The show was wonderful, but they have no idea what they're doing when it comes to the service. Server waited to give everyone their check AFTER the show ended, and took every table's cards at the same time. Had to wait 15-20 minutes just to leave. They need to start using mobile card readers to make things go faster. Toast mobile POSI has existed for a while now, I have no idea why they wouldn't invest in something like that at this point. read more

I always love coming to these comedy shows. It has been years since I've been here but to hear Christopher Titus was coming we had to come. Their is a 2 drink minimum and thought our tickets were free we did have to pay a 12 dollar service fee or something. Our drinks turned out expensive go figure I got the special that was for the show not sure the name but it was fruit punch with vodka turned out to be like 19 bucks and that didn't cover the 2 drink fee. Your gonna be friendly with the people near u. We sat next to two people who seemed to be on a first date and he was young she was much older and it was not going well. waiting for the show to begin we could over hear first date questions and ya let's just say it didn't seem to go well. The show was a lot of fun Rachel and Chris did amazing job and I do need to come back more Bradley is coming in June gonna have to come see that show. Terrible food, terrible drinks, terrible service. We were really excited about tonight. We knew the expectation was 2 drinks per person. After NO interaction from staff, we got beers from.next door "same venue, different name". We spent $150 on the comedy side. There was 4 of us, so that was a drink each, two meals, plus a couple extra drinks. The wait staff said we didn't have "2 per person" although our tab was 150 and we had multiple drinks and food for our table. This was about 10 min prior to the end of the show. I'm not sure how a server can interrupt our event with this... Apparently 150 isn't enough for 4 people. I would've been fine but to interrupt a live show and complain that we didn't spend enough. Almost every review I have is for excellent service but I thought it necessary to take the time to talk about how terrible this was. I'll never go back and I'll never recommend anyone to go to this show. Everyone around us had a similar terrible experience and I'll never stop telling people who shitty this experience is. My boyfriend and I went for Michael Blaustein tonight. We got there at 7 PM, and as someone in the service industry, I understand delays. However, when every table around us has at least a glass of water and it's been an hour into the show, we still haven't received anything. Our server came over, addressed us briefly to say hello, and mentioned that we were the last table, but didn't offer us any drinks or water. To top it off I am also pregnant, so it would be nice to have at least apologized and gotten us a water for the wait. We were really disappointed with the service. At this point, we didn't even want drinks or food anymore, and we had to ask another server for help, as we were basically ignored. The second server was great, staying on top of our drinks and even making minor price adjustments. But overall, we just wish we could have been helped much sooner, especially considering the price we paid. All in all not worth it, probably would be good if you actually get good service. read more

