What a lovely inn! The pictures of the rooms are accurate - but what they can't depict is how clean everything is. Not a speck of dust is detectable anywhere. When we checked in, we were greeted warmly. I really appreciated help with my bag up the somewhat steep & narrow stairs. (No elevator - so keep that in mind if you come to stay.) Bed was firm, bathrooms were spotless, extra pillows in the closet are sealed in plastic, bedding all super fresh. Phone chargers next to the bed & sofa(bed) & solid wifi made this quaint & cozy room connected. Full length mirror, hair dryer & an iron & ironing board were much appreciated. Our 2nd floor room was very quiet & the blackout drapes on all windows plus the split ac & heat controls made everything adjustable for a perfectly cavelike environment. Hello solid night's sleep! A small fridge in the room had little Coffeemate creamers for the in-room coffee maker, but there is always a coffee & tea station downstairs too. The town is literally across the street! The Baseball Hall of Fame & the Farmers Museum are both a block & a half away, and in between are several spirits shops, baseball stores, restaurants and a bakery. Breakfast is 8am-9:30am & it is a nice offering: Oatmeal packets, cold cereals & milk Sausage & pepper frittata - custardy! Corn muffins (a must try!) Yogurts Fruit salad Heidelberg wheat, raisin & sunflower seed bread slices (& toaster) Coffee & tea station Orange, ruby grapefruit & cranberry juices Jams, butter, & condiments If you're coming to town & prefer a close stay to the sights here, & a smaller inn experience, this is the place to be! The staff here was very helpful and amicable, the breakfast was delicious, rocking on the rocker chairs outside was relaxing but the room itself was very uncomfortable. The bed itself seemed to just a box spring with a small mattress topper and the A/C didn't work very well. When we entered the room, it had promise but it was a disappointment sadly. read more

For this year's Father's Day gift Wifey got us a two-night stay here at The Inn at Cooperstown so we could FINALLY get to the Baseball Hall of Fame. It's been a long time since we stayed at a Bed and Breakfast and this place is beautiful. Nice sized room with beautiful decor and very clean. Bathroom was a decent size, but the water pressures the shower could have been stronger for my liking. Plenty of parking at The Inn and one of the great things was that on the day of checkout you can leave your car there and do your thing in Cooperstown. The breakfast here isn't like a restaurant, but there is a nice selection of fruits and bread, a quiche-like baked egg dish, fresh juices, coffee and tea and muffins. It was all quite delicious. One of the things I liked most about the stay was the long row of rocking chairs on the front porch. Sitting there after dinner with Wifey and some good wine was a great way to end the evening. The Inn is pretty pricey, but it's not often we get to do something like this so it was worth it. read more

We did an Ultimate Baseball Fan package which included some intimate behind the scenes looks with the Hall of Fame. The capper was staying here! According to their site, the package included a two night stay at the Inn. They were originally all booked for the second night...I think due to weather issues (it ended up SNOWING!), many people canceled. So we not only stayed the full time, we added an extra day. I've stayed at one other Inn nearby, and this was bigger and provided about the same level of hospitality. This a town based on just that: hospitality. So the Inn at Cooperstown gets a lot of the little things right. The staff (including the owner) are not afraid to get their hands dirty. There are two flights of stairs to get the very top floor: they're not bad to climb. Also free on site parking. Always a plus. And walkable to the main attraction: the baseball hall of fame! (It's also close to the Otesaga Resort grounds, mere feet from the Lake and a short drive to the Fenimore and Farmers museums...also close to the breweries!) My only gripe was with the breakfast. While the choices were better than just muffins and croissants (though they did have fresh baked muffins EVERY morning!), and the coffee was free flowing and great, I was a bit disappointed in their lack of vegetarian options for the hot meal choice. One morning they only served ham and egg cups. If one is a gluten free vegetarian, you would only be able to indulge in the yogurt and fruit. The other days, they had some Veggie frittatas available, which was good. Just a bit of a disappointment, that's all. A bad breakfast can literally ruin my day, but the hospitality and kindness of the staff allowed me to overlook it mostly. They really put on the dog for those of us staying there for the baseball package. I was impressed! By the way - this is a very old school set up. You are better off calling for reservations than setting up online. Also need to check out the old fashioned way by handing your keys over! read more

