The Otsego Motel is a refurbished old roadside motel, now very fresh and comfortable. The furniture is not new, but the rooms have the expected amenities: new beds, refrigerator, heat and AC, free WiFi, etc., but no phone or coffee maker. The rates are significantly less than any similar accommodations in the entire area. Don't let the defunct swimming pool in front turn you away. It's on the eastern edge of the village, so somewhat isolated, on a trimmed lawn next to a cornfield in the middle of upstate New York's beautiful hilly farm country. It's probably the only motel I ever stayed in where I looked forward to returning to the motel so I could enjoy some bucolic peace and quiet. Several miles from a nice variety of places to eat in Cherry Valley and about ten to interesting Sharon Springs, a not-to-be-missed side trip. If you're looking for a reasonably priced motel room in the Glimmerglass area, I recommend this place. read more
