They have the cutest cottages overlooking the lake. All have decks. There is also Adirondack. Chairs in the common area to enjoy the Lake view. Also has two private docks for fishing and swimming and plenty of space to lounge by the lake. Staff was superb absolutely amazing! We will definitely be coming back. read more

4 1/2 stars. Son and I booked this place about a month before our trip to Cooperstown. It is a cool, retro-type hotel. It isn't fancy, but offers spectacular views and access to the lake. When we arrived our room wasn't quite ready, so we asked what was a close place to eat. Jeremy at the front desk directed us to an excellent place just up the road. After spending an hour eating,vee came back and the room still wasn't ready. Jeremy took off from the cost for the inconvenience and we proceeded to hang out in the lobby talking to him about hunting, fishing, and the Cooperstown area. When our rooms were finally ready, we headed to their top level of rooms and settled in. I enjoy "vintage" hotels, but my son is used to modern ones. Needless to say, this place grew on him and it worked for us. We even enjoyed a cigar while overlooking the lake on our last day there. I thought it was a very good deal for the price and it's about a 10 minute ride to downtown Cooperstown, so you're a little ways away from that chaos. Can't beat the views! read more

We stayed here for one night on a Saturday. We can't really say much about it other than the room were clean & friendly staff. It's definitely great for the price we paid. You can walk across to enjoy the lake. Highly recommended if you are planning to stay in the area. read more

I'd give this 5 stars were we not in what had to be the worse room (the sign indicates that it used to be the office). 2 skylights, which meant it was never completely dark even at night. So tiny I had to use my laptop on my lap (novel concept, ha), i.e., no desk. But had we had a better room I would say the Motel was perfect. Great views. Loved the lake. When we first arrived & saw that lake access was ACROSS a HIGHWAY I was appalled, but it's not heavily traveled & quite safe to cross. I once had to wait for 3 cars to pass (& can only assume that was rush hour!). Jeremy at the front desk (did he ever sleep?) was friendly & helpful. We will definitely be back, but will specify a better room! read more

The only day the toilet worked was the first. Noticed loud gurgling when we woke up the second morning. When we used the toilet it immediately overflowed. Spent 10 minutes plunging it and then reported it to management. They said they fix it but we had the same experience the third morning. Thankfully we were leaving. The mattresses were uncomfortable and the blankets looked like something I just found in the way back of in my 91 year old mother's linen closet. The only positive was the great view of the lake. Affordable accommodations within 15 minutes of Cooperstown and 20 minutes of brewery Ommegang. We will definitely return when in the area. Upon arrival we were immediately in awe of the beautiful lake view. Not only is there a view with Adirondack chairs from the motel side, but across the street are two docks for guest use. Three well kept paddle boats are up for grabs to any guest. There are lounge chairs a plenty, a spot for fishing, and a few entry point if you want to take a swim. A close second to the location is the staff. Everyone was professional and friendly, from the front desk to the maintenance. It was their top priority to make every guest feel at home. The room was clean though a little cramped and damp. There is a calming brook on the backside of the rooms that lulled me to sleep every night ( not that I needed it - most relaxing trip in recent memory). Mini fridge in room, cable tv, reasonably comfortable beds. There is coffee in your room or the lounge. Breakfast in town is a bit of a wait, but we found a gem convenience store up the road (mt Wellington) and took their breakfast sandwiches to "our dock" at the Lake View. read more

This was a fabulous little place about 6 miles north of Cooperstown. We arrived around 5pm and the check in was pretty easy. Our room was clean, cozy and comfortable. It was a great evening so we walked across the street and enjoyed the beach on the lake. We were able to cool off by wading in the water and the took out a paddle boat. The next day we were able to drive just 3 miles then take the trolley into town to see the Hall of Fame. The staff was friendly, courteous and helpful. We had a couple of needs (extra towels, etc) and they were prompt to offer assistance. I will definitely head back to this place when we go to the Hall of Fame again!! read more

The woman working the front desk was quick to offer us maps and places to go for dinner. She was very friendly. Rooms are small, but that didnt bother me too much. Very clean. I'm so glad I chose to stay here! It's about 7 miles from Main St. I'll definitely come back to stay here next time I'm up. The staff was helpful providing maps and information. Our room was very clean and had everything we needed. I really enjoyed the cable TV that I'm not used to having - we were mostly very excited that they had AMC so we could watch Breaking Bad. The motel has a deck/dock area on the lake & it was so nice to sit outside and look at the scenery. I wish I could have stayed longer to utilize the swimming/fishing area. read more