Given the posts here, we clearly experienced a one-off bad experience. While our room was fine (pictures represent the property), the staff was not congenial. Our 9:30 pm arrival was met by a young woman who had maybe had a terrible day. She was disheveled at best. She wasn't friendly and seemed put out that we'd chosen The Inn for our stay. Throughout our three-night stay, we were not once greeted by staff. I asked to borrow a pen and the desk clerk seemed like I had asked him for the world. The place is absolutely idyllic, sans the people. We found the bakery staff down the street and shop owners as well to be welcoming. My husband and I were mildly annoyed with the small shower's curtain which covered the tiny space well but stuck to our bodies while showering. read more

This was a lovely bed and breakfast for our weekend in Cooperstown. If I come back, I will probably stay here again! Like most B&Bs, each room in the building is different from the others as far as layout and decor goes. Everything had a cozy feel (and maybe more importantly had working heat!). The Inn was not packed during our winter excursion, so we did not bump into that many other guests. The Inn has a social room with board games, a television, and a chess/checkers/backgammon table. They put coffee, tea, and hot cooca out until late in the night as well. The breakfast itself was satisfying, although nothing really stood out enough for me to mention in this review. Location-wise, this B&B was within walking distance of pretty much everything in town. The staff is incredibly friendly and accommodating. All in all, a grade A experience! read more

We've been to Cooperstown many times to visit our son, a brewer at Brewery Ommegang. We decided to go first class this visit, and stayed at the Inn as part of their Bed & Brew package. Very glad we did. The ~140-year old building is in excellent condition, and meticulously maintained. Mrs. I is VERY picky about hotel conditions, and this has to be the first one that ever got the 100% A+ rating, and the "I wouldn't mind living here" comment. Beautifully decorated, clean as can be, and thoroughly modernized in a very inconspicuous manner. Visually, you are living in a different age. The innkeepers, Marc and Sherrie have one goal... 100% customer satisfaction. And for us, they succeeded. The Bed & Brew package is a great deal. Friday evening starts with a "meet and greet", with participants sharing samples of their favorite beer or home brew, along with brewers from Ommegang present to offer feedback. Really breaks the ice. Transportation to Ommegang is provided (no, we did not sing "99 bottles of beer on the wall" on the school bus :) ), so no fear of taking full advantage of the private tasting, and 5-course meal/beer pairings. The Inn is within walking distance of many local attractions. Fortunately, the visit coincided with the Cooperstown Winter Carnival, so a lot of bonus "folksy" activities that did not require driving. Our car stayed untouched in the parking lot for two days. Definitely 5-STAR..... wish we could give more. read more

This is a hotel that's been around since about 1870. I came in town to visit the Baseball Hall of Fame...I'm not really a bed and breakfast guy. Our room was on the third floor. We had to carry our luggage up about five narrow flights of stairs since there was no elevator. The breakfast was good, but it's served in a room where you share large tables with the other people staring there. Making small talk with strangers isn't my thing. I couldn't figure out how to work the TV. It ran on Roku on a crummy internet connection. read more

My husband & I went for the Bed & Brew package for his birthday weekend after several years of thinking about it. So glad we did. The Inn is beautiful, clean, close to downtown & run by friendly, helpful, organized people. We would go back again without hesitation. A small word of warning - this is an old, historic building - it creaks & it's easy to hear noise from the hallway & other rooms. We stayed at the Inn at Cooperstown for three nights in January (during a big snow storm) and it was better than I could have imagined. The inn itself is breathtakingly gorgeous, the staff is incredible, and there is not a single thing we would change! The room was lovey and a good size with a super comfy bed. Breakfast was tasty and the staff was very friendly and attentive each morning. On our last night at the inn we were the only two people in the entire place and the staff still treated us like royalty. The inn is so close to everything that we walked everywhere even in several feet of snow. We will definitely be back! read more

