We went to Stanislaus Custom Upholstery on 01/30/26 to have 8 dining room chairs and 4 bar stools re-covered. Armando was very helpful in assisting us with selecting our fabric. He provided a quote that day and we paid our deposit so that the fabric could be ordered. The fabric came in really quickly on 01/06/26. We delivered the chair pads that afternoon and the chair pads were ready the next day on 01/07/26. We picked the chair pads up today 01/09/26 and we are very happy with the workmanship! Quoted one week to complete my dashboard reupholstery. I called after one week he said Wednesday or Thursday, I'll call you. He did not call. I called after another week and he said Wednesday or Thursday, I'll call you. He did not call. I emailed him that if I didn't hear from him by Sunday I was taking Monday off of work and picking it up finished or not. I did not hear from him, so 9 AM Monday I am at the shop--locked and no lights on, so he doesn't read his emails either. I called and he said he'd be there at noon, I'll call you. At 1 PM he had not called, so I texted and he asked if I could come the next day at 1 PM. We settled on 6 PM that same day, two weeks late. It was ready when I got there and he did take 7% off the price. He did not match the nappa leather but used whole-grain, but that's on me because I assumed he would and did not specify. His workmanship seems fine but dealing with him was too much of a hassle. He lost two additional jobs from coworkers because he refused to communicate and couldn't meet his own deadlines. Armando was responsive from day one when I emailed for RFQ along with dimensions and pics of the sectional cushions. Dropped the cushions off and were done 2 days later. I picked them up and they weren't shortened done correctly, but Armando said bring them back and we will fix immediately. They were done next day but we went out of town and Armando had no issues keeping the cushions for a few days until we can pick them up. They fit great and the sectional looks brand new. My parents paid $3K and were thinking of buying a new one but my father thought maybe just replacing the cushions would fix the look and feel....and for $650, it did both. My headliner on my pickup truck was coming loose. I asked around for recommendations with Kruse Lucas Auto Import on Tully Rd and Vinyl Doctor for an upholstery shop who could do the repair work and both recommended Stanislaus Custom Upholstery on Kiernan Ave in Modesto CA. I made contact with Armando who is the owner of the Company to see if he could do the repair work and he said yes. We scheduled an appointment for the next day. The work was performed by Armando's brother and he did excellent work attaching my headliner to the body of the truck. The price was fair attaching the headliner to the truck. Stay far far away from this shop. I took my car to Keanez Kustoms to do some work and they sent my car to this upholstery shop. I couldn't find the name of the shop until today to leave a review. It was done over a year and a half ago between them and Keanez Customs, They completely destroyed my 69 Camaro. My car had to be reupholstered. After getting three different quotes from three different shops all three shops said, who the F did your car. They had no idea what they were doing. They put some of the seals on backwards they destroyed my headliner as it wasn't installed correctly . They used the same foam that came with the original car back in 1969.. However, that was at the suggestion of James Keanez so it's already broke in is what he said. My carpet wasn't installed correctly, even though it was a carpet kit should've been pretty straightforward . It had all kinds of wrinkles and lifting. It wasn't glued down no foam underneath. I could go on and on and on and don't get me started on Keanez Kustoms in Modesto. Please please take my advice stay far away from both of these shops they will destroy your car and rip you off in the meantime. read more

We took a headboard in to be repaired. The old leather covering was peeling and cracking and needed to be replaced. We went in and was able to pick out our desired fabric. Once the headboard was dropped off the turn around time was good. The end result was a beautifully restored headboard that looks as good as new. If I could leave no stars I would. THE WORST OF THE WORST. I originally brought a few damaged couch cushions in because I wanted to have a few small slits in the leather repaired. Chris told me he would look them over and give me a call later that day wth an estimate for the replacement leather. I Didn't hear from him for a few days so I thought I should go pick the cushions back up and go somewhere else. That's when a different person told me he could fix them by glueing them shut which is what I was looking to do in the first place, and since Chris was no where to be found I agreed. He told me not to tell Chris because Chris is the "leather guy" which makes sense because of course he would want me to pay more than the couch is even worth by replacing the whole panel of leather. SKETCHY! So I left the couch for 4 days to be repaired. When I came back today to pick them up, I was astonished. There were my cushions untouched. I was then told by a different person that he could have them glued up and fixed by 3. I left once again returning to find my couch cushions were not fixed as promised. Chris finally contacted me however telling me they were "impossible" to fix which I don't buy for a second. So I am now left with wasted time (needed them fixed this weekend for a party) and couch cushions that are still not repaired. HORRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE AND VERY SKETCHY PLACE.
