Stagecoach Coffee is the only actual cage in town and they roast their own beans. I have yet to buy their beans, but I do drink a lot of their brews at school, which I only find so-so. It may be how they brew it. In terms of the plain latte, I have definitely had better. Sorry to say it, but Starbucks actually has a better latte. I was really pulling for Stagecoach because I am a big supporter of local and independent roasters. The latte is overly bitter and a bit rough. I have to add sugar and sometimes a bit of milk into it. You are actually better off here getting a flavored drink, either through syrup shots (monin, chai) or powder form (matcha). They also have a very good list of smoothies. This is where their drinks shine. They also have a good list of breakfast sandwiches! The staff are friendly, the place has a lot of seating, but it tends to be very busy, so there are times where you won't be able to find a seat. They have plenty of power outlets and Stagecoach is actually a pretty good place to sit and do work. There is also an outdoor patio. read more

If service is important, don't go on a Tuesday night when a young barista tells you at 8pm, they're closing at 9pm. Then right at 9pm, tells you it's time to go. Literally, then says, "I told you we were closing at 9," and proceeds to have a bunch (and I mean a BUNCH) of friends come in, sit in the corner, and get seriously loud. Maybe she's a young entrepreneur and owns the place, but it was seriously off putting. We sat at a table right in front of the case and there was no one in when our beverages were finished and when she said, "They're ready," my date stood to take them and she said rather rudely, "You can pick them up at the end of the counter." OK, fine. She's got a system in place. I actually had not finished my coffee and had no problem vacating at the appointed time, but wow on saying you had to close up, but having a group of friends come in right at closing to sit. She was all cleaned up and ready to go and I spoke with my date for about twenty minutes after this time in front where I was parked. No one left or got up from the table. She didn't lock up the coffee shop either. As far as coffee goes, I tried the Skinny Divinity. It tasted like a plain latte although the board had a lot of "stuff" going on with the recipe. I like plain lattes, but didn't expect one. It was bitter, which wasn't expected, but what can you do? This is someone who obviously just doesn't care about product or customer service. UPDATE: The owner is now defending the employee who clearly lied about what went on that night or he just doesn't care. Either way, they were NOT customers who came in and wouldn't leave. They came IN at closing and were friends she had visiting. Again, it was about the attitude and double standard. read more

A woman who was not wearing a mask standing in a long line, closer that 6 feet apart, was asked by another customer if she would put on a mask that was provided & she refused. I drink multiple iced coffees a day so I was happy that Cooperstown had a place right in town where I could get my fix while we were visiting. We had a 4 day trip to Cooperstown and we came here three days in a row. If we had found this place on the first day, it would have been all four. As I said, I am obsessed with iced coffee and they have some very good iced coffee. My boyfriend is an iced tea drinker and said it was very good. Some other things we had there were their breakfast sandwiches which were very good. We also had the Knudsen caramels that they have for sale on the counter and the banana bread. The banana bread was good, but no different than most other banana breads. The caramels were excellent, if a little steep at .75/caramel. We bought a lot of them though because they were so good. Now on the last day of vacation I veered from my usual iced coffee and tried the iced toffee coffee. I love toffee and I love coffee, so I figured it had to be good. It was amazing. This is definitely a vacation drink and not something you get all the time because it is literally made with fudge, toffee, coffee, and then topped with whipped cream. Not fudge flavoring, legit fudge pumped into my cup. My boyfriend called the drink "the decadence". They should probably consider adopting the name change. It was sooo good, but something you couldn't drink everyday. All in all, a really nice local coffee shop with great coffee and good food. We really loved all the seating and the outside options and you could tell that a lot of regulars came in as the staff knew a lot of customers by name. This is 4 stars by default, by being the only coffee joint in Cooperstown. Yes, you read that right, there's not even a Starbucks. I'm sure it's some municipal code banning chains. Fortunately Stagecoach does coffee pretty decently. They purport to roast their own beans weekly. Plenty of sitting space, it seems to be a meeting spot for the locals on the weekends (because it's been pretty packed whenever I've gone on Saturday). Nice place to get a quality caffeine jolt while reading your book. Free wifi, no password needed. read more

I chose Stagecoach due to its close proximity and great reviews. It's a quaint, cozy shop with a friendly vibe. The staff was extremely pleasant and attentive. They roast their beans right there so it smelled incredible. I initially ordered a Caramel Macchiato however I could get past the first couple sips. It was REALLY sweet. Like, a Frappuccino sweet... Wasn't expecting that. I decided to switch it up and order their houeblend coffee with vanilla. It was pretty watered down and bland. Thus my four star review. If it wasn't for the outstanding people and service I wouldn't have been a fan at all. I think it just might have been an off day. I'd certainly go back and try again. read more