It's not only comedy shows, there's plenty more activities like Drag brunches, Burlesque shows, etc. I joined their email list a year ago when I moved here where I receive updates weekly about the upcoming events and seem to find a way to end up at Stand Up Live more then most. I can talk about the venue in general, but I want to to reiterate that Ali Wong was amazing! It truly reminded me why I LOVE this place. Sometimes it's a major, super famous headliner, other times it's someone I've never heard of, or amateur night which is on a few Sundays here and there. Either way, the host, the servers, and the atmosphere are ALWAYS welcoming, professional and attentive as it is very important for me to receive my cocktails in a timely manner ;). Suggestions: - Arrive early - with the exception of VIP seating, it's 1st come 1st serve seating. - Check out the menu ahead of time so you can give your server your order as soon as you sit so you're not going to town on your food while the show is peaking :( - Food/Drink minimum requirements - this is fair and makes sense AND if you don't drink, they have some fun and new mocktails so non one will judge you for drinking sparkling water all night (Folks really judge non-drinkers these days) - I'm not in that group, but I practice empathy :). - BRING A JACKET! It is soooo cold in there, every time I go! Outside of all the above, check out their website, sign up for email alerts, and read the rules and expectations and you're guaranteed to have a grand ol' time! My advice if you're planning on going to Stand Up Live? Manage your expectations. I went to Stand up for the first time last night to see Bob the Drag queen. My party and I got there a little over an hour early. There was a small line. We were seated in what I considered very good seats! Super close to the stage at a side view. No complaints. To address the elephant in the room-YES you are packed in like sardines. This is typical for every concert, sports game and movie theaters. Can it get a little tighter than normal? Yes. Is it terrible and not worth the money? No. You have to be slightly more aware of your surroundings when getting up to go the bathroom or leaving. I would suggest trying to go to the restroom prior to the show starting to save yourself the awkwardness. Food and drinks were amazing. Again, the complaints on the prices are a little ridiculous. It's the same thing as a movie theater or sports arena, they will charge you considerably more than what you normally would pay. Our table ordered the pretzels, quesadilla & nachos. Everything was super good. Chicken was a tad bland but expected. Nachos were huge and super yummy, The drinks were great too. I ordered off of the speciality menu ($18.... I know) and got a admit 2 free pass with the drink! Super good deal and very good drink. I also ordered a "Strawberry fields forever", which tasted like a pink drink but with alcohol. I love stand up comedy and we have several great options in Phoenix and as much as I want to support Stand Up Live, it's getting tougher and tougher because their drink prices (on hard alcohol) is simply insane. Wine is fine, beer is too...but $16 for a Moscow Mule??? $14.50 for a single shot of Crowne on the rocks??? ....and on top of that, they don't even list the prices of hard alcohol on their menu, so the shock value alone kills your vibe and spirit (no pun intended). I've been a loyal customer of your club since you opened. I attend shows often. Last night at the Tracy Morgan show, for the first time EVER, I had an experience with one of your employees that likely will make me not attend another show for a long time, if ever again. My friend and I were quite literally reprimanded by one of your door employees who thought she was providing us all the detail, correctly, about the no phone policy for the show. I only asked simple questions in a non-confrontational tone and was yelled at with the answers, like I had broken a law. Her attitude was beyond unacceptable, especially when I only was asking questions to get answers in order to follow the rules. I heard other attendees say the same thing about this employee. She was beyond rude to everyone she encountered and for no reason at all. Absolutely no one was being unkind or confrontational. We were all there to enjoy our St. Paddy's Day with Tracy. We all simply wanted to make sure we knew what to do. All the rest of the staff made up for this employee's terrible representation of your club, being their usual helpful and happy selves, just like I've experienced many shows before. Maybe this employee was having an off night and isn't normally a crazy person. Maybe she drank too much green beer prior to her shift. Either way, if it wasn't for the great show that Tracy put on and the other very-nice staff, it could have ruined our night. But, we don't let people do that to us, ever. I did however feel compelled to post, since I know that's maybe the only way it will be known that this employee was harassing your customers. I appreciate your time to read my post and hope you'll acknowledge that this was a clear customer service issue that can be corrected for future shows. Attended 11 March 2023 for the Michael Blackson show. He's not funny as in he didn't have a comedic set he just has silly antics (facial expressions, hand gestures, dance moves). Wouldn't recommend. As for the actual venue...trash. There's a two drink minimum with no prices on the menu and no mention of any soda. My husband and I don't drink so they make sure to punish you for this. I asked for cranberry juice and was told they were out, thats a damn lie. So when I stated we need non alcoholic I was point to two drinks that were ten dollars each. I was then told they had bottled water. I asked for four of those. IT CAME OUT TO 31.00 DOLLARS. It was Liquid Death canned water for $7.50 a can. You can buy it for $1.41 per 12 pack. The Red Bull is less expensive. That type of deceit will never get my money or patronage again. read more

This rating is based on processes and no reflection of the staff. They are extremely accommodating and kind. Currently the process is everyone lines up waiting to enter the venue which is a common practice for comedy clubs however There is no longer a separate line for VIP. And once lined up someone comes and gives you a seating card and checks you in while you are still in this combined general admission line. I'm sure the process is helpful in expediting seating however it is not customer friendly. The VIP line needs to be reimplemented and seating assigned based on customer preference and ticket purchased like they do at Tempe Improv or else there really is no reason to purchase VIP the way this current process is. Not to mention the current process is NOT disability friendly the way everyone is lined up on the stairs. I could of just saved the extra $89 upgrading to VIP because I wasn't interested in a Meet &Greet just a preferential seat. read more

