I was pleasantly surprised with this newer lodging establishment in Cooperstown. We had planned on staying a few days but we could only get accommodations at our "favorite" place but not for all the days we wanted to stay *sigh* But I guess we have to have a sense of adventure, and the universe was sending me signals to come here (via social media)...so we picked a...king size...loft? A loft in Cooperstown?! Okay. I'm down. For a place that is very low-to-no frills, I was in love with the set up here. It's right by the old railroad (even a rail car next door!). Even the hallways kind of give an old rail car feel, circa Some Like It Hot (more modern though!). And them loft? I swear it was nicer than my apartment in Manhattan. The TVs: not cheap, modern! Lots of places to charge your phone. WiFi. I know, these seem like most common amenities but you'd be shocked by the amount of Places that don't have them (or have it work well). Also mini fridges in the rooms - even upstairs in the loft where the bunks were! My only "complaint?" The shower stalls were a bit slippery, and I'd recommend using or offering a slip mat. Otherwise they worked well and was great! The beds were so comfy. OMG. They do offer a complimentary continental breakfast. We didn't partake though bc there are SO MANY good places to eat in town lol. But the option is there. So Bob Ross once said there are no mistakes, only happy accidents. And I'm happy to say that by no accident I was able to stay at the Railroad Inn. Cozy little place, well done layout. Awesome!

My group of eight motorcyclists recently stayed at the Railroad Inn while visiting Cooperstown during the height of the 2024 Fall foliage. The Inn is top notch. The rooms are large, clean, and quiet. I cannot say enough about the staff. From booking our large group to welcoming us to checking out, they were friendly, professional, courteous, and accommodating! A quiet, short walk to downtown Cooperstown, this Inn is wonderful. I highly recommend a stay here!

    Christmas at The Railroad Inn!

I recently had the pleasure of staying at the Railroad Inn and it was absolutely perfect! The rooms are decorated tastefully and are very comfortable. The Inn provides coffee, cereal, snacks, bagels and water in their lovely lobby. The location is perfect, in the village yet just a few blocks from Main street. The staff was very helpful and congenial, I highly recommend The Railroad Inn for your next visit to the charming village of Cooperstown NY!

If you love baseball Cooperstown and the hall of fame are major bucket list items. And if you go with family (and taking your kids is the best part!) this is the place to go! There are some lovely bed and breakfast spots within walking distance of the village but none offer the true comfort of this newer spot. We were lucky enough to have a loft room where our 24 year old son could go with us and have his own space/bathroom/privacy. Check out the awesome loft space!! The lofts are much nicer than photos suggest. Comfortable for older kids or a group of boys coming to play in a tournament. Ideal! Quiet spot within easy walk of the action. Room has fridge for snacks (or beer!) and really comfortable beds and awesome hot showers. We had an unforgettable experience and can not recommend this spot enough.

The staff are friendly & hard working providing great customer service. The only reason I'm not giving the Inn a 5 star is due to cleanliness; the carpet is in need of a shampoo and vacuum and the bathroom was not cleaned well; hairs on wall and stains in sink from previous guests, missing lightbulb in floor lamp and a previous guests clothing not removed (missed during a vacuuming?). The decor however is a railroad lovers dream. It's in a peaceful location and has a new bbq area or sit in an Adirondack chair and watch the stream. We will be back.

We were given a room that was small and overlooked the hvac systems. The room was updated but not worth the money.

When we checked in, we were greeted warmly. I really appreciated help with my bag up the somewhat steep & narrow stairs. (No elevator - so keep that in mind if you come to stay.) Bed was firm, bathrooms were spotless, extra pillows in the closet are sealed in plastic, bedding all super fresh. Phone chargers next to the bed & sofa(bed) & solid wifi made this quaint & cozy room connected. Full length mirror, hair dryer & an iron & ironing board were much appreciated. Our 2nd floor room was very quiet & the blackout drapes on all windows plus the split ac & heat controls made everything adjustable for a perfectly cavelike environment. Hello solid night's sleep! A small fridge in the room had little Coffeemate creamers for the in-room coffee maker, but there is always a coffee & tea station downstairs too. The town is literally across the street! The Baseball Hall of Fame & the Farmers Museum are both a block & a half away, and in between are several spirits shops, baseball stores, restaurants and a bakery. Breakfast is 8am-9:30am & it is a nice offering: Oatmeal packets, cold cereals & milk Sausage & pepper frittata - custardy! Corn muffins (a must try!) Yogurts Fruit salad Heidelberg wheat, raisin & sunflower seed bread slices (& toaster) Coffee & tea station Orange, ruby grapefruit & cranberry juices Jams, butter, & condiments If you're coming to town & prefer a close stay to the sights here, & a smaller inn experience, this is the place to be! The inn has a selection of cycling-related accessories to purchase also.

Certain weekends/events in Cooperstown can have Main B&B booked solid without an early reservation. Prices vary per season and the events taking place in town. This B & B is located within walking distance to downtown - leave your car parked at the B & B. Street parking and lot parking is available. I parked on the street many times staying here and had no problem. There are three different bedrooms to rent with your own private bathroom in each room. Bedrooms have hardwood floor with floor rugs. Breakfast is served between 8 and 9am, and Susan is a wonderful cook. I have always enjoyed her dishes. They provide you a front door key to enter the house after "closing" time, and you are also provided a key to your bedroom. This B & B is not handicap accessible - all bedrooms are on the second floor. Stairs wrap around and are only wide enough for those who may need to use crutches or a cane. This is an old Victorian style home, decorated beautifully providing you a warm welcome during your stay in Cooperstown. I have stayed here twice, and I highly recommend the Main Street B & B.

Definitely did not look forward toevery night to try to fall asleep on them. Although the room can sleep 6. There was nowhere for a third person to sit in the living room area or bigger bedroom. A small chair or ottoman would have been nice. End tables or small table that could be moved around also would have been nice. The bigger bedroom only had 1 night table, which was inconvenient as there was nowhere to place eyeglasses or phone anywhere but on the floor by the bed. There were spiders in the window. Even though they were sealed not something you want to see in one's bedroom There were no hooks or a clothing rod. Nowhere to hang clothes. Living Room setup was bad. Lastly, we were told that we're responsible to clean the room in an email they sent the day of our check out. We paid a lot of money for this room and there was no daily room service or cleanup. This should be included with the price instead of telling the guests to clean up before the "cleanup crew comes in.
