We traveled here from Houston during the off season for a trip to the Baseball Hall of Fame. Our flight got in late and we drove in the middle of a snowstorm so we didn't check in until about 2 am. The staff was accommodating and friendly. I called several times to ensure there would be someone to meet us that late. Each time I talked to a real person and there was night staff who got us checked in. The room was spacious enough for my husband and I and the amenities were cozy and the perfect mix of historical and modern. The price was incredible since it was off season (January). They serve a continental breakfast (pastries, cereal, fresh fruit, waffles, coffee, juices, etc.) and that was plenty for us. The hotel is within walking distance to the Hall of Fame, local coffee shops, and restaurants. Some places had closed down for the off season but we knew that ahead of time. The hotel and entire town are adorable and we will definitely be coming back to visit.

When we checked in, we were greeted warmly. I really appreciated help with my bag up the somewhat steep & narrow stairs. (No elevator - so keep that in mind if you come to stay.) Bed was firm, bathrooms were spotless, extra pillows in the closet are sealed in plastic, bedding all super fresh. Phone chargers next to the bed & sofa(bed) & solid wifi made this quaint & cozy room connected. Full length mirror, hair dryer & an iron & ironing board were much appreciated. Our 2nd floor room was very quiet & the blackout drapes on all windows plus the split ac & heat controls made everything adjustable for a perfectly cavelike environment. Hello solid night's sleep! A small fridge in the room had little Coffeemate creamers for the in-room coffee maker, but there is always a coffee & tea station downstairs too. The town is literally across the street! The Baseball Hall of Fame & the Farmers Museum are both a block & a half away, and in between are several spirits shops, baseball stores, restaurants and a bakery. Breakfast is 8am-9:30am & it is a nice offering: Oatmeal packets, cold cereals & milk Sausage & pepper frittata - custardy! Corn muffins (a must try!) Yogurts Fruit salad Heidelberg wheat, raisin & sunflower seed bread slices (& toaster) Coffee & tea station Orange, ruby grapefruit & cranberry juices Jams, butter, & condiments If you're coming to town & prefer a close stay to the sights here, & a smaller inn experience, this is the place to be! The inn has a selection of cycling-related accessories to purchase also.

Certain weekends/events in Cooperstown can have Main B&B booked solid without an early reservation. Prices vary per season and the events taking place in town. This B & B is located within walking distance to downtown - leave your car parked at the B & B. Street parking and lot parking is available. I parked on the street many times staying here and had no problem. There are three different bedrooms to rent with your own private bathroom in each room. Bedrooms have hardwood floor with floor rugs. Breakfast is served between 8 and 9am, and Susan is a wonderful cook. I have always enjoyed her dishes. They provide you a front door key to enter the house after "closing" time, and you are also provided a key to your bedroom. This B & B is not handicap accessible - all bedrooms are on the second floor. Stairs wrap around and are only wide enough for those who may need to use crutches or a cane. This is an old Victorian style home, decorated beautifully providing you a warm welcome during your stay in Cooperstown. I have stayed here twice, and I highly recommend the Main Street B & B.

Definitely did not look forward toevery night to try to fall asleep on them. Although the room can sleep 6. There was nowhere for a third person to sit in the living room area or bigger bedroom. A small chair or ottoman would have been nice. End tables or small table that could be moved around also would have been nice. The bigger bedroom only had 1 night table, which was inconvenient as there was nowhere to place eyeglasses or phone anywhere but on the floor by the bed. There were spiders in the window. Even though they were sealed not something you want to see in one's bedroom There were no hooks or a clothing rod. Nowhere to hang clothes. Living Room setup was bad. The sofa should have been against the wall facing the tv so ones neck isn't strained trying to watch tv Personally, I feel it would have been better to move the sofa where the microwave and fridge are and those could have been moved under or to the side of the tv. Lastly, we were told that we're responsible to clean the room in an email they sent the day of our check out. We paid a lot of money for this room and there was no daily room service or cleanup. This should be included with the price instead of telling the guests to clean up before the "cleanup crew comes in.
