If you're a person who knows exactly what you want and need no assistance, then this place is for you. They do have a good selection with good prices. But if you need assistance, suggestions or advice, then this place is definitely not for you. Avoid at all cost. Workers are rude and are more concerned about texting or talking on the phone than helping their customers. Go to Hobby Lobby or something. Sure it's always good to support local businesses, but when the customer service is so horrible then they don't deserve my business. Left after five minutes and never going back. read more

This is an excellent fabric store! Huge selection with reasonable prices. They have some quilting fabrics and fleece, but the selection here is mostly apparel fabrics which are way more varied and more reasonably priced than Joann. There's a huge selection of poly prints, beautiful embellished evening wear fabrics, handwoven silk fabric, appliqués, TONS of incredible embellished trims, every color elastic and binding you can imagine...I could go on and on! They've also got a selection of new and vintage patterns. Staff are very helpful and friendly. Masks are currently required for entry but they sell reusable/washable fabric ones in store. If you're an apparel sewist, I can't recommend Rainbow enough! read more

I just picked up my wedding dress today and I am in love! Crazy how the seamstress from David's bridal recommended this place to me to find the lace to add to my dress and I ended up getting my alterations here instead! Eva did such an amazing job! Words can't even describe how happy I am, this place is truly a gem... too bad I live in Stockton !! But I truly recommend this place they have so many options for lace, I had gone to Joann's and paid $40 for lace and the lace I got from here was the exact ivory color for my wedding dress and i believe it cost me $12-$14 .. i ended up returning the lace from Joann's! This place has great fabrics for any costume or bridal or formal project you are doing. The staff has always been helpful with my questions. I'm not sure about a few reviews saying they weren't helpful. I haven't had that issue, and I've been here at least 6 times. I really like this store and recommend them for any formal project their selection of colors and types of fabrics is huge! read more

It takes a lot for me to take the time a write a review. My experience either needs to be amazing or really bad for me to do so. This was my first time coming to this place and I will definitely be going back. I first called to make sure they were open and to see if they had elastic for making masks. The lady on the phone was so nice even though they were extremely busy. She informed me that I needed to bring a mask to wear or I could buy one in store and that she did have elastic. When I got into the store the lady at the register was amazing! I didn't get her name but she was so helpful and friendly. We chatted about making masks and keeping ourselves and our families safe. I came in annoyed and grumpy from having to wait (they have to limit the amount of people in the store to keep everyone safe) but when I got to the register the lady turned my mood right side up. Rainbow Fabrics is not a quilting store. There is a quilting store right down the street if you need it. They are, however, perfect for big sewing jobs and carry everything you need for upholstery and making clothes/gowns/suits/accessories and pretty much everything else at a very reasonable price. The staff is friendly and very knowledgeable about fabric, sewing, and everything in between. Also, the seamstress is not part of the business. She works in the building and they share customers, but she is her own separate business and is not a representation of Rainbow Fabrics as a whole. She is very talented though and works at a good speed with reasonable prices. read more

Atmosphere: Use to be in Downtown Turlock, but now moved a couple blocks up into the Turlock Town Center Plaza. The store is next to Rite Aid on the right. Inside is pretty tight for their load of products, but you can still find things pretty easy due to how they've organized it. Customer service: The lady didn't say much while we were there, but the guy was such a kind person! He talked to us as if we were regulars and was very helpful and knowledgeable about their products. Products: There are so many colors, sizes and varieties of fabric, beads, elastic, ribbon, zippers, Velcro and more! All are reasonably priced as well. Overall: Will definitely be coming back when in need of these products! read more

Great prices, flexible schedules for seamstresses, wide selection of fabric in store. Only downside was that a piece of fabric I had added to my dress was a little bit crooked, however, it wasn't extremely noticeable and for the price I paid and the short notice I gave the seamstress to work with, I would say overall this is a worthwhile place to shop and have dress alterations done at. read more

fabric selection is rather good and affordable. most fabrics range from $3.99-$6.99/yd. they also have a large selection of trims/elastic/zippers/buttons/thread etc. they carry tons of patterns that are only a couple dollars a piece and i like that they sell alphanumeric pattern paper (only $1.00/yd). every time i shop there i am helped promptly by very friendly employees. i definitely recommend checking them out. read more

Do not go to the seamstress here. I dropped off 4 pairs of jeans to be hemmed she does not speak very good English but I did understand she wanted me to pay when I dropped off my jeans. I paid her $48 and she gave me my receipt. Came back a week later with my receipt she states I never paid cause my receipt did not have paid written on it!! She would not give me my jeans until I paid another $48!! My 4 pair of hemmed jeans just cost me $96!!! This is so disappointing!! Ugh I will never go back to her again!! read more

have always gone to Rainbow Fabrics for unique trims, ribbons, bargain bin items, etc. They have a great selection of fabrics. The prices are very reasonable. The staff is very helpful and knowledgeable. And they HAVE staff available to help. And don't let the guys fool you, (sometimes girls think guys haven't a clue) they are great too. Outstanding store. Family oriented. Glad they just moved, and didn't go out of business. Will miss the downtown location, but glad they'll be in a more accessible spot and parking will be better. read more
