When we checked in, we were greeted warmly. I really appreciated help with my bag up the somewhat steep & narrow stairs. (No elevator - so keep that in mind if you come to stay.) Bed was firm, bathrooms were spotless, extra pillows in the closet are sealed in plastic, bedding all super fresh. Phone chargers next to the bed & sofa(bed) & solid wifi made this quaint & cozy room connected. Full length mirror, hair dryer & an iron & ironing board were much appreciated. Our 2nd floor room was very quiet & the blackout drapes on all windows plus the split ac & heat controls made everything adjustable for a perfectly cavelike environment. Hello solid night's sleep! A small fridge in the room had little Coffeemate creamers for the in-room coffee maker, but there is always a coffee & tea station downstairs too. The town is literally across the street! The Baseball Hall of Fame & the Farmers Museum are both a block & a half away, and in between are several spirits shops, baseball stores, restaurants and a bakery. Breakfast is 8am-9:30am & it is a nice offering: Oatmeal packets, cold cereals & milk Sausage & pepper frittata - custardy! Corn muffins (a must try!) Yogurts Fruit salad Heidelberg wheat, raisin & sunflower seed bread slices (& toaster) Coffee & tea station Orange, ruby grapefruit & cranberry juices Jams, butter, & condiments If you're coming to town & prefer a close stay to the sights here, & a smaller inn experience, this is the place to be! The inn has a selection of cycling-related accessories to purchase also.

Certain weekends/events in Cooperstown can have Main B&B booked solid without an early reservation. Prices vary per season and the events taking place in town. This B & B is located within walking distance to downtown - leave your car parked at the B & B. Street parking and lot parking is available. I parked on the street many times staying here and had no problem. There are three different bedrooms to rent with your own private bathroom in each room. Bedrooms have hardwood floor with floor rugs. Breakfast is served between 8 and 9am, and Susan is a wonderful cook. I have always enjoyed her dishes. They provide you a front door key to enter the house after "closing" time, and you are also provided a key to your bedroom. This B & B is not handicap accessible - all bedrooms are on the second floor. Stairs wrap around and are only wide enough for those who may need to use crutches or a cane. This is an old Victorian style home, decorated beautifully providing you a warm welcome during your stay in Cooperstown. I have stayed here twice, and I highly recommend the Main Street B & B.

The hosts, Sue and Ron, are the sweetest couple who do everything they can to make your stay a special one! We stayed in the Queen Anne room which was lovely, perfect for a couple celebrating our 25th wedding anniversary. Our private bath had double sinks which was nice. Our room, bathroom, and the entire bed and breakfast were extremely clean which is so important. Lastly, the breakfasts that Sue serves to her guests each morning are absolutely phenomenal!!! I highly recommend the Main Street Bed & Breakfast if you are coming up to the Cooperstown area, you will be so glad that you stayed here!!!

We came to see the Hall of Fame and settled in here for two nights. If you're planning a trip, I…read morewould highly recommend you come here as well. It is a very nice place, but the breakfast is spectacular. They're open to letting you pick a meal, and I tried waffles, sausage, eggs, they give you a plate full of biscuits - my goodness, it's all delicious. One of the best breakfasts I've had in as long as I can remember. Even the coffee is delicious stuff. I have too much shame to gorge myself stupid in someone else's home, but I easily could have and secretly wish I would have. The owners are very accommodating, too. You're in their home, but they never make you feel like you're intruding on their space. That is a big plus. The problems with the place are beyond their control - there's nothing around, so once you come in for the night, you're pretty much stuck indoors. But that's a Cooperstown problem. There's just not much to do after 8. We even ventured around to find a nice place to eat, and it's shocking for a city guy like me to drive around such a rural area in the pitch darkness finding so little life around. Also, there's a fair amount of bugs, but I guess that's what you get when you're in the mountains. We weren't bothered by it. Pro tip: GPSes of all kinds have no idea how to get here. Yelp and google maps were confused. Google maps asked if we meant County Hwy 33 W - that is not the right one. Check out all the options the GPS gives you - Willow Tree is about 10 miles north of the Hall of Fame.

The house was still under some renovations, and we were okay with that. We stayed in Room 1, and it was a pretty big room. The house was very comfortable and open, with a great deck and view out the back. John and Kim (and Emily) couldn't have been nicer. Breakfast is more than complete daily, and they'll make you whatever you want for dinner (salmon, steak, fried chicken, veggies). Only down part is there are a ton of ladybugs on the mountain, and without screens on all of the windows, they tend to get into the house. Otherwise, it was a really nice experience.

As I searched through possibilities, the first-floor suite at The Phoenix Inn caught my eye and made my decision very easy. This Inn provides everything you need, but there are no frills - the decor and accommodations are pleasant and clean. The beds are very comfortable, there is plenty of hot water, and the wi-fi worked great. There were power strips throughout the room, so we could plug in and recharge our devices. Vicki made the beds and changed the towels daily. There are daily newspapers in the common room and there is always fresh coffee, tea, and hot chocolate available. The guest fridge in the Inn's kitchen is great for chilling the goodies you get at Ommegang Brewery or the local wineries. The food is excellent. Each morning Vicki provides a buffet featuring fresh fruit, Greek yogurt, cereal, freshly-baked goodies from the Inn's kitchen, and a hot dish. The stand-outs during our visit were the Blueberry French Toast and the Raspberry-Cream Cheese Coffeecake. Vicki was amenable to special requests and was happy whip up a few scrambled eggs for my diabetic husband and she made sure to have the appropriate foods for two pregnant vegan women who were guests during our time there. The Inn is within 10-15 minutes of most of Cooperstown's attractions, but located away from it all. We had no trouble sleeping. I'd return to The Phoenix Inn.
