have asked for a full refund given I can't get the frames I initially wanted and am expecting a fight with them. They keep telling me that I ordered the frames I didn't order, due to THEIR mixup. DO YOURSELF A FAVOR AND NEVER EVER GO TO THIS ESTABLISHMENT FOR ANY REASON! THE TWILIGHT ZONE OF RETAIL STORES! read more

Worst experience ever. Since day one it just got worse. No customer service what so ever. First appt was early and told to come back 1/2 hour later. Then girl (purple hair) was mad - no clue. I couldn't stand in the right area. She didn't give any direction so I started looking at frames. Then she came looking for me and said you need to stay in their area. I followed her back and she handed me a note pad and said fill out. I filled out placed back on her desk. She was on the computer for a good 5 minutes- never looked at me. So I met back to look at frames. Assuming she wasn't ready for me again. She came to me and said you didn't fill out the note pad- I said yea I did - she proceeded to show me more pages. Which I was not aware of. Which a strange upset disposition. It was super awkward now. I remember wanting to just leave and I should of. I had already changed my schedule to make time to get much needed eye glasses. The next person who helped me was Asian lady very nice but it was like a circus event. I left and the only good choice I made was to get insurance on my $600 purchase. Was never informed when glasses were ready- when I picked up- no one fit them for me- just handed them off. Within months my glasses had a fog over them and could not clean them. When I took them back in nice Asian lady handled the transaction. Within three weeks my glasses were scratchy looking again. When I went back - a new manager helped me nicer once he found out how much I spent on glasses - and told me not to clean my glasses with eye glass wipes. That is what is scratching them up??? My entire family were glasses and we all use the same products to clean our glasses. anyhow- I left feeling that this place has issues! He told me they should be in blunt tue 22 of Oct- you should get a text or call but if not call after the 22nd- I tried calling no one ever answered the phone. I drove to store was greeted by now a new guy- Whom informed me someone would be right with me. And believe it or not the purple hair person came out asked me to go to her side of the store and once again didn't say much - ran off came back - mumbling and then finally stated the store manager was going to come try and find the glasses. In the meantime- telling him the co worker next to her signed for them but she could not find them- this continued as the store manager didn't address me as to what ups. At the end they find the lenses and ask me where is the frame - which I have not been wearing these glasses since I came in the last time. Can't see out of them. Ha! I had them in a bag going to good will - he said I need the frames - which didn't happen the last time. So confusing as when I tried calling for one- no one answered phone could not even leave a message. And to find out now I need to go look for them frames. Wasted trip once more and very unprofessional- say something - communicate to the customer! Crazy day!!!! Go back the next day - and manager now see me coming and walks away. Worst worst worst experience of my life... not only was the exam NOT right twice I find out after complaing to them and my insurance that they are not even in my network. It would have been nice to know that before my exam. They even went over my benefits. Then they refused to refund me for the exam when it was wrong and refused to help me get my benefit back when I now need a 2nd opinion and have no benefits left. Please don't ever go there they are horrible and this has been a nightmare. Also now I have another bill since they are out of network. I went to this location with my husband at the end of May, 2017. Was given the sales speech about their glasses deal. I wear glasses 40% of the time and contacts 60% of the time. My vision is very bad and I can't go without either. I can't deal with down time or delays, and my visit to Stanton because of their deal was to give me multiple vision options (in case something happened, I'd have adequate back up glasses and contacts). First, nobody ever called me or my husband to let us know my husband's glasses were ready. I had to call them. Then after nearly another three weeks, I had to call again to find out my contacts were ready. The first thing I noticed about one of my pairs of glasses were that they were physically damaged. They had a chrome color pink finish but the front left lens area there was a scratch, marring the chrome down to a silver color. I had these sent back, and the explanation was that they "had a new glasses guy"... When I finally got my back up pair, I was excited, but concerned. I told them that they gave me a weird "feeling" when I looked through them. I got told that this was because it was a newer feeling and I should just adjust. When I didn't adjust and complained, I was told I could come back in and PAY to have the glasses looked at and my eyesight checked again. My husband has the same complaint about BOTH pairs of his glasses. Considering we already spent HUNDREDS on our total vision order, this really made me dissatisfied with the whole experience. But wait, it gets worse. Barely 3 months after my May visit (even though I didn't actually get my hands on my glasses til June), my frames on my primary pair of glasses broke. 3 months. I figured this would be covered under warranty. Hah, it's covered in the sense that I would have to pay a deductible because in their minds it was past the 90 days. I was upset and reached out to corporate. Corporate decided I needed a call from the store manager. The store manager gave me apologies about the staff (the change-over they were dealing with regarding the person that makes the lenses and fits them into the frames). I was told if I wasn't happy with my glasses, I could bring them in and get a discount towards a different pair. It's not that I'm not happy, I genuinely feel that there is something wrong with the lenses in one pair, and the other pair I had to get replacement frames after 3 months. I begrudgingly took my replacement frames and went home. Well, now it's a little more than three months later, and guess what? That same pair of glasses frames have broken, again. Here I sit with one pair of broken glasses, and another pair where I swear the lens prescription is off and I can't wear them because they give me a headache, and two pairs my husband won't even wear because they "make my eyes hurt" (mind you, we filled his prescription at another Optical place and those glasses don't give him a headache). At the call center, they are unable to check the order status and instead attempt to connect me to the West Albuquerque location. The West Albuquerque location doesn't answer, which sends me back to the call center. Around and around it goes. Don't go here. Go to a local eye doctor who actually has staff to answer the phone and answer your questions. read more