Let's start with Pros: The Chicken Tenders and Fries basket. My Lord this is delicious and one of the best items on the menu. The ranch dusted fries aren't for suckas! The Chicken Quesadillas are scrumptious The wine pours are nice The Seating - Truly, there's no bad seats in the house. Cons: The seating - although there's no bad seat in the house, the seats and tables are entirely too close together to you better believe you're gonna bump your neighbor more than once throughout the show. The Cocktails - Not the best and that completely sucks because there's a 2 drink min per person. Can't get out of that! The Service - is SLOW AS HELL! My goodness! If you can the minute your server comes over to take your drink orders, give them your food orders as well. I've ordered my wine and chicken tender basket at the same time and receive the chicken tenders before getting my wine and water. The Service - CHECK YOU RECEIPT! I've witness the servers charging doubles for single drinks. I assume they may do that to satisfy the 2 drink minimum. I don't think that's a fair practice, especially if the person already ordered a drink before. Special Note: The 2 drink minimum applies to non-alcoholic drinks as well. Good spot to check out Comedy. Last show I saw was Deon Cole. The venue gets packed, literally every seat. They smash you in as close as possible to eachother so they cam fit as many ppl possible. Came here because my birthday plans got rescheduled and I wanted something fun to do on a Friday night. The tickets were very reasonably priced at $20 or so, so I gave it a try. Based on the host and the line up, it seems they pick quality acts. The headliner appears on SNL and the opening act was funny as well. Seating is first come, first served, so get there early. Also, be prepared to sit literally, elbow to elbow with those around you. Imagine school cafeteria tables with individual seats. That's how close you will be. There is a two drink minimum, but that includes non alcoholic drinks. I'm not sure we made that minimum, but we weren't penalized either. I ordered food. They parter with the bar/restaurant next door so the food was decent. The servers come around throughout the show to take drink and food orders. This did not get in the way if the show at all. Pro tip: they do validate parking, just make sure you are in the correct garage. read more

Saturday was the first time I have been to Stand Up Live, and to be honest I was kind of expecting one of those stand up comedy clubs with a hundred high top tables crammed into a super small space. Upon entering I was extremely surprised to see that the joint was very large, almost cavernous, with plenty of tables set apart from each other so you weren't craning your next around the guy in front of you to see the stage. The staff was attentive without being obtrusive, and the vibe of the place was very pleasant. We saw a 3:00 show, so the crowd was sober and there wasn't any heckling going on or idiot drunks distracting from the comedians routine. Brad Williams was an absolute riot! Not for everybody to be sure, but he and the Big Fluffy are the only comics I will go out and see in person. Tickets were crazy reasonable with a two drink minimum so it wasn't a super expensive way to spend a Saturday, but it was one I won't soon forget. read more

I just recently visited Stand Up Live to see one of my favorite comedians with a large group of friends. This was a special event so we had the options of either general admission ($35) or VIP($75). Because this was one of my all time favs, I had to spend the extra on VIP. We arrived at the event two hours early and decided to hang out at Copper Blues next door and share a few appetizers. Already a line for general admission had started! Luckily my husband and I had VIP and there was not a line just yet. Thirty minutes prior to the show we started waiting in the VIP line, yes, there is a VIP line as well (first come first serve for seating). This line was right outside of the entrance, causing much mess and confusion when the first show exited. With all the comedians gear on sale, this caused even more of a traffic jam. Although there was a lot happening before entering the venue, once we were in everything went well. The tables are very close together, you sit across from your guest and there is a two drink minimum. The service was pretty quick and there was a lot of wait staff. The show was fantastic and for my specific show I was able to meet the comedian after and take a photo! I rated this venue 4/5 stars because I think there is opportunity around organization. Throughout the evening I always felt like I was in the way, or answering other visitor's question with, "I'm not sure?" This was a very busy night which may have caused some confusion. While we were waiting in line, it felt like organized chaos (both before show and meeting the comedian), but overall, I will say, I definitely enjoyed myself and would come back. read more

This was my first time at a true comedy club and I'm not sure how I felt about it. The show itself was great, the overall experience was average, and the venue had some hits and some misses. It's pretty standard for comedy clubs to have a two drink minimum so prepare for that when you arrive. Basic bottled beer is $8 and soda is about $6. Fancy non alcoholic beverages are $13 or so and of course your cocktails go up from there. Two of us had a mix of beer and non alcoholic drinks and had a $37 tab. Parking in the garage below was easy, but I would recommend arriving earlier as spots definitely go quickly. They handed us a validation sticker on our way out of the venue so it was free (first 3 hours) which was a plus. We had our IDs checked and tickets scanned quickly. Soon after we were seated with two other groups of two. The guy showing us to our seats just threw some menus down and walked off but that's fine, we can assume we are supposed to sit in the empty chairs. We ended up on the end of a long series of tables towards the back. They sure cram you in here. I get you want to maximize profit but it was uncomfortable. I feel bad for the servers trying to squeeze in and out. It was also pretty damn hot inside despite their best efforts. Our server was nice enough, she handled our drinks fine and delivered the check about 15-20 mins before the show ended. They didn't take our phones at this show but there is no phone usage or video/photos allowed. They had security/staff making the rounds and keeping an eye out one the show started. The restrooms were pretty nice though, they are located outside of the main doors towards cooper blues. Would I return? I don't know. The show was funny but the set up is less than ideal. I rather stand than be crammed in like we were. There were no glaring issues with our experience but it wasn't making me want to see more comedy either. read more