This was a quick stay for us as we stopped at the Hall of Fame before driving to Boston. We got in after hours but our key was still ready for us. The room was nice enough and the place was very quiet, which was nice. We got up very, very early to start our drive but the sun was just coming up. Looks like they have a deck on the lake where you can sit and watch the sunrise/sunset. Looks like a pretty good place to spend some time during the summer. read more

My friends and I wanted to come take a day trip to Cooperstown (for baseball hall of fame and Ommegang Brewery). We got there really late at night and left the next morning (from the motel that is) so we didn't need a crazy fancy bed and breakfast to stay at. We booked the room 2 weeks before heading up there and EVERYTHING and I mean EVERYTHING was booked up. Except for Lakeview Motel. That had me feeling a little skeptical. But it was the only thing available, so we took it. Honestly, it was perfect. After we left we said we will stay there again the next time we return to Cooperstown (if that ever happens). The people working there were super nice. It is a great location to Main Street (where Baseball hall of fame is). Only a few minutes down the road. There is a beautiful lake across the street that we only got to look at for a few minutes since we were on a timed schedule, but there is a separate area with chairs and whatnot specifically designated for the motel. It looks as if they have paddle boats and kayaks also that you can use in the lake through the motel. Definitely recommend this place! read more

The location is great, the rooms were the cleanest I've ever seen at a hotel and the price was affordable. Easily the best accommodations I've had while visiting the HOF area. The front desk staff is very friendly and you can tell they care about their guests and their property. The lake front area is nice, as well. There's Adirondack chairs to relax on as well as a dock and deck area. Fishing poles are provided as well as paddle boats. You also get a local paper each day. Easy drive into the trolley parking area or downtown if you want to park there. We will definitely stay there again! read more

We only stayed here one night and it was after tourist season so it wasn't busy at all. The staff in the office were so nice and excited when we showed up to check in. They really made us felt welcome. The price was great and the rooms were very clean, though outdated. But still comfortable. The view of the lake it spectacular. And not a very far drive from the center of town. If I ever make it back to Cooperstown I'll definitely stay here. read more

I wish I could say more than the other reviewers. The room was clean and comfortable but a little on the small side. The parking was great. Literally less than 20 feet from your bed. The rooms have a fridge and microwave too. It would be a great place to stay if you were traveling with a large group and booked several rooms next to each other. They even have chairs outside your door so you can hang out like you were on your front porch. The rates were very reasonable for the area. read more

We stayed in one of the 2 bedroom cabins with a kitchen. Owners need to do some updating/painting/fixing since several of the blinds were broken and the curtains dirty and gross. Beds were small and the bed spreads looked like they had not been washed in a long time. If they painted it would freshen up the space. Did look like the upper kitchen cabinets and the fridge were new so that's a start. Did have Great Lake access along with peddle boats to use. The swim area had large water grass growing in the area so not friendly to swim out to the floating swim pad. Not sure about the individual rooms since I never set foot in one. We had 2 queens which I maybe accidentally requested but there was only 2 of us so not necessary but I didn't find a need to complain so we kept it. Second time staying here and in love this place. The location is really what sells it for me. You get to wake up every day of your stay and catch the sunrise on the lake from the Adirondack chairs or the loungers on the dock. Just a supremely beautiful spot. But to make things even better they are so reasonably priced. Why stay in the price gouged chain hotels outside of Cooperstown when you can stay here? Inside the rooms are cozy. Big fridge for bringing back local wine and beer and I love their shower. Only drawback for me is the stiff bed but I have yet to wake up hurting so there's that. Overall awesomr location for the best price and their complimentary coffee is actually delicious. read more

Spent 5 days at the Lake View Motel while going to our granddaughters wedding in May. Could not ask for a better host than Bob Ghegan and his entire staff. Great views, room kept super clean daily by his housekeeping staff, Most friendly office staff ever to be found. Never to busy to say good morning, chat with you and ask if you are satisfied with everything to make sure your stay was as enjoyable in every way. A real pleasure to be away from home and to be treated that way. Kudo's to everyone of them. Almost hated to have to leave and come home. read more