Hope you have a lot of spare time. I spent well over an hour and a half here just getting my eye exam. I showed up on time for my 5:15 appointment and with no one in front of me and only one person already in the exam room it took until 5:40 to start my exam. I wasn't seen by the "refractionist", no optometrist apparently, until 6:15. When I finally did get seen it was virtually, via a remote television link. Not happy about that. Wish there was a zero star option for this business! I made an appointment for 10:30 and arrived at 10:15. The person who checked me in said "there are 6 people ahead of you. Sorry, they always overbook and I don't know why." So I wait and wait. Finally, I am taken into a curtained off area for pre-testing. I never once saw them clean any of the equipment, the tech couldn't work the machines right and she forgot to give me my own glasses back until I asked for them as I walked out the door. I didn't see a doctors - just a person on a tv screen who moved the lenses on the machine. Again, didn't clean in between patients which is extremely disgusting because of germs from mouths, noses and eyes! I tried on two frames and very quickly realized that I'm not sure WHEN the last time the try on glasses were cleaned because there were smudges and film all over the lenses. So, I waited and waited for my prescription. "Ooops, I forgot to print it out."?I felt bad for the many people who came in and out the door who also had bad experiences. Several people asked to ask for the Manager. I could go on and on but I will NEVER, EVER go back or recommend them. I don't even trust that the prescription I got was actually accurate. read more

Scheduled an appointment with my mothers date of birth (4 visits at Stanton's on (corralals rd) in the system). We get there and they didn't know how old she was and wanted me to fill out another electronic form and reschedule because she was over 79. The main optometrist was off, so they had to reschedule. What pisses me off is that my mother hasn't been outside in the world since this virus, so this kind of mistake is ridiculous. The 20 year old male receptionist I asked" how did you not know her age? I don't know, Its part of the system... WHAT!? lasked him " how do you not know, she been here 4x before". he said I don't care " Ill never go back there again. Not quite sure why theres a need to make an appointment online. Every time I've done this (a total of 3) there seems no sense of urgency nor regard for other people's time. I went in at 10:30 and waited until 12:30 before finally just getting my old prescription instead of going through with an eye exam. I am kind of curious how long it would have actually taken. Paid for new glasses w/the wrong prescription & they basically tell him he's SOL. Who does that?? My daughter & I used their virtual reality dr last year & those prescriptions were way off. THIS place is awesome! Got my exam done in a efficient manner the new technology had my prescription pretty accurate and we worked on getting it even better. This place looks nice on the outside, but the customer service is pretty awful. When they are busy, the staff don't even acknowledge you, and you end up waiting (sometimes up to 30 minutes) before anyone even acknowledges that you've been waiting. And you call, you are transferred to a centralized call center and have to wait for a call back. I've found it easier to just walk in, but then the wait is awful. read more

This store is so bad that it would stand out in a ghetto! The workers are pleasant and the glasses are fine, but everything else is awful. The optical provider was way off, as a second opinion with a real eye doctor demonstrated. The store does not accept calls in, as these are all routed to a customer service center where they basically just take your message and kill it. The customer service people have no apparent knowledge of anything useful. Overall, anyone who uses these folks can expect the worst! read more