Very unorganized you have about literally 6 inches between you and the table next you packed in like sardines. The 16$ mixed drinks are absolutely trash if you are looking for a good venue and drinks this isn't it. Go have some drinks next door if you want to sit in this subpar comedy venue slow to non existent service over priced drinks and the tickets are 25+ plus tax plus service fees just a heads up. Stand up live management do better this is just sad. Look at all the other reviews of this establishment before coming it's really not worth it. read more

This was my first time at Stand Up Live in downtown Phoenix where I saw JP Sears. I think the issue that upset me the most was the parking situation. Admittedly, I expected it to be less than ideal since it's downtown Phoenix. I parked in the parking garage directly under the venue. Indications as to where we were allowed to park was very vague. There were a lot of confused people looking for spots to park. Anticipating the parking issue and not knowing how busy it was going to be, I got to the show 45 minutes early. I was seated immediately toward the back right side of the stage. Seating was pretty cramped, which I'm not a huge fan of, but I get it. It's a 2-drink minimum, so be prepared to spend $8.75 for a bottle of Corona if that's something you like. I ordered the pretzel with cheese sauce. The pretzel was hot and soft - PERFECT. The cheese sauce was excellent as well! The service was just okay. I felt that I had to wait a little too long to place another order. The show was great and I had a good time. Getting out of the parking garage was a complete disaster. There were cars lined up from every direction. Eventually, staff arrived to direct some drivers to another exit. That has got to be one of the worst parking garages I've ever experienced. Based on the venue itself, I'd probably return. The parking headache however, would be a big deterrent and I may consider alternate travel to this venue in the future. read more

I went solo on the 6th of February to see Jackie Schimmel for the "Bitch Bible Tour Live." I purchased my ticket online and printed it at home, which was needed because you need to be scanned in and then right wrist marked for the event. I immediately took a left to use the restroom and then was seated in the front row of the mezzanine. This was perfect because I was higher than the people on the floor and had an unobstructed view of the stage. Many reviews talked about being on top of your neighbor - they were not wrong. I was on the end so I felt like I had plenty of space, but the dinner patrons on the floor level were elbow to elbow and back to back with one another. Did not look comfortable. Food - I didn't eat here but the portions did look reasonably sharable Drinks - 2 drink minimum inside the show is required. I ordered two of the Sober Sally ($10 each) because the menu states that if you are the DD, you are able to get two free tickets for a future show. The waitress didn't provide me with anything, so I sent a photo of my receipt to customer service and am still waiting to hear back. Parking - I was able to find metered street parking, but also didn't read the website clearly when it said "validated parking available in lot underneath for 3 hours" so I will look into this for future events After the show - since it is connected to a bar, I wandered over and listened to a live band play, and they were really good. I didn't stay long but I did observe an extensive draught beer selection as well as a smaller bar on the outside patio. I will come back here, as the event line-ups are pretty impressive in my opinion and will be sure to get my parking for free. GO! This Comedy Club was sooo fun! The Comedians who performed the night we went, were hilarious___my sober faced (X Marine) man who rarely laughs__was in TEARS, "howling with laughter" Beware! If you decide to purchase the "V.I.P" tickets you may be seated VERY close proximity to the stage__within "eye-contact range" of the performing comedian ; who may unexpectedly use YOU as convenient quick "show material." The mandatory (2) drinks are well worth the price (generous alcohol content) I was quite surprised, the food was actually very good, as well as, the service. This was our impromptu "date night" and it was a wonderful evening laughing, uncontrollably with my "significant other." read more

