Shandrica has been styling my hair for at least 4-5 years and I love her and this salon. Staff/assistants are helpful and friendly. Environment is professional but fun. They are busy but still always very accommodating. Shandrica is great at listening and clearly talking to you about your hair goals. Brie Baker is a wonderful stylist. I have seen her on multiple occasions now for cuts and colors after struggling to find a decent stylist in the area. She gently suggested to me how to properly treat my hair in a way that didn't sound like the usual hair-stylist-lecture. I used to dye my hair at home but she has saved me from the horrors I was doing to myself. My hair feels so much healthier now that I've started seeing her. She is quirky and fun to talk to, and I've always felt like she's actually listening. She has a genuine concern for your needs and wants you to leave the salon looking and feeling your best. Absolutely THE BEST foil & haircut I've ever had! Alyssa was absolute perfection. She listened to my requests upfront and walked me through her styling process before we got started. I was immediately confident in her abilities, and I couldn't have asked for a better outcome. I will definitely be going back to her! Charina did my hair, and she was amazing. I went in not really having a plan on what I wanted except to go lighter and a cut. I showed her a picture of what my hair used to look like and the color I liked. And she went from there. Asking lots of questions and sharing what she was doing along the way. She was super sweet. I am so glad I made the switch and scheduled an appointment with Stan Parente. He really understands hair and color. I came in with highlights that were not the most flattering and he immediately understood the look I was going for. I told him I wanted caramel highlights and a textured semi-bob and he not only gave me beautiful highlights but cut my hair in such a flattering way that makes it so easy to style. When I walked in it was warm and inviting but I wasted $140!!! I was supposed to get a partial balayage with Brie but I got literally 2 small pieces of highlights and the next day was not visible at all. She was kind of unsure after she was done herself and was convincing me more that it showed up .I couldn't even tell if I got my hair done and people didn't even tell anything was different. I could've bleached 2 small pieces in my hair myself for $10!!!! So disappointed . Even though this was last month I want a refund or redo!!! read more

I just moved to the Maple Valley area from California. The biggest issue is finding Hair and Nail salons that can deliver what you expect. When you move it is a trial and error till you find the right place and person. I needed hair color, extensions moved and a trim. After reading reviews and making a few phone calls I selected the Stan Parente Salon. I had no recommendations so when I called and spoke to Gabrae (a sweetheart) and explained what I needed she put me with Lauren. I could not be happier. Lauren took the time to check my hair make some recommendations to blend the color better than it had been. She also moved my extensions back where they belonged. I usually put new extensions in and move them twice before replacing them again. Most shops I called would not move the product if they had not put them in. I had my hair done here for the first time today. My stylist, Carly, was great. My bleach and tone came out perfect. She was even able to correct the yellow/orange I had left over from a previous stylist. If this review was for Carly alone, it would be 5 stars. However, reception has left a pretty bad taste in my mouth. I originally sent an email to the front desk manager that went unanswered long enough that I just decided to call a couple days later. When I called, I had two questions to ask before I completed booking my appointment. 1- Who is the best stylist for blondes? 2- Can you do a Brazilian Blowout with extensions? Both reasonable questions to ask and neither took a lengthy explanation, so I'm not sure why the receptionist sounded so irritated and inconvenienced. A few days later when I came into the salon for my appointment, I was not even acknowledged while standing at the front desk. The receptionist was on the phone and completely avoided eye contact with me until after she was done. I didn't expect her to drop the call and talk to me, but a smile or a wave just to acknowledge my presence would have been nice. Reception failed to include Olaplex in my booking even though I specifically asked for it when I made my appointment. It's a good thing Carly thought to ask me about Olaplex on her own, otherwise it would have went undone. Upon check out, it wasn't much better. I'm used to the receptionist at bare minimum asking to book out my next appointment. The receptionist here only asked me to fill out a new client form and told me what my total for the day was. No 'how was your service' or 'thanks for coming in' or anything. I will keep coming back because Carly did amazing and at the end of the day the hair is what's important. read more

I have been going to this salon ever since I moved here, over two years. Although I have always been happy with my cut and color, I am horrified by my last experience and will never return. During simple chit chat, I inquired my stylists if she cleaned the brushes after each client. She looked at my like I was crazy. "No!" She exclaimed. I pull chunks of hair out, but only sanitize at the end of the day. When I requested a clean brush, she rolled her eyes and attempted to find a clean brush with other stylists staring at me. No go. Not one unused, clean brush in the place , and it was only noon. Not only is this disgusting, it is illegal, unsanitary , and not up to code, I looked it up. I love the salon, so have not called health board yet, but I know people. So the next time your hair is being brushed at this salon, think of the person who sat before you who may have had dandruff, lice, bed bugs, or MRSA. Hope your hair looks great!! read more

I saw Stan. He spent just a few minutes cutting my hair, did not trim my bangs at all, and it cost me $80! Yes, I should have asked the price first but most salons seem to average $50-$60 so I couldn't imagine he would charge more. Wrong! The cut is just OK, worth maybe $40 - not $80. I'll give the salon another try and go back, but I'll request someone less expensive. Honestly, $80 + 20% tip is insane for a trim (because it basically was a trim, not a full cut). read more

I left with the best haircut/ balayage I've had yet, as well as helpful info on products and techniques to keep up the style and give my hair volume (I'm somewhat clueless in the hair styling department). My experience here has always been stellar. I can't say enough about Kristy! I am only in town a couple times a year and I schedule my cuts around my visits because she does it best. She asks the right questions, listens, and asks more, so that she understands what you want. And she delivers! I have a hairstylist that *almost* gets it at home, but I am always happier when Ieave Kristy's chair. Most recently I saw Shandrica, I was impressed with her consultation, not just looking to just "do my hair" but to understand what I like, don't like, and how she can make my hair color better than it already was. It was surprising to sit down and have someone want to improve what I already had, so many times I have been to other salons where they just see I am blonde, and just slap on even more blonde! Zoe is a miracle worker! After a horrible dye job going from dark brown to blonde with my previous colorist (from another salon) left me with a brassy, fake look. I came into see Zoe after a recommendation from my sister. I was nervous because I didn't want to damage my hair further or leave with a different problem. Zoe met and surpassed my expectations. She gave me the more natural blonde I had hoped for. She was so meticulous and wanted to make sure it was as good as it could be, all the while being honest and upfront on how this will be a process to reverse the bad color job. She even set forth a plan for what she will do next to get me even closer to what I want. Coloring hair is a tricky process and you can't just change colors to get what you want i.e. some natural colors take on more red, gold, ash, etc. She explained this and I appreciated her honesty. Went to shandrica twice, great service but not worth the money. She cut my hair but couldn't blend the end the way I normally get it cut. Then my second visit she died my hair to my natural color (light ash brown) but it ended up black! Feel like I wasted my money twice even though she acted very professional and seemed to know what she was doing. read more