I recommend the chocolate croissants and the the huge chocolate chips cookies ... although I do love the giant rice crispy treats ! and they make super fresh salads and sandwiches! they also have a coffee milkshake that they make with espresso and coffee ice cream! its A-MAZ-ING ! We stopped here after visiting the baseball museum. They have an awesome selection of hot and cold coffees, teas, and food. There's plenty of seating (it was busy when we visited) and the line moves quickly. The vibe was relaxed and they are family friendly. Restrooms are clean too! Thank goodness that Stagecoach Coffee exists in Cooperstown. After our day at the HOF, we were all tired...especially this guy who was in charge of driving back to NYC. After asking a local expert, we trekked over here where I got myself the biggest pumpkin spice latte that they can make. Although they stopped serving food by that time, they still had ice cream for those who didn't want any caffeine. The latte def hit the spot and I did indeed manage to make it back to NYC without a hitch. The ladies at Stagecoach were super helpful esp since the pumpkin latte wasn't even on their menu at the time. I inquired about it because they were having a pumpkin festival a few days away. I think this is the only coffee shop in town so make sure to bookmark this place if you are coming to the HOF. read more

Stagecoach coffee was cute and the coffee was good. It's definitely old, had some charm to it you know, I just wish they had filled up their flavored coffee beans and maybe displayed them a little bit better because if they had, I would definitely have purchased some. They had a display of unflavored coffee beans with grinders in the back but their jars of flavored beans were nearing the bottom of the jar, I just wasn't sure how fresh they were. They had a nice selection of non-dairy milk including soy, almond and coconut. To be honest their baked goods didn't tempt me, they didn't look too appealing, which was good in the long run but I wouldn't come back here for baked goods. I liked that they had outdoor seating as well as additional seating in the far back of the cafe. My boyfriend got this caramel frappuccino type drink, which he really enjoyed. I stuck with an iced coffee and again was pleased. I would come back here for a cup if I'm in the area, as it's conveniently located in the village. read more

It's definitely a local owned, local used coffee shoppe accompanied by the heartwarming friendly kind of staff that probably know everyone's names (except for us foreigners of course). The cappuccino was decent, but this Italiana is kind of picky with her espresso... The bagel concoction was pretty creative, and definitely tasty. Kind of a mess to eat, but definitely the fuel we needed for our drive. Didn't try any of the baked goods but nothing stood out to me. Great (and only?) coffee shop in Cooperstown, NY. The coffee is quite good, the food is healthy and tasty, and they offer free wifi. They have a nice variety of hot and cold drinks, and ample seating both indoors and out. Plus you can get a pound of your favourite coffee ground, or buy whole bean. One thing to note; even though they are open until 9 p.m. they stop serving food at 4 p.m. Since I spend most of my time here working, I'm going to have to take away a star because of the incredibly slow wifi connection. I appreciate the fact that it is free, but it's so slow, it hinders my ability to get some things done. Overall though, this is a great place. read more

Stagecoach has been the only go-to shop in Cooperstown since I've been coming to Cooperstown as a child. It is amazing! They've improved for years and now have an extensive breakfast sandwich menu. Great coffee! Ambitious offerings and homey vibe. It's a must stop on a chilly morning in Cooperstown. It's a block or two from the Hall. the entrance is deceptive so don't be discouraged if it seems too small. There's another room that opens up around the corner from where the line ends. it isn't a big space but there's more seating than you suspect upon entering. The red velvet biscotti tasted like it was made the day before and was excellent! Two of the staff didn't know the singular form of biscotti is 'biscotto' which is a minor offense. :) When asked what I had I said I have a 'coffee and a biscotto', they corrected me to say biscotti. This place is a real find. I live in Oneonta so I have not sampled their breakfasts yet, but I am in Cooperstown for doctor's appointments fairly frequently and I always stop for lunch. They have everything from delicious deli sandwiches to spectacular grilled panini; some of the menu is geared toward vegetarian and vegan tastes but they offer traditional deli meats as well. All ingredients are fresh, the portions are generous, and the food is absolutely delicious. Oh and the coffee. I have issues with caffeine so I can only drink decaf from lunchtime on, so I have tried their house blend decaf and their Colombian Supremo decaf and I have NEVER in my life tasted decaf that I could not tell from regular coffee; it is, in a word, spectacular. Pay a visit to the Stagecoach; it is a real treat. read more

on the recommendation of someone at the White House Inn, I grabbed a good cappuccino here after making the drive up to Cooperstown. needed my afternoon KAWFEE fix after making the long drive! great little coffee shop to grab a cup and relax. some food options too, mostly breakfast, baked goods, and sandwiches. I didn't sample the food, but the smells were positively glorious. my cappuccino was delicious and quickly made. free wifi and a clean bathroom. I called to ask about delivery and was told they only do it for catering orders. I explained that my cousin is in cooperstown hospital and we were looking for a place to deliver her breakfast and a decent cup of coffee and asked if she knew of any place that could help us out. The lady spoke with her manager and then got back on the line and said they would deliver it to her. Their kindness to the situation is amazing and so appreciated as we are over an hour away. The coffee shop was renovated, and added more seating. Ironically, the new seating is next to what appears to be the roaster, which of course, is not soundproofed. The grinders for people buying fresh coffee were moved, but again, still no soundproofing. Place continues to be nice, but routinely it is quieter outside in the street then inside. My girlfriend and I continue to go there, albeit only because Stewarts is a much longer walk away. read more