The last few times I've been here it seems like there's someone in the audience that wants to be loud and obnoxious until the comedian will notice them. One lady got so Obnoxious trying to get Cedric the Entertainer's attention that management asked her to leave. But the show was still unpleasant because so many guests were talking, having conversations within their groups, not really showing interest in the show at all. Weird. But management can only babysit so much. We ordered some appetizers, which aren't the greatest, but fully aware we were not at a 4 or 5 star restaurant. When the server messed up our order he acted completely oblivious and didn't seem to mind since he was gonna charge us for it anyway. When I asked the server to bring the manager to my table, he came a few minutes later already holding a new printed receipt without the charge on it. Obviously without even asking the server knew why i was asking for the manager. Because of the noise level from the audience, we left the show early. Cedric was probably awesome but some of his fans are rude and inconsiderate. They do get some pretty good comics touring here, and there are enjoyable things about going to stand up in a smaller, more intimate setting. Stand Up Live offers a lot of hilarious stand up acts such as Bill Burr, Dave Attell and Anthony Jeselnik. Located at Cityscape, doors open a few hours before the show and you can dine there for dinner courtesy of their restaurant Copper Blues. The prices for the food and drinks are high but that's to be expected of comedy clubs. Note that there is a 2 drink minimum. I wish it were a 2 item minimum instead because I'm more apt to get a drink and something to eat rather than 2 drinks. Unless you call ahead and get upgraded/seating, it's first come first serve. We got here 30 minutes before the sold-out Anthony Jeselnik show on Saturday and ended up at a table the second furthest from the back. Visibility there was decent, and if you are unable to see the stage they do have TV screens above so you can see the live footage. I don't think they could pack in more seats if they tried! You will be sandwiched in with other people as close as it is legally possible so throw your notions of personal space out the door haha. Food is your typical bar food, with sandwiches, burgers, and various munchies such as pretzels, nachos and wings. If you are having a dry night, they offer Coke products and for $13.95 you can get the unlimited soda which satisfies the 2 drink minimum requirement. I tried some of the burger and fries. The burger was a decent size and tasted alright. The fries were lightly crispy and hot. Is it $14 good? Well no, but everything here's a bit higher priced than normal anyways. Service was great. Our server was really on top of things and was quick to refill our drinks to make sure we got as close to our $14 worth of soda as possible. Overall, don't expect too much from the food value-wise and avoid this place if you get claustrophobia but if you don't mind either then the shows here are really good! read more

Came down here last weekend to see one of my all time favorites......Dave Attell! We parked in a lot pretty close to 2nd street and walked on over. We got there a little bit late (Show started at 9:30pm and we arrived right about then, if not a few minutes after.) and were seated right on the stage. Literally rested my arm right on the stage. That could be good, or bad. Turned out it was fine. There was a semi awkward moment between the host/MC and our group and he started talking to us asking questions during his routine. Thankfully it only lasted like 2 questions and it was time to move on. Sometimes, if you are up front, you are fair game to be made fun of all night. I am happy to say that we were not! Anyways..........2 drink minimum (I had water...Fiji waters..I think they were $6.00 each? My friend picked up the drink tab...thank you Jocelyn!) and tickets were $35.00 after the service fees etc. Dave Attell- Always loved the dude going back to Skanks for the Memories, Insomniac, his comedy specials etc. Always funny! He quit drinking a few years back due to some health issues, but it did not affect his ability to be funny. He does look very old and skinny now though. I hope he is ok. Anyways....he performed for almost an hour and had the crowd laughing pretty hard for the most part. Maybe not as entertaining or funny as his Skanks for the Memories CD (An ALL TIME CLASSIC btw!), but he is still a funny son of a bitch! Had a chance to grab a picture with him after the show, too! This place has a self serve validation machine for parking which was awesome! Right after the show, as we were walking down the stairs, the Viva Phoenix Music Fest was wrapping up and we stopped and heard Wyclef Jean perform 2 songs. Even though there was a chain link fence, the sidewalk was elevated and you could easily see him and we were only about 30 feet away. It was a pretty neat ending to a great night out. Came here for the Barbie brunch a few weeks ago and it was genuinely the worst service I've had in the Valley. Our waiter Scott should consider finding literally any other profession. It took him 45 minutes just to bring us water, over an hour to get one plate of chicken nachos--which arrived WITHOUT any chicken on them--and then he held on to our credit cards for another 45 minutes. All we wanted to do was leave after 3 hours of the worst service ever and we couldn't because he took our cards and was nowhere to be seen. Truly disastrous and pathetic service, please don't make the same mistake I did and bother coming here. The sister location CB Live is great and has their sh!t together, but Stand Up Live should be shut down. read more