This place is absolutely charming. If you want to have a quaint little weekend getaway, this is a top choice. Cooperstown itself embodies the great nature of New England (I know New York is technically a Mid-Atlantic state, but it feels New England). If you choose to come out here, The Inn at Cooperstown is definitely the place to stay. Like a Ye-Olde-Timey Inn, there are no TVs in the rooms, but there is a living/sitting room downstairs where you can commune. There are also games and tea and coffee. In the morning, breakfast is served, and it is GOOD! (I didn't care for the quiche, but LOVED the fresh made muffins!). Everything is very close to the inn. The "business" district is but a stone throw's away. The hostess was VERY nice, and very informative as well! This is a must stay accommadations! read more

If I could give this place 11 stars I would. AMAZING AMAZING AMAZING. My girlfriend and I went on a road trip about a month ago and this was the best place stayed on the trip by far. We reserved the luxury suite a few hours in advance while we were driving through New York State from Niagara Falls. We wanted to see the baseball Hall of Fame and the farmers museum. We were greeted with a smile (staff wears masks but you could tell). The gentleman/owner at the front desk was the first and the only person on the whole trip to ask "How are you" and where we were from which impressed us right off the bat. We arrived at 9 o'clock pm but the manager went out of his way to give us a tour of our suite and the inn property. He also said that if we have any trouble with anything at all during our stay they live on property so don't hesitate to call. The room was clean and came with two beds and two floors, upstairs and downstairs. Each room is individually controlled with an AC and a heat unit. The downstairs bathroom has a Jacuzzi tub. The living room has a couch that has a fireplace and a flatscreen TV. The Bedroom downstairs had a fireplace and a TV on the wall. The room was attached to the bathroom. Breakfast consisted of a choice of fruit a yogurt and a muffin. They also have rocking chairs on the front porch we can eat your breakfast that overlooks the street. You can walk to the baseball Hall of Fame and the farmers museum from the hotel about 15 minutes each way. If we take a trip back to upstate New York we will definitely be staying here again. My wife and I booked the Bed and Brew package as a Christmas/Anniversary present to ourselves. Ommegang tour, tasting and dinner pairing was great, but maybe I should post that over on Ommegangs review page. The inn is an older building but well maintained and updated. I've never really stayed at an historic hotel like this but I found it very cozy, homey and pleasant. The staff and owners were super nice and friendly. Breakfast was simple but good and you can't beat the location if you want to explore Cooperstown. We also heard from another guest that the new multi-room suite is spectacular but that may be a bit over kill for two people unless you really want to splurge. Long story short we loved it and hope to come back some day. read more

My boyfriend and I stayed here last weekend as part of the Special Edition Bed and Brew Package with Brewery Ommegang package. It was my Christmas gift to my boyfriend and he loved it (said it was the best Christmas gift anyone had ever gotten him). The Inn itself is absolutely charming (a word my boyfriend repeatedly used to describe it). It didn't feel like staying at a hotel - it was like staying at a relative's house. Our only real complaint was that the bed was a little hard for us, but everything else about the room was great (especially the shower!). And the rooms do have TV's in them, unlike what some of the older reviews on here mention. As I said, the Inn is charming as all get out and the owners, Marc and Sherrie, really go out of their way to make the experience memorable. (And they're great to chat with, as well.) Also, all of the staff are extremely friendly and knowledgeable about the area. Speaking of the area, the Inn is right in the heart of downtown, making it an easy walk to plenty of restaurants and shops. And it's a nice added bonus that the Inn has a parking lot out back for guests. My boyfriend and I aren't baseball people, so a lot of the town was "lost" on us, but sports fans would love it. The Bed and Brew package was an absolute delight. On Friday night we gathered with the other guests, we all shared beer and everyone mingled together. It was great and we got to sample a lot of great beer. The Ommegang brewery tour on Saturday evening was interesting, but of course the real standouts were the beer tasting, followed by the the incredibly delicious 5 course meal and beer pairing. Because this was the Special Edition package we were able to sample limited edition beers of the past (and upcoming limited editions) that would basically only be available to us as part of this package. It was great having the brewers there to speak about their work, the beer, and basically anything you wanted to ask them about. My boyfriend was smiling ear-to-ear the entire time (and I had a great time as well). All in all, this was a perfect weekend spent at an extremely charming Inn. Beautiful Inn just steps from everything. No need to get in the car to drive as you can walk to dozens of eateries and the baseball hall of fame all in under five minutes. We used the Inn's online form to request info in availability last weekend and it's Tuesday and never heard from them. My husband sent a followup email and left a voicemail and STILL no response. I just called and someone answered and claims they didn't see/hear ANY of those communications and they are booked. Sounds pretty disorganized. Wouldn't try this place again. In response to proprietor's reply: Thanks for your response. Usually doesn't go into spam when you've already corresponded. I double checked there. We didn't get the wrong Inn. The number my husband called and left a voicemail is the same number I called and got a person on the other end. I happened upon the Inn at Cooperstown while looking for a special way to celebrate my baseball fanatic of a husband's 40th birthday. The Inn offers an Ultimate Baseball VIP Experience when you stay with them and we are so happy that we did. The Inn is very charming, comfortable and accomodating. We came with our 2 young children, my in-laws and stayed in their Luxury Suite which was more than enough room for all of us. Sleeping arrangements were perfect and we even had a comfy living room with gas fireplace to hang out in. Every inch was spotless (believe me, I look for these things) - it was just like being at home but you had a yummy breakfast made for you each morning! The entire staff was very helpful and friendly and the owners took the time to see to it that everything was just right while giving you lots of information about this quaint town. And I shouldn't neglect speaking about the VIP Experience at the Hall of Fame. Although I was not in attendance, my husband and his father continue to gush over their experience. Not only is the staff at the Museum extremely knowledgeable and friendly but the "behind the scenes" portion of the experience was fantastic! My husband was able to see many historical artifacts that are not on display in the Hall of Fame. The folks at the Hall of Fame really go out of their way to make sure it is the Ultimate Experience. I would not hesitate to return to the Inn. In fact, I think our experience there has sealed the deal that we will not stay anywhere else when we visit Cooperstown again. P.S. Victorian House now operating as an Inn. Staff is warm, welcoming & accommodating to every need. Large porch with rocking chairs, exceptional buffet breakfast, delicious as well as creative. Bedrooms are charming & clean, public rooms with TV & games as well as hot/cold beverages served at all times. Location can't be beat. Park your car & not use it again until you checkout. First time visit to Cooperstown for a summer weekend stay. The Inn at Cooperstown is in a great location: just a block off of Main Street so you can walk just about everywhere you want to go. B&B's typically are not my first lodging choice as I find them to be too kitschy or the innkeepers too chatty, but this place changed my mind. It's a beautiful property, charming and very quiet all hours of the day ~ and we even had a first floor room and it was still peaceful. The inn staff are not intrusive at all, but very helpful whenever we had a question. We had a classic room that was spacious, clean and well appointed. The bathroom was the right size and very clean, too. I really enjoyed the front porch with the rocking chairs where guests can sit and read or watch the town's activities. They have nice, quiet sitting areas inside as well. We enjoyed the complimentary breakfast the second day of our stay and it was perfect. Everything was homemade including a wonderful sausage/egg casserole and some really good butterscotch muffins (kudos to the chef). It's a gorgeous inn and I wouldn't hesitate to stay here again should I find myself back in Cooperstown. read more

We received a gift certificate to The Inn at Cooperstown from our daughter and decided to do the Bed and Brew tour. We arrived on Friday afternoon and were greeted warmly. My husband was on crutches and Luke Made sure we could get a ground floor room which was so helpful. We were given coupons to a local restaurant Nicolette's which was great. The food and service were great. It was very relaxing after our 5 hour drive. The reception that night was welcoming and made the start to the weekend enjoyable. After a nice breakfast where the staff was super attentive we got to spend time exploring the local area and Baseball Hall of Fame. The town is very quaint and the only downside was the weather was chilly than we would have liked. Saturday evening we were shuttled to the Ommegang Brewery for a tour tasting and an eclectic dinner which paired different beers with each course. Andrew our tour guide was fantastic and very knowledgeable. We had a tasting of 6 different beers and were given a a super cool growler with our favorite beer and a T shirt. Marc and Sherrie who own the Inn at Cooperstown were so welcoming and attentive. I would definitely recommend staying here and doing the tour. read more
